Guest Reviews
- Balu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jorge (2/5): Very poor -
- Arshdeep (8/5): It was great, staff is so good and helpful, if you want no ac and want affordable options , it is one of them, safe and - Overall good for affordable housing I liked everything but it’s the common issue in sayulita about the water supply which was out of service one night otherwise all good
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - Communication was excellent. Staff went out of their way, over and above, to accommodate my needs and ensure everything was copacetic. Would DEFINITELY return!! Bathroom shower/sink only had cold water, which ordinarily isn't bad, but the mornings were a little cool for an icy cold shower. Instant-heat (electric tankless water heater) shower would fx that easily and inexpensively!
- Eric (4/5): Could be nice but it’s just not - The property is well located in the center part of town. It is not maintained at all. It appears that they have just given up. This place could be nice, but everything is worn down, paint peeling, threadbare.
- Gnanaprakasam (8/5): Very good - The place is located in the center place The room is very small for what I have paid for it and additional change for pets
- Aine (8/5): Very good -
- Tina (10/5): Incredible - Magdalena and her son are very friendly and were making sure to have what i needed at all times All good
- Daniel (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in Sayulita with our very friendly southern neighbors. - Lovely hosts. Great location. Wonderful people. Fantastic weather.
- Adrian (10/5): Great location, value, worth for solo travellers, budget friendly - Very cool layout, simple accommodation, friendly staff, bare bones but nice Wifi was spotty but workable
- Shirley (10/5): Would stay there again! - The staff was super friendly, it was quiet and super close to town.
- Jocelyn (8/5): We had a great stay- the beautiful courtyard is peaceful and convenient for families wiith small children. Nice to meet - The shared courtyard with plunge pool is beautiful and charming. The Moroccan decor is a great vibe! Having a shared kitchenette is handy too. Very quiet area but close enough to everything. It could use a deep clean and a few minor repairs but for those wanting affordable accommodation this place is great.
- Carolyn (7/5): Good - Quite funky, very basic, excellent location and value
- Emily (4/5): Disappointing - This was listed as a 4 star hotel but is a hostel.
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manzanares (8/5): Very good -
- Barbara (7/5): OK - location was good. Noise late at night from other visitors.
The double bed was to small for me and my husband.
- Crystal (9/5): Great family vibe hotel in cool Mexican-Middle Eastern style surroundings - Felt very family oriented, shared courtyard for all and daily chats with the other guests and the mother and son who run the place. It’s close to everything, had very soft cotton sheets and was clean. This is my 4th year staying here and I can tell that some maintenance needs to be done.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was very friendly.
and everything was very nice and clean.
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Kisses (8/5): Good overall - The check in was easy and the services were excellent. The hot/cold water shower can be improved. Definitely no AC. This is a hostel so you can expect some noise and typical hostel things but overall it was quiet and people respected the quiet hours during night time.
- Kyle (8/5): Very good - The staff and location word out perfectly
- Robbin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Audrey (4/5): Disappointing -
- Juan (5/5): Not to good because it does not look good - No break fast was served Shower head and water to have a shower
- Francisco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marcus (8/5): Very good -
- Sergio (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (9/5): Perfect location, great price, good facilities - Great facilities and lovely people
- Medrano (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jérémie (10/5): Good value - Good for the cheapest Too hot
No drinkable water
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Diego (10/5): Exceptional -
- Connie (9/5): Superb -
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - Great Location and staff was super nice. Magdalena was very friendly and helpful in getting me a room that suited my needs and allow me to have space for my dog. You could hear the neighbors a bit. Nothing too awful but if you were a light sleeper, I’d bring earplugs
- Maritza (4/5): Will never book again in this hotel will not recommend. - Location was great just walking distance from the plaza, restaurants and beach loved walking. We didn’t get the room I reserved, no water and staff took a while to reply sometimes I just wouldn’t get a replay back when we texted we need it assistance. I little pricey for what they offer no onsite staff and no water.
- Cherith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Santiago (10/5): Amazing! - The decorations! Everything was ok, but I think it just needs modern AC
- Jan (3/5): Noisy and dark room - Good location and clean Dark and noisy room. Top part of the bathroom wall completly open and next to the entrance and kitchen so you would hear everything and everybody even from the street. In the mornings there was no hot water
- Joanne (9/5): Superb -
- Torres (5/5): Staff is awesome! - Location is great! Very thin walls and struggled with the hot/cold shower
- Luigi (6/5): Good location, just a place to sleep when visiting sayulita. - Good location in north side. Nice staff offering daily cleaning. Walls are thin ( can hear neighbours) , bad smell in the room from plumbing, overpriced for this basic accomodation.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Great experience! Perfect for a budget traveler. Good value! - It was close to the bus station.
