• Yen Ting (9/5): A Cozy and Welcoming Hostel in Kyoto - A historic-style hostel with a warm, cozy, and clean atmosphere. The hosts are a lovely couple—very kind and helpful. The female host speaks great English, and the male host is a talented artist. I especially loved the thoughtful card he gave me. Breakfast together in the morning was a highlight, creating a nice chance to chat with other guests. The location is also very convenient, with a good supermarket nearby and easy bus access. If you want to experience Kyoto, this place is a great choice. Everything was great.

The location is convenient, and the house itself is a beautiful, well-kept traditional Japanese home converted into a cozy hostel. Our room for four was comfortable, and the heated mattresses were a lovely touch. But what truly makes this place exceptional are the hosts — Mama and Papa. They are an adorable couple, incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. Mama speaks excellent English, making communication effortless, and she was always making sure we were comfortable. Papa was wonderful as well — he even painted our names in Japanese calligraphy and gifted them to us as laminated keepsakes, which we will treasure forever. Breakfast was included and was both wholesome and filling. The common areas are full of charm, with books, decorations, notes from guests around the world, and heartfelt messages that reflect the love and care Mama and Papa put into this place. Their daughter was also very kind. We were traveling with a lot of luggage, and they went out of their way to help us — Papa even offered to drive one of us with the heaviest bags to Kyoto Station at checkout. This is not just a place to stay — it’s an experience filled with kindness and genuine hospitality. Truly unforgettable.

El desayuno consiste en te, café, yogurt, tostadas, dulce, manteca, frutas y ensalada. Me gustó todo. Pero tengan en cuenta que el alojamiento queda en un barrio residencial, un poco alejado de las principales zonas turísticas. De todas maneras hay varias paradas de bus muy cerca.

• Youness (10/5): - Exceptional stay highly recommend. Mama San and Papa San were phenomenal hosts. Very kind and the atmosphere was unparalleled. They made a delicious homemade dinner for us which was super fun and very tasty. Can’t wait to stay there again.

• YANQIONG (10/5): 非常棒的一次旅游体验，房东人很好，可以用英文交流。 - 特地选了一家当地的民宿，环境非常好，地理位置也方便，去京都站坐一辆公交就到了，关键房东爸爸妈妈非常热情。 真的已经做得很好了。

• Nathalie (10/5): Un coup de cœur à Kyoto - Quel plaisir de séjourner chez Mama et Papa. Ce fut un véritable coup de cœur. On s’est senti accueilli très chaleureusement. Nous étions une famille de 4 et avions réservé une chambre avec lit superposé. Tout était parfait. Le petit déjeuner préparé par Mama avec attention était délicieux. Le quartier est très agréable et accessible facilement en bus. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir.
• Philipp Siegfried (10/5): - Es war bisher die persönlichste und beste Unterbringung in Japan! Mama und Papa haben sich hervorragend um einen gekümmert und für eine tolle Zeit in Kyoto gesorgt. In der unmittelbaren Nachbarschaft gibt es auch tolle Möglichkeiten zum Essen und man ist meiner Meinung nach gut angebunden. Von der Unterkunft gibt es auch Tipps was es so in der Umgebung gibt.

• Anna (10/5): Der Aufenthalt im Kyoto Compass ist etwas sehr besonderes, Dank der Gastgeber. - Der Aufenthalt im Kyoto Compass war für mich sehr besonders. Ich habe mich zur jederzeit wohl gefühlt. Mama und Papa sind sehr liebevolle und interessierte Gastgeber und sie sind jederzeit für dich da. Das Frühstück ist toll und es fühlt sich an als würde man in einer Familie zusammen frühstücken. Nachts war es ruhig und es war ales vorhanden was ich brauchte. Das Hostel ist nicht in der nähe von bestimmten sehenswürdigkeiten aber es ist zentral in der Stadt. Ansonsten kann ich über nichts meckern.
