It really enhanced our experience at the Tamarind Resort however we would’ve loved our stay even if this did not happen. The staff are the ones who truly made our stay so wonderful and welcoming. They are so kind and helpful. They really get to know you. Shout out to Dewi who took such amazing care of us! Location is excellent! It is a short walk from the harbor if you’re traveling light and there are taxis available if you have heavy luggage. We enjoyed easily walking to the beach and exploring the main street of this area of Lembongan. To get to excursions and back to the harbor, the hotel arranged the taxis for us which was very convenient. The property itself is so beautiful! I loved the lush plants, the infinity pools, and the general aesthetic. We enjoyed seeing frogs and lizards existing harmoniously on the grounds. We are already planning our return to the Tamarind.

- Emily (10/5): perfect. - Basically everything - the staff was extremely nice and helpful - I asked for quite many activities for them to plan for us so that we would have a smooth and uncomplicated stay - and they took literally care of everything! Also the room was super clean, the whole hotel is really nice - you have two infinity pools, one with a bar and both really nice view! - for us it was the perfect stay. I remember before I booked the accommodation, some people wrote in the reviews there are so many stairs and I was scared and really thinking omg is it that bad? - but no haha firstly the staff brings your luggage up and secondly yeah there are a few steps but on the other hand you don't hear anything from the traffic or anynoice but the water running down the fountain and the birds tweeting! For me definitely worth it. nothing.
- Måns (3/5): Se text ovan. - Olyckligtvis vår andra och sista natt upptäckte min sambo precis innan vi skulle släcka lampan en massivt stor spindel i vårat rum. Vi hade haft balkongdörren öppen minimalt och under uppsyn när vi väl öppnade den. Spindel hade kommit från innertaket och gjorde att vi kändes oss mycket osäkra och otrygga i rummet. Vi ringde receptionen 5 gånger utan svar. Lyckligtvis fick vi tag på Securitas för att min sambo sprang ner i morgonrock 2 gånger och sökte dem som lät oss byta rum. Dagen därpå berättade vi om denna händelse till receptionen varpå hotellet bjöd oss på våran ”rumsnota”. Vi sov tyvärr inget under den natten då även om vi bytte rum kände vi oss inte trygga. Jag har själv jobbat i restaurang och hotell branschen och gjort det på några av Sveriges bästa restauranger med stjärnor i Guide Michelin samt Grand Hotel i Stockholm med sina fem stjärnor. Jag hade blivit nöjd och tacksam om hotellet hade bjudit på hela vistelsen eller i sämsta fall den andra natten som gjorde att vi var sömnlösa. I mina tankar så ska detta inte kunna hända på ett femstjärnigt hotell. Servicen och personalen var mycket omtänksamma och snälla men i mina ögon är standarden varken på rummen, omgivningen eller faciliteterna i sin helhet en standard som jag upplever att femstjärniga hotell har. I skrivande stund bor vi på ’Apurva Kempinski’ på Bali (Nusa Dua) Även detta är ett femstjärnigt hotell och troligen det bästa vi bott på. Tyvärr upplever både jag och min sambo att Tamarind i jämförelse känns som ett 2 eller i bästa fall ett 3-stjärnigt hotell.

El servicio es amable y siempre dispuesto a ayudar, la ubicación es muy buena y la habitación resulta cómoda y acogedora. Quiero destacar especialmente el excelente servicio en el restaurante, donde la empleada Devina nos atendió con una amabilidad y profesionalidad excepcionales. Gracias a ella, cada comida fue aún más especial. El desayuno es fantástico, con buena variedad y gran calidad. Una estancia muy agradable y totalmente recomendable.

- Emma (7/5): Lovely staff - The staff were lovely and very attentive. The room was comfortable and the bed provided a very restful sleep. Location perfect for our needs. A typical Bali experience, properties here naturally age quickly due to the climate. While some of this is outside the control of owners and staff, certain parts of the building did look noticeably worn. Some areas could likely be refreshed, while others may simply reflect the effects of the environment. Overall, the hotel showed a bit more wear and tear than I expected for the price point.

