Guest Reviews
- Connie (8/5): We have been coming here for years and known the staff and the area quite well. - Location, location, location! We love being able to walk downtown. We also enjoy the pool area and fire pit. Elevator wait time.
- Dale (6/5): As far as as far as my experience with Marriott hotels, this place was substandard - The bedrooms were fine. The shower was good. There was a number of things that happen at the hotel that was not acceptable. One they overbooked my room by two other people and I had booked two rooms and the other room was booked to someone else and to my party as well that was confusing number two. The coffee machine wasn’t working. There was a missing piece so I couldn’t make my own coffee in the morning number three the way I learned that they overbooked my room with someone else trying to get in it twice. They tried to get him. Luckily I had to double lock on it and then the front desk called couldn’t find me and their system that took several minutes and then they did and then they apologize that happened about 8 o’clock at night. The elevator broke down so it wasn’t the best stay at Marriott that I’m used to.
- Shalendra (10/5): Excellent!!! - Very clean and spacious. Very close to everything One of the elevators weren’t working correctly
- David (9/5): Exelente hotel solo le falta desayuno incluido - Todos es muy bueno No tiene desayuno incluido.
- 222Davina (10/5): Thank you Jane - Courtyard DeLand - Jane was amazing!!! She saved the day on behalf of Courtyard Marriott DeLand!
- LindaAE (10/5): Great Hotel@! - They had a great girl's trip to historic Deland!! Perfect location within walking distance to everything. Kelly, our server, has really made our trip extra enjoyable with drinks and snacks!!
- Lisa (9/5): -
- M (8/5): It was a great location for the cancer walk. - Everything was great, we paid more than we have before it was kind of expensive for Deland. Everything was great but our showerhead did not work great, we did tell the staff at checkout. Maybe offer people that were staying a discount for the cancer walk, that would be a nice promotion for friends and family traveling there for the walk. I'm sure we were not the only people that flew in and then paid a fair amount for a room.
- cuerndy (10/5): Thankful for a professional staff and great stay - Very much enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard. Check-in was easy and the desk clerk was friendly and efficient. We didn't have a reservation since this was a last minute stay. No problem.
When we returned home we realized we had left an I-pad and Chomebook in the safe. I immediately called the hotel and spoke to Murray, a wonderful person. He had the safe checked immediately even though it was 3:00 in the afternoon and a busy time. He gave me instructions on how to send a shipping label to him, packed the computers in bubble wrap, boxed them up and got them to us. We are so grateful we didn't have to take the 4 hour round trip drive.
The room had 2 queen beds, a comfortable chair and desk with office chair. The bathroom was large, the towels in excellent condition and enough storage. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The lobby has a bar area with cool seating options. Very pleasant look.
The location if terrific. Easy walk to restaurants, bars and 3 breweries.
- Hayley (5/5): - Nice location Starbucks didn’t have really any drinks you could get. They were out of everything. The staff didn’t change the sheets but said they would. Didn’t come in and clean but once and I stayed 7 days and 7 nights. Fridge didn’t work.

- Katarzyna (6/5): -
- Mercedes (9/5): Excellent location. - Beautiful facility. Comfortable and spacious room. Some conversation and TV from room next door could be heard at 3 am.
- Martha (8/5): -
- william (6/5): - Location Too noisy
- DiverM (8/5): Decent visit - We enjoyed staying right next to the Deland art festival and downtown. They do charge about $11 parking and breakfast does not come with the room as is the case with some competitors. The rooms are reasonably nice. The pool was ice cold so we wish it was heated and we wished they had a jacuzzi.
- Dr. Stephen (10/5): Relaxing environment - Lobby area N/A
- mlcdpt (8/5): Great location, otherwise average - Location is excellent and the staff were very friendly.
There is no free breakfast and the room coffee is horrible. Felt odd to pay for parking at our hotel and the shower needed some serious mold/mildew removal.
You’re staying here for the location.
- Isaiah (9/5): - Great hotel - large rooms, helpful staff and perfect location
- missmaloym (8/5): Good service, modern and clean. In house bar and great location - Had a nice stay at this courtyard…. It seems to be one of the newer properties. It had a modern and sleek design. I like that this property had a very large and nice lounge reception area. They also have a bar located inside the hotel. It is also conveniently located right in the downtown district so there are many shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance. The check-in was quick and easy . The room was clean and the bed slept comfortably. The shower was nice and large. I would return.
- Gary (10/5): - Once again Marriott got it right, they never let me down. The Hotel was spotless and the service was top notch.
