- Deondra (4/5): Okay. - Our key to our door KEPT messing up. Any and every time we left our room we had to KEEP going back down the elevator to get them to reset our key. The front desk kept saying how the keys were supposed to been fixed. That’s a huge inconvenience.

I liked the size of the room. The hotel is outdated. The room and the hallway were not clean. There was cookies or some type of food that had been crumbled and smashed in the hallway a few doors down from us. The crumbles were all up and down the hallway for two days. It wasn't cleaned up Our room happened to have an oven in it. The oven was very dirty. There were not a lot of options at breakfast compared to other Townplace Suites that I have stayed at before.

- igor948 (10/5): Nice clean hotel with good service - I recently stayed at the TownePlace in Saraland for a week on business. I usually stay downtown Mobile, but this was closer to the facility at which I was working. The room was clean. The service was really top notch at the front desk (Thanks, JoLisa!). The free breakfast is what you would expect, not the best quality of offerings, but it is free. The only real drawback that I found is that there seems to be insufficient parking for the facility. If you come in late in the evening there isn't much parking available. If you are staying for any length of time in this area, I would highly recommend it. I used to stay at a competitive chain hotel across the road, but the decline in service made me look elsewhere for accommodations.

- Lydia (6/5): Not happy this time - Previously very satisfied. This stay not so much. We were consistently told that the location was understaffed. Our refrigerator didn’t work and some of our groceries spoiled. By the third day, we finally got another refrigerator in the room. There was not enough towels. We washed our own towels and reused them. I think most of all the morning that we were checking out there was a staff meeting going on and I heard the supervisor tell the staff in attendance, please make sure that everything that they need is readily available because we don’t want to lose the contract with this company. Wowww!!!!! I will never be back to this hotel again.

- Peter_A_Morrell (10/5): My Choice in Saraland for Business Travel - I was in the Mobile area earlier this year on business and looking for a hotel for a three-night stay. I checked all my hotel apps and found this Marriot Property that was highly rated and affordable for the price. The hotel looked newer and the rooms looked very modern and clean. Check-in was seamless and I found myself in a very large room. The room was set up perfectly for a business traveller. The room had USB and electrical outlets strategically placed so there were ample areas to plug in my devices. The wifi was easy to connect to and had a very strong signal, perfect for connecting through a VPN or Firewall while still being able to connect to my streaming services. The room itself was very spacious, well decorated and almost a full-sized kitchen. My bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep every night I was there. The property has many areas where guests can socialize and connect on the first floor if they don't want to just stay in their rooms. The lobby was bright with an array of tables and chairs to relax and connect to your devices. The Fitness center was above average and had a very good assortment of fitness equipment including free weights, exercise balls and multiple cardio machines. You can get a good workout in the gym. The food served at breakfast had a good assortment of hot and cold items, healthy choices and of course plenty of pastries, baked goods and very good coffee. This was the perfect location for being close to customers, and restaurants and for travelling in the area and into Mobile. I would put this hotel high on my list for future visits to the Mobile area. The only critique I have is that the rooms are very large and the TV's in the main area and the bedrooms are very small.

- bradleyt767 (6/5): Nice stay, terrible breakfast - We would have given more stars had it not been for the pitiful breakfast. Very clean hotel room, spacious, comfortable beds. Breakfast was pretty bad, they didn’t even have good coffee. No toppings for the oatmeal not that I would have eaten it. Oatmeal looked like it was made 3 days prior and concreted in the serving pan. Hardboiled eggs taste like they’ve been cooked several days ago. Soggy breakfast sandwich that was half cold/ half warmed. No fresh fruit was served. They had yogurt, but only vanilla. If you don’t care about having the included breakfast, then you will enjoy your stay.

