R N (10/5): - The building obviously dated from the old Soviet age and it was quite a nostalgic experience to stay there.
561claudm (2/5): NO GO! - Definitely a NO GO! Barely a star for 2024 if you can avoid staying here do so. Nothing changed for the past 30 years in this place. Smelly, dark, dirty, depressing place. It's central and yes that's the only good thing about it but so are other hotels in the area. on the front is advertised it has 4 stars, yes Moldavian soviet stars maybe. I'm pretty sure they still have the listening devices hidden behind the the wall paper. as it's located next to the Moldavian ministry of justice, and close to the old KGB run ministries. flimsy door knobs, broken old mattress on the bed.
David (4/5): - I usually do not post poor reviews but I think - in this particular case - travellers might be forewarned. If you like Soviet era hotels, this is worth a night but it has definitely aged, the carpet in the room and hallways were not clean, the bed definitely sagged, and the bath towel was a hand towel. Service was fine but unremarkable - I suppose people can occasionally overlook calling the airport taxi after you make arrangements. But try it for a different experience … no harm done and it makes for a story.

Verified traveler (8/5): One night at Dacia - The Dacia must not get many reviews on Hotels.com because it was a little bit involved for me to pay. However, every staff member I met was polite and respectful. The staff member working when I checked in went to my room to make sure all the amenities worked. For a hotel with a four-star rating I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The carpet was a little dirty. However, for the price of the room, I shouldn't complain.
Harpinder (6/5): Probably better staying somewhere else... - I stayed here as it was local and central. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel. There was no slippers and robes as advertised. Breakfast was very basic. Staff could not speak English. It was at best a 2star hotel. No kettle or room service when needed. The beds were comfy but the whole feeling of the hotel was very cold and outdated. I felt like someone was going to break into our room, it doesnt feel very safe.

S.P. (8/5): - Staff is good and so is location. In centre of city. Easily approachable. Lot of eating points at walking distance. Safe and peaceful area. Nice park at 100m from hotel for jogging or walking. Breakfast is good and has options for vegetarians. Only issue was wifi.
618boba (4/5): Old Soviet style hotel - awful - I stayed here as part of a group tour so it not somewhere I would normally have chosen. It is central for the city and within walking distance of the main city centre sights. The hotel has a fairly impressive entrance even if it is a little dark and poorly lit. Check in was swift and I was allocated a room on the second floor. The room was something else. An explosion of brown fabrics and textures and truly awful to look at. Even if you took the approach of it being kitsch it was still awful. Bed was very uncomfortable and with scratchy synthetic fabric bedding. Air conditioning did not work and the old TV showed just a handful of channels. The room and the rest of the hotel was very clean though. There was a fridge with a few items in a mini bar and a huge wardrobe for hanging stuff but no safe in my room. The bathroom was tiny and looked dated and tired. There was plenty of hot water and also clean towels. Breakfast was very poor. A small buffet with no fresh fruit and no eggs on one day. No milk for cereal one day either and juices were highly processed. Service non existent. There was free wifi in the hotel which did work at all times. As for the bar - forget it. It was closed hen we we're there and the staff had no intention of serving you. You could sit in reception where the staff blared out pop music videos on their huge tv but nowhere else to go to relax if you wanted to.
gazzamuppet (6/5): Retro and just about average - No safe, ill fitting door that let in lots of light and didn't look secure. Air con moved air about a bit but certainly didn't cool it. One window blind broke the other missing. Not a lot going for it really!
lbernatik (10/5): Value for money - Quite nice old fashioned hotel. Don’t expect 4 stars standard but it’s very convenient for the money you pay. The breakfast was simple but ok. The location is approx 1 km from centre (if there is some :) ). Very nice staff.
AneLandoy (6/5): More and more rundown - I have been travelling to Chisinau for several years now always staying at hotel Dacia, but after the last visit i really wonder why. Yes, the location is great, close to the park and Stefan cel mare, but the hotel i being run down and shabby, the breakfast is more and more strange. Rooms are huge, and clean, and there is plenty of hot water in the shower.
simply-peregrinating (6/5): Central location - Centrally located on a quiet road. Our room was small which made it unbearabley hot at night and the air conditioning was totally ineffective so sleeping was difficult. The room was a little dated with the sleeping area in one room, in an additional room was a fridge and a big wardrobe. The bathroom was tiny, the toilet was squashed into a corner so it was difficult to sit on it. The toilet seat was broken and fell off hitting my foot. I propped up the toilet seat on the floor but after the room had been made up it was balanced again on the toilet. The shower was up a high step making it inaccessible to anyone with mobility problems. The towels were soft and thick and the water piping hot. Breakfast was reasonable with very tasty porridge and good coffee. There was a small area outside where you could sit with a drink.
All77 (6/5): Cean, but outdated - The hotel is a former star of the hotels in Chisinau. Is very well located, near the city center, in a quiet and safe area, near the UN Representative or Ministry of Justice. 24h reception and security. Rooms are clean but very outdated. Breakfast is various and tasty. Transfer from the Airport to the hotel cost around 5 euro (90-100 lei moldovenesti). Not recomended for romance trips.
Himalaya-to-Carolina (4/5): Four Stars? Not Even Close - Hotel Dacia calls itself a 4-star hotel, which it’s definitely not. It’s a Soviet-style hotel in a good downtown location that most Westerners would probably give two stars. My room was clean and fairly large but one of the elevators was broken, the shower door was broken, the TV remote control didn’t work, the door lock was flimsy, the toilet was difficult to flush, the corridor was dark and noisy, and our dinner, which was a “set meal” in a special room with a group, felt like a cafeteria. Our students, who included teenagers, were assigned with three students per room to rooms having a single bed. Chisinau has hotels that are even more modest but it also has newer and nicer options for Westerners, such as the City Park (which is cheaper), or higher-end options such as the Radisson. The Hotel Dacia is friendly and OK, and I might have given it a higher rating if it were honest about what it is offering, but four stars? No way.
OlegS466 (4/5): Disappointing versus expectations - Stayed there for 2 nights. The hotel by itself and everything inside is very-very old without renovation... The carpet in a corridor and in the room smells not so good. Breakfast is terrible... All the meal is placed at two small tables and they explain you that no need to bring food there because the number of guests is low. Stay away from this hotel
Tinus-M123 (6/5): Back to the USSR - The location of the Dacia hotel is great in the centre of Chisinau. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The dark corridors and eighties couch on every floor take you back to the Soviet union days. Perfect option in the pleasant Moldovan capital. :-)

