Guest Reviews
- Alan (8/5): - Good location within the Medina. Spacious rooms. Booked last minute when another booking fell through. Definitely felt we could have got better value for money elsewhere. No alcohol and no guests allowed. Shower was cold most times I tried. Was asked for 100 dirhams per guest tourist tax on arrival (for a 3 night stay)- this could be made clearer on the listing.
- tracyclaireh (10/5): Marrakech - It was lovely to stay in a traditional riad for our stay in Marrakech. Mohammed was so helpful arranging our transfers and organising taxis for us. Giving us advice on the area too. We stayed for three nights and had breakfast which was freshly cooked and delicious
- 104aleksl (6/5): Average, but lovely host! - The rooms are definitely quite dark, with no windows or natural light. Along with no windows, I found myself coughing frequently as the pillows were quite dusty. There isn’t really much to do in the riad itself, as the TVs don’t work, but it’s an excellent location, being very close to the centre. Mohammad is also lovely and attentive, and has kept up with us to make sure we’re doing well, which is quite nice of him to do. He’s been very kind. As my title suggests, just average, but Mohammad has multiple suggestions for things to do, so if you’re going to Marrakech perhaps clueless, it might be useful to have someone like him around.
- fabiomR5720TC (10/5): Home away from home - I stayed 4 nights at this Riad and got an amaizing experience.
The place is clean and staff very humble and lovely.
Very close to the entry Bab Ksiba and within an walkable distance to the main square.
They could improve a bit more the breakfast offering.
- josearturog967 (10/5): Excellent and authentic Moroccan Experience - My family and I (wife and 2 kids ages 11 and 8) had a very good time at Riad Fatuoma. This is a very traditional Moroccan accommodation that will allow you to have a full and real Moroccan experience. If you are expecting or are used to luxury or even Premier Inn-style accommodation, this is not the place for you. The accommodation is very modest, simple, and basic, but again, it provides you with an excellent experience of real Morocco (which is what many people are looking for when visiting Marrakech) at a very affordable price. The Riad is located in the old town, so get ready to walk around a labyrinth of narrow and very busy streets with high contrasts (i.e. some of them will be very touristy while others will show you the poor side of the city and its people). The area is very safe to walk at any time of the day. We had the full board. In the mornings, the breakfast was basic but tasty and traditional. For lunch and dinner, we had to tell in advance the host (Mohamed) what we wanted. These mainly consisted of Beef Tajin (a very traditional and tasty Moroccan dish), pizza, tacos and fish. Overall, the food was OK. There are plenty of stores, restaurants, corner stores, etc. around the Riad. It is located about 15-20 minutes walk to the medina, which we visited during the morning, afternoon and night as it presents three completely different faces. The only issue we had was that the room was extremely small for four people, we did not even have space where to put the suitcases, so we put them on the floor but then struggled to move around the room. We could not use the wardrobes either as the beds blocked their doors. I am not sure if the room was suitable for four people as advertised in Love Holidays. However, after a couple of days, we got used to this and just carried on well with our holiday. The toilet was of a good size but the water pressure was very poor. Also, the shower did not have a shower curtain so we had to be careful not to spill water throughout the entire bathroom. The room had air conditioning, which worked very well. The internet in the room was acceptable, although, after heavy rain, we found some issues with it. Overall, the room and in general the Riad were clean. One of the highlights of the stay was Mohamed, the Riad host, who was always there making sure that we had a pleasant time. He gave us his WhatsApp number so we communicated fast with him. He responded to all our requests very quickly and effectively. Overall, we would highly recommend Riad Fatuoma if you want to have an authentic Moroccan experience and if you are not fuzzy about modest accommodation.
- Bluebell-woods10 (10/5): Quiet, clean Riad in a great location with a fabulous host! - Wonderful, quiet Riad with a wonderful host, Mohamed! The Riad is basic but clean, in a quiet location. Mohamed couldn’t be more helpful, he arranged experiences for us at good prices (the rest we had already booked in Booking.com and GetYourGuide app). We would recommend the walking tour, massage at a Hamam and desert quad bike, camel and dinner tour. The Clock cafe nearby was good for food and experiences in the evening. They also did a cooking experience. Everything was in easy walking distance and the taxis are cheap if you need one.
Breakfast was lovely and Mohamed was such a great host. We were not going for luxury, more an authentic, local experience. Marrakesh is cold in the evenings so take a coat and a jumper. Thank you Mohamed for a fabulous experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- naywillmott (8/5): A lovely 1st trip in Morocco 🇲🇦 - We were met by Mohammad when we got out of the taxi. He was very helpful throughout the stay & made us feel welcome. Rooms are basic but good value for the price we paid. The raid is a good distance to the main square & all the shops. My tip would be take a kettle, no drinking facilities in room mugs or glasses. Take a hairdryer - one available but for the whole raid to use. Turn aircon to high on an evening (hot air) rooms get very cold.
