• Susan (7/5): Prime location, clean and basic amenities. - The location is exceptional. You are just steps from one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. At low tide you can walk for more than an hour along the shore all the way to the Marina. Dozens of good restaurants are just minutes away, the parking is safe and convenient. Major stores are less than a 10 minute drive and there’s a convenience store across the street. The neighborhood is nice and quiet at night. The furniture is cheap, outdated and ugly. There’s nowhere comfortable and cozy to sit and talk. The beds are extremely hard and the pillows are lumpy. Internet is not included, neither is salt, pepper or any kitchen amenities, nothing to make tea, crappy bath soap. No beach towels or chairs. Only one key and when you go out, so does the power - even the washer.

After being assured that our deposit would be refunded in full, it wasn't when we had to cancel because of Covid. They deducted a charge! Avoid until they learn how to treat customers fairly.
• petermS5936KA (2/5): Review coral do vau - After using coral do vau for more than 20 happy years I am so disappointed to see its decline this year no improvement since pre covid poor cleaning and linen service pool furniture a disgrace unusable and the lovely Maria on reception sorely missed it is our last time here really sad so different from when it was in style brochure so rundown needs refurbished soon as possible!

I have always had happy memories and a pleasant stay during them them years, having returned to coral do vau I am honestly shocked how a place I called my second home is now in disrepair , the pool area is a disgrace how staff are expected holiday makers to use it is beyond my imagination, the rooms are filthy and showing it’s age ! No cleaning service regularly, as there is a time I could remember at least 2-3 times a week! Be expected to take your own waste to the bins and wash own towels as we have paid for this service , a much loved member of staff Maria who is no longer there was so appreciated and helpful as the staff now at reception are no where to be seen! I will not be returning here , I’m very disheartened and felt let down from our experience here this time
• Andrea (10/5): A great stay in Algarve - The location is ideal to visit Algarve. 2 minutes away from a beautiful beach and the apartment was spacious, modern and very clean. Two pools and a tennis field are available for guests. Staff was incredibly helpful. We had to do a very late check in and someone was there to wait for us (there is a fee for late check in). Very much recommended! Nothing

• carrie-me-far-away (8/5): Lovely family holiday - Stayed here last year and only just remembered to review it whilst doing a few others. I had a amazing family holiday staying here. Maria on reception is lovely and helpful. The apartments are massive, old fashioned but clean and can fit four people in. We had great balconies looking at the pool. The pool was clean, not huge but big enough as not many people staying at the time. The hotel is near a little shop and has a couple restaurants near as well as being 2 mins to the beautiful beach but there’s not much else around here. It’s about a 20 cliff top walk to the town (start of town) with all the restaurants and bars so we only went there in the evenings. If you want a peaceful place at the pool/beach then here’s the place for you if you want bars and shops all day then stay down in the town. Can’t wait to go back for another family holiday next year. Book far in advance as they book up fast.
• SCFEJMM (8/5): Needs an upgrade. - Have been coming here for years. Love the location, staff so friendly. But I have to say the place needs an upgrade. The pool area was dirty, and most of the umbrellas broken. Kiddies pool was closed with weeds growing out of the side. We always go end of May, never encountered this before. Pity really because it was always top class. The cleaning service was normally brilliant. Towel change every day. Down to 3 days a week. And apartment never cleaned to the usual standard. For all that I love Vau & will return there. Hopefully the Coral will improve & get that badly needed upgrade. 😎
• cazscotland-11 (10/5): Fabulous stay - Just returned from 7 night stay here booked through booking.com . Had an amazing holiday here. The apartments are across from one of the beautiful beaches in a quiet area with a few restaurants and a couple of shops for groceries nearby . Praia de rocha is about a 15-20 minute walk and Alvor about 45 mins (approx 7 euros in a taxi to Alvor) we stayed in block A level 2 Apartment A which had a fabulous view over the pool and the beach . The apartment had a large bedroom with double bed with a balcony and seating off it. good sized bathroom , well equipped kitchen with a washing machine , living room which had the other two beds , table and chairs and sofas and Portuguese tv. There was also a balcony off of the living room where you could dry washing . There were four of us staying and we found the apartment spacious . The only minus points were there was no full length mirror , only mirror was in the bathroom and we had no air con but the temperature was not unbearable when we stayed so we had no problems. There is a WiFi area in the tv room area which was useful. Tennis court can be hired for 8.50 euros per hour .there were no real problems in getting a sunbed even into the afternoon. The staff were friendly and helpful .We really had a very relaxing holiday in a beautiful area of the Algarve and would go back again in a minute . Thank you Coral Do Vau
• Vondarar (8/5): Margarida Periquito - We stayed at - Edifiio Coral do vau Apt 1ºA, 8500-002 Portimão - all these apartments are own by different owners so check for the one Sweet Home XII cause that’s where we got a super host named Margarida Periquito; she went out of the way to help us at the car rentals, drove us there, drove us back to the train station the next day. The apartment was ocean facing, very clean, with basic amenities including cooking utilities, kitchen Accesories, washing machine etc. lovely host and lovely location. About 300 mts from a super market and 100 mts from a few options to eat. Thank you Margarida...
• MsManda (10/5): Beautiful apartments, great customer service and a gorgeous location - We were a family of 5 coming on mid term break. We arranged our transfers through yellow fish transfers who were awesome! Our apartment was clean and fresh and had 2 bedrooms. The cleaning service was good and the pool area was really well maintained and really clean. A special mention must be made regarding the service we got from Maria at reception who was so pleasant and wonderful. Elda was also great and very helpful and courteous. The clientele were mainly courteous Canadians escaping the Winter and retired couples.Unfortunately as it was off season the local supermarkets weren't open but you could walk to to Praia da Rocha (10 mins) or take the minibus that goes every 30 mins from outside the apartments numbers 14 and 35. It is 1.50 per journey but if you go to the ticket office on Largo de Dieqe you can by 10 journeys for 8 euro and this journey could take you to Alvor, Portimao centre or the Aqua centre which is the local shopping centre. It is definitely worthwhile to buy this card. Around an about there are a few bars but they were a little expensive for us as we were 5 persons. We preferred to go into town and sample the epicurean delights of Algarve which were roasted sucking pigs and giblets of chicken and rice! In the town beer was 1.25 a glass and a glass of wine was 1 euro also. My favourite things were the location, it was stunning elegant setting right on the beach and we loved our evening stroll at sun down. I would without hesitation stay here again.
• pgman1960 (6/5): Quiet,relaxing - Took a cab from town €7.50 ,not bad, large suite- 2 bed,2 bath,kitchen with clothes and dishwasher , dining area and living room. Friendly helpful staff. Kitchen is light on things like salt,pepper,soap,. Location is nice ,across the street to a nice big sandy beach. Local restaurants very close and very good. The room was a bit cold when we arrived but soon warmed up, ac in suite, nice pool on site. Bus to town is out front €1.50 each way.

