Guest Reviews
- Oliver (6/5): Great location, little cold upstairs - Good location, spacious warm downstairs Could do with more attention on cleaning, thick dust in areas, upstairs was cold in comparison to downstairs areas.
- Julie (10/5): - The Cottage was beautiful & well equipped. The location was perfect Only the cobwebs in the bathroom.
My granddaughter dropped a dice under the sofas & we found allsorts & it was very dirty. They aren't to the floor so no reason to be so dirty
- ANDREW (8/5): - House was spacious and bright with great decor and very comfortable furnishings. Parking was a nightmare with cars being abandoned in awkward positions as they visited shops.
A number of minor issues - door to dinning room off its hinge. .Back bedroom door wouldn't latch shut.
Cot was requested but not supplied and contact number unavailable after 5 and at weekends. Thankfully it didn't detract from a great trip.
Threatening Text at 07:00 was a bit unnecessary on the morning of departure.
- Jon (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Anthony (9/5): Great cottage with plenty of space - The house was very clean, well decorated and had everything we needed. Plenty of space for 8 of us. No specific parking, but plenty of space in local streets. Only downside for me was the bell ringing at the cathedral which continued through the night on the hour so woke me up a couple of times. No one else in the house was bothered by it though.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Sophie (8/5): Great location cosy weekend break - Good location

Warm and cosy Kitchen not well equipped for large group
Single cup cafetière inadequate

Not enough wine glasses
- Akbar (5/5): It was a good stay but might look for something else’s - The property was nice but quite undated. Kitchen was good size and the kitchen had a welcome cake , crisps milk which was lovely. We didn’t get to see the host but getting the key was easy . Also there were games
Books for guests to use . Overall size of the property was good . We were total of 7 people in the cottage but the hot water ran out when we were taking shower. The door knob of my room was broken . The beds were very very uncomfortable and only one toilet role was provided in the washroom. We had to buy rest ourselves . No parking available , it’s all off street. We didn’t get parking outside , it was little further .
- Jacqueline (8/5): Overall a good property with only a few small things that require attention. - Great size to cater for our party of seven. The outside courtyard at the rear needed tidying and cleaning generally. The kitchen tap isn’t fixed to the sink and requires a plumber to tighten it. There were splashes of liquid to the cupboard side which had not been cleaned. Also the fridge door doesn’t close properly and requires adjustment.
- Alison (10/5): This was a perfect holiday cottage with lots of space for our friends and family reunion. It works for eating in and coo - The property is spacious, and nicely decorated. It’s calm and a homely space to return to after a day out. The location is very beautiful and convenient. It’s excellently placed for pubs, cafe, supermarket next door open all hours, and some nice walks from the village.
It was great that soap is provided.
Fresh mint outside the front door was a bonus. It wld be nicer to have the main dining room window cleaned.
A bigger coffee pot for a house that sleeps 8 people.
- James (8/5): Very good - Great location for southern peak district, Buxton, Bakewell etc. Although the property was great there are a few signs of wear and tare, could do with a little TLC soon.
- Janet (6/5): Pleasant - The bedrooms and bathrooms although the door knob on one of the bedrooms came off in your hand ! The downstairs wasn't as clean as it should have been and we found articles left from previous guests also some of the crockery was dirty....the sink taps were loose....the windows throughout were filthy ! We also had to buy some loo rolls only been supplied with two for eight people !
- Bartle (9/5): Memorable stay for our family to attend a family wedding at Eyam. The Well Dressing carnival definitely added atmosphere - Good location, plenty of space, comfortable & well equipped nice decor - very homey. Door knob on first bedroom door on right falls off!!
- Anonymous (9/5): Bostin - Beds, kitchen, showers, everything There wasn't anything it was lovely
- Ingham (9/5): Perfect for our requirements - Very spacious, Good seating in the lounge, Kitchen equipment, very good showers. No coffee machine, Constantly dripping gutter at rear of the property. Bedside lamp failure in 'Queen' bedroom.
- Susan (6/5): A central location for exploring the Peak District. On the whole we had a fabulous stay in Tideswel - The overall cleanliness of the cottage. There were a few things that were totally unsatisfactory. It would also be a good idea to put in the information for prospective visitors about the church bells and the chiming. If you were a very light sleeper then I would suggest you bring ear plugs as they go all through the night 4 times an hour.
- Rosemary (10/5): All six guests extremely satisfied and would still have had plenty of room for eight if needed. - The location is a perfect base for visiting all places and as a starting place for walks. Excellent eating out if needed - all dog friendly. Accommodation spacious, clean and very well equipped. A couple of minor things which were not worth even contacting host about but left a note at end.
- Catrina (9/5): Would highly recommend for families, beautiful property in a great location. - Location was great, nice and central for amenities and walks. 2 families stayed here and we had plenty of space, excellent facilities, very clean and comfortable. Really liked that games, books etc were all provided. Local amenities all accommodating for the dogs we had with us, and local café served excellent breakfast!
Great communication with instructions and information before we arrived.
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
