Guest Reviews
- Angela (8/5): Excellent stay loved the property and location - View was amazing Not enough hand towels for 5 guests
Not super clean some cups and dinning room table were dirty
- Deandra (10/5): Perfect views! - The view! The cottage is in a lovely area.. garden is perfect to sit and enjoy the sun. Our dog loves playing in the garden too.
Rooms are very bright and spacious The cottage was a little dusty, the tv unit, the lamps in lounge. The tv in dining room.
However, it wouldn't stop us from booking again!
- michelle (10/5): Perfect cottage - Location spot on great garden for the dogs wonderful view
- Ian (10/5): - Lovely well appointed comfortable cottage. Great views over Prestatyn and coast line. Nice sunsets.whilst sat in garden of an evening. Access to garage is down a very narrow track and is tricky in a low sports car..Fine a normal small car. A friendly neighbour offered use of her driveway and there is a safe layby at top of track to park if you struggle
- Lena (10/5): - The place was beautiful as was the view The bed was hard which I didn't like but my partner did
- Grace (10/5): - Very clean. Spectacular views. Comfy beds. Norhing
- Sandra (9/5): House with a view - View was beautiful, beds very comfy. Good artificial grass at front. Good local walks and close/walking distance to town and beach. Would be nice if bed at front of house on I foot platform, so you could lay in bed and see the beautiful view. Dinning table was dirty and very sticky. The sofas not comfy. Back yard could do with wash and brush, kept leaving trails of dirt, in dinning and kitchen. Attention to cleaning routeen would benifical. Kitchen units, doors, frames, skirting boards, dinning table including legs and underframe. Parking was pretty accurate , (car park down hill really good), apart from pot holes, very narrow and great fun if you have an estate and I did impressive myself with car wheel spin on just a wet day.
- rhian (7/5): Lovely cottage in a stunning location - Beautiful view and just a stunning cottage. Everything we needed was there. The property would benefit with a freshen up paint wise. Totally appreciate that this cottage allows pets which our cocker spaniels loved .. one did escape via the corner of the garden that is not fenced but thank fully the neighbours spotted him.
- Pete (10/5): - Stunning view of Prestatyn
Cosy Cottage

- Amanda (9/5): Great little cottage - It is a cosy little cottage, ideal for a family weekend away. It was comfortable and homely with everything we needed. Amazing views from the front windows and garden.
- Hizer (10/5): Amazing - Excellent view and cleanliness.
- Tracy (9/5): Great, beautiful location - Loved the location, comfort and the beauty of the cottage.
- Sue Mc (8/5): A great place to stay - A great place to stay, perfect location as we were working in the area
- Nicky (10/5): -
- Leon (10/5): - Everything that we needed for stay . And great views
- Adam (9/5): -
- Yvonne (10/5): A lovely cottage. - Loved the peace and quiet this property offered. Had a great nights sleep every night. No street lighting shining in the windows. Comfortable beds and a good shower. Nice to have the bath too. The views of the surrounding area and sea were great, especially at night. Garden table and 6 chairs provided. Felt as though we were in the countryside, but, it was only a few mins drive into Prestatyn which has plenty of shops, cafes etc and is central for sightseeing around the area and for walks. Lovely beach a few mins drive away. The cottage was well appointed and having the washing machine was great for a longer stay. The carport and the steps to the house are well lit at night(on motion sensors) The host also offered an earlier checkin which we took advantage of. Would stay again. The parking area is a little tricky for a bigger car, which the host did point out. We have a Volvo XC 60 which fitted under it fine. We just took it slowly and parked into the carport at an angle. Reversing out the carport and driving along the road a little bit, you are able to turn and then drive back out to the road again. (The turn is into another property but the owner is accommodating.) Once you get used to it, its fine.
The 3 steps to the upper level of the garden to the front door could be tricky for some as there is no handrail. The dining table is sticky, and even after cleaning remains so. Think it needs sanding and revarnishing.
None of this spoilt our stay though, as we all thoroughly enjoyed our week there.
- Kerry (10/5): - Beautiful cottage ,clean ,warm and cosy
The views are amazing the location is perfect for walks and the beach
Will definitely be booking again Nothing
- Lynne (9/5): Lovely cottage - clean - spacious - heating - lovely and warm - lovely - clean - spacious - quiet - Nothing - we loved everything !
- Deandra (10/5): Amazing views - Loved every minute, the views are just WOW!! N/A
- michael (10/5): - Great location with a cracking view. Beautiful cottage and great communication from the owners. Would stay again N/a
- Tracey (9/5): Lovely cottage with views - Beautiful cottage very clean . Had everything you needed . The lanes were very very narrow to get to the property. Parking was difficult as we had quite a large car .
