- Verified traveler (8/5): Vista linda, mas preço alto para o que oferece. - O local da pousada é lindo, natureza espetacular e vista privilegiada. As instalações deixam a desejar pelo preço cobrado. Os apartamentos internos, são básicos. O chalé que ficamos no último dia de estadia, deixou a desejar na limpeza. Outro detalhe mega importante que não avisam antes, tem muitas escadas, e precisa ter uma boa disposição física para ir do chalé até a recepção. Café da manhã muito simples, e sem variedades de um dia pro outro.

Falta de espaço para acomodar roupas e produtos de higiene pessoal, as persianas não impedem a entrada de luz e em em fim a falta de atenuante acústica na suite que ficamos ( da mata ) . Todos os dias éramos acordadas por volta de 7h pelas conversas do pessoal da recepção .
- Jane (10/5): - Casa Luz is one of those discreet gems you always hope to find in a hotel. It is a beautifully carved property into the mountainside right down to the sea. The experience of the location, the lovely, helpful hotel staff, the world class restaurant and the peaceful yoga and massage space epitomize the best of Paraty and its environs. The staff is knowledgeable of and able to arrange any kind of activity from boating to hiking and more. The local food prepared impeccably and with great attention to local plants and available fish and meat at the restaurant aptly named Pindorama or Land of the Palms or perhaps “Paradise” is to be savored. Overall, an excellent experience and highly recommend this hotel.

Only given 4 stars as the car park could be improved (very steep/narrow slope), and the restaurant seems to be on the pricey side for dinner with high end options and could offer more dishes at the mid range.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Problemas no ralo do banheiro - A experiencia foi decepcionante. O banheiro estava com o ralo do chuveiro entupido, então não podíamos tomar banho sem que alagasse todo o banheiro, chegando agua ate mesmo no quarto. Fomos até a recepção tentar resolver o problema mas o rapaz do turno da noite não foi muito receptivo com a reclamação, dizendo que isso era algo que podia acontecer em qualquer hotel e mandaria alguem da manutenção no quarto. Pedimos para trocar de quarto enquanto a manutenção fizesse o reparo mas ele disse que não seria possível. Resultado: a manutenção só foi no dia seguinte e não conseguiu resolver. No fim da estadia não tivemos nenhum desconto. Disseram que mandariam um voucher para uma diária de cortesia, mas já fazem 2 dias e até agora ninguém enviou nada.

Podiam colocar cimento para facilitar a saída. Se chover, fica preso. Outra coisa é o café da manhã. Muito pesado. Sem opção de bolo e pães. Sempre a mesma salada de fruta, o mesmo iogurte, o mesmo cardápio para escolha. Tomei café da manhã só no primeiro dia. O quarta tem um bom espaço, porém no nosso tinha uma barata e um grilo mortos. Pedimos para limpar e ficou lá do mesmo jeito. A área da piscina é muito agradável. O restaurante é muito bonito.

O quarto branco é pequeno e a banheira tbm mto pequena, a acustica não é boa, dá pra ouvir mto barulho dos quartos do lado e da maquina do ar condicionado. A rampa do estacionamento é bem ingrime mas não tivemos problemas maiores, staff muito atencioso.

- gkgarg20 (10/5): Amazing experience near Paraty - My wife and I stayed at Casa Luz for our honeymoon recently and really loved it. In general, we would stay here again. The primary thing we loved about the hotel is its unique environment. It's a beautiful boutique hotel around 10 min drive from downtown Paraty. The hotel has incredible views of the ocean and surrounding mountains and hills. There is forest surrounding the hotel with wildlife like birds, monkeys etc. The grounds of the hotel include a delicious restaurant with great cocktails and a nice spa / relaxation area. The seating for the restaurant offers panoramic views of the ocean and mountains. Great place to relax. And finally, it has a private beach with water safe for swimming and items such paddle boards for activities. It was nice to not stay in downtown Paraty - it was easy enough to get a taxi back and forth when necessary and we enjoyed staying in a calmer, more relaxed place. The staff at the hotel are very nice and accommodating. We do not speak Portugese but we communicated with the staff in person when someone who spoke English was available (about 1/2 to 3/4 the time), and otherwise via Whats App which was easy. They helped us book an awesome, day-long private boat ride with a man named Felipe. This was a highlight of our trip and we definitely recommend it to other visitors, specifically with Felipe. We booked the Azul room which has the same spectacular view and it was so relaxing to come back to our room and sit on the balcony watching and hearing the ocean. The Azul room is worth it due the great views, spacious bathroom but a few things to note - 1. it's a little small, 2. does not have a closet or area to unpack if that is needed, and 3. it has a bath tub, but no walk in option which may be difficult for some people. Another thing to note is that the hotel is situated basically on the hill side. There is a pretty steep cobblestone driveway that leads from the road to the hotel parking lot and then the hotel parking lot is located above the hotel via a set of stairs. I mention this because one time, our driver was not able to drive down the driveway because of rain and so we walked down the driveway. It's not a difficult walk, but people with limited mobility may have difficulty accessing the hotel. If you are driving your own car, be sure that you can drive up a steep hill if you are driving a manual.