WilFounex (8/5): Good location in town - Not a fancy hotel but a good place to discover Chisinau. Clean, big room and good beds! Close to the parc and restaurants. Friendly staff, just the Wifi in the rooms was not always working. Breakfast very sovietic.

Breakfasts weren't great. Try to get your room price down without their breakfast and walk to Hotel Codru for a great meal! Building does scream Soviet Era styling!
260raulp (8/5): Socialist - Nice, clean and very sovietic. Quiet building, good sleep. Position is a key for this hotel. Prices are reasonable and staff is very helpful and friendly. The food variety at the restaurant is quite big, offering Moldavian dishes, but also Russian style .
miha-con (6/5): Not a 4 star hotel - This is at most a 3 star hotel. And I cannot say we were unhappy with it, just disappointed, as it does not deliver what it advertises. We had to ask for everything from slippers to a hair dryer to our room to be cleaned. They did not change the sheets daily, just made the bed and cleaned a little in the bathroom. The personnel is very nice and friendly, though and the rooms were clean. Also, the wifi is functional, with a nice speed. All in all, I think you can do better in Chisinau for the same price, but it is acceptable if you do not have a better option.
danilasorindaniel (8/5): Good location - The hotel is quite good, central location, clean and quiet. Room was clean, comfortable bed, bathroom ok. Breakfast a little bit poor, but good quality. They have to improve the buffet coffee quality, but you can ask for an espresso at the bar for a small amount of money. Unfortunately they don't have a parking lot, so if you go there by car, rented or own, you'll have a problem. Hotel staff advise you to park on sidewalk in front of the hotel, but if you don't have an SUV or 4x4 is quite difficult to do it. For a sport car or a coupe don't even think about it. They have two elevators, one small, for max 2 persons and the other one quit big, for luggage cart. Air-co and heating good. Good wifi coverage all around hotel and comfortable speed.
