- Debra (8/5): - Major construction noises right outside our door (#6), no toiletries or hair dryer, no coffee maker, no blanket for bed (sheet only) Pros: very cute porch area with beautiful trees and bushes, watched the hummingbirds. Friendly construction staff, very polite about not sweeping sawdust on our heads as we walked the pathway to the beach across the street ,super close to beach. The cons were very minimal things (orher then the major construction noise) I would definitely stay there again in the future

- Maria (7/5): Ok but not as expected - Nice powerful shower. Good to have the kitchen to make things and fridge for cold drinks. Able to get the room a bit earlier. Big room with a sofa to relax after diving. Location is different than shown on booking.com map, it is in the centre of town next to a really loud bar rather than at the end of the cove as shown. Aircon very old and temp didn’t change no matter what setting. The apartment had a stale smell to it, especially the bathroom, when being let it someone ran around with airfreshner. Asked to store luggage on checkout and no one was there to take my bag.

- Tatiana (10/5): Great place to explore Roatan and enjoy the coral reefs! - Absolutely amazing place in the middle of West End! I walked to the beach barefoot from my spacious, clean room. Everything was provided for a great stay and the owner communicated with me quickly, assisting with requests. The staff were courteous and helpful, young people in orange T-shirts. They provide beach chairs and even bring them to you to the beach. The water pressure was great in the shower. The wifi was fast and I had no problem streaming and working remotely. There are nice restaurants around. I got a ride from the airport and back for a very reasonable price through the owner. I got a giant filtered water jag for my entire stay for only $3. I would love to go back! Because the coral reef is right there, and you do not need to book any tours to enjoy it. Nothing!

- Catherine (10/5): Overall, Mame Trees was the perfect location and space for our girls trip. - Location was great! And loved the kitchen and plenty of space in the room. Will definitely stay again. They are currently constructing a pool. We will just have to come back to enjoy it.

- Harvey (10/5): Location, location, location! Best place to stay in West End - This place was great and exceeded our expectations, especially in this very reasonable price range. Our hosts were friendly and helpful, made sure we had everything we needed, including a putting us in contact with a reliable driver anytime we needed him. Our Comfort Studio was spacious, clean, tastefully decorated, and had a well equipped kitchen. But what we really liked was the location, a few steps from the best part of the beach to snorkel Half Moon Bay out to the coral reef. It is a very safe, family friendly area, and in the evenings local families would be swimming with their children. In general, people are friendly and helpful here, and most speak pretty good English. And there are great places to eat within a couple of blocks either side. We will definitely be coming back again!

It didn’t have a security guard like the other hotels had luckily all the area around is really safe no issues nothing to worry about. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again from this location if I’m in the area again. The restaurant right next-door to hotel. It’s excellent great prices and yummy food, you guys definitely gotta try the Passionfruit Mojito
- Raúl (8/5): - The place is right in the middle of West Bay, so you have a bunch of restaurants, souvenir shops, bars and grocery stores with the beach right across the street and you can you their beach chair to relax as well. The only issue that we had was that the transportation we had setup, the driver didn't show up so we had to grab a cab to the airport, which was lucky because it was at 6:40 am on sunday and ended up costing just $20 instead of the $25 that we were paying.

We had a nice room, the last night also a small lizard visited the room despite all windows and doors were closed the whole day. Currently there are workers on site building new spaces but it was not disrupting as we spent most of time off the hotel premises.

- Dale (8/5): - It was a clean, nice room. The major downside is that there was no hot water in our room. In both the shower and the sink, if you tried to turn on the hot water there was nothing, so it looks like the valves were closed. Also, they charge 25$ if you want the room cleaned even if you're there for a week or more, which is weird.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A bit pretentious but can't beat the location - The hotel is right across from the beach, the best location in West End. You just cross the street and you're in the sand. They have beach chairs too for customers. The Deluxe room was on the ground floor which I didn't like, everybody passes in.front on the way to their rooms so the curtains need to be on all the time. Great size of the room, king size bed, fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a few utensils. A/C and dehumidifier. The bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. On the downside, the shower had no walls, meaning water was splashed everywhere on the floor; two shower heads is an overkill for the low water pressure. There is hot water, you just need to play with the handle until you figure out where to find it. There are no hooks in the bathroom, no place to put a towel close to the sink and no nightstands near the bed. Also, I found 2 small cockroaches in the room. There's no reception and it feels unsupervised. Overall, it is nice, at the beach, with hot water. A bit pretentious I found but I'd stay again.