Tive problemas com insetos, e apesar de ser algo comum do local por ser mata atlântica, eles me auxiliaram imediatamente com inseticida e estavam a postos para resolver qualquer que fosse a solicitação. A cidade é linda, e a recepção indica passeios, basta solicitar. Gratidão ao Ivan, por nos receber tão bem quando chegamos e também me levar até a saída quando fomos embora, são esses gestos que cativam! Excente café da manhã, e as moças extremamente cuidadosas. - ParisAjan (10/5): Incredible view, excellent restaurant - This hotel is just fantastic. We were supposed to stay 2 nights. We stayed one week. The personnel is really nice, the rooms are beautiful and the whole hotel is very well decorated, with style and taste. And cherry on the cake, they have an excellent restaurant managed by Gabriel, a Chef from São Paulo. For Yoga amateurs, there is a superb Yoga Shala with an incredible sea view.

Sentimos falta de um serviço de quarto para aproveitar melhor a sacadinha do quarto. O café da manhã também poderia ser mais diversificado, é muito bom, mas pra quem fica mais dias poderia oferecer mais variedades. A entrada do estacionamento é desafiadora.

It has an amazing sea view that you can appreciate from the room or while having lunch, breakfast and even dinner. People are very nice and the food is very tasty. The room was really tidy and well decorated, and air conditioning. The hotel also has a privative beach and a nice pool. You dont even have to go out of the hotel if you dant want to. Tivemos problema com o chuveiro no primeiro dia, problemas com a descarga no segundo e para finalizar quando fomos utilizar o ar condicionado, vazava água para dentro do nosso quarto. Foram solícitos em resolver, mas deveriam ter nos mudado de quarto já que a cada dia era um problema. A limpeza do quarto era realizada a cada 2 dias, o que também não nos agradou. A rampa de acesso é péssima e com chuva ficou extremamente perigoso. Pagamos pela vista e pela prainha que eram lindas! Funcionários atenciosos. - Clauds100 (8/5): Beautiful accommodation in stunning setting if you search peace and quiet - Casa Luz is a beautiful accommodation option in a stunning setting. The sea views are amazing when you're having breakfast. The breakfast is also very good, everything is made fresh using local ingredients. The coffee is the best so far we had in Argentina/Brasil. It has a very chilled-out Zen vibe to it and is a great place to relax if you are seeking some peace and quiet. The rooms are absolutely clean and you can see the sea from all of them. The furniture is also beautiful. It has a private little beach and you can hire a kayak, very recommendable. It is, however, a bit remote and the best way to get around is by hired car, to also see the surroundings (Trinidade, Paraty town etc). Bear in mind that this place is nothing cheap and to not totally feel excluded we chose to have dinner in town instead (also you can only pre-order your dinner up to a certain time every day in the early afternoon as the chef comes only upon demand and by lunch time there was no way of telling what and when we would like to dine that night). They were a bit pushy on selling other things (excursions, dinner, yoga lessons etc) too. To conclude, we still loved Casa Luz and would probably book it again if we ever returned to Paraty.
- claudemonet100 (10/5): Sailing Through Paradise - Wonderful location, Deliciously tropical, Offering an excellent included breakfast. The rooms are charming and each had its own theme. The red room faced the ocean and would be the optimum selection. Minutes from the charming city of Paraty where we ate at the Bananas da Terra restaurant, a 5 star meal with a variation of food one would not expect in a city 4 hours away from Rio. Casa Luz is a must visit. Charming staff especially Lilian and Natassia who make you feel very much at home. Quite surely a paradise tucked into the lush hills and jungles of the state of Rio. Close to waterfalls. Perhaps even close to heaven.
- Zakharova_Yana (10/5): I did find my paradise 😇 - Я нашла свой персональный рай 😇 инструкция: из аэропорта Сан-Паулу сворачиваешь направо, едешь до побережья до Парати, едешь прямо ещё 10км и сворачиваешь направо на маленький указатель Casa Luz. Всё, ты на месте :) отель, будто вросший в гору, с видом на прекрасную тишайшую бухту с шумом дождя (смотри видео) и океана. Самое классное - взять каяк и поплыть к соседним малым островам, по пути распугивая наблюдая за птицами и морскими черепахами, которые то и дело вылезают, чтобы сделать вдох. Я думала такое бывает только в кино или в передачах о путешествиях..но нет :) просто приезжайте в Бразилию 😉 I think I did find my paradise 😇 just after the São Paulo airport goes right to the shore, move on till Paraty, then 10km more and then turn right to the little sign “Casa Luz” and here it is! Small hotel built into the mountain where you could hear only rain and the ocean..and in the morning while kayaking to the nearby islands see ocean turtles and hundreds of birds around you. I thought such places could appear only in movies but no, they are real! You should just come to Brazil 🇧🇷 And especially I want to say thank you to people who had created that amazing place! I do remember that your grandma had run away from Russia during the revolution but the little part of you is still Russian! 😉
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hidden location with ample accomodations. Small intimate resort, good for couples. Best part was the Food. A varied, generous, and delicious breakfast. Dinner was outstanding with seemingly personal chef service and very romantic setting. The only downside is the beach sand is coarse and the water is difficult to access. But it was very private for sunbathing.
