Left my favourite jacket there and the staff have gone out their way to post it back to me which I greatly appreciate Nothing to report, being cheeky would’ve loved a mini fridge in the room :)

• Joshua (9/5): Great value hotel with friendly staff - Really great hotel. Close to the town centre. Plenty of free parking available. Rooms were clean, beds comfy and showers worked well. Staff were friendly. I made use of spa and it was modern. I had two meals there which were both good. Fpund ot be really good value for money and i would stay there again. If im being picky i would say the carpets upstairs need a refresh and i would say it would be nice for more choice on the menu but thats being picky.

Leisure facilities didn’t open early enough on the Sunday morning (advised didn’t open until 9am), so were unable to use them before our busy schedule which was very disappointing.

• georgiamU921TA (2/5): Wouldn’t bother wasting your money. - On arrival we were really impressed with our room, which helped us overlook the unpleasant smell on the second floor coming from the lift area — unfortunately it reminded us of an unkempt care home. We had booked breakfast, but sadly it was very disappointing. The food was cold, the beans were dried out, and the scrambled eggs were rubbery. My daughter was still hungry afterwards and ended up taking a couple of yogurts with us. The most frustrating part of the stay was discovering that my 16-year-old daughter was not allowed to use the swimming pool unless accompanied by an adult. I found this policy quite unreasonable and it put a dampener on what was meant to be a birthday trip. I did ask about a refund for the breakfast due to the poor quality, but the staff did not seem very willing to help. In the end, I decided not to push the issue further as I didn’t want to ruin the rest of my daughter’s birthday by getting upset. Overall, the room itself was lovely, but the breakfast, smell in communal areas, and pool policy let the experience down.

The bathroom was very small with nowhere to store wash bags etc.- a small shelf above the sink would have been useful. No where to hang coats- again a small hook on the door would have been useful.

• Irma (1/5): Very disapointed, avoid room 27 - The hotel is in a great location with a nice reception, restaurant and bar area Once arrived we have been greeted nicely by the hotel location, really nice receptionist and when we have entered to our "Superior Queen Room" we have been hit by utter disappointment, the room nr. 27 was very uncomfortable very little space, then when we saw the addition super small room with a single bed that didn't have any windows that led to the bathroom (also very small), it had a high sealing with the window at the top but without any access to open it for the fresh air. Our another and probably biggest concern was that this room should of never been considered for the guest especially family with a child and not to be titled "Superior Queen Room" because of the main room with only 1 window facing into another building wall and some sort of shed, that looked like someone’s bathroom (attaching photos) as in the nighttime we clearly heard someone throwing up next to us. Plus as the weekend was very warm we have struggled to breathe while in the room. My husband was sleeping in a single bed no-air at all room and had a race competition next morning, he really struggled to sleep and his heart-rate was really high, same for me and our 10 year daughter we struggled to sleep as we had to have a fan on due to lack of air and it was very noisy. This room was nothing like on the photos on booking.com or their website, plus it didn’t have coffee machine as per description. The very first evening after our check-in we have addressed these concerns and asked if we could be placed into alternative room, we have been told nothing they could offer as hotel was fully booked, also we haven’t been offered anything to ease our stay, no free breakfast was offered etc. We have filed an official complaint with booking.com as no-one should be experiencing the above when coming for a special 2 night stay.

The evening meal wasn't nice at all, nobody came over and asked how the food was or asked if we wanted any more drinks. When we tried to go to sleep, our room backed onto another part of the hotel, which had lights on all night that shone through our curtains, and we didn't sleep well at all. We are due to stay again in August, and I'm undecided whether to book elsewhere.

My room was above the kitchen I think and it was hot even though I turned the heat in the room down and opened the window. Of course having the window open during the night meant I could hear a generator. Also wasn’t keen on the bar doing last orders before 11pm when we didnt get back from the match until 10.30.

We had just completed a 7 hour drive that should have taken 3 hours and there was no acknowledgement. We were given 1 room access card and another was in the room providing the heating which didn’t access the door. When I came down to check with the same female receptionist she was rude saying ‘well it’s not supposed to do the door’. Just not necessary. So initial impressions not great.

• Samuel (10/5): Good location, friendly and helpful staff, really good hot shower and bed was comfy. - Breakfast was a good selection, warm and neatly presented.
• Alexander (8/5): Comfortable enough stay, away from the city's noise. - It's located at a really nice and quiet location outside of the centre. The room was clean, and comfortable for the most part. Staff was friendly, and the place was easy to navigate. The shower has no detachable shower head so it's not comfortable at all. The headboard was directly in front of the light switches causing all lights to come on the middle of the night as I was turning in bed. The sound proofing wasn't great, you could clearly hear conversations and the floor was overly creaky. A lot of the value is in the spa access which I had no use for.
• Wayne (9/5): Excellent place to stay if you drive and playing poker - I Stay here if I’m Visiting DtD Free parking, lovely lounge/bar area, and gym (I didn’t use it) so a nice place to chill if your waiting for a tournament to start. friendly staff and very good value for money depending on what days Minor cosmetic issues in bathroom, some mould on silicone and small rust patch on radiator not a big deal but again, it just doesn’t fit with the rest of the place and such an easy fix
