• Peter (8/5): Just what I expected. - It is pub accommodation. One of the better shared bathroom pubs. Good bed, nice towels and soap. Quiet area.

• Taylah (5/5): Decent - Location, bed was comfy and staff were friendly. Wasn’t very clean, had dry noodles on the floor from previous guests and hadn’t been dusted/wiped down for a what it seems like a long time.

• Patrica (9/5): Great and would stay again. - It wasn't too hard to find and in a great location. Easy walk to shops and banks. Jessie checked us in and took us to our room. He was very friendly and helpful. We met up with family and had dinner at the hotel. Food was good and staff polite and friendly. The only thing I found that the bed was a bit hard for me.

• Jennifer (8/5): For attending a course at John Hunter Hospital and not spending a fortune, it was good. - The hotel was clean and the bathroom was clean. It was a shared bathroom, and while the amenities were possibly a little dated, they worked, were clean, not busy. It was a great location in terms of being able to access John Hunter Hospital. The food at the hotel was fairly priced and solid pub food - nice - nothing fancy.Worked for me - I was hungry! It would have been good to have off street parking, as the bulk of the area is timed parking, making things a bit tricky when carrying stuff inside. For me personally, only staying one night, it wasn;t really a major issue, but it could become a problem if you were there for longer.

• Stephanie (7/5): Cute pub stay - Great location, nice pub, cute rooms, comfy bed, quiet. Clean enough. Air conditioning!! Very old bathrooms and security isn’t great. Open access from the pub and all unoccupied rooms are left open (to air them, I believe) but this also means someone could easily hide in there. Call me paranoid but that’s life for a solo female traveller.

• Jenny (8/5): - Close to John Hunter and great quiet location. No parking at site but plenty in next block, 1-2 min walk. Staff very friendly and food great. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Basic but it's a pub room and you're paying pub prices. Great value for money
• Neil C (9/5): Excellent staff and a very affordable option - The staff were very helpful and friendly and were a wealth of local knowledge that made my stay so much better. The price was excellent considering I just needed somewhere to sleep and to freshen up. Given the building's age and heritage it was a little rough around the edges but given the price of the room this was not an issue at all.

• Tania (8/5): Ok - Staff were friendly and it was cheap The bed was very uncomfortable and bathroom old and basic. It wouldn’t take much to make the room a little more comfortable.

• Cindy (3/5): Great location, although..... - Some of the staff were great, others not so much. Awesome having the free shuttle service to football game. Really dusty, unplugged bar fridge sitting out from the wall, on carpet. Dusty table lamp not working. Lots of hair on sheets Air con vents disgusting. Covered in black thick mould. Air extraction vents in shared bathroom also clogged with mouldy dust. Apart from that, the bathroom is quite clean and funky art deco era. This could be an awesome place to stay! Management really need to take a look upstairs at these issues. This is why the score is quite low. I'm also an owner of a booking.com property, and the cleaning standards are clearly very low here.

• Ken (1/5): whould'nt stay again - location is alright but hard to find a parking spot near by no bar fridge web site said they have 1 staff said no, hard to find a park near by, live music every fri and sat night was very very loud until late, was cheap and as they say you get what u pay for.

• Jez (8/5): - Overall it was fine but there are no staff overnight and their fire alarm went off at 5am. There was no one to deactivate it so it went for a full 20 minutes before it switched off automatically.

• Alyssa (4/5): It was a lovely little room but could do with a mini fridge coming into summer months some rooms have them and some don’ - I liked that it’s close to shops and clean room could do with a small mini fridge and possibly a microwave I didn’t like that there was blood all over both the female showers and wasn’t cleansed properly
