• Abigail Chua (10/5): Beautiful location with onsen and river views - The room was so big comfy, absolutely loved being able to roll around on a futon at night. The staff will clean the room every day and give us fresh towels and yukata which is amazing. The breakfast and lunch options were absolutely delicious. Our attendant Miss Shonika was so kind and attentive throughout the trip, really recommend coming here. The person who showed us to our room is also really attentive and did his best to explain everything. Landlady who came in to greet us during dinner on our first night is really attentive and tried her best to speak to us in English and even wished us "Thank you for coming" in Malay. The onsen was so beautiful and the outdoor bath was so comfy. Loved the view of the mountains and the river below. We felt welcomed and taken well care of throughout the entire trip and we will love to go back there. Maybe provide shampoo and body wash in bottles instead of packets. They were a bit difficult to use.

• ebababi (10/5): Μέρες χαλάρωσης - Όλα τέλεια. Το προσωπικό πολύεξυπηρετικό και ευγενέστατο. Το ξενοδοχείο ένα στολίδι. Όλα καθαρά και πολύ βολικά και στο onsen. Πεντανόστιμο παραδοσιακό φαγητό, μεγάλη ποικιλία και τις δυο μέρες. Ωραία θέα από τα δωμάτια προς το ποτάμι. Δεν έχουμε λόγια να περιγράψουμε πόσο ωραία εμπειρία ήταν. Βολική τοποθεσία κοντά στο Νίκκο για επίσκεψη στα αξιοθέατα και βραδινή επίσκεψη στο λουτρό του ξενοδοχείου, το οποίο παραμένει ανοικτό όλη τη νύχτα! Αξίζει να πατε βόλτα πεζοί στην περιοχή έχει υπέροχα μονοπάτια κατά μήκος του ποταμού και γέφυρες κάθε τόσο. Πανέμορφο μέρος. Προσοχή στις αρκούδες! Έχει ταμπέλες, εμείς δεν είδαμε.

• Wong (9/5): Nice hotel to stay - Onsen is excellent, open air onsen has good view. Staff are very attentive and polite. Even the boss (I think) came out to greet us during dinner and when we were departing. The access route to the hotel is narrow and difficult to locate.

• Feilian (10/5): Perfect stay at Kinugawa Onsen - Everything was fantastic. Very helpful and friendly staff; amazing ryokan meals; perfect outdoor onsens and great, thoughtful supplies. Overall a wonderful time spent at Kinugawa Onsen. Nothing. Would visit again one day!
• Yulia (9/5): Excelente servicio - Nos sorprendió gratamente la hospitalidad del hotel. Fueron muy atentos durante toda nuestra estancia y había personal que podía comunicarse en inglés. La cena kaiseki fue generosa y muy buena, nos explicaron cada uno de los platos adecuadamente y pudimos disfrutarla en una habitación reservada. La habitación era espaciosa y las vistas al río eran increíbles. No pudimos utilizar los onsens públicos debido a los tatuajes, pero puedes utilizar los privados, reservando la hora al hacer el check-in. Agradecemos mucho el detalle que tuvieron con nosotros por nuestros cumpleaños.

• Shaun (10/5): Great hotel with onsen in a beautiful area backing onto the river and has incredibly helpful and friendly staff. - Staff is incredible I smacked my head a couple times on the bathroom doorway but I’m 6’1”. Also I could feel the ground through the mat that I was sleeping on but the duvet was the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept with.

