- Trinity (7/5): Good value, good location. You get what you pay for. - The capsule was small but not claustrophobic. You are getting what you pay for, but it is more than nice enough if you are just using the capsule to sleep and having busy days. Staff are friendly and helpful when you speak to them. There is a cafe which is nice. There's a microwave and fridge which is nice. The showers are clean and there are q-tips and mouthwash in the bathrooms which is nice. The front desk is not constantly staffed so when I had some slight issues with check in I had to wait for message response (which was fast). This is not a major issue if you are aware, but just watch for it. They clearly are struggling with flies in the lobby and cafe area which can be a little off putting. The shampoo is quite harsh so if you have sensitive skin, bring your own (this is nit picking though and you can't really expect fancy shampoo at a hostel!).
- Shen Christopher (8/5): - Beds were more comfortable than I expected, it passed the elbow test. It was just the right length for me (5'11") with a couple of inches extra. The memory foam pillow is slightly thin, I had to fold it in half to get the right height for my head, but was comfortable when adjusted. The displays on the capsule itself are mostly decorative. There are a few buttons for toggling lights, night lights, and fan. WiFi was great, very good cafe attached as well. Showers are all on the basement level. Bathrooms are decently sized. There are lockers in the room I stayed in. Some of the lockers do not work (are broken), and you are assigned a locker for your bed. I had to use another locker that belonged to another bed (but was vacant). The Goki app used to get in and out was difficult to set up at the beginning (thankfully I did this ahead of time and got in touch with customer service), there needs be a set of clear directions on how to initialize your check in with the Goki app.

- Caroline (1/5): plastic capsules bed damaged, stinky sheets, unreliable 24/24 checking in, internet not working - i didn't like nothing. I used to go to this hostel years before there were humans checking us in, it was ok and the price were matching the quality that was around 20$, but now i just see there were still the same plastic capsules bed that looks cool but most of them are damages with holes, broken plastic parts, some plastic wall of them beds even felt apart.. and the price is exorbitant for the terrible quality. Plus I was so exhausted from my days of travels that when I arrived there was no one to rely on for the " 24h/24h Self checking " their internet wasn t working , they demand us to download an app, with their internet no working how can we even download an app ? I had to got to a coffee near to get that app download then when i back.. i m not gonna write more about how difficult it was to get this done, for 1h30 min .. no one was helping, the lady at the coffee shop didn t know how to help and others clients were having the same trouble. fortunately a client who was leaving helped me , he even had to share his own wifi to their tablets and he also had difficulties to get it done . I am very disapointed . also the beds sheets were stinky of like sweat of others clients maybe.. i back because it was a good hostel years ago, but this is very unreliable. i didn't like nothing. - Alice (8/5): Lovely, peaceful stay and made lots of great memories. - I had a really lovely time staying here. Really peaceful with a nice cafe, clean and comfy beds, and fab location in a really good area (lots of restaurants and bars etc. nearby plus great public transport links). Would really recommend staying here for solo travellers. My only slightly negative comment would be that there were several issues with the main door and dorm doors (codes changing, check-in app not working etc.) which was a bit confusing, and made it hard to get in and out of the building sometimes. And sometimes when asking staff for help with this we got a little bit of an impatient response like we weren’t paying attention to the changing codes (which we weren’t informed would change on arrival). I think the automated check in system makes it all a bit confusing - most issues would be avoided with in-person check in maybe? Most interactions were lovely, however. Would definitely stay here again.

But pack a power bank - Helpful staff, excellent accommodations, cheap place to stay for a night for a single person that just needs a place to sleep & doesn't quite need the facilities of an entire hotel room. Never feared for my belongings, plenty if lock up space, & other users respectful of others & their property. Also, surprising quiet at night, however occasionally startled by people hitting wall of capsule/kicking wall in their sleep - but i also was a culprit of doing that so I really can't complain as I was part of the problem (lol). Biggest and only complaint is that my capsule (37) only had 1 working USB charger, there were 2, but one was broken and the other was an EXTREMELY slow charger. While I was able to get my some of my devices plugged in at other locations (powers trips within the room but not in individual capsule), I never was able to get a full charge completed d/t not wanting to leave my devices plugged in out if sight/away from me while I slept. PACK A POWER BANK, as charging devices is slightly sketchy (especially if you have more than a phone - i.e. I had a phone, smart watch, iPad & DSLR camera batteries to charge). I used my powerbank to charge all devices and then attempted to recharge my powerbank overnight, but due to the charger being so slow in the actual capsule, never got powerbank recharged past 30% - even though it was plugged in all night [11p to 8a])

- Alex (6/5): Better investment in the hostel is needed. This staff is obviously restricted in its abilities to fix and subsequently m - The beds and pillows are comfortable. The shower area is clean. They’ve made technology forward design choices: keyless lockers and doors. Sleeping cubes with built-in tech. The problem is, none of it is maintained properly. Keyless lockers are left to drain their batteries, leaving guests without access to their items. None of the chargers in my sleep cube worked. The door to the sleep cube is a low-quality draw down blind. My cube had a chunk of plastic missing from it. The washer in the basement leaks water in use. Showers are not cleaned on a staggered schedule. I asked a staff member when it would be available and he could only say “I don’t know man”. It’s very troubling to be left wondering when you can continue your day. Poor client service from that staff member.

Trader Joe's à deux pas pour faire quelques courses. Espaces communs agréables pour manger. Douche au sous sol, pas très adéquate en hiver et présence de fuites d'eau au sol sur le chemin. Pas grand chose pour poser ses affaires.