As the restaurants near by are really affordable, I suspect in the summer this is an excellent location, staff were friendly Note there is only one English tv channel bbc news
• MarionT342 (10/5): Fantastic Apartments& location - Literally just back from an 8 day stay at Coral do Vau. The apartments are fantastic, extremley spacious, very clean, even have a washing machine! The key can be tricky when double locking the door so we left it at single lock which was fine. Very helpful staff at reception. Its location is amazing... across the road from beach & right beside some lovely restaurants. Spar shop also across the road.Its the kind of place you would never have to leave as everything is on your doorstep. Will definitely be back!!
• A567UUheatherk (10/5): Just as good as ever - I’ve stayed in these apartments on numerous occasions over the last 15 years and in different times of the year. For convenience to the beach I’m sure they can’t be bettered. The complex isn’t massive and as such the atmosphere is very friendly and I feel treated like an individual rather than a number. The apartments are kept incredibly clean. All the staff will help at the slightest request and do their best to make Coral do Vau to make sure your visit is special. Staff from reception to cleaners treat me like a friend rather than just a guest without taking advantage. The number of repeat guests to the establishment tells you how well it’s run.
• olivia5002015 (10/5): Wonderful Beach Location - I recently stayed here with my partner and his mother. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was nice and spacious. We thought prior to travelling that all the 2 bedroom apartments have a sea view. This was not the case but it wasn't a big deal. The apartment was very comfortable, the only complaint being that the beds were very hard. There was a lovely pool and the beach was right across the road which was wonderful. There were a number of restaurants to the front of the apartments and I would highly recommend Jacaranda. The staff in the apartments were lovely especially Maria on reception who could not have been more helpful.

Literally metres from a beautiful beach and the pool was fantasic too. Apartments were cleaned daily and had everything we needed. Would definitely go back again.
• KevinHSwindon (10/5): Lovely Appartments in a great location overlooking Praia Do Vau - We have stayed at these apartments several times over the last decade, they are in a great location a stones throw Praia Do Vau beach, the pool is lovely place to refresh after getting hot in the Algarve Sun, just a simply wonderful location.

• deslauriermc (6/5): checked in july 2 to july 5 - booked through booking.com. staying 2 nights . hotel is very close to the beach , a few meters walking distance . nice area although it seems to be a bit rundown. surprisingly , they don't supply shampoo , or even dishwashing detergent and scrub , as its a full equipped kitchen . no towels for the pool or even beach ... spoke to customer service and was told that clients are expected to supply most of the things a part from the regular hotel towels .. i don't recommend this establishment unless you plan on buying beach towels , dishwasher detergent , soap ( they give you 2 small soap bars when checking in ), dish scrubs ..
• B1979NZmarkr (10/5): would return tomorrow - been to vau a few times but not stayed at coral do vau but always wanted as the location looked great straight across from a small sandy beach,we were lucky to have a sea view above the pool,waking up every morning to the sea and beach was great,the appartments were very big having a full kitchen,bedroom which was en suite,a bathroom and lounge area with armchairs and tv,the staff were great and helped with anything you needed to know,another good thing was the pool was quiet only about 5 or 6 people most days around the pool side,might get busier in summer tho,i would like to return here as its a nice quiet area with a nice beach and 4 restaurants next door.
• Freespiritno1 (10/5): Very impressed - The apartment was very large and bright. Everything was immaculately clean and there was everything you could wish for including a dish washer! 2 large balconies have views over the pool and beach. Staff are polite and very helpful. A real home from home, highly recommend
