Guest Reviews
- Susan (8/5): - No restaurant there
- Kimberly (8/5): Great value for your money! - Clean, quiet and a great value! Good location right on the main drag. But very quiet. It was a little dated, but that was no problem due to the good value!
- Dana (10/5): - The staff was excellent, housekeeping was extremely helpful when I had an issue with the TV remote. Room was nice and clean, bed was super comfortable, slept well. I was hoping for a pool, but the location downtown would of made it impossible. To bad the restaurant next door didn't open until 11am, I had to go to the local drive up for breakfast. Restaurant was closed until checkout time.
- Virgil (10/5): - Didnt have enough outlet for phone chargers
- Jeffrey (4/5): - Beds were comfortable Room was dirty. Seems like it wasn't vacuumed thoroughly. Stains. Barely any hot water, or at least the valve was not working well enough to have a lot of hot water come out. That was very frustrating. Tried to run a bath and it took 45 minutes or more to fill the bathtub with warm water. Not located in a great neighborhood. Dogs barked all night long.
- Ericka (8/5): Comfortable, clean, quiet, and a great price. - Clean Old
- Janet (10/5): Pleasirable stay - Quiet and easy to get to. Stayed 3 nights. Older hotel so bathrooms are small but well maintained. Of course, smokin was allowed years ago but an odor still remains. It is to be expected. Minimum outlets so bring multi- outlet plug.
- Bill (4/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Good location and overall comfortable - Easy access to room from parking lot. Bed and furniture were fairly comfortable. Refrigerator had a real freezer section. The room was clean. Had an outside room, couldn't keep outside door open due to traffic noise a few feet away. The room was clean, but the odor from the cleaning products was strong, was able to air it out with a fan.
- J. Wren (7/5): -
- Renee (10/5): - It was in the middle of town and close to everything
- Roger (8/5): Comfortable and great value - Not fancy, but clean and comfortable and a great value. Front desk receptionist was very friendly. I wish there was a better restaurant attached to the motel.
- Georgina (4/5): Did not get what we paid for - I paid for the king suite was supposed to have a king bed a couch pull out bed. Did not have a couch pull out bed. Only reason I booked and paid extra for the suite. Also the extra room just looked like they used it as a store room. And folding tables and chairs stacked in there.
- Ralph (7/5): Good - Price No breakfast
- Lauren (8/5): -
- Edward (8/5): - This motel is always accommodating. We usually stay there when we go to Riverton.
- kevin (8/5): -
- Clifford (8/5): Very good. Will stay again. - It was close to our place of interest and easy to find. Did not have time for breakfast and very little noise. Bed was very comfy. Little ants in bathroom at night time but not a terrible amount of them.
- Rachelle (10/5): Very accommodating -
- Amy (7/5): It was easy to get to and the room was clean. Staff was helpful. - Price was right The location was slightly sketchy
- Rob (1/5): Horrible Experience Stay Away From Sundowner!! - Nothing The white male with glasses at front desk was a total dishonest sleazeball! I charged my card for a $150 per deposit and a $100 room deposit without informing us at check in. We then decided not to stay there and he charged us a $40 cancelation fee without telling us, and we had just reserved the room for less the 20 minutes prior! DON'T STAY HERE ..YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!! THIS PLACE RIPS OFF TRAVELERS!!!
- Richard (3/5): Should not be advertising as a pet friendly hotel. - They advertise being pet friendly, but they won't let pets stay in the room unattended. You are required to pay $50 to any other guest that complains about your pet being too loud if you decide to leave them alone. The hotel does not have a place for the pets to go to the bathroom. Instead, you are required to take them to the edge of the parking lot, where there is no grass. If you register online and after reading the pet policy decide to cancel, you will be required to pay for the first night's stay anyway.
- David (7/5): -
- John R (4/5): Hopeful beginning, disappointing stay. - Check-in was quick and pleasant. The room looked clean when I first looked around. There really isn't much more I can say about what I liked. Near everything you might need during you stay. That's it. The room looked clean when I first looked around. The overwhelming scent/strong smell of air freshener should have been a clue. Thankfully setting the AC to 65 kept the unit running and that helped clear the smell from the room but it permeated the hallways the entire time. What was most disappointing what the fact that I was there for 4 nights. In that time, housekeeping never visited the room and I had to call the front desk to get clean towels. When they were dropped off the man asked if he could take the used towels then stood there like he was expecting me to pick them up and hand them to him. By the time I checked out, the trash cans were filled and I had to use bags from Walmart to hold the things I wasn't taking home with me so they weren't all over the floor. At check-out, I felt like I was a bad person for interrupting the clerk's smoke break. I wanted to support a local motel/hotel during my stay and bypassed the chain hotels. That was a mistake I will not make on future visits to Riverton. The location was good.
- Keshia (5/5): -
- Sergio (10/5): Surprisingly good! - Excellent, completely exceeded our expectations!
