Guest Reviews
- john williams (10/5): -
- Stacey (5/5): It provide a place for us to sleep, so it served its purpose - Was close to wedding venue Every time we would leave and come back we had to get a new key
- Sasha Lynnae (8/5): - The service but it could have been a lot better The room could have been a lot bigger
- Madison (6/5): -
- Rhea (8/5): -
- Michael (6/5): Didn't meet basic standards. - Was close to KCMO and St. Joseph MO. The waffles were not offered Sunday To Tuesday because the desk man didn't know know how to set it up. The Night clerk Didn't give us a Queen room with 2 beds. She gave us a King for 4 large Adults. Then switched it out two Double beds not Queens, we had prepaid for. The staff has a hard time communicating as they are South Asian. But this is what we have come to expect from Super 8s.
- Rhea (10/5): - Quiet Location not much close by but sometimes that's good.
- N5067VUrachaelh (8/5): Decent - only hotel in Smithville. decent price. decent room. good parking, not too busy. breakfast was bare minimum but ok for kids and had decent coffee. i don't like how the room key stops working after 9am when checkout is at 11am. good beds and towels. ive stayed here several times because of the location.
- 685tabathah (2/5): Dont do it - Was not enjoyable. No lock on main door to room. Big hole in the bathroom door. Ac didn't work, extremely hot
Breakfast was a joke. 2 yogurts 1 milk, 4 grab and go cereals.
- Jennifer (7/5): -
- Jim (10/5): VERY EXTREMELY SATISFIED!!!! - Staff was a 20 on a 1-10 scale. Thank you Nothing needs to be done
- Connie (7/5): Close to family so convenient without leaving town. - Convenience Light bulbs burnt out and language difference made it hard for me to get fixed.
- Alysson (9/5): -
- Yoder (8/5): - The room was clean and comfy staff was friendly The hallways were kinda dirty and you could smell 420 smoke
- Williams (8/5): -
- Eugene (6/5): - Dirty carpets with burn holes in them
- Stacey (4/5): - Bed was extremely hard... shower didn't drain... no coffee... generally shabby
- Boyt (3/5): -
- Williams (8/5): - Almost everything
- Williams (7/5): - Almost everything Did not clean room while was out no fresh towel if staying conceutive days
- Linda Louise (2/5): - The front desk guy was nice. This use to be a very good motel but it has bec9me very run down. Not clean. Awful smell. No coffee in the room and lobby coffee was broken. Microwave was filthy and caked in food. Wall mounted mirror was laying on the floor. Breakfast not available. Lights andTV were not working properly amd the wall lamp in the room was rusting. We stay here usually 1-2 times a year...never again.
- 692kerstenm (2/5): HORRIBLE - The worse room that I ever experienced. I only used it to freshen up and change clothes. I wouldn't sleep there , the rooms and hotel are old ,dingy ,and it smells very bad. They say no pets ,but there was dog hair all over the room, and the room was filthy. Stay at your own risk.
- Jo (2/5): - This is the dirtiest motel we’ve ever stayed at. We would have gone somewhere else but we reserved it and we were very tired after traveling for12 hours. The staff was nice but even the dirty matted carpet was too dirty to walk on barefoot! The toilet had pee on it! We did let them know as we left the next day.
- Andrew (10/5): - Simple room. Clean. Calm area
- marissadN180JK (10/5): Great experience - Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The rooms we had were all nice and clean. The breakfast was great. Very pleased with our stay at Super 8.
- Larry (4/5): - For starters, there were weeds all around the the building! It looked very unkept, almost looked vacant! Then we go in and find out that the room that I ordered several months ago was not available, a room with one bed! So what do my wife and I get a room with two beds, that aren’t big enough for two people on one bed! Then I try to go and get some Ice, and the machine is out of order not working. Then went to breakfast, what a joke! Even being called a continental breakfast was a far stretch! Not even toast was available! Coffee and juice were the only drinks, and if you don’t drink coffee which I don’t you’re out of luck! Can’t believe I had to pay what I did for this joke of a Motel! The only thing that did work was the Internet!
- Claybaugh (4/5): Disappointed in Whydam and super 8.. - Didn't see one, at all in lobby Outside end door wasn't lockable. Room door no door hasp. Could have been a lot cleaner in and out. Mattress was comfortable.
- tamla quick (5/5): - It did have a refrigerator, microwave Not real clean and our room flooded from the storms that they had in town and they did not have enough room to move all of us to another place so two of us had to stay in the flooded room.i feel that I should be reimbursed something.
- Greg (3/5): - We didn't if we could have found another hotel we would have. They also said we could not get our money back because we booked through a 3rd party. Won't do that again. We checked in one room was dirty and bathroom not cleaned at all. They gave us another room and it was the same thing. The poor desk manager had to come scrub down that bathroom for us.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pretty Good for One Night - I liked that the sink was outside the toilet room. It made the flow of getting ready for bed easier. It was very clean and some of the fixtures looked new. My room had flooring instead of carpet and I forgot my slippers but the flooring seemed clean. My husband said the toilet was small.
