Guest Reviews
- Katarzyna (10/5): Absolute gem! - We loved the cosy, spotless cottage, the thoughtful welcome hamper (including dog treats), the perfect location between Ashbourne and Buxton with great walking trails, and how friendly and responsive Amanda was throughout our stay. Nothing
- david (10/5): We appreciated the attention to detail -
- Woodall (10/5): Beautiful home and garden, perfectly located for exploring. - Perfect cottage for us with 2 dogs. Fabulous enclosed garden and well equipped home with many additional extras (and welcome treats for humans and doggies).
- Andrew (10/5): Beautiful, cosy cottage located very near all the best walks. - Amanda was a very welcoming and attentive host, checking in with us on arrival via Whatsapp, which we appreciated. The place was beautifully presented and very welcoming. We were impressed by all the many beautiful, stylish touches and the range of facilities and things on hand. We really did have everything we needed. It's a really cosy cottage and very characterful.
- Cathryn Mallett (10/5): Excellent! - I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a lovely old cottage, well kept and felt very homely. The host left us a little hamper which was a nice touch!
- Keith (8/5): Very good - Good central location. Nowhere is very quick to get to on the country road network. But hey, we're on holiday so it doesn't matter. Unfortunately I hurt my back just before this, and I was on crutches. It's hilly, and some of the sites, and walks were out of my range. If you're fit, it would be no problem, and a nice area. Just not for me this week.
The cottage was great, with parking and a great double garage.
- Angela (10/5): I’m really loved the cottage . Excellent for my dog and close to walking areas loved it - Lovely cosy comfortable cottage Nothing
- Makayla (10/5): Exceptional - What wasn't to like. Beautiful cosy cottage, comfy beds and pillows, fully enclosed garden for the dogs and a friendly helpful host. We ordered the food hampers and they were delicious, there was nothing to fault and beautifully presented, but what topped it for me was the personalised doggy treat bags and the water in a bowl ready for their arrival. There were just so many nice touches. We stayed for four nights I just wish it had been a week, we'll be back! nothing.
- Clare (10/5): Comfortable cottage. A home away from home - Every detail of the cottage was thought of. Welcome hamper, local information, points of interest, wood for the fireplace and instructions noted around the cottage for guests to read. Cosy and comfortable. No negatives here. Exceptional accomodation.
- Jenny (10/5): Exceptional - The beautiful garden was just sublime. All the small, thoughtful touches in the house for us as guests and our pooches were just excellent. It was immaculately clean, and Amanda could not do more for us. 5*, it was so perfect, we've already booked for next year.
There were so many excellent walks local to The Casey too, only 15-20 minutes in the car and even the Tissington Trail in walking distance! Sublime!
- Mccann (10/5): little 💎 Gem. - loved the hamper upon arrival. Loved the enclosed garden with extra security for little dogs. loved the bedding so soft and comfortable. overall a very beautiful well maintained little cottage. we didn't stay long enough.
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful cottage with great outdoor space - Beautiful cottage with an adorable garden overlooking the church. Spotlessly clean. Kitchen well equipped with full cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer. Cosy lounge with wood burner which we used. Logs and kindling left for us. 2 bedrooms delightfully decorated and lovely large bathroom with bath and over shower. Amanda thought of everything leaving Toilettries, basic provisions. Arranged a delicious breakfast skillet full of local produce.
Walking distance to a couple of lovely pubs.
Although on a road there was parking at the rear in front of a garage which we could also use for storage.
Amanda was great, very informative and communication was excellent.
We loved our stay at The Casey and definitely recommend to anyone wishing to explore this beautiful area. Everything was just perfect. Nothing to dislike
- Collette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): Perfect location for a walking break with the dogs - Lovely cosy little cottage with amenities nearby. Host gave us a comprehensive brief on everything nearby. Essentials and gifts left for us and the dogs which was lovely. Loved the garden and wood burner. Off road parking. Lots to explore nearby with plenty of towns, villages and country walks available. Hot water and heating were perfect for a winter break. Fully equipped kitchen. All perfect.