- Gracie (9/5): -
- James (10/5): We always stay here when in Riverton. It’s a good place to stay for the money - Great location
- Nathan (9/5): Will likely stay here again. - Good location, good value.
- Susan (6/5): Would probably pay extra to stay somewhere else - There was no breakfast. Coffee in your room but they are all the same. Not great. Room was comfortable but didn’t like the sliding glass door in our room right next to the parking lot. For the price it was fine Better coffee
- Amy (8/5): Would stay again! - Staff is friendly and accommodating, room was very clean. Bathroom/sink area was a bit cramped, but it was clean so I’m not complaining.
- Tiffany (5/5): I would not stay here again due to the encounter with the staff. - The beds were comfortable. The person who checked me in was rude. I understand we arrived late at 11 pm due to traffic and road construction but I did not expect him to walk out of the office barefoot and acting like I woke him up. I was also charged a pet fee for a service dog which was a shock.
- Marisa E (7/5): Price for what we paid was higher than quality of the room. - Easy to find. Staff was friendly and the room was big. Dirty sheets, had a cigarette stain/burn. Paid extra fir a suite. All that was different was a big room, little tv, recliner, microwave/fridge. Small dresser. No doors on the closet.
- Dasher (7/5): -
- BRYCE (10/5): -
- M Jr (4/5): - The staff was very friendly and quick. The fact that I found buggy casings in the sheets. The patio door was left unlocked , and there were ants in the bathroom.
- Carter (9/5): - All around a good experience It's a little older and now amenities
- Dana (1/5): Bring own cleaner in case maids are not around to borrow theirs! - Good location Tub was black and had hairs in it and I asked maids for cleaner to clean my own room again! Sanitized the whole room
With gloves, cleaner, and had to get new sheets for one of the beds. Disappointed and grossed out
- Dana (5/5): -
- Darrel (6/5): - Location A bit dated
- Mark (7/5): - Price. Somewhat run down.
- Mark (8/5): Great experience, friendly staff. - Clean, close, convenient Nothing
- Karen (8/5): -
- Barbara (7/5): ok room for the price great green space with picnic tables if you had a young family - Decent price to share with my aunt as we mostly slept and got ready for the day, hate paying a bunch of money
for just sleeping and getting ready for the day the tight space of the room with the shower/tub and toilet
Didn't offer a breakfast, but we found a great place downtown, Brown Sugar!!!
- Livia (8/5): - Did not have breakfast Did not have breakfast
- Tater (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Matthew (7/5): Stay here again as needed - Great location, super exercise room and sauna, clean and comfortable room Little outdated
- Douglas (8/5): - Room was clean and comfortable, but nothing exceptional. Attached restaurant (Nepalese/Indian) was good. Person at check-in (and checkout) was very friendly and helpful.
- Michael (8/5): - The room was comfortable. While the bed was ok, it is hard to rate as no two beds are ever the same. The temperature was easy to control. We got a courtyard room as requested, so noise was not a problem. The location was perfect for our activities. A bit of a walk to get ice.
- Lil Timmy (8/5): - Comfortable, clean room and facility. No dislikes.
- Claudeen (10/5): - Very nice check in attendent
Helpful house cleaning staff
Clean room
- Deborah (8/5): Good except for no dog area - Location. Ground floor room has a sliding door to outside Claimed to be pet friendly but no grassy area for dogs to explore or use for potty. Courtyard off limits due to poor pet parents not cleaning up after their dogs.
- David (6/5): This was an economical stop on our way through Wyoming - Location didn’t take us out of the way No elevator
- Melody (8/5): - Nice older hotel, very clean and bed was comfortable.
- Lauri (7/5): -
- Scott (3/5): Did not have a good experience. The room wasn't clean. - Just ok. The room smelled bad, and the toilet had diarrhea splatter all around the bowl. The sliding glass door didn't seal very good, and the screen door was torn.
- gary (4/5): - For the price I didn’t expect much and I wasn’t disappointed. But really, small pillows instead of regular size?!
- Lisa (8/5): - Excellent value. Clean.
- Kaitlyn (10/5): - Damn near everything The heater smelled a little bit didn’t affect us cause the weather was fine
- Isaac (6/5): - Ac did not keep room cool
- coby (8/5): - Since it wasn't a remote city in WY it was a little outdated and could use a fix up but it was perfect for a overnight stay
- Janet (10/5): - Loved the balcony. Hotel built in the 80s but well kept up. Clean. A bit old fashioned but I will stay there again. Being clean is more important to me than modern updates. Great shower pressure!
- Linda (10/5): - Clean room, friendly helpful check in lady.
- Christine (10/5): - The parking was convenient and the room lead to a nice courtyard.
- John (10/5): - Clean room, polite and helpful staff, the courtyard was a nice unexpected addition.
Overall a very pleasant and cost effective experience. Will be back.