- Kevin (8/5): - Room was very nice and so were most of the facilities, with exception of the Bistro and breakfast, which was lacking in options and quality. Paid $24 for microwaved omelette, cup of yogurt, bagel and 2 cups of coffee.
- Laura (8/5): - Good location and good hotel
Needs a bar
- Tanya (10/5): - Very clean and convenient
- Jochen (10/5): - Great room with walk-in-shower. Loved it!
- Megan (4/5): - Pool was closed. They said there’s a restaurant in a Starbucks on site but it never opened and it had a sign in the morning that there was breakfast from 6 to 9 when we went down at 8:45 everything was closed. There’s a small pool it’s outside. It was closed by 8:30. I usually stay at Marriott. I’m always usually really happy. I’m not gonna lie. This is the most disappointing one I’ve ever stayed at and then I had to go find somebody to try to check out.
- Kurt (9/5): Angemessen - Habe nicht gefrühstückt, zentrale Lage Fällt mir gerade nichts ein
- Mike (10/5): - Good
- Jeanpaul (10/5): - Great hotel that is well kept next to downtown deland.
- Kontsept (8/5): -
- Carli (2/5): Very Disappointing - The TV didn't work in our room along with the electrical outlets. The bathroom did not look clean either. I was pretty disappointed as this is a Marriott hotel. The staff seemed to not be available when trying to get resolution for the TV and outlets not working. We were told the maintenance person would come fix it but never showed up. I was not satisfied with this visit at all.
- Jennifer (10/5): Cozy and clean visit - Great location and a beautiful lobby; very warm and relaxing.
- Philip (9/5): -
- Karen (8/5): -
- Shirley (8/5): - Customer service was good.the bed was really comfortable. Thought should not charge for parking overnight at all. Convenient being around eateries. Very quiet with large rooms. Would be nice to have microwave in rooms. Think overpriced in Bistro & Market on certain items. Would stay again!
- David (10/5): - We met our sis in law here on our way to Daytona. Love the little town! We walked to the sandwich shop down the street and it was delicious! Hotel was quiet and our room with the balcony was just right, a little noisy but it was still great.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Check ‘breakfast included’ option before booking - Clean place, friendly staff, super downtown location, room was next to the road which woke us up at 530am. I specifically clicked on the ‘breakfast included’ option on Hotels.com website but then was charged almost $50 when ordering breakfast, so the review would be 4 stars but Hotels.com did a bait and switch on me.
- DJ (10/5): Quick 2 night stay, clean and respectful - Clean facilities. Clean fitness room and pool area. Respectful staff. Fire alarm randomly went off at midnight but no actual fire thankfully.
- Dwayne (10/5): Great place except for parking and the smell in the hallway - Good value we were traveling with a canine there is a $50.00 dollar cleaning fee. It’s the lowest in fl.room was super clean with plenty of towels. They have a nice free breakfast. Great value for the money. Three things one the parking is tight we drove our f150 pickup and there is on one entrance and exit to the hotel so you may get a parking spot a long way from the door. Second we were on the 5 floor so it’s a bit of a hike to get outside with no room to take our dog to do his business. Third the carpet on the fifth floor in the hallway was dirty and smelled sour it hits you as soon as you stepped out of the elevator. You cannot smell it in the room but as soon as you open the door bam hits you like a baseball bat. It’s the only thing we did not like about this hotel.
- JEFF (6/5): - The location is great. Charging for parking is unacceptable, on that note I will not return.
- Ivy (10/5): - Rooms were clean, comfortable and enjoyed the restaurant/bar in lobby.
- Erik (8/5): Mostly as expected, but with some annoying draw backs. - The balcony was useless because of the extreme noise 24/7 from the street.
The presentation picture showed a swimming pool much larger than reality.
The shop by the reception were out of wine.
Some of the baggage trolleys had deflated wheels and were out of use.
- Melody (7/5): Because we didn’t book locally, we did not get our Marriot Bonvoy points. - Location, clean, the woman at the front desk went out of her way to help. Duvet too heavy for 90 plus temperature. Shower slippery. For the second time in a row, no hot breakfast. The girl had to leave early. I’m a diabetic. I needed something to eat to take my medicine before attending a funeral.
- Janashia (10/5): -
- Jeffrey (8/5): Not ready for business travelers - The kitchen/bar is only open for breakfast. In spite of the web-site advertising and signage all over the lobby area to the contrary. Also, my upgrade to a "city view" room was on the 2nd floor and the view of a 5-story building and an empty parking lot was not what I envisioned. And no coffee in the lobby before 6:30 on business days.
- Ltracy (10/5): - Easy check in, clean rooms, and superb customer service
- Alison (4/5): - Third time staying and Everytime the bar has no one working it over weekends.
