Unweit findet man ausreichend Restaurants, Supermarkt etc. Die Enten beim hausnahen Teich sind etwas nervig und laut, da sie auch mitten in der Nacht zu quaken beginnen. Entenkot eingeschlossen, der sich auf der Terrasse in der Früh befindet.
- Mucea (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, near Vila Franca de Capo, clean and confortable. The staff was really nice, great communication. The cottages are equiped with everything you need.
- Luke (10/5): the most homey, relaxing stay - The location is so private and the staff were very helpful with everything we needed.
The little dog was the highlight of our trip and we will be back in the future. the coffee makers were harder to use versus a k-cup
- Romina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!!
- Natasha (9/5): Would stay here again! - The chalet is lovely, really spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The front lawn is incredible with a pond and ducks, and the resident dog Nika is absolutely adorable! The chalet smells a little musty, opening the doors/windows helps but it could just do with airing a bit more. It’s not unbearable though.
- Andrii (5/5): Nice Greenery Outside, Problems Inside - The property has a nicely maintained green area with a variety of plants, which adds visual appeal. There is also a small pond with ducks located right outside the window — a detail that makes the outdoor space more interesting. There were several issues that negatively affected our stay at the hotel. The mattress was extremely soft and very uncomfortable. It’s a shame to go on holiday and get poor sleep because of an unsuitable mattress. The bed was positioned so close to the door that my husband and I kept hitting our feet on its corner — over the five days, I ended up with three bruises on my legs. I would suggest trying to stay in the room yourself to see whether the layout needs to be changed.
When we checked in, we found the dishwashing sponges in terrible condition, which was also unpleasant. The hand and body wash were not in their original sealed cartridges. The wall-mounted dispenser was designed for branded refill packs, but instead of replacing the used cartridge with a new one, the host had cut it open and refilled it with a substance of unknown origin and composition. It’s just another example of how the apartment was filled with a bunch of unpleasant little details instead of the thoughtful, pleasant ones that make a stay enjoyable.
The tip of the bathroom faucet was clogged, so instead of flowing downward onto your hands, the water sprayed out to the sides even at low pressure. The kitchen knives were so dull that it was nearly impossible to cut even soft foods. As for the kitchen hood, I’m not sure whether it was functional — I spent about 15 minutes trying to find a switch or any way to turn it on, but without success. The bedroom heater was also out of order.
During our five-day stay, no one offered to clean the room. Finally, there is so much furniture in the living room that there’s barely any space left. I believe some pieces could be removed without compromising functionality, which would make the room feel much more spacious.
- Gabrielė (9/5): Superb -
- Jacques (8/5): Very good - BBQ not installed.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Silvia (8/5): Relaxed stay surrounded by nature - The position, surrounded by a calm and quiet garden, also if it is near the street and not so far for the centre of Villa Franca do Campo. No mosquito nets (necessary in the Azores if you want to cook or sleep with the windows opened).
- Nelia (8/5): Very good -
- Dori (7/5): Cute bungalows and nice stay - The bungalow is really pretty and comfortable, with all necessities. It's surrounded by nature, with nice flowers and plants, a cute dog and a friendly hen.
There is also a lot of privacy between bungalows, and I really felt safe and well there.
The location is also very good, 20-40 minutes away by car from most places in the East part of the island. Generally the place could be a bit cleaner, from the rooms to the reception and especially the laundry facility.
Some fixtures are starting to break down making the place looking a bit old and decadent.
I felt the hosts overlooked a bit the guests and their needs. It always took some time to have a reply from the manager and the request was not addressed promptly. Nevertheless, we had everything we needed eventually but I did feel a bit ignored.
Finally the check out was supposed to be between 10 and 12, but the manager kicked us out at 11 saying that the check out was at 10.30. She was also quite rude. She then disappeared and never replied to our messages.
- Colette (10/5): Exceptional - The Quinta is in an ideal location for exploring the island of Sao Miguel. Although directly on the main road the gated community feels like a haven in the countryside. The bungalows are well designed, spacious and offer privacy. It was a lovely spot to 'come home' to after a day exploring the island, especially the greeting from the little dog each evening. We received a warm welcome from our host on arrival and good communication before our stay.
