- John (8/5): - The surrounding area can get a bit noisy as its a 24/7 part of the city, but it's extremely convenient for Oktoberfest. The front desk gentleman was very nice and let me into my room very early.

- Michael (8/5): - Great hotel inside. Outside was VERY noisy until 5am on weekends. Several strip clubs within a block seemed to draw a shady crowd although no one bothered us. We hoped for a Germany-type experience but this is a very middle-eastern neighborhood. Skip next time.

- Kathleen (10/5): - This is very walkable as the train station is less than 5 min away. Many resturants around. This hotel is on the opening weekend parade route so if you have a balcony you can watch from hotel. Very convenient.

- Gentle (8/5): - The staff was very friendly and the room was tastefully decorated. The beds were not very comfortable. The area around the hotel is full with lustful looking men walking down the street lol there is a strip club right across the street which I knew about, but I didn’t realize the noise coming from the street would literally go on all night long. Overall, it is an OK property to walk to the main attractions around Munich city center but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. Also, the television did not work.

The staff was friendly, the check in easy, the room lovely and unique, as well as spacious and comfortable. Dining options abound, and I really enjoyed my stay. I only wish I could have stayed longer.

- Sophia (4/5): Poor management and service. - The air conditioning starting dripping profusely in the middle of the night. I went down to reception and they gave me an alternative room. At 3am I moved, however being in an unfamiliar room, alone in the middle of the night was very uncomfortable. The next morning I was informed that the overflow needs emptying every couple of weeks and they went and did this. I do question why if you know this is a maintenance job that needs regularly doing, why it isn’t carried out between guests. That same night it started dripping again at 1am. I was not moving as I had a big meeting the next day and needed to sleep and be prepared. I placed towels and bin underneath and tried to sleep through the drips. The next morning when I went to reception they seemed fairly unbothered that I had two disturbed nights due to the lack of maintenance and care. I did get a refund of 1 night after asking for it and going backwards and forwards, however I would have preferred they had actually fixed the problem. The mattress was heavily soiled with a large blood stain- this should have been replaced and a mattress protector used, that’s bad standards and dirty. The location is excellent for the station, however it is very cosmopolitan with many strip clubs around, so maybe not best for families.

- Ma Felyn (10/5): - Everything is perfect! Except we were surprised that the location is surrounded by adult clubs. The staff is nice and accommodating, and they offer many choices of food for breakfast. The chef is friendly and kind.

- Jason (6/5): - Hotel is fine but the surrounding area doesn’t feel very safe, lots of drunks and dodgy characters Hotel room looked out on to a fire escape and back alley of a kebab shop so windows couldn’t be opened due to noise and smell and the room was very dark.
- Katherine (6/5): - I liked the access to the train station, and the breakfast provided a good variety of items and was tasty. The rooms were pretty clean but small. The storage was good in there, a couple more hangers would be nice. The staff were very helpful with directions to sites and train/underground suggestions. We asked to NOT have our room cleaned the first day, and the staff came in and emptied our garbage. We had purchased a food item/souvenir in another country, which was in our fridge, and that went missing during this time as well, so then we felt we needed to check our things every time we came back to our room and make sure everything was there for the rest of our stay as we were concerned that if we had our room cleaned or asked for it not be cleaned, perhaps something might go missing. The area around the property has a lot of seedy stuff going on, including strip clubs and bars, and many men hanging out all hours of the night on the streets and at the bars, so I would encourage single women or groups of women to perhaps seek out a different hotel, not in this neighborhood. The hotel lobby smells very strongly of cigarette smoke.
- Robert (8/5): Maison Schiller - nice hotel in a lively area - Nice room in many ways, and friendly service at reception. As British visitors we asked if there was a kettle in the room - there wasn't as standard, but the guy at recpeion went out of his way to provide us with one, which was great. Some eccentricities: the odd lighting set-up in the room made it realy difficult to read in bed. And the location was lively - and horribly noisy the first night we were there, though the following nights were better. The areas around the main station in an city are notoriously not the best, and this is no exception. There was a high level of noise from emergency and delivery vehicles, and we saw at least two altercations in the few days we were there, so if you want a nice quiet hotel this isn't for you. Having said that, we found it perfectly friendly and safe - and with a really great (even if chain) coffee shop (Coffee Fellows) opposite.

