Guest Reviews
- Alfredo (10/5): -
- Fiona (9/5): Well located, lovely place to stay in Myvtan - Great location, good range of kitchen facilities, lovely hot, powerful showers. Lovely & cosy even when -14C outside.
- Einar (1/5): -
- Pascal (8/5): good for a one nights stay en-route - a bit dated but functional and clean, well equipped

- Lisa (6/5): Pleasant - Good location, kitchen, and good value. There was a pervasive throughout the unit, and the unit is very dated.
- Boryana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luqiang (3/5): Poor - There is a weird smell.
- Leonardo (8/5): - Nice, big apartment with all forniture
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice stay of 1 night - Quite central for Lake Mývatn with petrol pump supermarket at walking distance. Quite a spacious apartment with 2 separate bedrooms and a living area and a good kitchen. Early check in offered for no additional cost.
- Filippo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (10/5): - Excelent location and good space.
- Cippà (10/5): Everything was perfect - The apartment was big, the staff did the laundry for us.
- Juan Luis (10/5): - Un lugar tranquilo y placentero, lo recomiendo ampliamente.
Alles da, was man braucht und hilfreiches Personal.
- Han (8/5): Very good -
- Kasun (6/5): - Good:
- Clean and all amenities were there
- Good communication and made arrangements for a late check in
- Close to shops
Bad:
- The property is dated and sort of a damp smell was there
- Front door lock didn't work it can't be locked
- Living area window doesn't have blinds or curtains and open to a road. Less privacy.
- Cynthia (9/5): Superb -
- Aliaksandra (10/5): Exceptional - It was a last minute booking, but I was lucky to find this place. The whole big apartment for myself for very reasonable money. I enjoyed the kitchenette a lot, it was my first stay when I could heat up my food. Great apartment!
- Michaela (8/5): Very good - The accommodation was very spacious, with large windows and a fully equipped kitchen, including an oven (we appreciated the option to bake meat). The furnishings are simple but fully sufficient. The parking lot is a few steps from the entrance to the accommodation.
- Theodorou (8/5): Very good - It was very clean, spacious and our check in procedure was very helpful considering our delay.
Kitchen well equipped and super market in walking distance. The beds could be more comfortable.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandre (10/5): Stay with friends - All Really nothing to complain
- Nathalie (7/5): Stuck in a smowstorm, but it made a great adventure nonetheless - Big appartments, nice beds, nice breskfast Some things like the bathroom were old and could be renovated
- Doreen (6/5): Pleasant - The bed linen was very clean and fresh and the bed was comfortable. The shower room uses shower curtains so water can splash out of bathing area.
- Anonymous (6/5): Enjoyed visiting this beautiful and remote part of Iceland. - The location was great - close to Diamond Circle and Nature Baths. it was a little run down and there was no comfortable spot - like a living room with a couch- to unwind at the end of the day.
- Roger (10/5): Exceptional - Great breakfast. Lava bread was different. The host was really accommodating and so kind. They made me an early breakfast package due to my early departure. There's a grocery store, gas station, and fish n chips place nearby.
- Lee (8/5): Value for money - It is located very near the Myvatn Tourist Spots (Myvatn Bath, Hverir, etc..) Check in was fuss free. Do take note that the hot water is from the local geothermal springs.
- Maria (9/5): Nice flat to spend the weekend in the capital. close to the city centre. with everything you need - the flat has everything needed the codes given to open the doors did not work. the person we contacted to sort it out could have been more friendly. no number of the apartments on the doors, so hard to know which one we rented. we rented the flat for 3 people, the sofa bed could have been ready and was not.
- SONJA (8/5): - The location was perfect, nice rooms and kitchen. The only thing that was a small issue was a few dishes were dirty.
- Joy (9/5): Great place to stay when exploring the Myrvatn area. - comfortable, nice size and great facilities. We didn’t use the breakfast available as we left early due to an impending orange alert in the area.
- Jakub (9/5): Superb -
- Buby (10/5): - Great communication, easy check in and out, cleanand specious property and quite cheap for the area
- Jroz (9/5): Superb -
- James (10/5): - Nice property, got there in the middle of a blizzard and they hurried my room up and let me check in 5 hours early, great friendly service!
- Ana (7/5): Good - Kitchen had a lot of room and was very well equipped Bathroom was a bit old and the bath was stinky (sulfur) as the water in the region is rich in this mineral. The apartment was a bit "cold" in the beginning of the night.
- Nina (6/5): Smelly stay 🥴 - The apartment offers a lot of space, the kitchen is well equiped. After a rainy, cold and muddy hiking day you can easily dry your clothes and leave dirty shoes at the front door. The beds are comfortable and you have a sink in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom (one shower and one by the toilet). It was such a stinky stay... And no, we don't mean (just) the usual experience of having smelly tap water that obviously comes straight from the source 😉. Apparently, the guests before us had fish for dinner in the apartment. And no one tried to get rid of this pungent smell. To be fair, it's not the host's fault what strong smelling food the previous guests prepared in the kitchen. But it is their decision to offer it like that to the next guests without even mentioning it. And even after we opened all the windows and doors to get rid of the smell, it was there all night in the whole apartement, extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable to sleep with....
Also, the bedrooms smelled like an old farmhouse - and not fresh hay, but old and worn like a barn. Maybe that was also due to the previous guests who left other smells ;). But unfortunately, the smell matched the generally very outdated look and feel of the apartment.
As a result, we unfortunately did not feel very comfortable. We were glad that we were only here for one night.
Also, you should plan your trip well as the check-in time frame is from 5pm - 8pm. We had to change our plan a bit due to the ever changing weather conditions, came an hour early and had to wait because even if you ring the bell, no one comes. Our feedback to the hosts: look around at other accommodations in Iceland that make check-in absolutely straightforward, for example in terms of self-check-in options or larger check-in time slots.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Philippe (10/5): Very good address ! - Big apartment, fully equipped.
Breakfast was very complete.
And Elda was very nice and helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Is The heater broken or not? The room was like 30C during the day and night.
- CHAU KWAN (8/5):
- PIER-PHILIPPE (6/5): You won’t get cold feet (like, literally) - Myvatn : a fantastic northern Iceland destination just a few kilometers south if the arctic circle. Tonight though, it felt more like Death Valley with no AC. We never figured out how to turn off that damn heater. The wind was blowing sideways to the building, but we still liked to pretend opening the windows helped cooling down the place.
We thought about cooking eggs (preferably rotten) on our mattress, like they do on the asphalt of Highway 66. Anyway, the water here affected our digestion so, even though we couldn’t see the eggs, we sure as hell could smell them. That never fails to liven up a dull evening.
When we figured out that the thermostat was in the hallway outside the room, I just couldn’t sleep anymore so I wrote this. Can’t wait to be back.
Edit 30 mins later : Nevermind, that thermostat doesn’t do a thing.