- Tzvi (10/5): Great stay !!! - Bungalow was a hit Nothing
- Paul-gabriel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zak (7/5): Good -
- Ros (9/5): Great cabin, everything you need, lovely view but shame it’s so close to a busy road - It was private and really well appointed. The traffic noise from the road is unavoidable and you have to get in the car for everything as it’s out of town
- Jerome (9/5): Superb - The unit was very nice and as advertised. Host was very helpful. We only stayed one night but would have stayed longer if available. Kitchen well stocked, and outside grounds well maintained. Would stay again. A few repairs on the screens are needed to keep out moths. Overall great little unit
- Frank (5/5): Our stay and accommodations were not what we expected. - Location near a nice area of Island and was in nice nature setting. Chalet advertised as having ocean view but it was covered by trees etc. Plus, did not have air condition so it was not comfortable with high humidity and heat. Could not keep windows open because there are no screens.
- Natasha (9/5): Superb - We loved the location, very peaceful and the beautiful duck pond. It was very serene sitting out to breakfast watching the ducks. Staff super friendly and welcoming Nothing
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - This is great location, private space in huge garden. You will not see other guest due to garden design. Some time noise from street.
Few more think in kitchin equipment.
- Fawn (9/5): Superb - We (a couple with a 2-year-old child) stayed at Quinta dos Curubas for one week in May. The cabin is simply furnished (for example no dishwasher), but very clean. There was a baby bed arranged. We loved the portch to sit outside, with a view of Vila Franca do Campo. The gardens are very beautiful with lots of flowers. Our son loved to run after the chicken. It is a quiet place, very well located to discover the whole island (by car). We would very much recommend to stay here! Nothing
- Ronald (9/5): Lovely relaxing getaway location - Great spot to wind down and relax. The staff is amazingly helpful and very friendly.
The best though, is the little dog that roams the premises, sweetest thing ever :)
- Anastasiia (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place with great ocean views
Magnificent garden with different plants. Small household, in the mornings you could hear ducks and a rooster
Cute little dog who came to us every morning
The house is cozy, the kitchen had everything you need for homemade breakfasts
I'll try to come back here next year
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Diana (9/5): Cute bungalow but location was difficult to find and not near anything. - The bungalow was cute and roomy. Required driving to get to restaurants or see any sites. The flys! View was minimal. Difficult to find.
- Szymon (10/5): Exceptional - House was very clean. We felt so comfortable there. Huge garden in front of a house. Perfect place to have a rest!
- Antonio (10/5): Had a pleasant time at this quaint place. Really enjoyed Nicka the dog - Location animals.
- Michelle (6/5): Beautiful property but uncomfortable due to heat and noise. - We enjoyed being able to have our own individual cabins that were well appointed. We loved the visits from Nika the dog - she was so sweet! The property itself was lovely and the property manager was attentive and helpful. It was very hot and humid during our stay and the property did not have air conditioning. The surrounding hedges do not allow for air flow so we had no breeze for relief from the heat. They did find us some small fans but it was still hard to sleep or be comfortable with the humidity.
The other big detractor for us was the noise early early in the mornings from the ducks and roosters right outside our windows. We were awakened before 5am every morning by loud crowing and clucking. The ducks were fun to watch but just too noisy so early.
Also be aware that the upper cabins do not have ocean views despite being advertised as such.
- Rosalia (10/5): Exceptional - The dog
- Sá (8/5): Very good - I really don't have anything negative to say, I liked everything about it.
- Chantal (8/5): Great once we found it - I loved Nika the owner's dog as well as the ducks/ chickens that greeted us upon our arrival. The cabin was clean, well kept and spacious. When copying the address into various maps on our phones it did not take us to the location. We went to 3 different points on various maps trying to locate it. Our host tried to call our Canadian number and did not utilize the portal / email to send us check in information. Our only saving grace was that they had Whatsapp.
- Yelena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meirav (10/5): Beautiful and comfortable house - Feeling like home very comfortable close to the main road . Beautiful sea view. Nothing
- Annamaria (8/5): Very good -
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Angelia (10/5): 100% recommended - everything was amazing, comfortable and really felt like home!
extra recommended
- David (10/5): My personal little paradise - I loved that you get your own little house out in the country, but still 5 minutes away from a village with supermarkets and everything you need. The host was amazing too, as they offered to drive us to the supermarket on the first day, when we had not picked up our rented car yet.
- Burschi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sofia (10/5): Amazing ! - The house is beautiful and has all the amenities if not more than a 5 star hotel, extremely cozy and the view is beautiful from the room. Extremely peaceful and quiet, just gorgeous, highly recommended Nothing! everything was truly perfect