Le personnel est d’une gentillesse remarquable et d’un professionnalisme rare, en particulier Harry et Eka qui ont largement contribué à rendre notre séjour exceptionnel. Le petit déjeuner est d’une qualité irréprochable, varié et délicieux. L’emplacement est idéal : même s’il n’est pas directement en bord de mer, tout est facilement accessible et cela n’a en rien gâché notre expérience. Preuve que nous nous y sentions merveilleusement bien : nous avions prévu de rester 3 nuits… nous en avons finalement passé 6 ! Un hôtel que nous recommandons sans hésiter. - Marie (9/5): Top Hotel für einen Aufenthalt auf Nusa Lembongan! - Sehr große und schöne Zimmer. Bett sehr bequem und sauber. Jeden Abend gab es noch kleine Wasserflaschen und Kekse. Das fanden wir eine tolle Aufmerksamkeit. Der Service war gut und das Hotel war gut gelegen. Auf Anfrage wurde man kostenlos vom nächstgelegenen Hafen abgeholt (ggfs kostet es etwas wenn man einen etwas entfernteren Hafen auf der Insel ansteuert). Treppen gab es ja, war aber alles machbar und man hatte einen tollen Blick, insbesondere vom Hauptpool aus (es gibt 3 Pools). Am Hauptpool gibt es eine Bar. Entgegen anderer Rezensionen empfanden wir die Pools als sehr sauber, auch die Handtücher. Die Auflagen waren etwas fleckig, was aber normal ist, wenn man helle Auflagen hat. Wir haben einen Scooter direkt beim Hotel gemietet, da es sehr entspannt war. Ein großer Scooter hat 200k für einen Tag gekostet. Natürlich gibt es einen Scooter woanders teilweise günstiger aber man muss suchen und hat nicht den Service direkt vor der Haustür. Wir fanden den Preis daher okay. - Neben dem Frühstück zum bestellen gab es noch ein kleines Buffet mit Croissants, Müsli und co. Wir hatten in anderen Hotels schon sehr gute Croissants, die frisch gebacken waren und direkt an den Tisch gebracht wurden. Die Croissants vom Buffet waren leider eher pappig und nicht wirklich ansehnlich und lecker. Das könnte insbesondere bei einem 5 Sterne Hotel besser sein. - an der Toilette im Bad roch es teilweise etwas nach Urin

- Anja (7/5): Nice and comfortable hotel - Great staff, excellent cuisine, good location During our stay it was extremely noisy as there was a large group of friends staying there. Whenever they spent their time at the hotel premises the staff did not have time to take care of the other guests and the noise and lack of respect was close to unbearable. A fact that should have been mentioned during the reservation process.

Restaurant de l'hôtel très bon! Photos sur booking très vendeuses, établissement très vieillissant qui pour moi n'est plus un 5 étoiles. Odeur de fumée toute la nuit, car porte fenêtres du balcon jolies mais non hermétiques. Ménage non effectué quotidiennement malgré écriteau de demande mis à 7h du matin. Location de scooter possible à l'hôtel, mais ceux-ci sont en mauvaise état, et le personnel ne dispose pas de différentes tailles de casque.

- Diogo (10/5): Exceptional! - I can hardly put into words how exceptional our stay at the Tamarind Resort was. From check-in to check-out, everything was flawless. The location is unbeatable, set at the perfect intersection of Jungutbatu Beach and the rest of Nusa Lembongan. The architecture of the hotel, perched elegantly on the hillside, has been designed with remarkable care - from the welcoming reception to the upper floors. There are three infinity pools, each thoughtfully positioned with breathtaking views. The rooms were spacious, extremely comfortable, and spotlessly cleaned each day. A lovely touch was the fresh cookies replenished daily. The restaurant served the best food we had on the island, both in quality and presentation. Although one of the upper pools was under maintenance during our stay, the hotel more than made up for it with a complimentary full Balinese massage, which was both restorative and memorable. What truly sets Tamarind apart, however, is the staff. From morning until night, they welcomed us with warm smiles, professionalism, patience and genuine care. A special thanks to Harry, Dewi, and their teams for looking after us so well. My partner and I would return in a heartbeat. Tamarind combines effortless elegance with heartfelt hospitality - qualities that will no doubt stand the test of time. No notes.