Would love to go back & stay - morocco is a lovely country with friendly people
- J3171FDpatj (2/5): Horrible - Arrive at the hotel perhaps midnight the staff were very friendly, we checked in but to our surprise one of the rooms we were allocated smells mouldy and needed air, therefore 4 adults shared one room.Three on a double bed 1 on what seem to be a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable, the water pressure was very low, the pillow cases were torn, our week end accommodation was a total let down.
- Excursion787678 (10/5): Excellent staff - Me and my friend had a great stay in Marrakech at Riad Fatouma. Mohamed was extremely welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time, and it was lovely to get to know him. Without a doubt the best staff experience I’ve had. The Riad is great value for money and a short walk from the centre
- Culture27939383641 (10/5): Beautiful riad - Really nice to be immersed in Moroccan culture. Such a lovely quaint Riad and Mohammed is so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay . We will definitely be back again because the hospitality was exceptional and we absolutely loved the experience
- TraceyC298 (2/5): So disappointed! - This was an EasyJet Holiday and it was definitely over priced. On arrival, I was so disappointed and felt we had made a huge mistake as we expected so much more for our money. It would be fine if you are young and backpacking. I would suggest that you do some more research to compare value for money. I wish we had stayed somewhere else.
- Carol1808mumof9 (6/5): Quaint but not 4* - Visited this quaint riad for 3 nights this weekend. It was clean and there is air conditioning. The bed in our room was quite hard. The breakfast was simple and did the job. I definitely wouldn't class it as 4*. Wouldn't choose this area of marrakech to stay in again, as there really isn't much around. Mohammed was lovely, was willing to arrange excursions for us and directed us to the market square.
- O3643DFadamm (10/5): Excellent stay and amazing staff! - Just returned from a 5 night stay at Riad Fatouma in Marrakesh. The Riad is very well located and around a 10-15 minute walk to the main square, as well as other attractions and on the way there are several shops and restaurants with plenty of choice. We arrived late on the first night, but we were greeted by Iheb, who was excellent. He helped us throughout the stay, pointing out his recommendations for where we should visit and things to do. Iheb was kind and very friendly and was always happy to talk to us at anytime! The Riad was clean and tidy, and for the price has everything you need - but you’re probably hardly going to be in the room as there is so much to see in Marrakesh! Couldn’t fault this place, and Iheb made the stay so much better! Iheb also gave us his contact details and said we could message/call him at any time if we needed anything which was so helpful too! Check out was at 12:00 but we didn’t fly home until 17:00, and we could easily leave our luggage behind reception. The Riad is also secure with a large metal gate which is locked, and rooms are incredibly spacious. Overall, I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a comfortable room with great hospitality!
- chloebQ4483OC (10/5): A great little place - Me and my friend had a wonderful stay! Mohamed was an amazing host and nothing was ever too much to ask. He had great recommendations for where to go around the city and made our stay 100x better, thanks again! We will be back as soon as possible!
- deacons634 (10/5): Riad fatouma - It was absolutely amazing. The best customer service I’ve ever had. Rooms are beautiful and the food and drinks are amazing with cheap prices. Mohamed is one of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met and deserves a 5 star rating. Would recommend to everyone
- karolinawatson (10/5): Great riad - Just came back from spending few days at the riad and have to say those bad reviews out there are just wrong. Was bit concerned after seeing some with not knowing what I was getting myself into but was definitelly calmed down when we arrived.
Mohamed (sorry if I spelled it wrong 🫣) who was our point of contact was great. Offered us tea and biscuits straight at the start as we arrived early and our room was not ready yet. Gave us tips for the city, even drew sketch map and name of the nearest gate which was really helpful.
The inside of the riad is beautiful! You can see they try their best to make everyone who stays there happy. To the point where we booked a trip with him that turned out bit less than great. As apology since we booked it through him, he cooked us really tasty dinner on our last night which just made it extra special.
The position is really great as well. The whole time we didn't need to use taxi other than to get from airport and back as everything else was very much walking distance. Took us about 15min to Bahia Palace which is beautiful and about 25ish min to the Jama el Fna.
Definitelly would recommend the riad to anyone. And the Ourika Valley tour is definitely worth it too 😅
Thanks a lot for looking after us
- Rachida (6/5): - Personnel très gentil
