Guest Reviews
- paul2019p (2/5): Poor old hostal - Tiny hotel, very old furniture and no nice rooms. No restaurant no bar just useless people as they were there just to give room key. Not very convenient location, we don’t advise such hotel to anybody. Not even seats in the lobby for more than 6 people. No good.
- prannecin (10/5): DO NOT BELIEVE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS: Clean hotel with an excellent view - When we were looking for a place to stay in Sierra Nevada, we were hesitant to book Hotel Nevasur because of all the negative reviews that we read online.
Since we’re not really fussy about a place to stay in and it is within our budget, we booked it anyway. The price is really cheap knowing that a buffet breakfast is included.
We were a group of three females on our early 20s who want to explore the ski resort. It was already sunset when we arrived and we were all amazed of the panoramic view outside our window. We had to do a bit of an exercise taking up the stairs to reach the hotel but it’s not that hard. Restaurants are literally a few minutes walk away.
The room is pretty decent and cozy for three to four people. We had two single beds and a bunk bed. It’s like staying in a log cabin. It’s warm with a perfect view. If you want it to be a little cold, you just need to open the small windows. Ours looks like it’s newly renovated with all the painted walls and headboard except for the private bathroom but other than that it’s all nice and clean and serves its purpose. You can hear some vehicles but the noise is tolerable most especially during nighttime. We eventually had a good night sleep. It’s not noisy based on our experience.
Surprisingly, the free breakfast buffet is soooooooo good you will literally think you just paid for the food alone and you had your stay for free. You’re just paying for a very cheap price with free breakfast buffet so please do not expect a posh 5-star hotel vibe.
Lastly, the people are very welcoming. It’s nice to wake up in the morning with such warm people. This accommodation deserves more positive feedback. They offer a quality stay most especially to young adults like us.
- markrS9913JQ (6/5): Good value basic hotel - Super friendly basic hotel, very reasonably priced and not too far from lifts (10 min walk & get the bus back unless not wearing ski boots!)
Staff were really helpful, polite & always on call..
Rooms a bit tired but clean and for a few days all you need..
Would go back, thought good value & nice pool table!
- Skinut79 (6/5): Don't Believe The Negative Reviews - OK, someone else said. This is not a luxury hotel. It is a simple 2/3 star older, fading hotel. It is positioned no more than 10 minutes from the main access gondola to the ski area. There are 119 steps down to it, so consequently 119 UP at the end of a good ski day, so still a pretty good location. The room I had was 602 up 1 floor from the reception/bar/restaurant area. Good size room, decent bathroom with good amount of hot water whenever it was needed. Good comfortable bed. NO bad smells that someone else complained of. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, though they could have done better at having the bacon and eggs kept hotter. Plenty to choose from. They also sometimes do an evenin buffet but this seems a bit hit & miss as sometimes it was on others not? Anyway for Sierra Nevada, it was a reasonably priced hotel for the 2nd week of February. The staff were always on hand and pleasant. Do watch out for the car parking charge though. There was no mention of it when I booked but they charge 18 Euro a day to park.
- Maja1938 (6/5): The standard adapted to the price - Very simply hotel in a short distance to the cabins (aprox. 500m). They do not pretend to be a luxury hotel and you will pay only for what do they offer. The basics are OK. Clean, bed, bathroom, TV and WiFi. The breakfast very basic, but the scrambled eggs they do from egg powder and not the eggs, so omit it. If you wish a simple and cheap stay in Pradollano it could be the choice, if you wish a higher standard look above the price of this hotel.
- Mand2014163 (6/5): Fine for a school group - I’m writing this solely from the perspective of taking a school group.
Having read some of the reviews I was preparing myself for a terrible stay. As my expectations were so low I was pleasantly surprised and relieved.
I feel that the hotel is very basic and could do with updating but it was ok. The buffet arrangement is perfect as there was a lot of choice so no one went hungry. I would recommend eating early though as can get food cold.
There have been comments about sewage smells. That would have been the town drainage system and the weather at the time and nothing to do with the cleanliness of the hotel. The rooms were cleaned every day.
The staff were friendly enough to us and helpful. The showers were really powerful and always hot!
The pool table kept the kids amused.
The lifts are a 10-15 minute walk away.
The highlight is without doubt the views from the hotel.
- grazj2017 (2/5): Worst experience ever paid for! - We were shown 3 rooms that all were in unacceptable conditions for what is apparently a 3-star hotel. Firstly, they tried to put us in a room that had 3 bunk beds? (we are a family of 3) The second and third room were just awful. The place is dangerous with live plug sockets hanging out of the walls, No smoke or carbon Monoxide detectors in the rooms. Bathroom covered in mould, Furniture falling apart, Bulbs missing or simply not working. Beds that are old with sunken mattresses and very uncomfortable and the general cleanliness of the hotel in an unclean condition. The food in the morning of Sunday was adequate, but come Monday & Tuesday the food was getting worse, almost like the food was the left overs from the weekend with pastries that were rock hard, bread that was stale and hard, scrambled eggs that had a weird flavour and made my son and wife sick almost instantly. Another couple that were sitting close by were also complaining to each other about the whole scenario of the food and conditions of the place.
The photos of the hotel must be years old on this website and I welcome a Hotel Inspector to visit and do an unannounced spot check on this property. Unfortunately I booked through Booking.com site where the ratings are somehow higher than Trip Advisor, Booking.com explains that the room are sound proof, this is so wrong, you can hear people walking past, going to the toilets, climbing up and down the stairs, people talking in the lounge and the lift is the worst thing you can hear, and there was no WiFi in our room.
