• Christine (10/5): Unterkunft mit sehr viel Charme, mitten in der Altstadt & nahe am Strand - Die Lage, perfekt ! Kostenloser Parkplatz in der Nähe, der Besitzer sooooooo hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend selten sowas erlebt! einmalig ! Es gibt einen Neubau und Altbau, der Aufzug befindet sich nur im Altbau. Das sollte man wissen vor der Buchung, wenn man diesen benötigt. Es war alles perfekt!

• Christine (10/5): Ein wunderschöner und äußerst herzlicher Aufenthalt. - Das Apartment liegt in einer Fußgängerzone mit tausend Shops, mit einer netten Bar direkt um die Ecke. Alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Yannis ist super nett und hilfsbereit und würde einen am Morgen sogar zu einem der vielen guten Bäcker begleiten. Er hat uns zum kostenlosen Parkplatz begleitet uns bei unserem Gepäck geholfen. Das Apartment wird sogar täglich gereinigt. Die umliegenden Geschäfte sind hochwertiger und verkaufen nicht nur die üblichen Touristenartikel.

• Armin (10/5): Ein wunderbarer Urlaub auf Kreta im Hotel Afroditi in Rethymno. - Mit Yannis hatten wir einen wunderbaren Gastgeber der uns bei der Ankunft gleich mit den Koffern vom Taxi abgeholt hat, uns Informationen und Unterlagen zu Rethymno und Umgebung gegeben hat (Sehenswürdigkeiten, Restaurants, Badestrand, Ausflugziele in der Nähe etc.) und uns auch in den nächsten Tagen immer wieder neu Auskünfte geben konnte und vieles für uns organisiert hat. Das Appartement war stattlich groß, hochwertig (das große Bett hatte eine einteilige gute Matratze), sauber und immer täglich gereinigt (neue Handtücher sooft man wollte). Es gab Wein-und Sektflaschen als Empfangsgeschenk im Zimmer sowie reichlich Obst und Mineralwasser das täglich nachgelegt wurde. Für den Strandgang bekamen wir Badetücher und Sonnenschirme. Trotz der Lage mitten in der Altstadt war es im Hotel sehr ruhig, das gilt sicher immer besonders für Appartements wie unseres das "nach hinten" heraus lag. Alles in allem war also das Afroditi und besonders mit Yannis als Gastgeber die bestmögliche Unterbringung für einen sehr schönen Urlaub in Rethymno auf Kreta. (Yannis zahlreiche kleine Abschiedsgeschenke zu Land, Kultur und Kulinarik waren dann der Schlusspunkt dazu) Nichts

• Peggy (10/5): Great property, great location - 10 out of 10 would stay again. - We arrived late, in the dark, due to a late ferry. It was tricky finding parking and the hotel but when we did it was a great experience. The owner checked us in and gave us a ton of information. The room had absolutely everything you could want including a welcome bottle of wine and lovely fruit in the refrigerator. There was a tiny balcony. It was just a short walk to lots of restaurants and shops. We loved it here.

• Victoria (10/5): Wonderful stay in a beautiful town with the most caring possible host. - I loved my stay in Rethymno. My lodgings at Afrodite were beautiful and charming, and I really appreciated the comfortable bed, kitchen amenities and washing machine. But the best thing about staying at Afrodite is Yannis, the exceptionally kind and caring owner. He arranged a wonderful taxi driver, Stelios, to pick me up at the airport, met the taxi a few blocks away and carried my bags to the hotel, and brought me juice, fruit and a bottle of wine when I checked in. Later, when I had a medical concern, he accompanied me to the hospital and stayed there until I was seen by the doctors. Yannis exemplifies the Cretan virtue of "filoxenia."

• colin (10/5): Outstanding Customer Service and Location ! - The host was very helpful in arranging parking and advice on local restaurants and historical sites in the area. The apartment was huge and had a nice outside porch to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or a cup of coffee in the morning. Our apartment also had a nice peek-a-boo ocean view. The kitchen was fully loaded with lots of extra accoutrements. We needed nothing = The host has been in the business a long time and knows all about customer service and satisfaction ! Over-all an excellent stay ! This is an almost 200 year old building which I believe was formally a Russian and then French Embassy. Being an old conversion from meeting rooms to apartments it definitely has its share of quirkiness. Not sure about the other rooms = but our bathroom was definitely overdue for a needed refresh/renovation.

Ne-a oferit multe informaţii utile despre oras, despre locurile de vizitat si unde putem manca. Ne-a ajutat si cu parcarea. La sosire am fost intampinati cu un cadou din partea casei. Heeft veel goede tips over wat te doen in Rethymnon en ook tips voor restaurants. In de kamer staat water, fruit en krijg je een fles wijn als je incheckt, allemaal bij de prijs inbegrepen.

