Niets is tegengevallen! Het komt goed in de buurt van een woestijn experience, maar dan veel toegankelijker voor een korte trip ( we hadden niet meer ruimte) en de duin is zeer overzichtelijk.
- Jaka (8/5): Very interesting, unique experience - Very interesting campsite, great host, very kind and helpful, really near the dunes. If you are coming in summer be prepaired for very hot night
- Helmut (10/5): -
- Evelyne (9/5): Very good welcome and taken care of ! - Very good welcome and taken care of !
- Rocio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruiz (10/5): A night in Mars! - Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere, loads of activities and true dessert experience!
- Sathyavathi (10/5): Exceptional - We were hosted by one of the warmest group of people. Tarik and his team were really friendly and very generous. They looked after us with so much care. Special thanks to Yassein, the chef. He's one of the sweetest and most caring chefs with incredible cooking skills. He elevated our stay experience by several notches. They have all raised the benchmark for hosting to a level never known before. The camp itself is really clean, cosy and comfortable. You can blindly book yourself in and have one of the best experiences of your life.
- Najet (10/5): Fantastic ! - Very welcoming , we slept very well , accessible by normal car , clear communication , we felt at ease , a heart warming experience , even with small children, they absorbed the environment , we did a Camel ride and the next day a desert tour with a guide(for the whole day ), this is facilitated by Tarik, the host with many years of experience but above all, you feel that it’s runned by their soul. Their family agency , where you first meet (and you follow them afterwards with your own car to your stay ) , is not far from the location and you can enjoy/ buy the traditional Pottery in Many Colors of green , which is their main color in this area. The night camp fire, after dinner, with a local singing group takes you back to your core , it moves your soul under the stars. Thank you very much to Tarik and his staff !
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Very happy we chose this over any getyourguide trip. The food and music in camp were great. Of course it's not the big open desert experience but the people are amazing. I'm sure Tarek can help you also seek out the deeper desert, we had a wonderful conversation and free guided tour through the craft and scholarship of tamegroute.
- Kyla (9/5): Amazing comfortable desert stay - We absolutely loved our stay. The location was absolutely fabulous, just a small few sand dunes but this was enough to give us the desert feeling while meaning we were only a short drive from the town. The biggest dune behind the camp was a lovely climb. We absolutely adored our stay here - the tents were so comfy I was hugely impressed at how nice they were and even the bathrooms were good! The food was great and the seating area for dinner was also lovely. All the staff were really friendly and kind especially the chef who took my little boy off to show him the kitchen and let him help make a crepe which made his day!
The one and only downside of our stay was the 4x4 tour we booked, unfortunately we didn’t know the price in advance and were only tons afterwards and it was much more than we expected. Tariq did reduce it which helped but unfortunately we didn’t enjoy the trip very much, the drive out there was good but we ended up being dropped off at another camp for over 2 hours with nothing really to do there, it was very hot and nowhere nice to be for the kids, the driver drove off without telling us where he was going or when he would be back. This was supposed to be a lunch stop but it just wasn’t good for the kids, was far too long and communication was really poor about what was going on. The whole experience around this was a shame as liberally everything else was so lovely!
- Jan (10/5): Very comfortable camp with friendly people - Excellent hospitality and very nice desert camp. Tarik is very friendly and together with his staff he made our stay absolutely wonderful. We also tried short camel ride and sandboarding in the dunes. Dinner was delicious. The camp is accessible with regular FWD car (SUV is better, but normal car is OK as well). There is mobile network available in the camp. Tarik also took us for short tour of the old pottery workshop which was for me one of the best things I saw in Morocco.
- Lyudmila (10/5): Exceptional - We had a magical time in the desert thanks to everyone in the staff, especially Hussein, whom we could call our friend now. The tents and the beds are comfortable and clean. The musical night was special. We got to ride camels and sandboard. The night under the stars we will remember for a long time.
Ask if they could assist you with a guided tour to Amezrou, Tissergate and Tammegrout, which adds to the magic. Thank you!