The staff were incredibly rude, arrogant and lied to us over and over again with examples of stating the mattresses in the hotel were double memory foam beds that had been replaced this year, in fact they are old fashioned sprung mattresses of at least 10 years of age.
Please any one needing to stay in a hotel in Sierra Nevada, do not pick this one.
- melmce94 (8/5): Good stay - We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while on a ski trip. Place is kept clean, and while the hotel is small it has a lot of charm. View of the mountain is amazing too.
I was a bit confused after reading the other reviews. I have nothing but praise for the staff. They were polite, helpful and kind, even preparing us 2 lunch boxes when they found out that we had to check out before breakfast.
The breakfast itself is varied, with hot food like scrambled eggs and bacon, as well as the usual sandwich options, and sweet options like croissants etc.
Come for the view and the fact that it's a stone throw away from the ski resort, and stay for the kind and helpful staff.
- elainepG6924OU (2/5): School trip - My daughter stayed here for a week on the 17th Feb. She was very unhappy. The staff were not friendly the food was bad. She goes on school trip every year and this was the worst. It is only a 1star hotel. Very disappointed.
- aimeebelmont (2/5): How is this hotel still open? - Stayed here on a school trip for 7 nights, the rooms are very small and filthy, buffet is non existent with the same food for a week which was cold and no vegetarian option at all! The rooms smelt like poo when we arrived. We lost our key and was given no replacement. The bunk bed collapsed and there was a lot of noise. As well as that the bar didn’t open till latest not at all, the staff were very rude and ignorant toward the pupils. its not even that close to the gondolas
I lost 1/2 a stone (7lbs) in a week as I had to live stale bread rolls and brown lettuce! No joke
At least I can say that the view was nice
Do not stay here, save your money and go to a decent hotel.
- Marymurphy2344 (2/5): The smell of sh*t - This hotel is the worst hotel in history, the hallways smell of sh*t and the rooms are falling apart. The food is the most disgusting thing I’ve ever eaten and the staff are so rude, I will never come back here and I would not recommend anyone to go here unless you want your holiday ruined.
- Compass723162 (2/5): WOULD NOT RECOMMEND - My daughter has just returned from a school ski holiday having stayed 6 nights at the hotel. Hotel was awful, dirty and food was inedible. To top it all off alot of girls were sick with a tummy bug which went through the group and also another group staying at the hotel. The staff were extremely rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend this hotel at all.
- LiaBurke (2/5): Awful experience - Stayed here for 6 days and each night dinner was cold and unsatisfying. The staff were incredibly rude and multiple people in the hotel were sick during my stay. I would not recommend this hotel AT ALL
- 12mishal (2/5): 👎👎👎👎 - The only good thing about this hotel is the balcony view if you get one! The rooms were absolutely awful, food was disgusting. The only thing that kept me going in this hotel was my friends! If you can try avoid this hotel!
- peterbP7371XM (2/5): Terrible, worst hotel ever - Me and my family was looking for a cheap hotel to rest our bodies after a ski day. Our choice fell on ”Hotel” Nevasur.
At check-in the male receptionist was so rude and when we ententered the room my children was tired so they lay down in their beds and my wife took a shower.
After a few seconds she started screaming, it was small insects all over the floor, we even saw a small worm!
We took our stuff and went to the reception and said that we did not want to stay in the hotel. They refused to give our money back because of our children had lay down in their beds.
Now it turned into a nightmare, after I begged for his human feelings for our small children the receptionist said he hated children. Of course i got mad and asked him to dont say that about my children he was threatening us with calling the police.
We was literarly thrown out and had to drive 200 km back home
Dont choose this hotel!
- carlosavani1987 (2/5): Dirty, dodgy and expensive - This hotel is the precise opposite of value for money. We were supposed to stay here for five days and cancelled our last three days out of pure disgust.
To start, the hallways are smelly and worn down by use, the breakfast has the lowest quality food ever, the rooms have second-hand furniture and the bed's mattress must be 20-30 years old judging by its bend. The staff are awkward and unwelcoming - there's one guy who tends to the welcome desk, serves at the bar, dining room, etc (severe lack of staff...). He has the looks of Stanley Kubrick's Psycho...
Save yourself a bad experience and avoid this hotel. If you have a car, just stay in Granada and drive up to ski everyday.
- ragamuff1n (10/5): Great comfortable hotel - We stayed here as a family whilst on holiday skiing.
We had a quad room which contained two beds, a set of bunk beds and own bathroom. The room was spacious for our needs, comfortable and warm which is all you want. The bathroom had its own toiletries and loads of hot water. Even if a little bit of ingenuity was needed by using a plastic cup to keep the shower screen attached to the bath and stop the water running straight onto the floor.
The breakfast and evening meal were a buffet affair and absolutely delicious. It even seemed to cater for our picky eaters.
The bar, pool table and additional games finished off the evening.
The hotel is only a short walk from the main square.
- 558chloem (2/5): WORST HOTEL~BUNK BED CLAPSED - I was here with friends and I was on the bottom bunk and the top bunk fell on me. The room also smelt of smoke everyday when we came back from skiing. The hotel is no where near the resort. The food is terrible. Never again am I going here. The only good thing was the view.
