- Seshinkan (7/5): ご飯とスタッフの方の対応の良さで、まずまずな宿泊 - 部屋のテレビが映らなかったのですが、イヤな顔ひとつせず、部屋を変えていただけました。 朝ご飯は相変わらず美味しく、桜の花と朝の川面も綺麗で格段に美味しく感じました。 また利用させて頂いてます。 何度か宿泊していますが、今回も残念な事に枕とクッションが臭くて、結構気になります。リネンウォーターなど使用されると良いと思います。

- megumi (8/5): - 静か。リバービューのお部屋をリクエストしたら対応してくれた。部屋内も清潔で良かった。化粧用の鏡も別に置いてあり助かりました。 コンビニや食事場所が近くにない。施設内に中華はあるが高級すぎて手が出ない。気軽に食事できる場所があれば良かった。部屋内はベッドとサイドテーブルの間に、束になった配線がむき出しになっていた。老舗ホテルのようで多少の痛み具合は許容範囲内ですが、お得や特別感はそれほど感じなかった。

- Sofia (10/5): Beautiful hotel with a view - Beautiful riverside view. While the hotel is a bit older, the room has been updated and is both clean and comfortable. It also has plenty of space! A short walk over the nearby bridge lets you have fun in restaurants, shopping areas, and the station. Breakfast was delicious and definitely worth the price. Checking in was a bit strange as I was told to go to the front desk and, after some confusion, was then directed to check in at a computer.

- aya (10/5): 凄い楽しかった！最高です。 - 部屋が広く、綺麗。ベッドもめちゃくちゃ広いし、枕も気持ちよかったです。3人で泊まった時に、1つ簡易ベットも作ってくださり、それもよかったです。景色も窓がかなり広いので朝も夜も見晴らしよくて最高です。アクセスよく、新潟の中心地に徒歩圏内なので、楽しめました。朝も信濃川沿い、万代橋を歩き、天気の良さも相まって幸せ気分いっぱいでした。 次回、シアターの使い方を教わって見てみたいです。あと朝ごはんや、バーなど館内施設を味わいたいので、また宿泊します。次は川側の同じクォリティの部屋があったらそこに宿泊します。 良くない点ではなく、コインランドリーは施設内にあるのか近くにコインランドリーがあるのかを知りたかったです。 もし、希望が通るなら、お風呂が、洗い場で洗えるところだとなお、最高です。シャワーが浴槽外にあるし、トイレを別にする。 今回は、不便を感じなかったので、もし、希望が通るならみたいな感じです。

- Tomomi (6/5): 寝るための滞在。 - ・エアコンが調子悪そうな音がしてうるさかった。 ・ベッドの真ん中辺りが凹んでいた ・古くからあるホテルで、ビジネスホテルやカジュアルホテルなく、立派なフロントがあるので、せめてにこやかに挨拶してくれるフロントスタッフいれば…と残念だった。 (到着時、挨拶なし、チェックインマシンの案内なし、館内の説明や地図的な物がなくエレベーターの位置も探した。 その後、フロント内で若い外国人スタッフの指導？が行われたいたけど、あまり良い雰囲気ではなかった)

- Shelleycatherine (8/5): Large and rather impersonal hotel but offers good value for short stays - This is a formal business hotel often used for weddings and other big events, therefore it has a rather standard and stiff style. However, the location is convenient and set next to the river for nice views especially at night. The quality of the rooms can vary a lot: I stayed one night in a "budget" room and found the furnishings old and drab, but on another night I stayed in a more expensive room and everything was refreshingly new and appealing. Staff were helpful, though not particularly friendly.

- djinnooi (8/5): Clean, modern room in hotel by the river - We enjoyed our stay at the Niigata Grand. The room housed the three of us and our luggage well, without feeling too cramped, especially with a closet in which we could keep some bags out of the way. The bathroom was big enough, though not as spacious as some of the others we’ve encountered on this trip to Japan. However, we appreciated that it had some hooks and small towel rails, as well as a clothesline you could extend from the wall. Also, the mirror did not fog up after a shower, though my husband found the lighting could have been better for shaving. The beds were comfortable and I very much liked that we were provided with more than one pillow each. I ended up sleeping on what turned out to be a Tempur memory foam pillow, which worked quite well for me. There are night lamps for the two main beds, allowing for light levels to be adjusted as required for earlier sleepers. An unusual feature of the room these days, but one that I liked, was that we didn’t need to insert a room access card into a slot to activate the lights and air conditioner. The room we were in seemed to have undergone a refurbishment relatively recently, with modern furnishings and fixtures and a more minimalist style. It didn’t match with the foyer and reception areas, which presented more ostentatiously more likely reflecting the era in which the hotel was first built. Check in, as seems to be more common with the business-style hotels we’ve been encountering on this trip, was via a machine that dispensed our room access cards. There is the option to choose from a range of languages, so I guess it makes it easier in a way, if rather impersonal. We could park our rental car in the hotel’s garage in the basement, though parking is unreserved. The cost for this was 600 yen, which we paid when checking in. As we didn’t know where to find the garage at first, we parked in one of four parking spots at the front entrance of the hotel while we checked in. There is a lift from the garage to the lobby area, but a separate lift goes from the lobby level to the guest rooms. The hotel itself is located by the river, about a 20 min walk away from the train station. There is are buses that stop nearby, but more that stop on the other side of the river, though it is an easy stroll, with beautiful views over the bridge to get to the hotel that way, especially at night, with the lights on the water.

- Y (10/5): とても良いホテルです。 - 友人5人で3部屋を予約しましたが、希望どおり隣同士にしていただき助かりました。 ツイン2部屋とセミダブル1部屋を利用しましたが、どの部屋も広く清潔で快適。 料金はビジネスホテル並みに手頃なのに、この広さと設備はとてもコスパが良いと感じました。 立地は信濃川沿いで環境も良く、繁華街の万代や古町へもアクセス抜群です。 今回は川が見えるお部屋ではありませんでしたが、それでも十分満足できました。 またぜひ利用したいと思います。 全体的には快適に過ごせましたが、いくつか気になる点もありました。 建物自体がやや古めで、駐車場が少し狭いのが不便。

- David (7/5): Aimed at businessmen - Convenient to have a carpark underneath. A little away from the station and the main streets. We were a little disappointed with the first room we had (standard) which was incredibly small and smelled a bit of smoke. However the staff were incredibly helpful in organising a bigger room, and we would recommend westerners using this hotel opt for the bigger room. Hotel seems largely aimed at conferences and business clients. Smells of smoke in a lot of common areas eg lift lobby. No ramp to get your suitcases from reception to the lifts.

- Brian (10/5): An EXCELLENT value at a wonderful hotel - The Niigata Grand is an older but still beautiful hotel. The rooms were very comfortable and VERY reasonably priced. The breakfast was excellent - whether the Japanese or Western version. The location is also great. Any easy walk across the Bandai Bridge to shopping and restaurants and a quick cab ride to the Shinkansen station. One of the staff was a native English speakers and was extremely helpful. Bottom line an excellent value and a wonderful stay. Nothing.

I booked semi-bouble and the was worried, but the room is so well organised that you have place for everything you need. The bathroom was also very clean and convenient. There is an underground parking, we payed 600¥ for a day, which in my opinion is a very good price. I really liked everything in this hotel.