- Todd (10/5): - Nice town
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (2/5): Very poor - Thw fire alarm went off middle of night apparently it happened night before also
- Jason (6/5): - Place was dirty.
- JohnG36 (10/5): Nice stay. Great location. - Friendly staff throughout our stay. Nice breakfast quick service restaurant option in the lobby. Very close to campus (walking) as well as walking to tons of restaurants and shops. Tons of working space in the lobby with various types of furniture.
- Colon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (8/5): C - - Entrance and exterior property, clean and elevators good condition. However, my room had a live bug and breadcrumbs from the previous guest on the floor. And bathroom shower tiles not all white.
- Susan (8/5): - Couldn’t really use the pool for hours. A large family was celebrating a birthday and pretty much took up all the chairs, loaded the pool area, and played music so loud you couldn’t enjoy the time there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Did me Dirty - I was placed in a hadicap hearing impaired room ... which seemed odd that this wouldnt be savwd for someoe with disabilities but ....so be it ...the room itself was fine but it was little things that stood out .... like the television remote was broken making it impossible to change the channel ... so i used my phone and my laptop ...inconvenient but ok .... what ended up irritating me was that the shower did not work .... the divertor valve from tub to shower head was inoperable and just spun .... i went to the deak to try and get another room to shower in only to find it unmanned . I didnt have time to continue to addrss the situation without being late for my morning meeting so i ended up just leaving ..... as i exited the property the desk was still unmanned
- Sonya (8/5): Hotel good/Manager NOT! - The hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are clean, but the general manager was less than friendly when I had a question regarding my bill through hotels.com. If business is slow, he maybe the reason. IDK
- 510LauraG510 (10/5): Great location and friendly staff -- would stay again - We had a very good stay this time at the Marriott. A lot of concerns from in the past seem to have been fixed! The room was nice and clean, the side we were on was quiet, the pool was great, the front desk and staff at the Starbucks inside were really nice and helpful (and the Starbucks was open both in the morning and evening). The only drawback is the charge for parking.
- Silviano (10/5): - It was a very nice stay, and the staff was very friendly.
- Lisa (10/5): - I have stayed at this property 2 years in row for my daughter's UDA Dance Camp at Stetson University and I absolutely love this hotel. Bedding is amazing, bathroom is amazing. Staff is super friendly and the hotel has been extremely quiet for a June stay. Will definitely be back next year.
- Nancy (8/5): - My stay was fine, but not getting fresh towels every day was surprising. On the last day I saw the tiny print on the bathroom door hanger that said if I wanted new towels to throw them on the floor. I had them on the tub and shower curtain rod, but I guess not good enough. I don't normally throw them on the floor except on the last day, as I don't do that at home! The bathroom mirror wasn't well lit, in my opinion, nor was the room. None of the lights on the TV wall came on, not even the desk lamp! Pretty dark for paperwork. The bathroom light switches: I could see flickering light/wires behind the left switch, looks unsafe!
- Charles (10/5): Exceptional -
- Angel (10/5): - Nice
- Miho (10/5): - Spacious room and very clean. We had a very nice stay.
- Mary (6/5): - Staff was very good and helpful. No housekeeping daily-had to go to front desk everyday for additional supplies and clean towels. Pool area not cleaned daily.
- Chuck (10/5): - Older property, but very well maintained.
- Texan102 (10/5): - Great Location with Plenty of Restaurants and things to do within walking Distance
- John (6/5): Expensive and poor in several aspects. - Location Cost - nearly $800 for two nights but no water in room, no milk or creamer, cost of parking, dust on drink glasses, all three shower bottles were empty, in room aircon units sound like a train when coming on each time during the night. Ground floor women’s toilet used by gym and pool users as well as arriving guests was out of service the whole time and is the only disabled toilet on the ground floor.
- Patricia (6/5): - The room was clean but most of the outlets would not hold a plug.
The kitchen staff was a no show at breakfast so we went to a nice bagel place down the street.
Marriot- you can do better!
- Stephanie (5/5): I probably would not stay there again not for that money. I can go somewhere cheaper and better. - The room was updated and the proximity to downtown. I had paid for the breakfast voucher and when checking in, we were not given the breakfast voucher and it wasn’t until we went for breakfast and we were asking about the breakfast and that’s when they told me I’m supposed to have a voucher so I went back to the front desk and they had them sitting right there But it’s like why wouldn’t you call up to our room and say oh we have your breakfast vouchers here, We forgot to give it to you at checkin. As compensation, they offered me two bottles of water. Then the lady that took our order she wasn’t that friendly. Also the king bed is not truly a king size bed. It’s more like a queen size. For the price of the hotel, I expected a lot more.