The outlets in the room were not working, especially the ones by the bed. Also the cleaners threw out my souvenirs because they were in a paper bag and they do not look in (I recovered them from the trash with an employee the next day).

- Siedow (10/5): Overal, I encourage anybody who needs a cheap, reliable place to stay when in DC. - This hostel was perfect for the solo traveler. It's location was fantastic for the night life offered by DC. I also enjoyed that it was well located for public transportation and getting to and from the national monument. A HUGE show out to Caroline who assisted me with various problems with my stay. She was willing and able to help with every concern. She was absolutely a sweetheart. Thanks Caroline!! Not much to say here: maybe the locks had some repetitive issue. those seemed to have mostly been human error on my part.

- Alberto (9/5): Overall, I had a good stay and I think it was worth the money. - The rooms were clean and well organized, with capsule beds that gave you privacy. There was air conditioning and lockers as well. The staff was very welcoming and kind, and they were available to help during their shifts through the Goki app. The bar area was spacious, with plenty of tables and sofas where you could relax and meet different people. The location was excellent, very close to the metro station, and the area was calm. One thing I didn’t like very much was the bathrooms. There was only one bathroom per floor for 40 people or more. During the night, this was not really a problem because there was no waiting, but in the morning you might have to wait a little. Another inconvenience was the breakfast. It was included in my booking, but you could only have one coffee and one pastry, nothing else. I found this a bit strange because in other hostels in Europe, when breakfast is included, there is usually much more choice, such as juice, fruit, toast, coffee, and pastries.

The stay was okay but not very comfortable. The room felt a bit crowded and the noise level made it hard to relax. Some facilities could be improved.

- Janet (7/5): - Clean and great location. It is misleading there are staff desk hours. If you need help from a human you need to use a lot of hoops and apps first. Be prepared for many codes, many apps, and the ensuing delays awaiting review, submission, response. The lockers can only be used with a pin but not the one for the doors.

- Asantewaa (6/5): Very convenient to public transportation, i.e., buses and subway . . . located at 13th and U Sts NW - I brought cereal and fruit, canned tuna and bread, peanut butter to eat for breakfast and lunch; I only went out to eat once at a restaurant and then friends took me out to eat. The restroom on the third floor that had a toilet and sink, the sink ran water at normal speed and then a very slow drip after a few minutes. Very annoying, I reported this to staff, but as I was leaving on Mon. March 2, the problem still existed.

- Fiorelli (5/5): Okay for the night - The pods are really comfortable and cozy! It feels like a private room. Also the day I arrived they gave away free pizza (which they do every Wednesday) which was really comforting since I passed a rough day. The Staff is amazing and always give a good vibe. Unfortunately outside of the pod the room was disgustingly. I was sleeping in a mixed dorm as a woman and I found dirty underwear, used tissues and trash everywhere on the ground. People (men) were walking around naked which made me really uncomfortable, also they left the door open everytime the left. The lockers are super super small and didn’t fit my bagback so I was sleeping with all my valuable items since the roommates where not really trustworthy enough to just leave my stuff on the floor. Beware there’s only one toilet for the whole floor!

- Alexis (10/5): Excelente, lo volvería a repetir. - Me encantó la ubicación y la privacidad en el sentido de que absolutamente todo se puede hacer de forma independiente (Check in, generación de código para las puertas, etc.), se sentía como estar en casa al no necesitar prácticamente la asistencia del personal. El baño del segundo piso tenía inconvenientes y me hubiese gustado que las duchas tengan jabones líquidos de mejor calidad y con aroma más agradable.

- Marianne (9/5): Exceptional value for money, friendly staff, great café! - The location was great. The cafe was a nice refuge - & reasonably priced, especially if a guest. Hot showers are hit or miss - but otherwise really nice showers. Clean towels always available. Overall exceptional value for money & having one’s own pod was a bonus for privacy. Inconsistent with hot water.

They need to make their policy around pets clearer though. Rather than a pet fee, as in the property description, I actually needed to rent an entire double room. The price was still affordable. But it would have saved some time with messaging if that had just been an option in the booking process.

- Salomé (6/5): - Very good location in the city center: everything is nearby, bars, fast food, supermarkets, etc. It’s really convenient to go out or find something to eat at any time. It was also a great experience to sleep in capsules. It’s really original, very stylish and rather comfortable. It changes classic hotels and makes the stay even more pleasant. In addition, there are many gadgets several towels available, toothbrush, mouthwash, cotton buds... The place is also quiet, which allows you to rest well despite the central location. LThe hygiene of the establishment is really unacceptable. Arriving in the room, the carpet was dirty and the steps to access the beds were also very dirty, while it is a place where you normally go up without shoes. The sink was literally filled with hair and dirt. It was so dirty that we didn’t even want to use it. The toilet was in a catastrophic state: traces of urine, excrement and an absolutely unbearable smell. The most shocking thing is that we arrived on Saturday morning and, when we left on Sunday, everything was in exactly the same state. This clearly shows that no cleaning was done during the day. Another very unpleasant point: to access the showers, you have to go down to the basement, which was absolutely not specified. The basement is in a very dilapidated state with large puddles on the ground. The showers and sinks in this space were cleaner, but having to go down to a basement in this state to wash remains a very bad experience.

You cannot lower 30-40% from regular hotel rooms and give a mediocre experience. I would not trade by hotel rooms next time. Did not have any feel like a hotel. The price was high for that standard of stay compared to what we have to give up.
