Guest Reviews
- Garry (10/5): - Quiet and comfortable
- Eva (9/5): Spacious, cozy cottage in a great location - Excellent stay in a great location, four spacious double bedrooms and plenty of space for the seven of us in the living room and around the table. Very comfy beds, cozy and warm, and dog friendly with an enclosed front garden. A little hard to find the right cottage in the dark on arrival, as it's part of a row of similar properties. Only one overhead shower. Also we didn't find the downstairs loo until the last day! Otherwise, a great stay and would definitely recommend.

- Christine (10/5): - Very spacious. No issues whatsoever
- Guest (8/5): We enjoyed it but we're disappointed with standards. - No breakfast, self catering. The kitchen was nice. Spacious but lacked useful or sufficient pans and cooking utensils. The house and location were perfect but the general state of repair and security let it down quite badly.
Condition and cleanliness of sofas etc: under the throws was poor. Fleas found on one. Many irritating faults with toilet flushing, shower plumbing, doors locking and the we were unable to lock the back door to the garage which itself was insecure. Anyone could have gained access to the house simply by walking through the garage. General opinion was that the owner was being let down by poor cleaning and very poor maintenance. This property could be lovely and deserves better care and attention.
- si (10/5): - Lovely quiet spot but located close to Monmouth
- Sheila (10/5): Ideal cottage for a family stay -
- Hoo (8/5): Very good - The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The beds were really comfortable, lovely cotton sheets and fresh towels. Toilet paper provided, and cleaning products, and a few kitchen essentials. The games room was great for my nephew. Only a short drive down to Symonds Yat. Lovely quiet spot with fabulous views. Only issues were the loose toilet seat and shower was difficult to use, otherwise a lovely place to stay.
- Nicky (9/5): Lovely place amazing view across to church and hills beyond - Large open living space, large bedrooms, great location Only one wall mounted shower although 2 baths
- Amanda (8/5): Very good - Firstly I would like to thank you for the use of the cottage this weekend.
It was an ideal location for the family and for what we had planned .
I would like to apologise , my sister called up on Friday , to ask few things ad I apologise if she was abrupt and rude,
We have left a bag of logs in the log store
- Roxanne (9/5): Spacious, quiet cottage - How spacious the cottage was, dog friendly, everything that you needed was there from towels to kitchen utensils, lots of seating, location. The TV was strangely difficult to use, we couldn't get DVDs to work.
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely cottage. Lovely spot. - The accommodation was very good and our requests for bed configurations delivered. The cottage was warm and cosy and in a lovely spot.
Our stay was at the beginning of February, so when we arrived at the property, we were a little surprised to find the Christmas tree and other Christmas decorations still in place. However, this did not spoil our stay, and we will visit again.
- Abi (9/5): Excellent! - Great location , and the house was very spacious!
- Newns (8/5): On the whole, very good. - Sofa needs replacing, also some of the cutlery. Bedside table lamps. Could not close bedroom door by bathroom.
- Elaine (5/5): Passable - Beds were clean and comfortable. House was warm.
Katie was quick to respond to my texts regarding the heating system which I was grateful for.
The Cottage is spacious but needs some tlc. Unfortunately the cottage wasn't as clean as we expected. The stair/landing carpets hadn't been hoovered and are dirty.
The sofas were grubby, the covers on one were dirty and the sofa itself extremely well worn!
The dining table hadn't been wiped from previous guests leaving it sticky and with food particles on it.
The kitchen sink needs updating, a back door mat would be useful and a roller blind on the kitchen window should be in place.
The Cottage needs work to improve its appeal.
- Bill (6/5): Not an autumn rental - Good communication from owner, but everything is very dated, and needs a good overhaul. We stayed during a cold spell, and the heating would not kick in. Tried to use the fire, but no kindling and no axe to make any. The outside logbox is all locked up, as if we would steal a log.
Overall, it's a good spot, I'm sure in the summer it's lovely. We chose a bad time. Not the owners fault, but it should be a year round rental. No heating. Very squeaky bedroom flooring, the people below must hate it.
- Linda (9/5): Lovely short break with the family. - Very good layout and plenty of space - bedrooms were a very good size and beds very comfortable. A hook by the basin in the bedrooms for hanging a handtowel and somewhere to hang wet bath towels. The plunge plug in the kitchen sink was broken and there was no washing up bowl so washing up was difficult.
- Munir (10/5): Fantastic location size of cottage was perfect and we loved it !! - The location is fantastic, we arrive as a family to attend a wedding. We were soo pleased to find the cottage location was breathtaking. The size comfort and cleanliness was spot on. Just like to say a massive thank you for letting us stay at your lovely cottage. Perfect ❤️ no comments for this section