- Airmark (8/5): Very good -
- Dana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Álvaro (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (6/5): Pleasant - Pleasant
Liked my room For the price, I will return
- Samuel (8/5): Very good -
- Eva (7/5): Good - It was a nice stay. The room doesn’t have any windows and is a little bit smelly but nothing extremely wrong. Everything was clean and safe.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (8/5): Good - We booked last minute, so were happy with the flexible check in time. Bed was very comfortable! And available drinking water in the kitchen was very appreciated. Showerhead build up could probably be cleaned. Soap in the bathroom would be nice.
- Sofia (7/5): Good - Loved all the plants around The first room was awful before we switched. Barely enough room for the bed, leaky shower, only a fan, was so hot from a big window.
- Jonas (4/5): Very cheap option for a night or two with bit much to expect - You get what you pay for. It is a very cheap option to stay a night or two. Staff was always available, early check in was possible too and worked without problems. Our room only had a fan what made the night very hot. Beds and room were clean. The hotel itself is quite old and doesn't have much charm neither a vibe or anything. The common kitchen is totally used and I was not sure about using it. Was verg dirty as well. The room was very hot at night time and the ventilator could only help a little. As well we had to smoke out the room with mosquito repellent as there were just too many. Even if the room was clean the other areas were low maintaince and facilities quite old what gives more the impression of a place that is not well taken care of.
- Hubert (8/5): enjoyable - Close to everything It was basic but have what we needed
- Georgia (8/5): Cute little stay - Cute little spot and the check-in and staff were easy going. Clean and comfortable bed. We went in peak heat and definitely missed having Aircon but the fan in the room was pretty decent
- Stéfanie (7/5): Good - Quiet place. the staff was nice The pool didn’t work, the fan on the ceiling was hard to make it work, the drain in the shower didn’t work properly so we had a lot of water on our feet while taking a shower and for the person after.
- Manuela (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deb (2/5): not the best - The young lady that greeted me was very nice. It was very noisy. I could here people in the next room very clearly.
I found it very expensive for what I received.
One day we had no water but I understand they were repairing. It was touching go whether or not I also got any hot water.
- Kime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (8/5): Very good -
- Owen (10/5): Exceptional - Close to beach
- Ty (9/5): Short stay at a great place. - The shower, location, and hospitality. I liked everything.
- Aaron (3/5): Poor - Staff being loud at 6.30 in the morning with no respect for people sleeping.
- Wallace (7/5): Good - staff are great and location. I have friends that love this hotel and go every year, but I think our stay was bad because we got the last room available... it had no windows and felt like a cell. But I liked everything else. Theres a good shared kitchen and staff and location was great. And close to the bus station also. I think if you dont get that room we had, it should be a good modest place to stay. The point is, ask to see it or a photo or for more details first haha.
- Frédéric (7/5): Good - convenience no A/C
- Andrea (8/5): For the price it was great. - Location was great and the so was the price.
- Ridewood (7/5): Good -
- Anna (8/5): Very good - The place was very charming and the location was great. Staff were friendly and it was nice to have the use of a kitchen. Zero sound proofing meant extreme lack of privacy for neighbouring rooms and the 11 quiet posting was not enforced by management.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Pleasant atmosphere. Nada
- Glenda (7/5): we enjoyed our stay - location and price we’re awesome the rooms were very bright is our only complaint.
- Brigitte (6/5): a total adventure. - it was very unique. not what you were expecting. facilities could be updated
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Trish (5/5): you get what you pay for - cute, conveniently located, close to the beach, staff were very accommodating. room was very damp and musty, little bugs in the sheets, also got into my knapsack and clothes 😳😢
- Garrett (8/5): Very good -
- Ariel (4/5): Away from the noise of central Sayulita, a relatively quiet, very rustic place to stay with drawback - I arrived on the later side and the staff (Paula) did a great job of walking me through the process of getting through the gate and guiding me to my room, she was really friendly and patient. The room was pretty much the same as what was advertised in the site’s photos. I felt very comfortable leaving my belongings in the room while I was away because the security of the locale and of the room is attended to quite nicely in my opinion. There was an unpleasant odor in my room that smelled of sewer, so I closed the lid of the toilet in the hopes it would dissipate, but unfortunately it did not. At the same time, I noticed that a puddle would somehow appear on the floor of the bathroom and I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from until I finally noticed a crack in the wall toward the floor and I suspect there was a leak on the other side of the wall, possibly the origin of the malodorous smell that I had to put up with during my stay. Also, while I prefer a form mattress, this bed was very hard and the pillow were like rocks. I was thankful to only spend two nights there and would not like to return.
- Roger (6/5): On the whole very good but overcharged by booking.com for what i got. - Liked the quaint Lola and the area...was quiet and interesting. The renters were from all over the world which was also interesting. Access to everything was close and very good. Paid to Booking.com for a two room kitchenette included in reservation. Got a single room with a shared kitchen. Booking.com has to do more research on the accomodations before you sell and charge your customers???????