- TravelingMarLa (10/5): The cleanest and friendliest hotel I've stayed at in YEARS! - I could not believe this hotel. I had to grab something last minute after driving 14 hours on an unplanned trip. I've never stayed at a TownePlace Suites before, but this set the bar insanely high. I arrived late at night--maybe around 11pm. I was warmly welcomed by a trainee, Kayla, and her manager whose name I think was Amanda. They recognized my status, offered me a welcome amenity (I always go for points) and confirmed my room type, etc., and asked if there was anything I needed before heading to my room. My room as IMMACULATE. I mean it was so clean you could eat off the floors, or any other corner. Bathroom, bedroom, living room, even every corner inside the fridge and under the kitchen sink were clean. The next morning I went down to grab breakfast, and greeted in such a friendly manner by the staff. I think the main lady's name was Wanda. She treated me like her own child or grandchild. I mean seriously that warm and friendly you just wanted to give her a hug! Breakfast was delicious. I had spinach quiches, muffins, fresh fruit, and juice, and grabbed an orange for later because they were amazing! Every table and seat in the room was so clean! No crumbs or residue from previous guests anywhere to be seen. Super super clean. I decided since I was apparently in some kind of hotel heaven I should tell the front desk before I left, so I went and talked with a receptionist whose name was Ashlund, and she said they really pride themselves on their service and cleanliness there. While talking to her, the woman in charge of housekeeping happened to come to the desk, so I also thanked her for how clean the hotel was. Seriously a hotel that clean in every area is more than just one person--that takes a culture of cleanliness, quality training, and quality hiring. I thanked them both, and though I don't always take time to write reviews, that level of friendliness, service, and cleanliness needed called out.
- tammyann999 (10/5): Great Hotel!!! - We stayed here for a week and it was a very nice hotel. It was quiet and the room was bigger than most other rooms we have stayed in before at other hotels. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying here if you are ever in the area. Also they have a lovely lady named Wanda who works during breakfast hours. She is so sweet and friendly. I hope they give her a raise for her hard work and for doing her job above and beyond because she was excellent. I wish all hotels were this nice and clean.
- beth070303 (6/5): Housekeeping needs help - TownPlace Suites Saraland is conveniently located right off I-65. Being close to the interstate you would expect to hear traffic but we didn’t hear any. Upon checkin, around 10pm, we were prompted assisted by Jayla. We headed up to our room, 210, and upon entering realized it had not been cleaned yet-beds were not made, trash in the garbage, etc. headed back downstairs where we were reassigned to 402. When we entered this room, it was freezing. The thermostat literally was set on 56 degrees F. Look, I like a cool room but this was ridiculous. After adjusting the temp, we realized why it was most likely so cold….the smell of weed grew stronger the warmer the room got. If we opened a drawer in the nightstand, the smell was overwhelming. Not great. This room DID have beds that were made. The rest of the room’s cleanliness left a lot to be desired. In plain sight was an air pod case on the floor by the desk. On the floor in the bathroom was a fruit snack package…again in plain sight. There was a t-shirt behind the chair. Obviously whoever serviced this room didn’t look on the floor at all. The bathroom had hairs in it. There were fresh linens so we didn’t complain. The next morning we went to breakfast. There was standard fare being offered and the woman working was friendly and helpful. Overall, the stay wasn’t terrible. The hotel appears to be new(er) so it looks nice. If the cleanliness could be improved, it would be a much better experience.
- Michal (8/5): - Overall nice hotel, however service is not always available and way below expectations, was told to request room service before 9am ( they will not do it without request), however when requested right after 8 am one of the morning’s had to wait until next day. Breakfast options limited and almost same everyday. Once found spoiled English muffin mixed in with other bread, brought that to the staff- was told “I’ll let them know” - WTH????? Stayed from Monday to Sunday. Next time in the are will look for other options.

- MarkB284 (10/5): Towneplace Suites Saraland Pretty Darn Good - The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ashlund and Amanda were especially helpful anytime we asked or needed anything. The cleaning crew/housekeeping always seemed busy and the appearance of the hotel showed it. Beds were comfortable. My only complaints would be the grills could be replaced and they were hard to light and many people used them or tried to use them. Also the washers and dryers could be updated since many people are long term residents. Also would be nice if this place had an outdoor fireplace. Overall…..I would stay here again.

Stayed again July 23. Different story. First room, door wouldn’t lock. Had to move to another room, which is all good. But the second room was filthy. I took pics. Top of refrigerator had thick coating of dust on the back half. Bathroom floors along edge so gross. Looks like someone mops with a dirty mop. Shower curtain didn’t even reach top of tub. Water would go everywhere. Left before breakfast because figured it would be no better than first time. Newer hotel but everything very cheap so it won’t be long before it is nasty.