- Aaron (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): - The door in the bathroom wouldn’t close
- Nitza (8/5): Visiting for our granddaughter recital.it was very convenient - Nice and comfy beds Shower was difficult to adjust water
- Richard (8/5): - The only issue we had was with the bistro. The service was lacking and the hours were limited.
- Danny (10/5): - We needed to be close to the Stetson campus and you couldn’t ask for a better location. It’s walking distance to the campus and to the downtown area where there were lots of cool and different shops and places to dine. There was also some kind of arts and crafts type festival going on Friday night but not sure if that’s all the time or we just timed it right. Staff was very nice and professional and attentive to our needs. Overall a great experience and we’d definitely stay there again.
- Matilde (10/5): - Room nice and clean. We stayed only for ine night. But we are thinking about coming back since my son was admitted to Stetson University. This hitel is ver close to campus and the servicebis cery near
- Suresh (2/5): - Ok
- Deborah (10/5): - Location was very convenient for walking the center of Deland.
- B4907RElancem (6/5): Clip joint and I recommend you go somewhere else for breakfast and prepare for a wet floor in the b bathroom - Shower designed to spray water on floor, only half enclosed by glass… bizarre
Breakfast… $13 for a burrito, $4.75 for coffee (no refill) , $16 eggs…. Are you kidding me?
These were the two surprises for me on my trip to Deland to visit family
Beware when you check in that you’ll be nickeled and dime to death
I think the outrageous price for breakfast is what put this over the top for me as a complete disappointment
Although the staff was courteous, and the gym was decent, the gouging turned me off to this place
I’ll probably stay at the Hampton Inn the next time I’m in the area. I’m alienated and shocked by the fact that Marriott does this.
- Karen (4/5): Nothing special - This property is in a great location and the front desk staff are usually very pleasant and welcoming, however, this is my second time staying here within the past couple of months and both times there has been hair strands in the bathroom and it's clear the bathrooms were not cleaned after the previous guest checked out. Also, don't pay for breakfast. They only offer breakfast until 9:30am which is really early to stop breakfast. I missed it 2 of the 3 days and when I was early enough, the kitchen staff, with a bit of an attitude, told me they were busy cooking for a wedding so I could not order breakfast but that they had prepared sandwiches if I wanted one.
- Maximillion (6/5): What was going on with this once great hotel?! - We have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Historic DeLand before and it was great. This time not so much. Bathroom door did not close and tv did not work. The management is at fault here as the lack of employees is not fair to the guests or the employees. No one was there to fix the tv or the door as the employees to do that were out or gone for the day. Also there was another guest shouting at the front desk employee (Yikes!) Not a good look Marriott.
- Nicole (2/5): Not what i expected - Called to try to get an early check in due to arriving a bit earlier than expected however, we were told that our room was not available, which was OK so we asked while we waited if we could use the pool area or the restaurant until our room came available we were told no to call back later and see the room was available. After exploring around town a little bit and getting some food, we decided to head over to the hotel to see if the room was available at this time. We did have a room available for early check-in, but we were told that the restaurant was shut down due to the Person running it went on maternity leave so therefore they were scrambling to find someone to work. It would’ve been nice to know this before as having a restaurant lounge area was part of the reason we booked the hotel. Our room was decent however, the bathroom was not very clean. You could see mold growing all over the shower area. We went down to use the pool for a bit it was very unwelcoming unkept over brush everywhere just very unappealing. We did not stay down there very long overall would not recommend this hotel to anyone we know or stay here ever again.
- Carla (10/5): - A
- Jacob (10/5): - Best place to stay in downtown DeLand
- Peter (5/5): Passable -
- Inspire61587280813 (10/5): Nice surprise - We were very comfortable here.
It was our first time visiting Deland.
Clean, convenient to downtown.
Very close to Stetson University.
Starbucks in the lobby is a little slow.
Emma at the front desk is a 5 star employee.
She was always pleasant and helpful.
- Samantha (8/5): - .
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christopher (8/5): Nice Stay Close to Parks and Bicycle Rides - Very nice stay at the hotel. Location was excellent for us and the hotel and room were clean and well kept. There was remodeling happening on the ground floor but it was well hidden.
Our main interests were springs and bicycle rides in the area and this hotel / location was excellent.
The only thing I would change is request a room opposite the main street. It's not busy but with the emphasis on who can make the most noise with their car or motorcycle, the balcony gets noisy. The sliding door does keep the noise out so we slept very well.
- Alberto (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (10/5): - Great place to stay! Staff excellent, very clean and updated!