No doors to toilet, dark room, Veranda besides the construction site on the hotel yard, big noise from construction, mud and dust, workers walking around. Last day we moved to another hotel, we did not spoile our last day on Roatan ourselves. Never more.

- Javon (3/5): False Advertising in West End - The location. The pictures should be updated to reflect the current condition of the property. While the location was in a prime area of West End, the room and ceiling had holes in the walls, there were no doors leading to the bathroom (only thin curtains), poor lighting, the shower had residual hair and mold, and there was ongoing construction with loud machinery outside of the rooms. The Wi-Fi was also inconsistent. While the staff was friendly, I did not rest well or feel comfortable. I would not stay here again.

- Andrew (10/5): - Property is great, located in the heart of West End in the middle of Half Moon bay. We stayed 10 days in the Moroccan bungalow, which was spacious and clean. Communication with the owner was excellent. We booked an airport transfer with the room, and the driver was on time and stopped at the grocery store for us before taking us to West End. There was construction going on during our visit, but the workers kept the pathways free of dirt/mud even though a lot was washing out in the rain every day. For most rooms, there are a lot of stairs- something to consider for those unable to handle it. It’s far enough off the main road to be quiet and feels secluded with the nice gardens around the property. Can’t wait to go back here!

- juan (10/5): Really good stay - The stay was beyond amazing we had a wonderful time. It was perfect location to the bay. Only down side is the limited amount of towels and when we got clean towels they smelled old.
- Marc-andré (10/5): Garden was beautifull and staff was amazingly friendly - I was in breeze room 6. The room size was perfect for me. It had a large closet and a bathroom large enough for my needs. The staff and garden staff were amazing. One of them used is phone to translate what i was saying to understand me in english. I loved the garden. The garden helped to feel peace and relaxe. I have been to other hotel in roatan and Mame Trees is one the best to stay in. The hotel is in front of the beach. Beware to walk barefoot to the beach if you go swimming in front of the hotel. A homeless stole my sandals when i left them on the beach to go to swim and snorkel. Adam and his family are the owners and were always available for my needs. For instance i lost my room key in the ocean and the gave me a replacement without blaming me for the lost. Nothing to say

- Stephanie (10/5): Perfect location! - Mame trees was excellent! The most perfect location right across the street from the most perfect beach! My deluxe room was clean and spacious. The only thing I needed was a blanket because I was only given a sheet. However, I noticed on the last day that a blanket could have been requested on some written directions. I was a bit confused where to check in as the directions said to go up the hill, but there was a “no trespassing” sign on the gate. However, the day time worker was luckily walking by and saw me confused and helped me check in. Super friendly guy! I will definitely be back to Roatan and will most certainly stay at the Mame Tree again. Oh- also they provide beach loungers- big bonus!

The beach is literally at you feet, just a walk down the path way and you are there.We stayed in the bungalow (2nd floor) and it was perfect for our family. It was supplied with all the kitchenette items you many need, a refrigerator with freezer, a coffee maker, stove and blender. It really felt like home. Make sure you bring extra dish soap, toilet paper, body wash, shampoo and conditioner or you could buy these extra items at the local store with in a two min walk. Staff ( Jose, Marvin and the older gentleman) are very helpful and attentive. They will help get your questions or concerns straighten out or point you in the right directions. They maintain and keep the outside of this facility looking clean and sharp. They should be praised!!

The bed sheets are dark…you would expect white sheets to ensure they’re clean!! The worker didn’t speak English and it was very difficult to communicate. The TV was not working properly. Had to ask for soap to be brought into room.
- Kelly (9/5): Superb - the rooms are clean, everyone that works there is nice. the hotel is in the best location, right across the beach and central to everything. one day they even had someone opening coconuts for us to drink. I would definitely stay again. They charge you to clean the room and the wifi is some of the worst wifi I've ever had. i could not stream netflix or take work calls on the wifi. Not sure if that's a roatan thing or a hotel thing.