- Elena (7/5): Falta que te guíen un poco y ayuden a coger actividades - La villa es muy chula, al lado de donde coges el ferry y el personal del restaurante muy simpático. El desayuno muy bueno. Nos ha faltado que en recepción nos guiaran un poco más con los tours/actividades y nos ayudaran a cogerlos. Cuando preguntamos nos dijeron que el tour de mantas estaba reservado ya y no nos dieron otra opción. No hay ascensor y has de subir muchas escaleras a pie. La habitacion de abajo olía bastante a humedad y cojín un poco mojado, las habitaciones de arriba muy bien por eso.
- Sophie (10/5): Relaxing and super comfortable - The hotel has a boutique feel and wasn’t too crowded. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, super accommodating for any request. The room was really spacious, clean and well maintained. The view from the rooftop pool was great and so relaxing to hang out at. Breakfast is ordered a la carte and was delicious! There are quite a lot of stairs to walk up but we were aware of this before booking and didn’t mind.

- Kruse (4/5): Geld absolut nicht wert - Da wir in einer Nacht und -Nebelaktion spontan unser vorheriges Hotel verlassen mussten, waren wir sehr dankbar, dass uns das Hotel trotz der nicht besetzten Rezeption aufgenommen haben. Frühstück war ok. Personal war freundlich Wir mussten trotz der paar Stunden Aufenthalt 185€ bezahlen. Sie haben uns noch angeboten, wenn wir eine Nacht zusätzlich buchen, würden wir 30% Nachlass bekommen. Aber dieses Hotel entsprach kein Stück unseren Erwartungen. Und schon gar nicht 5 Sterne! Am schlimmsten war der Pool…er war voller Algen und hat gestunken. Die Lage war zwar am Strand. Aber die Umgebung ist wirklich nicht schön. Fazit: Für dieses Geld bekommt ihr auf Bali definitiv was besseres geboten!!

Wonderful staff, very caring The pools were not that well maintained and the water was not cleverly clear. I didn’t see any signs of active filtration and wondered about the level of chlorination. My family and I all got sick during our stay and we wondered about the pool water. The hotel were great in looking after us and offered a voucher for a free one night stay

- Pirom (8/5): A lovely place to stay in Lembongan, but property a bit old. Very friendly staff, superb granola, and amazing massage at - Fairly convenient for Lembongan and the room was nice and big. The staff were friendly but huge props to the restaurant staff in particular who even helped us hold and entertain our 4 month old baby whilst we ate. I appreciated that they went the length to learn our names. Food was overall decent but inconsistent in seasoning, often underseasoned more than not. But for example the breakfast granola and other dishes like the pancakes, fruit bowls are excellent, but yet the croissant was soggy and almost rancid smelling. We did two massages at the in house spa and the therapist they had did a fantastic job. Better massage than at Spring which until now, we considerd to be the best in Lembongan. It’s a very dated property, from the room itself to the pool showers you can see it’s aging and there hasn’t been real upkeep. Shower pressure could be better, and a lack of hooks in the bathroom is just annoying. They did provide us a drying rack but I feel that should be standard in all rooms. Likewise with the spa, the treatment room is nice but small things like the bathroom was not really maintained and the bathtub they had clearly hadn’t been used in months/years but no one bothered to just wipe it down. Also don’t be fooled by the picture of the room on the website, no way do you get a view of Mt Agung like that.
- Ambika (10/5): 10/10 amazing place, definitely worth it for the views, food and staff - Beautiful views from the pools - I don’t think you would find somewhere better. It was quiet when we stayed and we were often the only people at the pool. Food at the resort was also very good, we were surprised given how remote the island is but it was high quality. The staff were lovely, especially Ade, Putu and Jay. Close location to the port, easy to walk to some nice restaurants nearby. I think the rooms look tired and need to be refreshed. The decor is uninspiring. Far too high prices for hotel booked excursions and taxis, beyond what I would expect for a 5* hotel and as a result we did not book with them.
- Catherine (8/5): Beautiful stylish hotel in a convenient location - One of the best hotel breakfasts I've had for a long time. Excellent a la carte with several options for non meat eaters. Spacious room , bathroom and balcony. A bit of a sea view which was nice. Nicely decorated. Plenty of fresh drinking water which i really appreciated. Staff all very friendly and gracious and keen to look after us. The mini bar bill was a shock. I travel a lot and by anyone's standards, AUD27 for a small can of coke and a very ordinary bar of chocolate is outrageous. Shame because it's the last thing that happens so we left with a sour taste. The only reason we didn't go to a shop for these was illness. Second, small thing but our room was near the restaurant and it was a bit annoying being woken up at 7am each morning by the music. If we went again I'd ask for a room further away.