Le logement est plus grand que nous pensions, il nous avait prévu de l'eau en suffisance, des fruits frais tous les jours, une bouteille de bulles, des conseils visites... Il a été d'un amabilité et d'une aide précieuse pour un problème de santé qui a surgi durant le séjour. Je conseille vraiment ce logement au centre de Rethymnon.

• JuliajG (9/5): Old World Charm - Don't expect sleek and modern style, but the room is large, clean, and with all the amenities. Great location. Large bathroom, completely enclosed shower. Comfortable bed. Good communications with host. Elevator from ground floor. Yannis was on the main street waiting for us at our check-in time. This was very helpful as we would have missed the cross street where Afroditi is located. Look for the 'Trap Barber Shop' sign and barber pole as the landmark for where to turn. Maps and lots of information about the area provided by Yannis. Water, wine, juice, fruit in room, and 'thank-you' gifts were an added bonus. Even with deterrents, mosquitoes still get in the room. Screens are not that common in Europe, especially on older buildings. Expect some street noise. Balcony quite small but nice to let in fresh air.

Επίσης οι συμβουλές και οι συστάσεις του για αξιοθέατα, ταβέρνες, ζαχαροπλαστεία κ.λπ. και τα φυλλάδια και οι χάρτες που μας χάρισε! Το ψυγείο μας ήταν γεμάτο από φρούτα, νερά, χυμό, κρασί! Έθεσε στη διάθεσή μας τσάι, καφέ και ό,τι του ζητήσαμε. Ήταν εξαιρετικά φιλόξενος και θα μας μείνει αξέχαστος και ο ίδιος και το κατάλυμα! Δεν υπάρχει τίποτε που δεν μας άρεσε!

• Neil (10/5): Fantastic stay, thoughtful gifts, spotless room, wonderful host. - When we arrived at Afroditi in Rethymno, we were greeted by Yannis, a truly lovely man who could not do enough for us. At reception, he told us all about the history of the town, the churches, and recommended some excellent restaurants. Our room was spotless, in a traditional Greek style, and Yannis had kindly left us gifts: large bottles of water, a fridge full of fresh fruit, and even a free bottle of wine. The facilities were outstanding – fresh towels daily, free air conditioning, a free safe, a washing machine, kettle, coffee maker, sandwich toaster, hair dryer, and even hair straighteners (a first for us in a hotel!). Every morning Yannis greeted us with a warm “kaliméra – Good Morning” and a big smile. On our last day, he even invited us out for drinks, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The hotel’s location is ideal – right in the centre of the Old Town, close to shops, bars, and restaurants, and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. If you’re looking for a very welcoming, traditional Greek hotel, I would definitely recommend Afroditi.

Cette fois ci ma mère et ma tante nous ont rejoint et elles ont également adoré Afroditi. L'accueil chaleureux de Yannis est inégalable. Ses conseilles sont bienvenus. Tout est propre. We were greeted on arrival by Yannis who helped us find the car park and even took our luggage for us. He gave us lots of recommendations of things to do and then showed us to our room which was lovely and had absolutely everything you could need. The fridge was full of fruit and we got drinks on arrival. We were also given gifts when we left! We cannot recommend this place enough if you are visiting Rethymno and we would definitely come back. • Fodor (10/5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Afroditi Hotel - Rethymno - We spent our vacation at Afroditi Hotel from August 18 to 25, 2025 and it was a fantastic experience. The accommodation is clean, friendly, has a family atmosphere, and is close to everything: a few minutes walk from the beach, shops. The rooms are comfortable, we found them tidy every day, the cleaning staff came every day. Even our 4-year-old son had his own bed made up. We have to highlight Yannis, the host, who was always smiling and helpful. He answered all our questions, suggested programs, and even gave us gifts before we went home. When we arrived, champagne, wine, fruit juices and fruits were waiting for us in our room. Yannis made our time here really feel like home. Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in Rethymno, both families and couples. We will definitely book here again if we return to Crete! 💙🇬🇷

The location is perfect; within walking distance of the beach and right in the heart of the historic center. The beds were very comfortable, and the facilities provided everything needed for a pleasant stay. The authentic interior design of the rooms was also a big plus. Most importantly, the hospitality of Yannis was truly exceptional. We received a lovely welcome, complete with thoughtful gifts on arrival, and even more when we departed. Everything was carefully chosen and meaningful. Yannis is not only an excellent host but also a genuine representative of his culture, with a warm and welcoming attitude.

• karine (10/5): Un hôtel à recommander vivement pour un séjour sur Rethymnon - Un endroit magnifique en plein cœur de la vieille ville, au calme et avec le parking gratuit au port. L'accueil de la personne de la réception est exceptionnel, il se met en quatre pour ses clients, nous avons été reçus come des rois et nous sommes même repartis avec des cadeaux ! La chambre qui donnait sur une cour intérieure était très calme, ce qui est un luxe pour le quartier. Le logement est fonctionnel et très bien équipé pour 3 personnes.