- Tadd (4/5): - Avoid this place.
- Proell (8/5): -
- Mandy (10/5): - We arrived late in the evening, tired from a very long drive, so it was refreshing to be greeted by such a friendly and thoughtful human. She was genuine and for some reason that made me feel instantly better. Having already stayed in different hotels for the past four nights, it was nice to have a conversation with a receptionist versus getting my room key tossed to me while the receptionist scrolled through Instagram on their phone. The room was very nice and very clean. There was a super comfortable chair in the room that I literally could have fallen asleep in but wouldn't need to because the bed was also comfortable. There were even premium cable channels like HBO (ahhh no commercials) 😃 Overall great place to stay and will stay again if ever in the area.
- Theresa (6/5): - This motel is older but in decent shape. The room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The amenities say pet friendly although not as friendly as other places I’ve stayed. There was a large pet deposit and policy with several items to agree to. One item was keeping dog quiet, or a fine would be charged and given to the person inconvenienced. Not easy to avoid when people are hanging out, talking and laughing loudly in the hallway in the middle of the night. This is one motel where I did not feel very safe as a single woman traveling. Needless to say, I will make different choice if I have to stay in the area again.
- JP (8/5): Reasonable price and convenient location. - Staff was friendly. Good Indian restaurant attached next door. Didn’t watch it but tv seemed small.
- Kathy (10/5): Overall it was a nice place. It was close to restaurants and stores. - It was very clean. The balcony was nice looking into the courtyard. The staff were very nice. The beds were a little small, they are doubles.
- mark (9/5): - Very clean. Front desk lady was very sweet Nothing. We were very satisfied
- Matt (10/5): - Solid hotel, a little dated but price is good.
- Mark (8/5): - Parking was easy.
- Janet (6/5): - The toilet is too low and no grab bars. Also no water pressure for showers. Had to use a cup to rinse shampoo and conditioner out. Room and beds were good
- Ginger (7/5): - The person at the front desk was kind and up front. The building itself was older but updated. It was clean and it was quiet. It wasn't in the best part of town but what they advertised was what they gave me. Location. Yet when I rent a motel room when I'm traveling I'm not renting it to walk around a park I'm usually running it to have a good night's sleep. And I got it.
- Renee (8/5): - Easy access to room. Smooth check in. Comfortable bed. Screen door to court yard in need of repair. An outlet in near clock radio did not work. Accommodations were adequate. Could use a cosmetic update.
- Tracy (4/5): - It was an ok motel and was generally happy with it when we first arrived.
- Nessan (3/5): Probably will not stay at this property again. - Being from Wyoming you have only a few choices when it comes to motels. The sundowner is a older. The room was dirty.
- Ricky (8/5): - Close to town
- Elaine (10/5): Very nice room the lady behind the counter was sweet! - Shower was amazing! My husband loved that there was a recliner in the room. Was nice to sit on the deck and enjoy the night! There were cigarettes left on the deck. They just need to clean the deck when they do the room.
- Anne (5/5): Adequate - The Indian restaurant was excellent and I would go back. We were on a ground floor and it was easy to load in our luggage. It was outdated.
- Wes (9/5): Very nice. -
- Sandra (7/5): -
- William (6/5): - Bathroom needs a remodel.
- Teresa (4/5): Housekeeping needs to be trained better - I have stayed at this hotel, probably on three other occasions. I was pleased for the price what we received. It was it was fair. You don’t spend a lot of money. Unfortunately, I found used towels hanging in the bathroom and pubic hair and hair all around the bathtub. Huge game changer for me probably won’t be staying there again.
- Ryan (8/5): - Everything was okay, just don’t like the way they charge debit/credit cards.
- Tammy (8/5): - Rooms are in need of repair
- James (8/5): - Very nice rooms for one of the lower prices in town.
- Tom (8/5): -
- Cindy (7/5): - Quiet No breakfast
- Anderson (10/5): Wonderful for the price - NA
- Sandra (6/5): - Gut für eine Nacht auf der Route zum Yellowstone National Park Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig
- Jay (7/5): Pretty good. Yes, I would stay there again. - Better than I thought. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean Just a few little things that would not cost much to fix, but were irritations to me. There was no way to plug in the clock and the night lamp. Sink was mostly plugged. Toilet lid attach broken
- Meir (10/5): - quick checkin.room is well equipped.wifi perfect
- Sherry (8/5): - Staff was friendly and room was clean, but outdated.
- Charles (7/5): - Convenient, inexpensive Not updated, no breakfast. Sliding glass door to parking lot.
- Judy (8/5): Overall it was pretty good. - Location
Cost
Quiet
Clean A/C was not cold enough.
Something in the bathroom smelled sour like mildew. Maybe shower curtain needed replacing.
- Lorraine (10/5): - Spacious room, comfortable bed, central location, close to several restaurants