- Alison (9/5): House on the hill - Beautiful house in a near perfect location...stunning views over the town and beyond.
House has everything you need and enjoyed our stay. The climb up to the house...very steep.... And the road leading to it was very narrow and also a dead end making it difficult to reverse etc Parking was difficult unless a confident driver.
The toilet wasn't great at flushing and instructions on how to use the shower would have been helpful.... Took me ages to get it right !!!
- Angela (9/5): -
- Mandi Smith (10/5): - The property was beautiful, stunning location.
Beds were heavenly, and the shower hot and powerful. Nothing!
- natalie (10/5): - Beautiful views, house exactly as described.
Everything you need.
Comfy beds
Perfect holiday home.. Nothing
- Claire (10/5): Lovely presented and positioned property with sea views. - The cottage is in a lovely position, with a great view overlooking Prestatyn. 3 large bedrooms with quality bedding. Having bath and shower is great, especially with young children. Free WiFi is very useful. The sunset of an evening sat outside is stunning, table and chairs are provided. The kitchen is well equip if you wish to cook, however there is plenty of takeaways nearby. Having the use of the washing machine was also great. Close to Rhyl and other areas to explore. The lane to access the property is narrow and manoeuvring into the parking space under the property would be tricky if you had a large car/SUV so bare in mine when booking - worth it for the view though! A couple of blankets for sitting outside of an evening would have been nice.
- Simon (10/5): Great stay - The views were amazing! Property was clean and modern.
- David (9/5): Enjoyed it immensely - Location & Views
- James (10/5): Fantastic and will be back - The house was spectacular, it is a home from home It was perfect
- Sally (9/5): A beautiful property with fantastic views. Great sunset. - I could not open the key box, husband had to do it.
Narrow lane and difficult car parking.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (8/5): Hillside Cottage - At Hillside's cottage, the views are spectacular, looking out to sea sitting on the patio area of an evening..
Inside you can still see out to sea from the living room, dining room and the two bedrooms upstairs.
The bedrooms were very spacpuis and the beds were very comfortable.
It did go a little cold one one of the evenings, so we did have to put the heating on which was controlled by ourselves and not on a timer. I received an email from the owner to state that there will not be any tea, coffee, or milk provided at the property due to allergies, which in all properties i have rented do supply at least milk.
I feel that the cottage could have been cleaned better as there were spiders and webbs in every
the dining room table was sticky and dirty.
I did want to cook dinner, but only 2 saucepans were provided, which I feel that more saucepans would benefit, especially when there are four people
- Theresa (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed our stay. Lovely location to explore local walks and beach. Nice property. The fridge needed cleaning
- Laura (9/5): Superb - Amazing views, great location for exploring the area Only downside was needed some blackout curtains in front two bedrooms
- Emna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (10/5): excellent - the view was beautiful and although it seems rural it's 10mins from the centre
perfect location nothing
- Amy (9/5): Superb - Love the location, very central for everything. Tricky to find the slip road down to the parking.
- Ewelina (10/5): Amazing! - Great location, view is amazing, house had everything we needed highly recommended!!!! shower mixer sometimes it was hard to find the right temperature
doors to the main bedroom were getting stuck
But that's just small things :) we would definitely come back
- John (10/5): A perfect place for beaches, ramblers and shoppers. - The views are truly amazing, it's worth the price alone. The place is spotlessly clean, everything is at hand, perfect for a family or three couples, unfortunately it was still a bit chilly in the evening but I can imagine long summer evenings drinking in the ever changing view and chatting with friends over a nice beverage. Big thanks to our hosts, we will be back. Perhaps the only item I'd bring attention to is the drop from the patio to the garden area, maybe a balustrade could be fixed along the edge? Also a handrail from the upper section to the garage would be helpful.
We knew the area and it's available on Google maps so we headed strait there but it can be a little difficult to find as there are three grit boxes and the one by the lane is obscured by a car parking there, use what 3 words, notifying.boot.rewarded.
- Helen (9/5): Lives up to it's name . - Great view. Spacious house for family visit. Quiet area. Good area Infront of property to sit outside. Steep tight turns on road to property. Difficult parking. Could do with a freshen up.
- David (10/5): Superb holiday home for 6 - All 6 of us agreed beds were comfy..
View is amazing
Grandson loved front garden
If you want a pint the fox crosses pub 10 mins down the hill is a really friendly pub.
It's £4 in a taxi back up which is worth every penny
Kitchen was perfect
Nice living room
Dining room perfect for 6 and also had tv Honestly can't think of anything to write
- Kelly (7/5): Good - View was amazing and bed were comfy Walls and doors dirty
Drainer was very dirty
- Georgina (10/5): A lovely cottage with beautiful sea views - Hillside cottage had everything we needed for a short break, it was very clean and comfortable, warm and cosy!