Large comfy rooms. Small fridge and coffee maker. BMW factory shot public transit ride or 15-20 euro ride.
- jamey (8/5): - Beautiful quaint property, friendly helpful staff. We stayed in the 4-person family room, which offered plenty of space for everyone. Very convenient to the train lines and walking distance to many very good restaurants. The one disappointment, which is completely out of the hands of the hotel ownership/management is the multiple adult entertainment establishments lining the street of the hotel with giant screens advertising their respective evening shows. Great if you expect that and are perhaps looking for that in your hotel selection, not so great if you are traveling with younger children. However, by all other measures, a very nice hotel.

Instead we had it in the toom. Guys at the front dead were nice and polite. It's a nice jorel, very close to the center of the city.

- 512vitak (2/5): very bad - How is it possible that a booking offers a hotel with such a room? How is it possible that such a room even exists in a hotel? Room: - It has a window, but it overlooks the shaft between the buildings, so there is no daylight in the room. - The room does not have any view. - The room was cold (colder than the hallway). It was only after two days that it warmed up to 22°C. - Every night (after 10 p.m.) there is loud talking and shouting of people, as well as rumbling with objects. - You can't get to bed without hitting the TV. And also: - At breakfast, eggs and sausages are kept cold. - The water in the bathroom is dangerously hot. - The coffee machine in the room does not work. Despite the complaints: - They didn't do anything. Although I passed the front desk at least twice a day and had breakfast every morning, none of the staff spoke to me or offered me other rooms.

- Nicolas (8/5): Good budget hotel - Budget hotel, rooms were ok. Located close to the train station and public transportation, restaurant and shopping area. Thete is a good number of adult entreteiment surrounding the hotel, in case you have kinds and do not want to be close to those establishments.

- Travel731527 (8/5): A surprising haven in a gritty neighborhood - Walking to the hotel was, I am not going to lie, a little bit worrying; the area is not great. There were several strip clubs in the vicinity. Initially we were concerned by this but, they were not out touting for business, they didn't make any difference to the noise level on the streets. After a couple of days, we forgot they were even there. But that is a price you pay for being so close to central station! Once in the hotel, we were greeted with the most professional and courteous young man (Nicolas). He swiftly checked us in, gave us some tips of where to grab a bite to eat and information about the wi-fi. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely presented. The bed as extremely comfortable and roomy. The pillows weren't great but not bad enough to ask for different ones. Breakfast was a buffet, in a tired, but clean looking dinning room. It provided enough variation and was replenished promptly. All in all, if you want to be near to the station, have a comfortable, clean room, Maison Schiller is a decent little place, not to be over looked.

- Craig (10/5): - The Maison Schiller was an oasis in a very busy ethnic city center. A Boutique European hotel, rooms nicely prepared. The facility, staff, and rooms were great - no issues. Staff always willing to help, answer questions, and make suggestions. Family always felt safe. It could be noisy and crowded at night, but I contributed that to being there during Oktoberfest. An easy walk to the old city, the train station, restaurants, or the Wiesn. Would use again!
- Jacob (10/5): Excellent Stay - My wife and I booked our stay at a great price for Oktoberfest. The hotel is within fifteen minutes of both the train station and the fairgrounds, and was easy to navigate to and around. Our privacy was well-respected, cleanings were done well and on time when requested, and the staff were helpful. The room appeared to have been updated relatively recently and was very comfortable, with both a fridge and a safe. Wifi was free, reliable, and easy to access. It is a busy part of the city, so things were occasionally a bit loud outside at night, but nothing too extreme. Plus, we were able to watch some of the parades from our window. Overall, it was an excellent stay!

