- Dekanski (1/5): Terrible - The room smelled dirty the window was painted shut the manager could not open it he tried hitting the wood with a rubber mallot to release the seal but could not release as the sash cords were painted over .so thats a fire hazard we were given a fan which only made the room smell worse and added to more hot sircirculating we kep the front door open as much as possible the room was old fashioned the carpey dirt and smelly. Nothing really

- Edward (1/5): Awful - Convenient location for a forced overnight stay due to relative in hospital but sadly let down by very poor housekeeping A forced late arrival, was given key to the first bedroom - which had not been cleaned, had to return to reception and then the second room given was the same. Third time lucky? Not fully as the toilet had not been cleaned from previous use. Disgusting. Was not told what time breakfast was served either so missed that but might not have missed much!

Der Stil des Hotels ist schön und man fühlt sich im Innern des Hotels wirklich in eine etwas andere Zeit versetzt. Schade, dass der Parkplatz, welcher zum Hotel gehört, separat bezahlt werden braucht.

Large car park on site for £5 per day (£2 refunded at bar) Dogs not allowed in bar area ( but are in an undercover terrace) which surprised us for a DF hotel. Some noise heard from neighbouring rooms. Thought parking was free on site (but not a huge desl)

- Steve C (7/5): HOTEL WAS OKAY,BUT COULD BE BETTER - Nice cosy hotel in an ideal location to explore Camarthen. Staff pleasant Food at hotel was excellent quality. Breakfast was fine,buffet style english breakfast plus variety of cereals,pastries. Room was large & comfortable but looked tired and dated. Room needed a thorough clean, very dusty in the corners and behind furniture. Towels were not replaced. Breakfast items ran out and staff were very slow to replenish them.
- Linda (5/5): Your staff need to go on a customer service course - Location is good,room was clean and spacious, the man on the bar was lovely, Breakfast was cold ,the breakfast staff have no idea what customer service is ,the second morning came down waited to give our room no the lad that came out said "what do you want"gave him our room no and I asked can you clear a table for us his reply was you will have to fine a table that's not been used as there was a coach party in found a table had our cold breakfast was only offered tea or coffee as we were getting ready for leaving very bad service if you have more people in more staff should be in all I can say is if you come down to breakfast you don't want yo witness everybody leftovers if I decided to stay again would miss the breakfast

- snehar833 (2/5): Not Good Service At All! - I am very disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel, especially given that I had previously had a positive experience here. We made our booking over the phone after being advised by a staff member that it would be cheaper. During the call, I very clearly explained that my mother is disabled and specifically asked if a family room was available on a lower floor. I was told there were none, but reassured that the hotel had a lift and that access would not be an issue. Trusting this information, we proceeded to book two rooms. However, we never received a confirmation email. I had to call twice to request this, and even then, no confirmation was ever sent. Upon arrival, we discovered that the distance from the lift to our rooms was quite long and, more importantly, required navigating two flights of stairs—something I had explicitly said would not be possible for my mother. When we raised this issue with staff, we were told that no alternative rooms were available. Despite repeatedly explaining the situation and the prior assurances we were given, no immediate solution was offered. I had travelled approximately 250 miles from Leicester for a one-day visit to attend a religious ceremony at Skanda Vale Temple, so time was already tight. Still, the situation was handled with little urgency or empathy. I asked to speak with the manager, who was contacted on his day off. Unfortunately, he was quite rude and dismissive, focusing more on defending his staff than listening to the issue or trying to resolve it. When I suggested they help us find accommodation at another hotel, he said that was “not their job” and that he would only address the matter the following day. After considerable back and forth—and significant delay—we were eventually offered a room closer to the entrance. However, even this room required navigating a flight of stairs and only had a bathtub, with no walk-in shower, which again was not suitable given my mother’s condition. The following morning only added to the disappointment. I went to reception to ask if I could get some warm milk for my 2-year-old son and was simply told no, and that I should wait for the breakfast service to open. This lack of basic customer care was surprising and frustrating. Overall, this experience was far below expectations. The lack of clear communication, failure to accommodate a disability despite prior notice, and poor customer service—especially from management—made what should have been a straightforward stay extremely stressful. Sadly, this visit has completely changed my opinion of the hotel, and I do not plan to return.

- Tony561 (4/5): Parking now charged for - Parking now charged for. Despite still advertising “free parking” on Tripadvisor, it is now charged for - and in a way that makes life difficult for guests. You have to pay at a machine out in the car park, so if its dark and wet and cold you need to stand outside waiting for the slow machine to wake up. You can only pay for 24 hours maximum at a time, so you need to make sure you remember every day to go back out to the carpark at the time you arrived to put more money in the machine. No sensible option like being able to pay at reception for the length of your stay. Tye car parking is also now open to non-customers so you’re also competing for space with shoppers and local workers. It may as well be a random pay-and-display near the hotel.

Bathroom handle was coming off, holes in the tiles at the bottom of the shower(appeared dodgy). No hooks to hang your clothes in the bathroom. Very noisy, heard loud foot steps and doors banging most of the night and start back a bit just after 5am.

- Lyndsey (10/5): - We often come stay here and we really love it, the location, the staff, the food its always a pleasurable experience. We always book the same room and I will say the hotel always accommodates our request Unfortunately this stay the hot water tap wasn't working on the bath, so no hot water to shower either, one of the sinks were blocked and the toilet didnt flush great. As it was a weekend there was no maintenance person there. We did report it to reception who did offer us another room which we declined. Dont leave this put you off though as it really is a lovely hotel and is definitely worth staying at.

The bedside lights were all broken and hanging of the walls. There was no sound proofing at all. Meaning that all we could hear was everyone else talking in the rooms around us.

Charged £20 for a dog per night and also noticed £5 to park a car overnight.. Check-in - Receptionist not friendly or engaging, advised dog couldn’t go to the breakfast room, asked if we could have breakfast in the bar … sorry dogs not allowed in the bar, we ended up having breakfast on the ‘outside terrace’ AKA the smoking area, not nice. Breakfast standard no choice of eggs of vegetarian options that I noticed. Our room was nothing like the photos on the website. Shabby furniture, old bathroom in need of a refurb and mould under the window near the bed.. We honestly couldn’t get out of there quick enough this morning .. Wouldn’t recommend it !!