- Jozef (10/5): Very friendly and welcoming staff. Very good food and interesting cultural performance. -
- Jaka (10/5): Exceptional - Cute small desert camp
- Julia (10/5): Perfect stay in lovely camp:) - That was perfect stay! Host was so nice and hospitable- good sense of humour, kindness, easy contact. I really recommend Tarik and his camp. You can go sandboarding for free and order so tasty and big dinner for good price. At evening we could listen to berber music and spend time next to fire. Tents were clean and there were warm blankets for cold nights.
- Boris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dawud (10/5): Amazing people, amazing experience - Absolutely amazing place!!! Loved every single one of the staff especially Ali, he is amazing. The camp staff really make you feel at home, we spent a few nights here and they really put a lot of effort into making sure we had an amazing stay. They even found out it was my birthday and prepared a surprise cake!
- Emmie (9/5): Superb - Great staff Ali went over and above all he needed to do and location good, wonderful unique experience. Somewhere clean to wash hands!
- Mohammed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - Ali is rocking this place! Have rarely seen such a devoted an guest-oriented host anywhere in the world. Food and accommodation is great, Ali is the added value 😉
- Miroslav (10/5): Exceptional - Super friendly staff. Special desert man Ali ;-)
We enjoyd camel riding, sand-boarding, super music evening...
It was unforgetable..
- Jean-bernard (10/5): Exceptional - Nice people, very kind, nice place and nice tents !
- Niki (10/5): Exceptional - Staying here was a last minute decision for me and boy did I congratulate myself for it. First off, I was the only guest at the time (female solo traveller) and never did I have any safety worries at any point. The dinner was probably the best tajin I had in Morocco, so flavourful. Lovely kitties everywhere, that was a big bonus. Music circle after dinner around a bonfire which I even participated in with one of their own instruments that they handed to me. Everyone was accepting and embracing. And Ali was an incredible and kind host and a wonderful soul to just talk about life and culture with. They really have nailed the authenticity game here. It is a family run camp and you get immersed in the desert life. You learn a lot from these guys about their culture, way of life, so be curious and take advantage of their openness. Don't go here expecting a 5 star resort and then be disappointed for absolutely no reason - it is a desert camp and this is honestly the best most comfortable or "luxurious" version there can be while still staying authentic. If you have limited time and can't afford to dedicate 2 days to transit to and from Erg Chigaga (one of the two big desert areas/dunes), this absolutely is the place to be.
- Frank (10/5): Unforgettable - Close to the sand dunes. Peaceful and quite place.
- Tomasz (10/5): Just amazing - The host and location! Everything was perfect
- Nikki (10/5): 11year old daughter said it was best day/night of her life ❤️ - It was such an incredible location. The tents were beautifully decorated and the night sky was sublime!
Ali was a perfect host.. thank you x Nothing
- Hubert (10/5): Exceptional - The people were so friendly! We had a great stay, Thank you Ali:)
- Leah (10/5): Best time of our lives. A must visit! - Our trip to Tinfou Desert Camp was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived at the green pottery shop, we were welcomed by the incredible Owner who welcomed us with vegetarian couscous’s in his father’s home!
Then when we finally arrived at the camp Ali, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was unforgettable. The hospitality we received was warm and genuine. He was amazing.
The culinary delights were a highlight, especially the chef's amazing talent. To our surprise, he even crafted a delicious vegan birthday cake, which was a lovely personal touch.
One of the most enchanting experiences was our private dinner under the stars. Surrounded by the vast desert and twinkling constellations, it truly felt like a dream come true. The Berber music band added to the ambiance, making the evening feel even more special.
We had a fantastic private tour of the Sahara, where the beauty of the dunes left us in awe. The tents were luxurious and comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of adventure. Watching the sunsets and sunrises over the desert landscape was breathtaking—moments we’ll cherish forever.
We also enjoyed sandboarding on the Tinfou dunes after we watched the sunrise which was thrilling and a great way to embrace the natural beauty of the area.
We genuinely felt humbled by the entire experience. It was one of the best times of our lives, and we cannot wait to return, this time bringing more family along. Highly recommend Tinfou Desert Camp for anyone looking to create lasting memories in a stunning setting! Nothing!!!!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susana (9/5): Good experience for a taste of the desert - Before going to the camp we had a very pleasant tour of the kashba and pottery workshop.