- Neil (2/5): - Smelled of chemicals air conditioner was so noisy and bed frame was off kilter. Won’t be back
- Sydney (6/5): - The staff was friendly. My fridge did not work and the ac was loud. Smelled kind of funky.
- Kandis (2/5): - I was supposed to have a non smoking room, it was not. The chairs had stains the bed side table had something spilt on it the floors were sticky
- Samantha (10/5): Great place to stay!! - Awesome place to stay! Very friendly staff! Have stayed there many times and will continue to do so!
- Tamera (6/5): - This location had a comfortable bed and a hot shower. It does appear that good maintenance and upkeep isn’t high on their agenda.
- Erik (10/5): - Good
- Kirstin (2/5): - The staff at this location were friendly and met expectations. However, the condition of the hotel itself was disappointing. The property is noticeably outdated and in need of significant renovation. The room I was assigned had a strong, unpleasant odor upon entry. The bathroom ceiling tiles were porous, moldy, and musty, and the toilet appeared stained. The bathtub didn’t drain properly, the water pressure was very low, and it took an unusually long time to heat up.
While the beds were as expected, all the fabrics in the room carried a musty, unpleasant smell. The floors and walls appeared unclean, with visible stains and spots from spilled food or liquids. The bathroom had noticeable dust and hair along the edges of the floor and tub, which suggested poor attention to detail in housekeeping.
Overall, the cleanliness was well below acceptable standards. I will not be returning to this location and do not recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made to the cleanliness and overall upkeep.
- John (8/5): - close to resturants and easy parking
- Bryan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rhonda (1/5): Don't stay here 😔 - Good location. Reasonable price Ended up with multiple bug bites. Bed bugs? 😪
Don't stay here.
- Alfredo (9/5): Superb -
- chris (4/5): - No coffee pot in room, half of the
eletric outlets don't work.
Sheets were stained
- melody (4/5): - Each time we’ve stayed at this hotel there has been issues. Anywhere from no hit water
- Hazel (10/5): - It was nice for the price. Clean, quite and friendly staff. The electricity went out only at the Hotel so it got a little hot. Didn't get much sleep!
- Donna (8/5): - Clean & comfortable. Could use an upgrade or two, like new ceiling tiles to replace the stained ones, & USB charging ports, but overall adequate. Staff very attentive and friendly!
- Philip (8/5): - Good price. No problems.
- Myrna (5/5): Just the Basics - The staff was very friendly.
- Dave (5/5): Passable -
- Kevin (2/5): Don’t stay here - Not much. Staff seemed nice at first. Unexpected trumped up charges at checkout. Poor bathroom. No outlets. No WiFi password. TV had a burned out backlight. Making it hard to watch TV or do anything
- Austin (2/5): - No breakfast
- Roger (1/5): Rm 117 should be fumigated. Unfortunately I woke up to bite marks. - Location to job site Waking up in the morning to bite marks.
- Tamika (8/5): - I was able to check in on line which made my check In at the hotel a lot faster. Had to check out really early and was able to just leave the keys in the room
- Justin (10/5): - It was good
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jack (8/5): - Great for what you need in Smithville. Room did have strong smell of smoke but other than that was clean and staff were very friendly.
- chad (10/5): - Fun
- Hannah (2/5): - I hate to give this property a bad rating, because I know it’s hard to run a business. However, the two different rooms that I was given both smelled so strongly of cigarettes (in 1 room) and something I can’t describe plus probably chemicals to try to cover it up (in the 2nd room). It made my stomach turn and my lungs burn. We could NOT stay the night, and now I have to be even more inconvenienced to file a claim to get my money back for TWO nights where we didn’t stay.
- Alfredo (8/5): Very good -
- scottmN4569EM (10/5): Nice quiet and convenient place to go with a great staff - This is a very quiet, very convenient place to stay, it was close by to pretty much everything needed, very friendly and helpful staff. My girlfriend and I book here frequently for a get away and will continue to do so and would definitely recommend to anyone.
- Shelby (6/5): Overall it was ok - Location is good Room was not clean
- Shelby (6/5): Pleasant -
- Shelby (6/5): It was good for being an unexpected stay for as late as it was - Good location Currently still trying to get the money back for being over priced and the room was not as clean as it could be.
- Dalton (10/5): - Staff is always friendly and willing to assist at anytime
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not a 3.5 - It was a very interesting room. The slide lock on the door was missing the chain and broken. It smells awful and there was a hole in the bathroom door. However, upon entry, customer service was very friendly and got us checked in promptly.
- Melody (6/5): - The hot water in bathroom sink isn’t hot!
The bathtub kept clogging up ended up standing in dirty water. Tv was broken not sitting straight.
- AILIEN (10/5): - Nice
- Lee (2/5): - Was very dated and not clean if not for the proximity of where i was going would have stayed closer to the airport.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible...will never stay at a super 8 ever again - My husband had checked in for 2 adults and one queen bed. As you can see in the photo it was either a single or double bed and we had a VERY uncomfortable night's sleep. We had driven 8 miles and we were both exhausted.