- Mary (3/5): it was a nightmare there. we had to book somewhere else. - absolutely nothing. I messaged you to te you how bad it was. no one got back to me. we had to check out and find other accommodation. it was dirty. nothing like the pictures.
- Csdeluca (4/5): My stay was unfortunate - The location was great The room smelled like sewage
- Chris (4/5): Pay a few bucks more to stay in more comfortable accommodations - Location. It’s in the part of Sayu. A few steps away is a lovely french bakery (i know, this is mexico, but it was still great). If you want to rent a golf cart there’s a place around the corner. It’s seen better days. I’ve stayed at hostels all over the world and this spot was downright depressing. If the owners just gave it a facelift and some TLC it could be a gem.
Pool had no water.
Bedroom was dark and needed a paint job.
Shower water was a trickle.
No one really greeted me at check in. A woman walked me to my room and gave me a code for the front entrance (she didn’t speak english which is fine, so she showed me on her phone).
- Gerry (10/5): Exceptional - Location and cleanliness, staff was very nice letting us checking in early. Everything was perfect, just the part of the property where we stayed felt a bit dark, that corridor needs to be light up.
- Laura (8/5): Beautiful terrace at Riad Lola, making a great stay in Sayulita - Great location super close to the beach and with shops, cafes and bars nearby, but also just far enough away from the main square that it was quiet.
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Anne (7/5): Good -
- Kelvin (4/5): One night is enough. Move on - Door jam was broken into before our trip.
One force of the door would pop the mske shift door jam off of the wall
We moved the bed to block the door at night
No hot water. No supplied soap
Sump pump keep going on offall night
Definately bare minimum Quite away from the busy party all night area
- Pauline (7/5): Basic hotel, decent price, good location - It's a very basic hotel but served our needs. I liked the location (only a 6-minute walk from busy downtown) and the shower was surprisingly hot and powerful. The bed was comfy. The walls are thin, so if people are talking outside, you hear it all. The bathroom wall doesn't actually reach the ceiling so if there's two of you--be sure you know each other really well. :) The room also wasn't ready when we checked in at 3 pm. You can leave your luggage after checkout, but there's no storage room or anything, you just leave it in the lobby behind some chairs, so don't leave anything valuable.
- Polly (3/5): Poor - The woman on reception was terrible, I arrived at 3pm (check in time) she told me to wait for 20 mins whilst they prepare the room and then came back in 50 minutes with no apology.
There was no hot water.
Each room has a doorbell but the walls are paper thin so every doorbell sounds like yours.
Would not recommend and I’m not picky
- Aiden (7/5): Good - close to downtown but far enough away you didn’t stay up lacked a good community space, just needs a bigger table in the courtyard
- Zongmin (1/5): we couldn’t wait to leave . - Honestly it was the worth hotel I've ever stayed .the hotel was over priced hard to get into the building ,no hot water or water at all.the room was very small and dirty . nothing it was durable . I’ve seen hostels way better then this hotel .
- William (6/5): Cheap & great location, but in desperate need of proper maintenance. - Location was great, only a few blocks from the center of town, on a quiet road, the price is decent, has a cute courtyard with tables and open sunlight and the WiFi worked quite well. The cleaning ladies on staff are kind and hospitable and offer to clean your room every day at no extra cost. Property is considerably older than it looks in the photos so just be aware of this and very minimal up keep is done. My sink leaked, my shower head was faulty, lots of rust, bed linens do not fit the bed, the kitchen is a tiny thing behind the reception desk.
- Annika (8/5): Very good -
- Kori (9/5): Buen lugar por un buen precio! - Great price/location comfy bed & hot water! nada
- Christopher (6/5): Pleasant - We could changed our room after the 2. Night, because of the waterpump. In front of our room was a water pump, which was really loud at night. Even the guy, who is working there was working at midnight in a room next to us. And at the moment, there is a construction site at the other side of the street.
- Chloe (8/5): Very good - Good location and affordable. The beds in my opinion are horribly uncomfortable. Fridge and kitchen could use a good cleaning. It was a bit awkward not having a door on the bathroom.
- Melksham (9/5): Superb -
- Lucia (8/5): Overall it was good but there was a lump of hair in the shower when we got there and it stayed there the whole stay - Nice location Cleaning could have been better
- Jack (7/5): Short and sweet despite the inflated price. - Good location and very comfortable bed. Owners very accommodating in terms of instructions to follow on my late arrival. I didn't get to actually speak to any staff members the following day to explore maybe staying longer. The room had a rustic feel but is designed for groups traveling on a budget and was far too expensive and big for one person. It was way overpriced for what it is considering I was alone.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (9/5): Superb -
