• Kaoru (10/5): 食事、お風呂全て満点💯 - 食事が素晴らしかった。 勿論お風呂(温泉)もとても良かった。 良くなかったわけではないのですが 部屋が殺風景だった(シンプルと言えば言えますが…)絵(写真、書)の一つでも掛けてあったらと。しかし外の景色の素晴らしさを感じてもらう為に敢えてシンプルにしたのかな。
• Fage (10/5): Un séjour inoubliable. - Le lieu est tout simplement magique, une vraie parenthèse de calme et de détente au cœur de la nature. L’hôtel est d’une propreté irréprochable, le personnel très à l’écoute et aux petits soins. Nous avons pris une chambre avec bain privé et vue sur la rivière, c’était vraiment le point fort de notre séjour. Il y a un chemin pour se promener le long des gorges de Shogawa ce que je recommande vivement car le paysage est charmant. Si vous ne souhaitez pas manger au restaurant de l’hôtel, il y a quelques petits restaurants à quelques minutes à pied qui sont aussi très bien. Bon à savoir : l’hôtel est un peu excentré de la ville de Tonami. Il y a une petite gare de laquelle vous pouvez prendre un taxi pour vous y rendre, le trajet dure environ 15min. La grosse gare la plus proche est celle de Shin-Takaoka où le Shinkasen passe, qui est à environ 30min de l’hôtel. L’hôtel propose une navette gratuite pour s’y rendre le matin (11h en général) mais il faut bien penser à la réserver à l’avance.

• Floriane (7/5): Parfait pour se reposer - - Le personnel est vraiment adorable et aux petits soins, ils ne parlent que très peu anglais mais avec les applications de traduction, on s’en sort bien! - la chambre que nous avons eu , est spacieuse, lumineuse et très propre - les bains publics sont très beaux et propres - le dîner du soir est vraiment délicieux ! - très agréable le café/the tout le long de la journée - l’établissement est « loin » de la gare et de bcp de centre d’intérêts, alors si vous n’avez pas de voiture, c’est un peu compliqué.

• Hunt (10/5): If ‘apricity’ were a hotel. - Superbly clean, traditional theme, quiet and truly relaxing. The outdoor hot spring was the best part as no-one else was in there and it was snowing. Great room, will look to upgrade next time as we now know we will be staying again. No complaints. Zero.

• anis. (4/5): Grosse déception et grosse incompréhension - Le bain chaud Absence totale de traduction même réduite en anglais au restaurant,dans la chambre, au bar , au self service, à la boutique. Au petit déjeuner,il y avait des œufs pochés et des œufs frais .J’ai demandé des œufs au plat, sinon durs. Réponse : non, on ne peut avoir ni les uns ni les autres.J’ai demandé de parler à un responsable,on m’a dit qu’il était absent. J’étais obligé alors d’expliquer au portier …! le problème. Juste après, une responsable est bien venue, mais pour encaisser le dîner, sans toutefois répondre à ma question sur le refus d’œufs durs. Pour un hôtel de qualité, beau mais également cher, cette non qualité de service et cette non considération des clients est étonnante

• Laureen (10/5): Three glorious days in Shogawa including a trip to shirakawa-go, views, birds, rest! - We are not Japanese and this place is the real deal. The learning curve was a little high at first but much of the Info is in english. We loved the two big beds, We loved the hot pools, we loved walking along the river for hours and looking at the view. There was a shuttle to take back to the shinkansen in the morning. I would come again and stay longer. I loved that the room has a big closet and a hall separating the bath from the room. We were too chicken to try the fancy restaurant. We walked up the hill and had curry I'm embarrassed to say. Next time I'll bring my son in law and let him inspire me to be the foodie that he is.

• Daniela (9/5): Good place to relax after busy days. - Amazing onsen with very nice outdoor area, very friendly staff, very good dinner-only recommanded if you like raw fish (reservation in advance required), nice view (montain side), large and very quit room. Beautiful interior design. We really liked the fact that the entire hotel is covered with tatami and that shoes are not worn. The return journey to the trainstation by shuttle bus went smoothly. Typical Japanese breakfast: We liked According to the website, it is very easy to reach by public transport. The bus journey from the nearest train station toke us almost an hour, and taxis were only available after a long wait. More detailed information about when the hotel shuttle buses are available would be helpful here. For breakfast and in between meals, I would expect a selection of high-quality green teas and not just houjicha in a four-star hotel in Japan. Just a note for vegetarians: less suitable, as almost all dishes contain fish or meat.

• Heather (9/5): Lovely, peaceful stay near the river. - Beautiful space with comfortable, well appointed rooms and lovely onsen. Its placement next to a dam and river made for some lovely walks around eh neighborhood. Some strange rules like no coffee in the breakfast room only in the outer lounge.

• Sze (10/5): Tranquil getaway with impeccable service - Exceptional service from the minute our car arrived at the hotel entrance. The level of service here sets a new benchmark for our future Japanese stay (which has always been highly positive). Tranquil ambiance, impeccable cleanliness, Japanese garden, indoor and outdoor onsen, tatami flooring throughout, spacious room with beautiful view of Shogawa, free flow of coffee and drinks and a shop selling local arisanal products at reasonable prices . We tried a few local products and were blown away. Especially love the chocolate from Patisserie Vert and the folded mugwort mochi with red bean paste filling. The staff recommended 2 restaurants , 5 minutes walk away for highly rated local Ayu fish meals. Lots of blooming June flowers everywhere. Perfect location. Only 15 mins drive to see the beautiful Shogawa Gorge and around 15 mins to Tonami City for shopping. This is a personal preference. The quality of the onsen water here is very different than our preferred Nozawaonsen experience. Don't have info on the mineral context here. It is clear water with very slight sulphur smell. Temperature is probably around low 30s C. The onsen itself is clean with a few pools. They switch male and female sections daily so that we could experience both sections. Both are beautiful designed.

• Renju (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed here in April during our travel through Japan. Wonderful place, staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Food is excellent. There are also very good restaurants nearby. Location is stunning. And, of course we enjoyed the onsen.