The main lock on the door was totally broken
The blonde lady didnt even green me when i walked in. It was extremely rude and needs training on customer service skills.
The entire hotel room was very dirty especially the bathroom. It was digusting and filthy. I found a pubic hair, mold, crusty buildup around the shower head. I forgot to take a photo but there were two plastic document puches on the door; one was for the fire emergency exit. BOTH pouches contained dead roaches.
- Jesse (8/5): - Served my needs for a simple trip
- Cody (10/5): - Staff was extremely nice.
- Annette (6/5): - In all ok but I forgot a blanket that is important to me but they NEVER answer the phone to make arrangements to pick it up!!!!
- toddwalden44 (6/5): It's ok - For the average working guy this motel is all right. The paint job on last rentavation was a little rough. The complimentary breakfast could use a little upgrade. The exterior landscaping could use a little more of a welcoming type of appearance pulling up. The staff was very helpful nice and professional. The rooms were clean and I didn't have any problems sleeping. I was a little worried about my car at night but there was plenty of security systems installed. Overall it's okay for the working Man
- Cody (10/5): - Good price and staff is very nice.
- Dawn (6/5): - Conveniently located for Smithville and Kansas City but room was in poor state of repair, curtain hanging off the rail, shower curtain rail hanging off the wall and shower head. Breakfast was very limited, no toast or bagels, only breakfast bars, cereals and yogurts. Some guests were a little scary too. Receptionist was friendly and helpful but wasn't the best stay
- Jaclyn (10/5): - Quiet neighborhood and friendly staff.
- Angelito (6/5): - Theres just one choice of breakfast just a waffle
- Sheryl Kay (8/5): - My room was really clean and quiet. I definitely felt safe. And it's on a major road so I'm it's ready to get anywhere.
- Timothy (6/5): - Tub drains slow, very dated
- V (1/5): Very Disappointing - Nothing wasn't able to stay Arrived and room was dirty and not cleaned. Hotel was sold out so unable to stay.
- Leslie (4/5): - Breakfast hardly counts as it's just cereal and waffles. Everything was very basic-- only two tiny pillows for the bed and nothing I would consider the proper size for a bath towel. It's cheap and good enough, though, if you don't care about anything else!
- TIM (10/5): - Just an overall good place.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Would not recommend - This was the worst hotel experience i had in the past 20 years. You get what you paid for, but i have had comparably priced hotels that are far better, but the first room i went to seemed like it had a dead bedbug under the bed, so they moved us to the second floor which had no elevator. The next room we got had no bed bugs, but the bed sheets felt damp, the carpet was burned, and the bathroom walls were moldy. We also had a cricket for a neighbor and the hotel didn't offer coffee past breakfast hours.
- Kimberley (6/5): - The room was a bit dated with tattered blinds and unkept sheets. The service however was great and the location was convenient for a stop over.
- Bret (2/5): - Guy smoking pot outside the room
Noisy TV in the next room all night
- Peterson Roudley (8/5): - It's was very good
- erinv817 (2/5): Stay Away!! - After driving for 6 hours we finally arrived at the hotel. We got all checked in (front desk lady was very nice) and got the keys, parked and went and checked out the room. We walked in to find an astonishing site. The room was a complete mess. Nothing was made, trash and towels everywhere. We went back to the front desk and all we got was sorry we thought it was clean and we are sold out so I will have to refund your money. Mind you all the hotels in the area were sold out and we were in town for a funeral. As someone who used to work in a hotel environment I find it appalling that you wouldn't go check your rooms to make sure they are good to sell especially on a night that you are sold out.
- Cynthia (9/5): Superb -
- Chad (10/5): - Our room was freshly renovated and clean as could be. We were very satisfied with our stay. Thanks again
- Merle (6/5): - Breakfast was very minimal, outside property not great.
- William (10/5): - The property was undergoing renovations on the outside. Our room had been recently redone. It was comfortable. I would stay there again
- Spencer (6/5): - The bed lacked firmness, the surroundings were loud and the property was dated.
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabela (10/5): - We had a very late check in and the front desk was very nice and accommodating for us. Bed was comfortable and was a good stay :)
- Jodi Lynn (8/5): - It was close to airport. Very quite nice place. Staff very sweet.
- Rajarajan (7/5): Good -
- James (10/5): New Management Looking to Make a Difference - We were warned to stay away, but due to the convenience of the location we decided to stay there anyway. Excellent decision. New managers are working very hard to make it spotless on the inside and soon to be the outside as well. Perfect place for short stays in the area. would definitely stay there again.
- Fahmida (10/5): - good
- Aaron (10/5): - Clean room; motel undergoing cosmetic renovations during my stay. Room and hotel were clean, staff was genuine, friendly, and helpful.
- Breanna (10/5): - I’m not sure of the woman’s name at the front desk, but she was so nice!
