- Navankur (1/5): Worst stay if my travels - Good staff, she is helpful. No electricity for whole night, even a table fan doesn’t work, they have generator but don’t use the generator, i had an inside room with no ventilation, room was suffocating, whole night i was soaking in my sweat, Power Cut is very often and for 6-8 hours with not even fan working,i asked the lady if she can do laundry she said yes but returned my clothes wet and soaked, took full payment also, I already told her only do laundry if it can be done in one day, had to take wet clothes in my bag, taxi drop off to airport costed 12€ i told the lady to tell taxi company to bring change as i had 20€, taxi guy after reaching airport said he doesn’t have change and took whatever amount he liked, Wifi only works when there is electricity. It was so suffocating in room i just wanted to finish the trip as soon as possible. I have travelled to over 160 countries but never ever had a hotel where fan is not working, it is a basic in a room with no ventilation that fan should be connected to generator or some other power source so that guests should not be sweating all night without sleep

- Carolina Pia (10/5): Calmo, confortável, central e a bons preços - A casa está super bem localizada, mesmo no centro da cidade. Ao lado fica o Bairro dos Portugueses, do Instituto Camões. A proprietária é super simpática, disponível, tudo o que há de bom! Vim para aqui depois de quase não dormir em outras zonas da cidade posto o barulho. Sabendo a minha principal exigência, a proprietária desde logo organizou por que ficasse acomodada na zona menos barulhenta da casa (há que ter em conta que qualquer cidade terá trânsito e barulhos normais da vida). Dormi muito bem, com uma cama espaçosa. Há ventoinha para quem é mais calorento, e cozinha, mesas dentro e fora do quarto - dependendo da privacidade que se almeja no momento. Do lado de fora, há um jardim muito bonito onde se pode ficar a conversar ou apenas a observar as plantas. Muito bom alojamento. Não há críticas negativas!

Nombreuses coupures d’eau et d’électricité dans le quartier (mais dans d’autres quartiers également). Beaucoup de moustiques, mais c’est également le cas ailleurs sur l’île.

- Pedro (3/5): Disappointing - It's an affordable accommodation within a 10-minute walk of the centre. This place clearly appears to be someone's house, likely unoccupied due to work or holiday. It was not clean, the staff were unfriendly, and there was always a kid around, entering and exiting the house - perhaps watching us. I'm not sure, but it felt strange. We have access to a small kitchen, a shared bathroom (which is not clearly stated in the description), and a fridge. There is a fan attached to the window in a way that prevents the window from actually shutting, so all night you can hear cars, bikes, and people talking outside. We had to wait 45 minutes for the change when paying! It was a bad experience!
- Andrina (4/5): - stayed here for 3 nights. during my stay, electricity and wifi only worked 40% the time. the third and last night i stayed, there was no water- no running water to boil, no shower and no toilet flush. the corner room i stayed in gets very loud at night and early mornings so bring earplugs. it can get pretty uncomfortable at night if the electricity is down as their backup generator doesn't cover the fan or wifi. the airport shuttle surcharge is 10€ or 250 dobras each way. despite what is written in expedia, the airport shuttle is NOT INCLUDED in the price of the room. because the electricity and internet was down and the staff was nowhere, i had to go across the street to the liquor store to ask the store clerk to call a taxi to the airport.

La finestra de l'habitació no es podia tancar perquè hi havia posat el ventilador. Carrer sorollós durant el dia. Recomano pagar més, i allotjar-vos en un altre allotjament.
- marym (8/5): - The location is great. The shared living room is nice. The owner was very responsive and helpful. The guesthouse is very good value. The WiFi was excellent. You can get a moto taxi to the airport for 40 dobra. Don't pay €10 for a taxi.. There are lots of signs to say don't bang the doors but we were unlucky that the other guests ignored them. There was no water a lot of the time.

Hi ha aigua calenta a la dutxa, cosa que no es troba a tot arreu del país. Ens van deixar utilitzar el safareig per rentar roba. La segona vegada que ens hi vam allotjar, ens van donar una habitació al soterrani i feia força pudor d'humitat.