The tents were large and comfortable. The beds were excellent. Functional bathroom with shower.
Very tasty dinner. Friendly host and traditional music after dinner.
Sunset camel ride - 15€/person for about 30 minutes.
We went to see the sunrise and the host brought a sand board which we could do as many times as we wanted for free. The dinner, although very tasty, was too expensive.
Breakfast was very simple.
As a suggestion, I think they could add some decorative details to the outside of the tents and communal areas to make the camp more attractive.
- Zoltan (7/5): A glimpse of desert experience 10 minutes off the main road - You get a glimpse of desert experience 10 minutes off the main road. Feels surreal but actually not that far from what you get in the ‘real camps’ that need long 4x4 drives to get to. Activites, excursions are also on offer that may complement it even further (we only stayed overnight). Tents weren’t exactly looked after although we stayed in the ‘luxury’ version and breakfast was really dissapointing.
- Hrvoje (9/5): Beautiful dunes, great hosts, definitely worth a visit - The camp is located within an area of beautiful sand dunes. We loved the peace and quiet surroundings. Just a two sand dunes away and we couldn't hear our boys. Sounds are somehow softened, dispersed. Ah, and the stars 🤩 No light pollution, and no clouds makes a great night sky. The hosts, especially Ali, have taken good care of us and made us feel welcome. Thank you! The camp is located in a sandy area not too far away from the main road, and the town Zagora is also close. I guess that is the reason why there were other people exploring the dunes other than the camp guests. At afternoon hours it can even get crowded.
We didn't mind that, it was simply something unexpected.
- Irene (8/5): Very good - We were upgraded to a family room with private bathroom which was awesome. the tent is huge and super comfortable. The location is great and reachable by normal car if you follow the indications given. so close to the road and yet it indeed feels like you are in the middle of the desert.
we enjoyed the breakfast, the dinner, the camel ride at sunset and the sand boards (do it early morning or late evening!)
the staff was super friendly and kind. a very good value for money! Nothing we did not like about it if it wasn’t for the wait in order to check in. we spent quite some time waiting in the travel agency-shop “for the sun to cool down” as it was apparently too hot to check in. We would have preferred to know about it beforehand and plan some visit around until 18.00 when we were finally allowed to proceed instead of running after 2 kids in a place full of pottery..
Another minus was the lack of hot water when we had our shower. cold water was though much appreciated after the sand boarding! :)
- Emre_kayacik (10/5): Exceptional - Tarik & Staff was helpful. Tent was clean and next to sand dunes you can watch sunrise & sunset on the top of dunes with 5 min walk pr climb :)
- Micandav (10/5): great!! - I can recommend it if you dont want to pay extra 90 euros for a transportation as its normal in other camps. This camp is a 10 minute ride from the road, easy accessible by a car. Its a friendly camp, they will welcome you with the mint tea and afterwards you can try a free sandboarding on the dune or just chill around. You can also choose at what time you want to have a breakfast.
- Felicity (8/5): Very good -
- Janine (9/5): Amazing staff and great stay - Very friendly staff who helped with all our requests and even walked us to the bus early in the morning! Beautiful location in the small dune, though the desert around is mainly stone. The tent was super spacious and comfortable.
- Brendan (9/5): Great hosts and facilities in a must experience region of Morroco. - My partner and I were impressed with the location and level of service provided. Ali and his colleagues were super hosts with a big heart, doing everything possible to make sure that guests felt comfortable and enjoyed the desert experience. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the location of the camp amongst the dunes is incredible, the silence at night allows for a great night's sleep. Tarik was able to organise and personalise a short camel trip for us; I would recommend going early morning or late afternoon. I would highly recommend the camp, and I hope to be back at some point to what a meteorite shower. Thanks lads!
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my son loved every aspect of our stay. The personell was great, helpful and full of iconic hospitality. The cuisine was delicious, the tent was luxorious. If we will come back to Maroc, be definetelly come back to Tinfou DesertCamp there was nothing we can think about which could be better
- Pavel (10/5): Great dessert experience in Tinfou dunes - small but accessible - Tinfou dunes are a very small area and this place is right in the center of it, making most of the environment. The equipment is perfect, well located and provides right desert experience. Our host was fabulous, supportive and despite the fact that I was alone with the family in the whole camp, they treated us with sun set tea, dinner and a show with fire and drums in the evening.