The staff were fabulous and attentive, knowing all our names. Very clean. The meals were great, and generous. We would definitely stay here again!

- Tash Bing (10/5): Would definitely stay again. - The location was great and so was the food and the staff. The pools were great too, but we mostly used the rooftop pool. The staff remember your name and were eager to offer advice and assistance. The breakfast was good, no buffet so you could order what you really wanted from their breakfast selection. Pastries were always freshly made daily too. It’s only a short walk to the beach and some nice tourist shops. I love how easy it was to hire a scooter and driver around the island and over the yellow bridge to other locations. Our fav destination this trip. We will be back! The also fog for mosquitoes every week which helps. The views are amazing too. Not so much that we didn’t like, but the deluxe room didn’t have as good a view as the superior even though it was more expensive. They were identical inside the room. If you don’t like stairs, this isn’t for you…. But a bit of extra exercise was fine for us.

- Ingo (4/5): Altes Hotel mit absurdem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis - Ehrlich gesagt fällt mit da außer der Lage nicht viel ein. Es ist ein Rätsel für mich, wo die hohe Booking-Bewertung herkommt. Das Hotel ist alt. Vergilbtes Interior, Brand- und Wasserflecken in den Polstern usw. Ich hatte um ein ruhiges, abgelegenes Zimmer gebeten... und eines direkt über dem Hotelrestaurant bekommen, in dem man das Gedudel vom Restaurant bei geschlossenen Türen im Zimmer hören konnte. Ein Zimmerwechsel war nicht möglich. Für diese Anlage 300EUR die Nacht aufzurufen ist ehrlich gesagt absurd.

- Veronica (8/5): Great choice for luxury stay - Very good 5 star accomodation. Staff friendly, breakfast is great. Location is very central. We had BBQ dinner & this was included in our stay as we stayed 3 nights. Rooms very comfortable Drinks are pricey. Rooms can be a bit noisy as located next to the road, rooms below guests were a bit noisy into the night. Shower is not very hot, like warm at best.

- Donve (8/5): - The staff were very accommodating and kind. Pools and view are lovely. Hotel didn't feel like it was out to squeeze you for every cent like some hotels. Staff were happy to help organise scooter etc. Bed was comfy, and small things like biscuits for turndown was a nice touch. I could also see hotel had taken into account some things mentioned in previous reviews (like putting lots of water in rooms and room towels looking decent). Some of the facilities (more the building) are showing a wear and tear. It's still a lovely hotel but not as new looking as pics, kitchen quite dark and dates, and the mosquito screen in the lounge was quite dirty. Also sometimes there would be a drain smell in one or two walkways. I think maybe the island in general took a bit of a knock in COVID which is understandable

Nice rooftop swimming pool with a beautiful panoramic view of the beach and ocean below with a backdrop of an active volcano. Staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating to my every need.