It's a terrible experience. And door locked there is no handle to hold this door to open or closed. Old system they need to change it. Don't give towel or no clean room 4 days during my stay.
- Anne (8/5): Central accomodation with a helpful host who speaks good english - The best thing about this accomodation was Nilda and her mom. They made us feel so welcome and were a great source if information about a country we didn't know an didn't speak the language. Nildas English is excellent. We felt right at home here. The rooms are basic but clean enough, and the beds were comfortable. The shower waterpressure was low, but there was hot water. The kitchen looked well equipped but we never used it, since Nilda gave so many tips for good restsurants. Easy to walk all around the city from here. The road is very loud and the rooms are hot. Luckily there is a fan and we had very few power cuts.

The mosquito netting was practically non existent and joined with the fact that the windows don’t have any mosquito protection, we got bitten throughout the whole night. They also charge extra for the usage of gas (€1.50), and seem to charge for everything else including for leaving one plastic bag when we were supposed to be coming back. There were better options for a similar price around, we moved to a different hotel and were happy with the change.

I highly recommend this place in São Tomé!! Nothing big but the shared bathroom has a bit of locking issues and sometimes the water stops however, an arrangement is made with filled water bottles.

For the money it is very good value. Central location, too. The airport service was supposed to be free, but we each had to pay 10€ for the ride. Otherwise it is okay, there are mosquito nets above beds. Running water, even hot shower. It was okay for the price. The bed was a bit tired, but everything was clean. Good WiFi, too.

It’s not because of this accommodation but mosquitoes in this island are very aggressive. Living room is cozy but I have to escape into mosquito net in the room after sunset.

A larger than life host, Bernilda and I had a cosy annex room to relax and write during a stressful month. The location is excellent and great Wi-Fi too. This is the only place to consider to stay in Sao Tome.

- Itchy_feet (9/5): Superb - The owner, Nilda, is a genuinely nice and friendly lady who is very helpful. She coordinated with a money changer for our Euros to Dobras at a better exchange rate than anyone else. Our room was simple but clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom was also very clean. Free street parking and strong Wifi are two pluses. We used this casa as our base to explore São Tomé and it was perfect. Lots of great restaurants in town and easy to explore the north, central and southern sections of the island from here. Sunday church service was loud and boisterous... bring earplugs if you don't want to wake up early! Mosquitoes found their way into our room so we had to use the mosquito net at night when sleeping. There are water cuts from the city but if that happens, there are lots of water bottles that you use to take a shower.

The lady in charge of the place is very very nice and welcoming! It’s a perfect place to stay for the first night/s in the city since it is close to everything and the are is calm. The bed of one of the rooms was a bit small for two people, but it was comfortable anyway.
- Anna (9/5): Homely atmosphere with central location - Our host Nilda was wonderful, very welcoming and happy to help us arrange a rental car and provide information. It was a great central location to start exploring the island and to walk around the city. We truly enjoyed the dinners that Dona Fernanda prepared for us on request, delicious! We had asked for an airport pickup (10€) in advance and someone was waiting for us with a sign when we left the airport. Even though the city occasionally has power/water cut, the host was well prepared and accomodating and backup water and a generator helped to overcome these issues. The place had a very homely atmosphere thanks to dona Nilda and dona Fernanda and we would happily stay with them again. As one can expect from a place in the city, there was some noise from the roads and church but it saved us the morning wake up alarm.

Room was hot but u get a fan so basically- getting what u paid for- no complaints. Mosquitoes are around so make sure you use the mosquito net over your bed properly! Definitely worth the money. would stay there again!

It’s walking distance from anything you might need in the city & Nilda is very helpful in giving recommendations for where to go and what to do.

Extremely hot in the room even with a working fan near my bed, no air, very noisy. I was even more surprised when, going to another hotel, discovered that in was fresher on street, than in the room. Furthermore, it is not easy to find the hotel, since there is no signs outside at all

Got us a very nice gentleman to drive us to the airport (who arrived even before scheduled), showed us the house and was excepcionaly nice and friendly. Very good location, a place to chill outside. Really, really friendly place. Nothing.