- Ellen (7/5): Great location in West End - The location is the greatest & always felt safe at this property. The staff is helpful if needed. The key to the room worked horribly. The tv entertainment is no longer cable, as they’ve switched to streaming. I don’t have international streaming plans from the USA. There was a mouse in the room 5 out of 8 nights.
- Adam (10/5): Great apartment on the beach! - I had a great week in this apartment. -They arraigned pickup from the airport for me. 20$ US taxi ride, about 20-30 min depending on traffic in coxen hole. Driver was on time and had mame tree sign. -When i arrived the staff member was there to carry my luggage. staff wear orange shirts that say staff. I paid the owners in US cash. -I was Queen studio #1. second floor above the shops, stairs to access. I think that floor is 3 queen studios. Then there is a few rooms or studios on the top floor, where the owner was too. And then there is a second building farther back in the property, with more rooms or apartments. I think also a few rooms on the ground floor behind the store. -The studio was great, everything i could need, and clean. Good AC unit. The balcony and hammock was a nice surprise. There is ALOT of wall outlets, so you could charge 20 devices at the same time if needed. TV has a full range of channels, in english, with special channels like national geographic and others, but picture quality is low, static. Bed was comfortable, big shower with hot water. 2 good quality towels. good lighting. Pretty quiet room, cannot hear much from outside. -Location is great, its right on half moon bay, walk across road to the beach. Restaurants all around. Dive and activity shops all around. A few grocery stores/markets in the area. The loud part of the strip is around the corner and not right outside. Sun set across the road. Half moon bay is great for snorkeling too, best beach in west end. -There is a stack of beach lounge chairs in the hotel entrance way, free to use, I think the staff guy was going to carry it for me, but i carried it myself, it is just across the road. -Staff are nice, the workers spoke spanish, but the owner speaks english. You can see the workers cleaning and cutting the grass and stuff during the day. Fast contact on booking and whatsapp - Check out you leave the key in the door. Not many negatives, but i am observant and picky so here is a few: -Ovens do not work, owner said it was because of salt water affecting the burner. Stove tops work and there is a microwave. -Toilet paper cannot be flushed down toilet. Its put in a bin beside toilet. But that is standard in most places on the island. -durring the day the building next door was doing some roof repair, but im sure thats a temporary thing, and i cant hear it inside the room, only when on balcony. -There isnt a good sign for the hotel from the road. It does say "Mame trees" in big writing on the gate, and a hotel sign deeper into the hotel, but that sign should be out near the road. -It says you can watch nexflix and other on the TV, but i couldnt get it to, no idea how to get to the smart TV part of it, and altho it does have lots of english channels (and specialty channels) it is not good picture quality, lots of static. -They are big recyclers on the island, but the apartment didnt have a recycling bin, just a garbage bin. I used my own garbage bags to separate recycling. -No reception, there is contact info for whatsapp and email on the back of the door, and they did reply on whatsapp within a hour or so, but i was having trouble turning on the oven, and just wanted to find a staff person to show me what i was doing wrong, and i couldnt find one. Another time i went to use a beach chair and the staff guy was there and i think he offered to carry the chair to the beach for me, but i did it myself it was just across the road. the next time i went to use a chair there was no one around, i didnt need them to carry it for me but if i was someone who did then i wouldnt know where to find a staff member. The good thing is they do wear bright orange shirts that say staff on them, so its very easy to identify them, and they did seem to be waiting for me when i arrived, i think my taxi driver that was arrainged by them let them know when we were 5 min away or something.
- Betty (5/5): Passable - The room was nice but there was no one around to ask for clean towels or to change the garbage. The view from the room was depressing, evidently there are other rooms that are cabins with a view but my view was a wall. If there was cleaning staff, I never saw them (and I was there for 7 days). I spoke to the owners about getting a ride to the airport early in the morning on my last day, but the driver didn't show up.

- Lauren (8/5): - Great location walking out onto the beach front with dining, shopping & groceries in both directions. You are on the heart of the main street so everything in the area is walkable. I felt incredibly safe and we had the best beach views. The owner is lovely & friendly, speaking great English which was helpful! Room was a very generous size however we had a power outage both days (not the propertys fault, the entire street was out). Highly reccomend, very satisfied!!

- Elizabeth (7/5): Great place to stay for the money, but hard to get checked in! - Great location, and parking available. No office or receptionist! We walked everywhere trying to find someone to check us in. Had to ask for towels, and my sisters door was impossible to unlock. Marvin was exceptional and always had a smile on his face!
- Derrick (4/5): Was an ok stay - The location was fantastic but we had a few issues. First when we got there we were informed that you would have to pay an extra 19% if we used a credit card. Second, the door to our room didn't lock. 3rd, there wasn't any soap, shampoo, or conditioner. When we asked if they had any the employee told us where a store was to buy some. The place did have a safe feel to it but it's not cool having to worry about if your belongings are ok when you leave because the door won't lock. There are many stores, bars, and dive shops close by so the location is excellent. Also, use the cheap buses on your stay in Roatan. No need to rent a car.

Very friendly and helpful owners, called me cab to airport and always answered my emails quickly. You will have to bring toiletries. Complete kitchen. Highly recommended
