Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): Top quality accommodation away from the hustle and bustle of cities and large towns. - Bessiestown Country Guesthouse was a comfortable retreat in the middle of our busy holiday. The owners and staff were warm and friendly and worked hard to make us feel at home. The facilities were excellent, there was generous car parking, the breakfast was sensational and we could not be happier with our stay. There was nothing that we were unhappy about. Top quality accommodation.
- EVA,PIK SHAN (10/5): Probably the best B&B in the surrounding area - The rooms were spacious and clean, and the towels were very fluffy. The host was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent! And the surrounding area is serene The water pressure for the shower was weak and the bed was too soft for my liking...
- Paul (10/5): Friendly place to stay - home from home - We stay here every year when we do Dirty Riever. Friendly, clean, warm - home from home
- Gavin (10/5): - Excellent - rooms were very clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and staff were really friendly. We were travelling with a toddler and the staff were extremely considerate of him (including upgrading us to a self-contained apartment with kitchen facilities, rather than the standard room we originally booked).
- Joseph (9/5): -
- Nigel (8/5): - Nice accommodation. Good breakfast. Reasonably priced.
- Joanna (9/5): - Fantastic venue, beautiful views. Wonderful friendly family. Amazing breakfast. Wonderfully clean and great facilities. Plenty of information about where to eat etc

- Yong (10/5): Highly recommended - We are a group of 12 staying here for one night in the lovely cottage.Maria family was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was unexpected yummy especially homemade Jam.Thank you so much offering to visit your brother farm but unfortunately raining and windy we cannot make it.Next visit I will definate stay here again. Nothing.
- Bolyki (5/5): Very overpriced compared to other hotels and certainly not 5 star - Clean. Tidy outside and easy to park. Not much more. We arrived after 8pm.
The room was not heated up, it was ice cold. It took 30 minutes and a extra heater.
The morning breakfast option was only between 830-900.
Wasn't impressed with the air fried breakfast either.
Later we found out, 5 star on a small house is not real 5 star. It is just rated by others 5 star. If I would rate it, this is 3 star.

- Margaret (10/5): - The breakfast was adequate for our needs. Our room was quite small but had everything we needed and even a fridge with fresh milk. All the fittings were of a high quality and appeared to be almost new. The location is somewhat off the beaten track but it was worth the detour from our route to find such a quiet and peaceful place.
- Andre (9/5): -
- sally (10/5): The perfect place to relax for a short stay. - I cannot fault our stay in any way. Everything is spotlessly clean and all you need had already been thought of and made easily available. The breakfast is freshly cooked and there is a variety for everyone. There is such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and nothing seems too much trouble. We have recommended to family and friends and we look forward to returning. Nothing.
- Sven (10/5): - Die Eigentümer waren sehr nett und man merkte, dass sie alles mit Herz leiten.
Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, gut und wird auf Bedarf gemacht.

- Paul (10/5): A true gem of a B&B, just perfect - A magnificent B&B. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, extremely well kept and stocked every day. Fresh milk is kept in a fridge in your room along with coffee and tea. The rooms have ensuite with a large bath/shower combo. There's a conservatory and lounge, both sizeable and extremely comfortable for use of the patrons. Plenty of parking available. It's family run on a steading set in a beautiful rural location. The family are all warm, welcoming people, a joy to meet and do all they can to make your stay a good one. This is a true gem of a place, I can't praise the facilities or folks enough! We'll be going back there as often as we can. Nothing. This place is just perfect.

Nice location Bedroom curtains weren't thick enough to keep out the early morning sun.
- Nawaf (10/5): A Perfect Family Getaway with Thoughtful Touches and Warm Hospitality - We stayed as a family with young adults and teens and had a wonderful experience. The property is beautiful, with spacious, clean rooms thoughtfully equipped with coffee and tea stations, biscuits, and even sewing kits. The bathrooms were fully set up and spotless, giving a true bed-and-breakfast feel.
The location is excellent — set in lovely scenery, just 15 minutes from Carlisle and under an hour from the Lake District. Mr. Jack, Mrs. Anna, Mrs. Margret and the team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious and customized to our dietary needs.
They even went the extra mile to arrange for us to cuddle a sheep — thank you, Christie and Anna, for making that special memory! Nothing

- Rachel (10/5): Beautiful views, welcoming, tasty breakfast and friendly staff! - We stayed here as we were attending a wedding at the Hidden Rover Barn so it was convenient to get there and no where near expensive! The room was spacious and had everything we needed. It was in excellent condition and exceptionally clean.
All staff were welcoming and the breakfast was tasty and excellent value for money.