Front desk clerk was doubling most of the time, covering from breakfast attendant, etc. Needless to say, more times than not, he/she was not at front desk. Since rooms aren’t serviced much, more is needed from the front desk like towels. Breakfast was not good. They ran out of milk. When most of the food is breads/cereal, one would at least expect milk. Paid way too much for this hotel. Room was just ok.

The hotel is just a little dated, fridge and dishwasher in our room were both a little worn. The breakfast was good. The A/C unit in our room was quite loud, but the halls were quiet.

I’m not sure what time they actually packed up at, but it was very inconvenient to leave the hotel without a single bite. We then had to find breakfast somewhere else, spending more time and money than we were hoping for. I understand they were just trying to finish up early, but if breakfast ends at 10, they should offer it until 10. Everything else was okay, housekeepers as we passed by in the hall were friendly and greeted us, which was nice. The front desk agent when we left on Saturday morning was delightful. I didn’t complain to anyone because it was not their problem, but I’m still kind of hangry.

- Lisa (6/5): checkin nightmare - when i booked this room i knew it was full. that being said i was coming in for a funeral and had asked for an early check in.We arrived about 9:30 am and was told we could not checkin till 3pm. Fortunately we had family there and was able to change in their room. We arrived back around 2:40 with my uncle who also had booked a room only to be told we still couldn't checkin till 3pm sharp. We were wanting to change clothes and relax before gathering with family. unfortunately, we were unable too due to the strict checkin time. We were told to wait until after 3 to allow the cleaning spray to dry in the room.To say the least I changed in my family's room, again. I didn't checkin till around 9 pm that nite. My Uncle canceled his room. Once in the room we noticed underneath the toilet rim is black mold/dirt. Please have that cleaned. This my first time staying at this property and am not sure if I will again.There was a young lady by the name of Linda that tried to help us when we weren't able to check in by offering us water. It took 3 times before we finally got checked in.

Very clean rooms and property and large parking area. Breakfast was hot and fresh and the coffee was great. I can't say enough positive things about our Stay here. I hope to return soon.

- 5903kl (10/5): Great staff - I stayed one night. I was originally booked for two, however AA cancelled my flight at the last minute and I was not able to arrive until the next day. I called Ashlund, the Front Desk Manager. She was kind and helpful in changing my reservation. Her outstanding courtesy and professionalism was a relief after dealing with AA. Ashlund and the other staff truly embodied Southern Hospitality. The rooms are nice and clean. Even with the reservation change, the extra blanket and dental kits I requested we in our room. This was a great stay right off of I-65. There is a seafood restaurant about 5 minutes away, Wintzel’s that is definitely worth a stop.
- NormaT79 (10/5): First time - Our son reserved room for us. We were in the area for him to run in a Spartan race. Numerous runners were staying there. Nothing but good about our stay. One of the cleanest rooms we have ever stayed in. Bed very comfortable, a/c worked well, nice living, kitchen area. Only stayed overnite. Bathroom did not have safety bar. Breakfast wasn't avaible until 7am and we had to leave at 6. We were allowed late checkout (2pm) for one room which allowed son to shower after race before flying home.

- roadrunner042113 (10/5): The most amazing staff! - Conveniently located right off the freeway & within a 1/4 mile of several local & chain restaurants as well as a Walmart supercenter. The hotel is super clean especially for a region common to cockroaches that live in the trees & grass - I never saw any inside! The daily complimentary full breakfast is hot & tasty. But the staff is the best!! Alisha, Tamiya, Robert & Ashland of the front desk, & Mary, Chelsea & Trent of the housekeeping dept, were ALL the warmest friendliest most helpful & most accommodating to my special requests & numerous questions. They literally made me cry at their individual & collective efforts to go above & beyond with customer service! Even the acoustics are great, I had a room near the elevator & ice machine but was never bothered by noise at all.
- Aaron_Trentacosta (10/5): All You Expect From A New Marriott Property - The location is well placed; close enough to shopping and eating to be convenient but set back far enough from the main roads to be quiet. It's a dual-Marriott property with a shared pool and lounge/cooking area that is well maintained. The staff was professional and the lobby was up to date and clean. The elevators (2) were quick and conveniently located right off the lobby. The room was modern and comfortable with no issues to speak of. The bed was medium-firm which was perfect for me and had plenty of pillows to keep the wife happy. Overall this is a perfect example of a proper hotel property with everything you need for a road trip stop.