- David (10/5): Perfect - Perfect property. Exellent welcome basket with a few essentials and a personal touch with the dog treats. The property is compact but lacks absolutely nothing and is ideal for couples wanting to hit the Peak trails. The garden is big and we'll presented with plenty of outdoor furniture. In summer this would be amazing. The bed was extremely comfortable and the triple glazing made it nice and quite. All in all cannot fault it. Reccomended 👍 N/A
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the location of the cottage, it was so convenient for visiting beautiful places nearby. The cottage was really comfortable and cosy, with lots of thoughtful touches- even some Christmas presents in the welcome hamper. It was a really relaxing break. Thank you!
- Clare (9/5): Lovely bolt hole in the Peak District - Gorgeous, cosy cottage in great location. Had everything you'd need for a short stay. Beds really comfy. Was great to have own parking space with access to the dog friendly enclosed garden. n/a
- Sophie (8/5): Perfect cottage, road noisy - The property itself is gorgeous. The garden is perfect and secure for dogs and the cottage is so well equipped with everything you need. It was cosy and comfortable and in a good location. The welcome hamper was a lovely welcoming touch and also one of the most dog friendly places we have stayed! The road is really really noisy. I’m a light sleeper but my partner sleeps through anything and we both didn’t sleep during our stay due to the thundering lorry’s
- Jane (9/5): Lovely cottage we have returned to on a couple of occasions! -
- Audrey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Beautiful cosy gem! - Amanda the host was great very informative and there if needed, the cottage was absolutely beautiful, Cosy and perfect, we couldn't of asked for more it had everything we needed, even ear plugs to drown out my partners snoring (well I'm assuming they were for that 😬), I took my mum and her dog with us as it was her birthday and hadn't been away for 20 years and she absolutely loved it, she even said she was going to be Amanda's squatter as she didn't want to leave! Everything was perfect and ideal for a few days away to relax, even though the road was right outside and quite busy it wasn't an issue at all and I'd definitely book again , thank you Amanda for a wonderful stay ❤️ Absolutely nothing
- Cambridge (8/5): Great little cottage near lots of walking places local town had lots of amenities - Loverly little cottage well presented and clean lots of local information dog friendly.
- Ross (10/5): Lovely little place to stay -
- Jane (9/5): Comfortable and convenient - Cosy and comfortable with pretty garden, hope to return again in the future
- Rosemary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meghan (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (9/5): It was a lovely cosy cottage in a perfect location -
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Steveyd333 (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing little cottage, outstanding facilities, nothing hasn't been thought about, even fresh cut flowers and a hamper with m & s eggs, bread and milk. The beds are comfy, shower is warm and powerful and even logs, kindling and lighters for the wood burner make it even more cosy. Nothing, I've read the reviews about road noise, but secondary glazing if closed makes it a lot quieter and with the TV on barely able to hear. My dog didn't even react!
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Great accommodation perfect for you and your dogs. Location is perfect for visiting the peaks. Secure garden, shops, restaurants and pubs all close by and amazing facilities in the cottage was all thing we liked about our stay. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.
- Darren (10/5): The Casey - A lovely cottage, easy to find and in a good location to use as a base for exploring the Peak District.
Amanda, the owner made sure we had everything we needed and the welcome basket was a treat. The cottage is on a busy road, the secondary glazing mitigates the traffic noise mostly but the odd lorry does thunder past now and then.
That said, it's a very short walk to get away from that road and it did make the cottage easy to find and a good base to explore further afield in yhe car.
- Sarah (10/5): Amazing holiday - lovely accommodation in very good location . very clean and lovley hamper the one thing i would improve was in single bedroom large clock on wall had stopped working so i would replace it or mend it
- Paul (10/5): A very relaxing stay. - The accommodation was well presented and contained all facilities with relevant instructions.
Willow, my Labrador enjoyed the spacious garden and the toys (balls) and treats supplied by the host, Amanda. No issues/concerns to report.
- Robert (3/5): Poor - A neat, very clean and cosy cottage set in the south of the Peak District. Amanda set us off with a very generous starter hamper which was very much appreciated, even had treats for our dog, who was also made very welcome. The bed was very comfortable as was the lounge. The garden was secure for our dog and off road parking was a bonus. The one and only downside is the proximity to the very busy A515 with the cottage less than 5 meters from the roadside. The road is very busy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is a prime route for the many aggregate and cement lorries carrying materials from local quarries. After 2 days we bought earplugs to wear at night, but this still was not enough to get an undisturbed nights sleep. The road noise spoilt our holiday.
- Tamla (10/5): Exceptional -
