• Orhan (9/5): Great stay at a beautifully renovated machiya - Beautifully renovated machiya, very comfortable, very esthetic. We really enjoyed our stay. Our room was not ready for the us at the specified check in time due to a mix up, we ended up being able to enter the room approximately 1.30-2 hours late. Because of this we requested a mere 30 minute late check out but it was not accepted by staff. The cleaning staff were at the door at 10 AM. If the rules are this sensitive for check out times, it should be the same for check in times as well.

• james (10/5): Beautiful, traditional Machiya but with modern convenience - the perfect mix. perfect! - the place was gorgeous and authentic - the key pick up was easy. I wish we had had longer there! I didn't realise the key collection was from a different hotel - it actually made everything really easy but because the hotel you get the keys from is called a "station" i thought it would be harder.
• Lily (9/5): If I were to return to Kyoto again, I would stay here!! I would recommend Mstchiya Kunpu to my friends! - We were a big family. 4 adults and 2 kids! Loved how the house was spacious and everyone had their own space! This house gave you a taste of a real Japanese style house! Futon beds, garden outside each room and Japanese style futon/ bathtub let of experience Japanese living! Office staff at Rinn Office were helpful and accommodating. Their amenities were better than any other hotel we stayed in. Many different kinds of toiletries and even cute hair rubberbands for the little girls were truly appreciated! Pillows were small and little too soft! As the big long table with space to dangle our feet was great for everyone else, I had a hard time getting up and down from this low table!! Biggest set back was the distance from the train stations, bus stops and eateries!
• Martti (8/5): A stylish place for those seeking a Japanese spirit. - Key collection was not close to the destination. The service was friendly and attentive, however. When the apartment became available, we were offered a ride to the destination. The apartment had a lot of space and it exuded the spirit of Japanese culture as a whole. The premises were clean. For those traveling with a family, 2 separate rooms and a toilet are an advantage. The location is not the best in terms of transport connections, but it is within walking distance of the main train station. The location was also quiet. In a place of this size, I would have liked a laundry facility and some kind of gas or induction stove for cooking breakfast. The Japanese style of sitting on the floor also took some getting used to, although there was a separate space under the table for your feet.
• David (10/5): Great deal and very cozy traditional space with excellent customer service - Gorgeous traditional style and excellent customer service A bit far from main transit but staff were quick to get us taxi service (<2min) and the cabs were often comparable to transit when split between the group

Tatami mats, Japanese table, garden - all so lovely with a serene atmosphere, quiet neighborhood. Loved the modern amenities too! Lights, Ac, shower room!!! The entry way was so beautiful too. Easy access, easy checkout, helpful binder… close to so many attractions! Staff so friendly! Thank you! The stairs were a little difficult to bring luggage up but we kept most downstairs. Being westerns , we missed sitting in a chair😄 but we would not change a thing
• Raine (10/5): Stellar Japanese architecture that’s clean best for families - The property is stellar the interior and the vacation home is truly an embodiment of Japanese architecture. It is super clean and the amenities are well thought out. We arrived with the house heated and toasty on a winter time. Thank you for the careful care for your guests. That you have to check in on a different area. We went back at night and had a bit of time finding the actual house. (I think it’s the google maps , it maps 2 houses further .)

Two bathrooms was great for multiple guestsl, the bath was beautiful, all of the furnishings were perfect. only complaint was the duvet was too thick for the summer, but honestly it was barely an issue.

• Tom (10/5): One of the most amazing places to stay in Kyoto! - The machiya we stayed in was amazing. The traditional setting in a very quaint part of town that made a lasting impression. Would absolutely stay here again on our next trip to Kyoto! I recommend taking the taxi service the front desk offers. The check in area is close to Kyoto station but It is quite the walk from the check in location to the residence.

• Mrs (9/5): Modern conveniences in the traditional machiya building - Very interesting architecture by modernising the old "machiya". It was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was big and well provided. The bedrooms were like under the one big ceiling. It is fun as a family but some people may need a bit more privacy.

• Tuyet (9/5): It's a very traditional beautiful house and suitable for family - The house is very Japan traditional and have beautiful deco. It's also very confortable and have all that our family need. We even have some kimono sets in rooms. Bath set is full of everything. It's a little bit quiet and we will have to take a taxi to get in to the central. But it's ok with some one who enjoy silence environment.
• Verified traveler (10/5): 7인 가족이 지내기에 완벽했던 숙소 - 저희 일행은 7명이었는데 내부에서 방음이 안 된다는 점 빼고는 별다른 불편함 없이 잘 이용했습니다. 프론트데스크와 숙소가 별도의 건물이지만 체크인 과정도 매우 쉽고 짧은 거리임에도 무료로 택시를 불러주셔서 짐 옮길 걱정 없이 잘 도착했습니다. 집안은 전통적인 컨셉을 유지하면서도 신식으로 깔끔하고 예쁘게 리노베이션되어 있어서 가격이 저렴하진 않았지만 아깝다는 생각이 전혀 들지 않았습니다. 특히 욕실이 너무 이쁘고 창문을 열면 욕조에서 정원을 바라보며 목욕을 할 수 있어서 매일 아침 저녁으로 이용했습니다. 체크아웃 시에는 프론트데스크까지 다시 갈 필요 없이 카드키를 정해진 위치에 넣고오면 돼서 이런 유형의 숙소를 처음 이용해보시는 분들도 안심하고 숙박할 수 있겠다는 생각이 들었습니다. 요약하면 위치(교토역과 니시혼간지에 매우 가깝습니다.), 청결도, 편리성, 크기 등 거의 모든 부분이 흠잡을 데 없이 만족스러웠던 숙소였습니다. 다만 일행 중 취침/기상 시간이 다르거나 프라이버시에 민감한 사람이 있다면 불편하실 수 있습니다.
• Henry (9/5): Beautiful, clean, historic with modern touches in a pretty good location with excellent staff. - The property was absolutely beautiful and all the facilities were exceptional, and exceptionally clean. The wifi was about 30-40mbps down and about 25-30mbps up, so it was fast enough for HD YouTube which was great. The garden was a really nice addition and it was great being so traditional. The keycard system worked well enough and just overall it felt very “plush”. At first they gave us the wrong cards and we could not get into the property, so I had to run back and get the right cards. This was more of an inconvenience because we had walked around all of Kyoto the whole day, and in fairness to the staff, they were excellent in rectifying the issue quickly and were very professional and forgiving about that. Unfortunately the bath was difficult to use as a non-Japanese speaker, but once figured out it was fine. There was a room down the bottom which was unused during our stay, and I presume it fits beds if you went with more people, but we would have appreciated using it for slightly more privacy. Otherwise, the property was truly fantastic and a great cultural experience for our group of 4 Australians.
• Verified traveler (10/5): 京都～(^^♪ - 家族6人で利用させて頂きました。1つの居間と3つの寝室があります。お風呂も綺麗で2階にもトイレがあり良かったです。建物も風情があります。西本願寺のすぐ近くでバス停もあり京都駅迄も徒歩15分位で行けるので観光などにも便利です。コンビニも2分位の所にあります。楽しく過ごさせて頂きました。ただ近くに飲食店が無くネットなどで探しましたが週末と言う事もあってか夜の食事の予約が何処も一杯で取れませんでした。施設の方で食事の予約を取って頂けるかチェックイン時に幾つか紹介して頂けると良いと思います。全体的には満足です。お勧めできる施設です！