It's not a quiet neighborhood, even though the hotel itself was nice enough looking. My problem with this hotel was their dishonestly and unwillingness to reimburse me for allowing their cleaning people into my room and either stealing or throwing away a bag of brand new items. I had bought souvenirs and legos, and had left them in the room (which was very tight), and gone out touring for the day. We left the "Do Not Disturb" sign on (they tried to blame me that I used the wrong side, but having accidentally done that the day before, I double and triple checked that morning). The next day when we checked out, I noticed our missing bag and immediately notified the hotel. We looked, they checked the trash, they called the cleaning service, but in the end, my bag was gone. It was their responsibility, in my opinion, to reimburse me for someone coming into my room without permission, and then for throwing away my property. I have emailed, called, and emailed again. They almost acknowledge wrongdoing, but refuse to make the situation right. Do not stay here, and if you do, make sure to get some kind of insurance - they are not honest brokers.

- 49StephenC (6/5): Maison Schiller - decent hotel for price. - Maison Schiller was one of several hotels we reviewed for our short stay in Munich as we were looking for proximity to the main railway station as a prerequisite. Maison had decent reviews on TA and on Booking so we opted for it. The hotel turned out to be fine and adequate in meeting our requirements give the budget we wanted to spend. Is it a great hotel - no, is it a decent hotel yes. There were a few short comings to the hotel and room, - room on the small side, - bed wrongly oriented with access only on one side (against a wall) and not facing the wall mounted TV, - limited space and storage, - limited product (toiletries - soap/shampoo combined nothing else), - only one small elevator (working - spiral stairs not suitable), Some things were good; - good aircon (well received and appreciated in the hot weather), - window over street able to be opened for fresh air, - daily room servicing, - 24hr reception, - daily breakfast available for pretty reasonable price. The reviews for this hotel and many nearby make mention of the local area or surrounds and they are well worth heeding. The area on this side of the train station is very buzzy, vibrant and bustling from around 9am to very late. There are quite a lot of late night venues and adult only XXX type establishments nearby and across from the hotel (wasn't an issue). The area is significantly culturally diverse and possibly not what travellers might be anticipating when visiting Germany's second city, so could be a bit of a shock for some. We were a little bit cautious on first impressions but quickly noted there seemed to be a rythem and cadence to the area, lots of street front fruit and veg stores, variety of restaurants etc. We never felt uncomfortable, vulnerable or threaten at any time and our interactions for the most part were all very nice. We did encounter quite a noticeable number of persons asking for money etc but this was quite common throughout the places we visited in Germany. The reception manager Said was very polite, professional and interested and we found this with the other staff we spoke with. Said was very helpful in securing our bags until official check in at 3pm. Overall we had a pleasant stay at Maison - as stated its not the greatest hotel but also quite decent and reasonably good value for the cost. NB: listing show the hotel has a shuttle service to the Airport - this is not entirely correct, we enquired about this and were given a fixed price of 120 euro for up to 5 persons and luggage, to my way of thinking this is a town or hire car price for this service and not the usual minibus/bus hotel pick-up you would normally get for about 20euro/dollars. (more than a taxi price 90-100 and uber 75-90 euro). We opted to walk down to the otherside of the railway station and catch the Lufthansa Airport Express bus for 13p/p - efficient service runs about every 20mins. Definitely worth having a look at if wishing to stay in this location (plenty of the other hotels looked decisively less attractive)
- Emily (8/5): - The rooms are modern and comfortable. Elevator requires keycard to go up into the hotel which feels safe and the staff were very friendly and accomodating.
- Eric (2/5): - I put a Do Not Disturb sign and even told the staff, as instructed, the night before that I do not need housekeeping the next day. However, housekeeping still comes the following day and moves things around my room and misplaces some of my items. I’ve NEVER experienced this in any of my other hotel stays. I brought this up to the staff that evening and the person said there’s nothing he can do about it but to have me try to talk to the housekeeping manager the next morning when they arrive. He told me not to mention his name because he didn’t want to be caught in the middle of the struggle between the hotel and housekeeping. The next morning I go to the front desk and a different man and a lady basically just smirk at me and tell me there’s nothing they can do. They reluctantly apologize and don’t even bother to try to reconcile the whole situation. They mention no way to talk to hotel manager, but just to send email to the hotel. I send the email and get a generic apology response. What a joke. What hotel still allows housekeeping to go into the room even with a Do Not Disturb sign and explicit instructions to the front desk the night before?! Every step was followed and yet housekeeping came into my room (without permission) and misplaced items. That’s not even adding that the window in lobby area is somewhat cracked from a bullet. And outside feels super sketch and dirty around hotel. Inside the room, furniture and lights were super dusty. Never coming here again.
- Sabrina (10/5): - Exactly as advertised and the front desk people were very helpful. I think one was named Zade (sorry if misspelled). Very central location and easy to walk or travel by public transportation.
- Randy (4/5): - The pictures of the hotel are deciving. The rooms are very small, and the interior design is too overwhelming. The neighborhood is rather foreboding.
- Patrick (10/5): - The staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean.
- Renee (8/5): - Maison Schiller is a lovely hotel, great decor and centrally located. The immediate surrounding streets are not great, quite dirty. Unfortunately I found my room quite noisy, the room directly above me were unbearably so which detracted from my stay but isn’t the hotels fault. All in all a nice place and very well located, 10 min walk to Munich HBF and Karlsplatz (Munich Old Town) and major tram lines.
- John (10/5): Nice hotel poor breakfast - The hotel was nice breakfast was very poor. Very little choice the lady serving acted like she would have preferred to be anywhere but there. She spent most of her time taking stuff away. We were advised that breakfast at the weekends was until 11.30 arrived at 10.45 and there was nothing other than bread available. There was no offer to assist us or make any breakfast the woman continued to clean up and acted like we were an inconvenience,
- anne (10/5): - Nice clean room. Nice property. Walkable to train, subway, shopping etc.
- Karla (10/5): - yes, the street‘s a bit sketchy but honestly the staff and the hotel itself is speaking volumes. I’ve been here twice within a month.
- John (2/5): - The air conditioning stopped working in the building. I couldn’t open the windows because fruit flies were coming in from a utility shaft, so my room got unbearably hot. I ended up spending a restless night without sleeping.