- Stanislav (10/5): Exceptional - Ali is the best! Nothing, everythings great.
- Teresa (10/5): Wonderfull Experience - Wonderfull Experience
We had a tent with a private bathroom and shower in the desert !!!!
Great outside and inside common areas.
Sunset and Sunrise are amazing as it is the stardust!!!
If you can take some time to experience a camel riding in the desert and to visit Tamegroute handmade pottery. Wonderfull Experience !!!
- Karolína (10/5): Exceptional - This was one of the best experiences in Morocco. Tarik and Ali are the nicest people and will make you feel like at home. I will recommend this experience to everyone.
- Jana (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely the best experience we could imagine! Great location, amazing staff and delicious food. An unforgettable stay! Tents were clean, well equipped and tastefully furnished. Dunes are smaller (do not expect infinite views) but quite sufficient and it is just few minutes from Zagora. You do not need 4x4 to get there. Camp is located in the middle of the dunes and the views are breathtaking! The owner simply does his work with heart. And our guide Ali was the best!
- Flavio (10/5): Best place for berber desert experience - The whole experience was amazing. Tarik, Ali and the rest of the team were so gentle and helpful. Food was great, and the welcome.music around the fire was unforgettable. If you want to experience the Sahara desert with safety and comfort, that's the perfect place. Nothing bad, all good. Do not expect luxury, it is a desert camp.
- Marta (10/5): Excellent place to experience the desert! - Incredible place with amazing people running the property. Unforgettable experience of the desert!
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erica (10/5): Exceptional - We were three women and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful, the dinner and the music they play in the evening is great and fun and the facilities are very nice. Tarek and Ali are super nice and friendly and they did everything to make our stay exceptional and unforgettable. Nothing
- Yasin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - The whole experience was great. The welcoming, the dinner, the music around the fire, the sunset, sunboard... Amazing and highly recommended
- Luana (10/5): Lovely desert camp with great hosts! - The lovely desert camp is easily reachable without 4WD. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, the food was great and the campfire in the evening was a geeat experience!
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good - the tents were beautifully decorated inside and the hosts were absolutely lovely, made us feel very at home and welcome in Morocco. very kind hearted people.
although the tents are not located IN the Sahara desert, we found that our desire to be in the desert was more than satisfied by the location - especially as we were driving ourselves from Marrakesh and only had a week to fit everything in - it offered us the perfect opportunity to do just that!
also, we found it very easy to find the compound; we simply followed the instructions, and met a lovely man in the nearby town we drove in front of us all the way to the tents! the tent was very loud at night because it was very windy, so it did make it a little hard to sleep but I guess that is tent life!!!
- Viviene (10/5): amazing experience in the desert. we arrived early and were immediately welcomed by tarik who offered us lunch and a vis - everything nothing
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - We really enjoyed our stay. Tarik and his staff are genuine and welcoming. Dinner was nice and we enjoyed the campfire and music afterwards. Our tent was very comfortable and spacious. We are traveling with our two small children so we weren't up for the longer treks to the dunes further away... having Tinfou Camp as a closer option was so great for us! Nothing negative to say.
- Hayakawa (10/5): Exceptional - A wonderful camp. It was such a great experience with amazing staff.
I particularly enjoyed the traditional meal in the Bedouin tent, followed by a Berber campfire. A real cultural delight.
Electrics in the tent and running water for field showers were great as well.
- Adrian (10/5): relaxing and beautiful adventure in the Berber camp - beautiful stay, comfortable, cosy and secure. amazing hosts and very hospitable. a bit difficult to get to by car, had to stop in Tamegroute and pick one of the hosts up. This process wasn’t very clear and we took the risk having a stranger (who turned out to be an amazing person) in the car.
- Unnikrish (9/5): Comfortable stay for families - The service was excellent. They even accomodated the needs of toddler well. The sand dunes are small and there are only a few of them. You will be disappointed if you are expecting a sea of sand.
- Arian (10/5): IT IS A MUST - Everythig. One of the best experinces of our life. Thank you!