• Sansiree (10/5): Wonderful experience! - Wow! I don’t even know how to express our stay but this is one of the Ryokan that we have to thought about visiting again. Everything was perfect! This is the real Ryokan that we want to experience,The greetings welcoming , the hospitality, the food also delicious ! One more thing that’s really impressed us was that “Okami-San” came to visit us during the dinner, she really kind even though we don’t speak Japanese she tried to communicate with us. She also recognized one of my family members who his birthday just passed 2 days ago, she came to wishing him a birthday and when we checked out she also gifted him a birthday gift. Such a heart warming place. Oh forgot to mention the hotel, the Onsen has such a beautiful view not that big but no crowded at all! I think because they don’t accept that many guests per day which make us feel so relaxed and privacy. Every staff member are nice and kind. Nothing I can think of

• Hajadi Artiawan (10/5): Happy - Dinner n breakfast was well presented n delicious. Dinner was allocated at a private room which was nice n quiet. The lady manager came to say thank you in Japanese which we had difficulty to understand but it was a very warm gesture and made us feel happy. Booking.com should always offer plan with dinner n breakfast for onsen hotel in Japan. Having Japanese kaiseki dinner set at Nanae was an unforgettable experience. Arigato Nanae and specially to Sato san who help us to carry our luggage from a distance away at hotel entrance.

• XIANG (10/5): Exceptionally clean Japanese style room with spectacular view and delicious dinner and breakfast - Location is close to the local train station. It was rainy and the host offered umbrella and welcomed us when we arrived. The view of the room was breathtaking and spectacular and we can enjoy complementary tea and snacks while enjoying the river view. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and we had a variety of dishes, like a Michelin star restaurant. The room was exceptionally clean and we had a wonderful experience. Everything is perfect!

• Lucy (9/5): Lovely Traditional Japanese Stay - We loved our wonderful stay here at Nanaeyae. We are english tourists on our honeymoon and they accommodated us in the best possible way as there was a little bit of a language barrier, but the staff were all wonderful and so patient. We loved experiencing the traditional Japanese lifestyle and food, and the public onsen was luscious with gorgeous views of the autumn forest on the mountains. It was a good location if you want to relax up in the mountains and take the train with beautiful views to visit Nikko's main highlights: Shinkyõ Bridge and other places. The private onsen was a bit expensive but I understand it is to limit use of guests using it as there were only two and I think only one was in use when we were there. The food took some time getting used to as it was traditional old Japanese style food, but the lay out of it was stunning that I kept taking pictures!

Some of the service was missing little bits, such as a courtesy call to dinner (we seem to have surprised them when we arrived at our scheduled time), making tea for you after dinner, etc. maybe these are not standard. But overall it is a very minor point and the staff were very polite and earnest.

The onsen was just like the photos, so stunning. Expensive for a family of five but worth it as it was a real highlight of our trip.
• Richard (10/5): Fabulous kaiseki meals in a beautiful setting, some distance from Nikko. - The kaiseki dinners and breakfasts were clearly the highlight of the stay. They might arguably have been worth the entire cost of the stay, and make the ryokan itself a destination for a quick trip from Tokyo. The setting is beautiful, looking down over a rushing mountain river. The staff were attentive and seemed to be genuinely sweet and caring people. The location is not exactly “Nikko” and it isn’t a good base for seeing the awesome sights of Nikko. Because of the limited train schedule, you shouldn’t count on getting more than a few hours a day of sightseeing from this ryokan.

They made our stay really special. And even more so as it was my birthday and they had prepared a bday message for me. We are very grateful for the presents too. This is the best place to experience the traditional Japan. The food is delicious and prepared with care; we loved the variety and the opportunity to try different things; the hot spring was the best ending to our day. The rooms are nicely decorated and have gorgeous views (at least ours had!). But the service is what makes this place so special. Thank you again for such great experience. • Tombayu (10/5): Excellent ryokan in a calm small town! - It was our first time staying in a ryokan, and it did gave us a really good impression. Property itself was nice, located in a small town beside the river. Room was facing the river so we can hear the soothing noise from the river. Dinner was excellent--food kept on coming, great quality, great variety. They even managed to cater our diet (without pork and alcohol). I love the outdoor onsen. It's very relaxing to soak in the hot water facing the river. Nothing in particular--just remember to close the window at night because there might be insects coming in!