- Jeffrey (6/5): - Area is by Hauptbanhof. Noisy with lots of street life. AC didn’t work. Had to sleep with windows open and noise
- Lindsey (6/5): - The room overall was fine, there was AC and it was nicely decorated. Although it was close to the train station, the area around the hotel was not very nice.
- Andrew (8/5): - Nice looking rooms, location is good but maybe not for all.
- Justin (10/5): Superb staff! - The front desk help was awesome. One of the women setting up breakfast most mornings was tremendous about detail and quality. Walkable to most everything we desired to see or a quick Uber.
- Chloe (8/5): - The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff are pleasant enough. It’s also near the train station which can be convenient, however the area is not the most pleasant. There are several gambling dens and strip clubs on the neighbouring blocks, and the street corner the hotel is at is surrounded by late night schwarma shops frequented by hungry men.
- Pablo (4/5): - Unique was the strip club that is directly across the street (Schillerstraße st). Very hard to notice on any maps street veiw because tall sign and screens are off.
- James (10/5): - The team was gracious and professional, breakfast was great, access to premium shopping and Spanish Steps was fantastic.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointed guest - The room was clean, which was excellent. However, it was very tight, with not enough space to lay out our two pieces of luggage. The bedsheets were made of a rough fabric, making it uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally, there was always litter in front of the hotel, which definitely needs to be swept occasionally. This hotel has a lot of potential. The room is clean. They just need to rearrange the furniture in the room to make more space, and use different bedsheets. The price is more than it should be for the location and what the hotel was offering.
- Donald (8/5): Good Value Choice in Berlin - The area around Maison Schiller might put some people off. There are several strip clubs with videos in front in the immediate neighborhood. In spite of that, when we walked through the area around the hotel, we didn’t feel unsafe. We had one room which was comfortable, although not spacious; when our adult kids saw our room, they commented that it was much larger than theirs. The breakfast was adequate and tasty, but not as varied as other hotel breakfast buffets we have had in Europe. It is within easy walking distance of the main train station and was good value for the cost of the room. For two nights, we had to park a car and were able to find inexpensive metered street parking without any problem within 2 blocks of the hotel, although we had to pay the meter if we didn’t leave the parking spot by 9 a.m.

- Loren (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay! The room was clean and comfy (even ready before check in!), the breakfast was plenty and always ready, the location is great and the staff... ALL of them were very friendly and helpful.
