• Alain (8/5): Des nuits rock&roll avec des orages et des averses continuellement! - Séjourné au Dougies Backpackers Resort est une expérience en soi. C'est comme faire du camping avec beaucoup d'ami-es. C'est un lieu ou on se sent bien et ou on peu faire la fête. J'y étais en février et le taux d'humidité dans la région était très élevé. L'auberge est relativement éloignée des services.

• Damiana (10/5): I had a great time, i a good place to meet a lot of people coming from everywhere - There is a kitchen where can you make your breakfast which you like Whether was rain a lot

• Caponetti Enzo (7/5): - Very nice staff and atmosphere. The position was good and there were washing machine and fridges available, as well as the possibility to use the kitchen. The airconditioning in the room was very very old and a bit noisy and the room was quite small

• Manon (9/5): Très bon séjour on recommande - Très bon accueil, les explications étaient claires et le personnel super gentil. L’ambiance était super sympa dans les zones partagées, les chambres quant à elles étaient très calme La cuisine est bien équipé, et de grand rangement et frigo sont disponibles Les chambres sont pratique, nous avions meme un petit frigo privatif. C’était propre. Les douches et toilettes communes sont entretenus et pratiques Le plus : l’accueil se fait même tard et le bar est ouvert jusqu’à minuit. Tout était bien !
• Lara (9/5): Hostel mit Dschungel-Flair - Das Übernachten in den Zelten und Bungalows ist sehr naturnah, es gibt einen Pool, eine große Küche und Gemeinschaftsräume. Waschmaschinen vorhanden, Parkplätze auf dem Gelände und an der Straße. Zu Fuß ein Stück vom Zentrum entfernt, aber alles gut machbar.

• Amanda (3/5): - I liked Port Douglas but next time I would rather stay in the town itself. Very uncomfterable bed and pillow. No privacy curtains, no light by the bed, no electrical outlet nearby (just 1 in the whole room). It was near the beach but the beach wasn't nice...

• Maisie (6/5): - Very pleasant atmosphere, staff were very welcoming, facilities were mostly clean. Couldn’t lock the room from the inside, and loud banging noises throughout the night didn’t make for a good nights sleep.

• NAGAMUNE (7/5): キャンプ - スタッフがとても親切だった。設備は古いが、掃除がしっかりされていた。ルールがしっかりしていた。こんな綺麗な冷蔵庫があるバックパッカーを見たのは初めてだった！バーがあるので夜も音楽が聞こえるが、特に気にならなかった。

Shared Bathroom cleanliness lacked at times - likely more to do with other residents not respecting the shared areas
• Vanessa (7/5): - Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer gebucht, das sehr sauber und geräumig war. Hatten auch eine Klimaanlage und eigenen Kühlschrank. Die geteilten Bäder sind okay. Besonders hervorzuheben ist Jef, der Manager, der außergewöhnlich freundlich, zuvorkommend und lustig ist und einen stets begeistert mit guten Tipps versorgt! Die Küche war leider sehr dreckig und lud nicht gerade zum Kochen ein. Es ist ein typisches Party-Backpacker Hostel mit entsprechendem Klientel, sodass es auch abends noch recht laut ist.

• Rebecca (9/5): Comfy stay on a budget - Perfect for a budget friendly but comfortable stay. Staff were really attentive and shared facilities like the kitchen very well organised. Honestly there isn't much I would say could improve here. The shower temperature was a bit inconsistent but that was to be expected.

• Maëva (2/5): - The staff is very nice and helpful, the location is good, and the outside deck with tables and the pool is quite nice Unfortunately, we didn’t read the reviews before booking, so we were quite surprised to find out that there’s an event every night. There were open mic nights with loud music and people singing until late, and even a DJ on Thursday night — right in the middle of the week. Our room was just in front of the common areas, and since the window wouldn’t close properly, it honestly felt like we were part of the party… from our beds. The room itself was disappointing. When we arrived, there was a plastic cup and a piece of underwear next to the door (still there when we left after 4 nights). The bathrooms seemed to be cleaned only once a day, so by the evening they weren’t very pleasant to use, and there was no soap available during our stay. We didn’t cook much, but the kitchen area looked quite similar in terms of cleanliness. Overall, the hostel really needs to improve its cleaning standards and make it clearer that it’s a party hostel, as this isn’t mentioned anywhere. Having a DJ set on a Thursday night when you need to wake up early the next morning is not ideal. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet stay or a good night’s sleep.

• Tessa (7/5): Affordable good location for visiting port Douglas and accessing reef and rainforest. - It’s a lovely tropical setting and good location (20 min walk to main beach and town centre with lots of nice restaurants and shops). The private room I had was comfortable. It is definitely a PARTY HOSTEL. Relaxing vibe during the day, but there is loud music and events happening every single night starting around 9pm and ending around 12am. Not great when you want to wake up early for big days out or rest after a busy day. The kitchen sink and washing up situation was a bit gross- sponges not regularly changed.

• Enrico (5/5): - Price This is a PARTY camping with some decrepit rooms. It should be clear in the description. The beds in my room were very old and uncomfortable, with some broken springs. The entire place is very noisy until late night, so you cannot really sleep without GOOD ear plugs. Shared showers and bathrooms not super clean but OK.

• Tiffany (6/5): - Jeff's attention was exceptional The hostel organizes parties every day and music can be heard from all of the rooms until 12 am. This is not informed anywhere when you book. The rooms are not the cleanest and the pillow is a bit uncomfortable. You are required to leave a deposit even if you stay for a short time, and you have to remove the bed sheets from the room when you check out.
• samira (10/5): One of the best hostel ever! - One of the best hostel i've ever been & i've been to over 150 hostels around the world. The staff is super lovely Big outside area with pool, bar & food for fair prices. A kitchen to cook & you get your own box to put your stuff in. I loved that you have your own little cupboard in the room, it makes it more like a home and the room is much more organised. Really close to the beach. In the shower you have space to put your things.

I enjoyed the cheap scooters (BEAM) out the front to make my way i - I did like the room I stayed in and the staff assisted me when I needed assistance or help. The proximity to the DJ on a Thursday night. Was quite the thump but also realise I’m in a hostel and would expect that as well.

You live outside and the atmosphere is pleasant. Could be cleaner and cheaper, and it should be better to have some facilities into the private rooms (such as kettle/coffee maker…)