The views were absolutely stunning, overlooking the sea. It was a perfect base for us to visit family and friends in the area.
The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. We will be back!
- John (9/5): Would definitely stay again!! - The property was lovely, cosy and clean. Comfy beds, and an exceptional view - perfect to look out on with a morning coffee! Some throws/blankets, and plumper cushions on the sofas would have added that extra edge of comfort for in the evenings. Parking - not the easiest to manoeuvre into, and maybe 2 cars would have been a stretch - but private and well lit parking is always an added bonus
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (7/5): Nice getaway - Lovely views. Nr to town
Not the easiest parking
Could do with a freshen up paintwork and walls
- Jean (1/5): Bad - Location no good if you have mobility problems and tried several times to contact host all I got was answer machine and no one bothered to call me back very disappointing would not stay again we only stayed one night instead of the three as could not manage the steps
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - the place was so nice the views was amazing will be coming back very good for what you pay for
- Kim (9/5): Lovely cottage with amazing views! - Amazing view and very helpful owner! Loved the layout and views from the front four rooms! We loved it. If we have to be picky, I’d say it’s hard to park at. We didn’t have any issues getting to the parking but I’m glad it was my husband manoeuvring and not me! I guess it’s the price you pay for the views!
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - This property was ideal for our annual getaway with my friend and her sons. It’s beautifully located, and we loved our morning walks with the dog as well as strolls along the beach. The property was spotless and met our high standards of cleanliness. Parking was a struggle with the narrow road.
- Sally (9/5): Superb - The house was warm, quiet with stunning view The lane has some very large pot holes and we did not want to drive along it in the dark due to the condition and narrowness.
- Ian (9/5): Excellent comfortable cottage - Everything in the cottage was excellent. Clean. Was also warm (not all are in December!) Parking wasn't great and a little difficult to find first time.
- Sutton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fasel (10/5): Cosy log fire - Great location, easy walk to the beach, shops and scenic walks None
- Jenni (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wain (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (9/5): Another Lovely Stay at Hillside. -
- Pete (9/5): A cosy home from home - A wonderful location over looking the town and coast. The cottage is finished to a high standard and proved to be very cosy during some awful weather
- Linda (9/5): Lovely place - View, cleanliness, facilities Lanes to cottage at night were scary as not familiar with area and very very dark
- Sian (10/5): Had a great time and would recommend staying - Great location, beautiful view. The house is very clean and has everything you need for a few days away.
It's great value and this is the second time we have stayed here.

- Jenny (10/5): Great house, all you need included. - The view Nothing
- Jacqueline (9/5): The house is very nice and comfortable to stay in. It had everything we needed. - The views are lovely looking down. Bed very comfortable. Parking space. It is no good for medium to large SUV. Suggest owners mention this in write up. We had to park up the road on roadside.
- Lorraine (10/5): Another lovely stay at hillside - Another great stay at this lovely comfortable cottage. Never tired of looking at the view
- Hearn (9/5): Superb -
- Elaine (10/5): Very relaxing, quiet. Beautiful property - Clean, well maintained.
Nice decor.
Beds were so comfortable.
View was amazing Nothing
- Anne (9/5): A well presented house with a wonderful sea view. - The view of the sea was wonderful , from a very tidy front garden.
Plenty of hot water . The bathroom window has been locked open, and we could not find a key to fit.
The bath/shower could do with a non-slip mat for safety or a grab handle.
The shed to the washing machine was locked , but as we were there for a short time this did not affect us.
- Danielle (8/5): Fantastic time visiting family from Prestatyn, outstanding views. - The views!! The size of the space for a family is great even for hosting a family meal, the shower/bath is brilliant. The property had everything you need/want. Feels like a home away from home. The small road coming into the parking at the property needs some maintenance as potholes can damage the car if not careful.
- Paula (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing views, very clean, well equipped cottage The parking was difficult
- Siobhann (10/5): Exceptional - Loved the views and location The big hill to walk back up but the view was so worth it and good exercise
- Michael (8/5): Fantastic value for money. - Sunset and views. Parking is tricky.
- Matthew (10/5): We would recommend and visit again ourselves. - Lovely location

- John (10/5): Blissful - The views and location Having to leave ......
- Helen (10/5): Prestatyn and Wales in general are gorgeous and there is lots to see and do - Location and view were awesome. The cottage was comfortable and well maintained. Would have preferred softer pillows and the parking is hard for two cars (particularly for a driver from North America less used to the narrow roads). However we did take advantage of the layby identified by the host.
