Sammenlignet med et hotel midt i Reykjavik til samme pris, hvor hotellet var “up to date”, hyggeligt, en god stemning og fælles område hvor vi om aftenen kunne side med vores rejse-venner, synes vi det var slidt og upersonligt til den pris.

• S (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed staying here, staff was excellent, clean and quiet rooms, and amazing breakfast. - Location was stunning, nestled in between 2 hills, amazing scenery. Breakfast far exceeded my expectations, it was incredible! I failed to realize check out was 10am, staff called while we were hiking to the Navy Plane wreck site, they graciously extended our check-out to 1100. I would highly recommend Hotel Burfall. There was nothing that I disliked. We did have an issue with Wi-fi, the name/password wasn’t the same on the welcome sheet. Not a big deal.

• Mireya (8/5): Muy aconsejable - Es un hotel pequeño muy cerca de Vik, en un entorno muy tranquilo, cerca de los acantilados de Dyrhólaey y a poca distancia de la playa de arena negra de Reynisfjara. Las camas y las almohadas son cómodas, la calefacción muy potente, aunque no hay radiadores que, tal cual es el tiempo en Islandia, vendrían muy bien por si se necesitara secar alguna prenda. No hay posibilidad de cenar en el hotel, aunque hay alguna máquina de vending. Sin embargo, el desayuno buffet, que va incluido en el precio, es bastante decente. El personal es muy amable y servicial. El baño esta limpio, el agua sale con mucha presión, si quieres. Todo está muy limpio. Hay parking gratuito, aunque es normal por lo que se paga por la habitación El summum fue que vimos auroras boreales.

• Lisa (7/5): Fijne verblijfplaats in de buurt van Vík - De ligging is prachtig. Wij hadden het geluk dat we het Noorderlicht vanaf deze locatie konden zien. Het ontbijt was uitgebreid en prima. De kamers netjes en ruim. Goede locatie in de buurt van Dyrolaey en Reynisfjara. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding. Als je aankomt heb je kans dat er niemand bij de balie zit voor in te checken.

Room was comfortable and spacious The winds were so high causing a metal flap outside the window to bang all night. Not sure what purpose it serves but if possible to get it stabilized that’d be nice to allow sleep. Maybe even an hour later for checkout would allow a later breakfast as well - I was finding myself forcing to wake up to get breakfast before missing it

• Zoe (10/5): Warm and comfortable, great base for exploring the local area - Peaceful, secluded location, but easy to get to by car. Good for exploring the Vik area. Large, warm and comfortable room, and we felt they went the extra mile. Breakfast was delicious and had lots of choices. Nothing!

• Hongyu (10/5): - This room was super comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing — it totally exceeded my expectations. They had everything from coffee and bread to bacon, eggs, and fruit — a perfect way to fuel up for the whole day. If it fits your budget, I’d definitely recommend staying here.

• Valeska (7/5): Ruhige Unterkunft in top Lage - Die Zimmer sind geräumig, es gibt ein einfaches aber leckeres Frühstücksbuffet. Die Lage ist top, abseits der Strasse und trotzdem schnell in Vìk. Einfaches Ein- und Auschecken mit Türschloss. Die Angestellten sind unglaublich nett. Die Zimmer sehr sauber! Sie haben bei unserer Anreise einen weiteren Teil des Hotels gebaut, alles Leute von dort (evtl. der Manager?) Hut ab, sehr tolle Leistung! Sehr dünne Wände, wenn Leute früh los sind (oder den Code ihrer Tür nicht wussten und die Tür "error" sagte) hatte man einen unruhigen Schlaf. Die Handtücher wurden immer gewechselt (muss ja nicht sein, wenn man es z.B. aufhängt). Die Einrichtung ist sehr schlicht, vielleicht etwas zu kühl.
• Wenxi (8/5): Nice experience - The breakfast is great. We were worried about self-check in yet the reception has left us with a quite straightforward instruction. We find our room and wifi password in a short time. The room for us is quite big and has a beautiful view. The ladies by the reception in the next morning are sooo nice :) and tell us a lot about the weather that day. Our bathroom has a wired smell. And a little cold by night.

