Guest Reviews
- Jack (9/5): We stayed at Ta Van for Lunar NY 2026. We enjoyed a good breakfast! -

- Dakota (7/5): - Was in a good location however up a steep hill!! The homestay was very lovely and we were even offered breakfast for VND$50K (however we did find out that this was per person) There were a few stains on towels and blankets, otherwise all good!
- Elior (6/5): It was nice for the cost of it - The room was nice and had a great view.
There was also a patio with the same view.
The shared bathrooms were very spacious.
They have a really cute dog! There was hot water in the showers for exactly one minute.
The shared bathroom and showers were downstairs and the room was one floor above it (but it was cheep too so it’s fine I guess) but one shower was missing the shower head.
No cambiaría nada!
- Nicolas (6/5): - good value for money Staff were not communicative at all. Their main focus seems to be on daily tour groups, so as guests from online bookings, we felt like a lower priority.
There was no soundproofing at all — you could hear everyone snoring, all the alarms, all the whispers etc.
- Sanchez Moreno (10/5): Recomendable -
- Andrea (7/5): Bastante buena!

- Paul (7/5): - Cheap timbered rooms, no sound proofing, and location not as remote as led to believe.
- Thi (9/5): Great value - The room was like a nest hanging up to the hill along with the stunning view of mountains The national flag must be replaced with a new one. It’s torn already.
- Overton (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phillips (10/5): So relaxing and beautiful - 10/10 recommend - We loved the whole family, everyone was so helpful and warm. We had delicious food and the whole house is magical and relaxing, with such beautiful views and surroundings. The walks from the house are right on your doorstep and very beautiful, and there are lots of coffee shops and restaurants nearby if you decide to eat out. They have even now built their own new coffee shop with the BEST view at the bottom of the Homestay. Nothing
- Ilaria (9/5): Superb - Beautiful typical homestay with very kind owners, lovely view all around. Free tea, tasty food and generous portions. We booked a tour with a local guide at the reception and it was amazing. Lots of terraces for relaxing moments, also to admire sunrise and sunset. The lady was confused with the booking but we were always in touch by text message and everything got sorted.
- Wilhelm (8/5): Really cozy place, feels like a little home. Be advised though that there is a curfew at 22 where they lock the front do -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - The hospitality, willingness to accommodate our needs, listened to what we wanted, made suggestions and listened to us. Very warm and friendly. Very genuine. Shared the village culture with us. Organised activities for us and may things easy for us. Felt like we were invited into their family circle. Great food, had taste of genuine village food. General feeling of being welcomed. Fantastic views from our room and the homestay generally. We felt very privileged to be invited to eat with the family. If we ever go back to Sapa we would definitely go back to Tavan View. Weather was colder than we expected but electric blankets much appreciated. Unfortunately the room we had booked was not available due to problems with the water system so we stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom, one of the cheapest options in the homestay. While this was not what we expected we were still extremely happy with our accommodation. The mattress was a bit hard for liking.
- Phoebe (10/5): Lovely homestay - They were an absolutely lovely couple who made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. They also made us incredible food! They provide heated blankets so we were warm despite the cold weather. The surrounding landscape is beautiful Nothing :)
- Ekaterina (9/5): Superb -
- Cathy (5/5): I think the price is quite high for the property. - The view was stunning. The location is very far from Sapa center and the way going to the homestay is very rough.
- Sarah (8/5): Familiar stay - Cute little homestay with familiar atmosphere. The family was very kind and we enjoyed the breakfast. We went there with a taxi but would recommend to go there with a motorcycle from Sapa city. If you're looking for a chilled stay in the nature you're right at this stay.
- Martin (8/5): Very good - The food was excellent, great terrace area. Very noisy at night time and not the most comfortable beds.
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Samuel (9/5): Superb - The hosts were incredible friendly, however as we had a busy schedule we didn't spend too much time there. Try their homemade plum or apple wine, it was delicious.
- Colleen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clarice (8/5): Charming homestay with amazing view - The location is beautiful with a great view! Yen and her family are incredibly kind and helpful. The food is delicious! They could pay a bit more attention to the cleaning. My room was ok but not completely clean.
- Hans (10/5): we stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. - perfect host that speaks english. The food is fantastic. She can organize tour / taxi / bus nothing.
- Amy (10/5): Absolutely beautiful hosts and Homestay surrounded by flowers on the mountain - beautiful Homestay, surrounded by flowers and gardens…. stunning views… Yen and her family were so welcoming and genuinely kind- organized a trek for us and transportation. Our families had several home cooked meals together and the kids played in the yard and rice paddies together. we even learned traditional batik making and spinning of hemp fiber with the neighbor Khu. loved our stay and would recommend wholeheartedly this beautiful oasis. We enjoyed everything
- Judyta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely homestay with garden full off flowers ... our hosts was very friendly, welcoming and helpful .... always smiling ... rooms are small but so cute ... breakfast was simply, delicious, serve with amazing flower tea ... but we enjoyed both vietnamese dinner with them definitely ... we had the opportunity to cook one of them with Anna ...
if you prefer accommodation in the mountains to a crazy city, I wholeheartedly recommend Tavan view homestay. nothing .... place and hosts are amazing ...
- Silvia (10/5): Perfect!! - Lovely homestay, food is amazing, great location. Loved our stay here! More veg option especially for breakfast
- Kieran (7/5): Great experience to be in a homestay and be able to have dinner with family was fantastic to get a feel of how they live - stayed in a homestay with a family. property is in a good location, room was clean and family beautiful people.
- Giuseppe (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and very helpful staff.
- Joris (9/5): Pleasant, would love to return - Yen, our host, was very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner with her and her husband every evening, the food was delicious and atmosphere welcoming.
She also taught us to make spring rolls (which were delicious if we say so ourselves).
The views are spectacular, plenty of opportunities to go for a hike or walk, with our without guide.