• Kristina (9/5): - Great place to stay in the middle of nowhere, but still close to Vik. The rooms are fine, everything was clean, there's a kettle in the room and a microwave in the shared area. There's also a vending machine if you crave a midnight snack. The breakfast is served in a separate building, it's a classic buffet, everything was fresh and tasty. The only staff we saw was actually during breakfast time, they were very friendly and kind.

• Raymond (6/5): - The hotel receives three and a half stars out of five but we found thst over generous. It claims a 24/7 reception but there was no one in reception when we arrived. Our room number and access code were written on a folded (and sealed) piece of paper. The rooms are in a seperate block with a vending machine and microwave just jnside the entrance. Not what we were expecting for 3.5 stars. The carpet in the hallway is quite old and there are stairs down to the last few rooms, making it a little difficult to navigate with heavy roller cases. The room was clean but very basic. Their was a message apologizing that the TV had no connection and saying that the hotel was waiting for a service person to fix the problem. This was in October. We looked at other reviews from June that talked of the same problem! The wifi did work well tho', so we watched "TV" on our laptop. Some of the 5 star reviews were given because of excellent restaurant food. That seems to be based on recommendations to a local restaurant. The hotel does not serve diner. Breakfast was good, with lots of fresh fruit, meats and cheeses, and hot food etc. The breakfast staff were very helpful.
• Huib (6/5): Prima hotel nabij Vik - Er was weinig omgevingslicht zodat we het noorderlicht en de sterren konden zien. Het hotel was ook redelijk dichtbij Vik. Verder was het prima maar weinig sfeer. De kamer was schoon maar gedateerd. Het ontbijt was ook prima. De aankleding en sfeer.

• Delphine (5/5): Hôtel étape, correct, mais impersonnel - Hôtel correct, mais impersonnel (dommage car il y a du potentiel...). Chambre propre (mais très minimaliste), petit déjeuner correct. Hôtel adapté pour une nuit d'étape. Certes dans un beau paysage, mais isolé (il y a un distributeur automatique à l’entrée pour des boissons ou snacks). Il faut se rendre à Vik pour avoir quelques restaurants (environ 25 minutes de route). Nous conseillons d’aller manger à Vik au restaurant Sudur, ambiance et cadre au top. Nous avons aussi mangé au restaurant de l’hôtel Dyrholaey à 10 minutes de l’hôtel, un bon buffet, mais beaucoup de groupes touristiques. C’est un self check-in, il n’y a pas de personnel à l’accueil, ambiance très impersonnelle et froide. Même si propre et dans un beau paysage, nous sommes déçus par le style d’avantage « motel » qu’hôtel. Un peu cher pour la prestation.

• Betty (8/5): - My email confirmation provided information for just one room but we had reserved two. Multiple emails to the property prior to arrival to confirm we had two rooms went unanswered which was very unnerving because we were flying in from the US and going straight to the hotel without knowing if we had the rooms we needed. The self-serve check in was not secure. The property provides a piece of paper with your name on the outside and on the inside the folded paper is the room number and electronic door lock code. Because it is just a folded paper (not inside an envelope or taped/stapled closed) everyone has access to all of the door lock codes. I wonder if they even change the door lock codes between guests. The breakfast provided was well stocked and outstanding. The property is not close to town so the provided breakfast was very helpful to have.

• Juli (10/5): Lieblingsunterkunft auf Island Roadtrip - Meine Lieblingsunterkunft auf unserem Island Roadtrip! Sehr schöne saubere Zimmer mit tollem Bad, inkl großem Waschbecken und großer, richtiger Dusche (in Island keine Selbstverständlichkeit). Frühstück sehr gut und reichhaltig, inkl Pancakes :) Ca. 15 Minuten Fahrt von der kleinen Stadt Vik i Myrdal entfernt, mit dem Auto ist man außerdem sehr schnell bei Dyrholaey, wo man abends zahlreiche Papageientaucher sieht.
