• Helle (8/5): - Beliggenheden var fantastisk. Opvejede at værelse var indrettet i gammel stil og med ældre møbler- det passede bare fint til dette noble gamle hotel. Alt for mange turist busser, 6 stk fyldte med ret højlydte asiater, de fyldte noget i spisesalen. Vi tog det med et smil- og spiste morgenmad senere da de var kørt.
• Z190UKannan (4/5): Disappointing Food Quality During National Day Celebration - Yesterday we were at the Stalheim Hotel during the Norwegian National Day celebration. The setting and overall organization were good, but the food experience was disappointing. The traditional Norwegian dish served at the event was clearly undercooked, which was especially disappointing given that this was a traditional celebration. The texture and level of cooking were not appropriate and it gave the impression of a lack of care in the kitchen, particularly on such an important day for the hotel. A pity, because the place has potential, but this detail negatively affected the overall experience.

The hotel accepts lunch and drinks visitors 10-17.00 and we received a very warm welcome and excellent service. 120k for two hot chocolate drinks on the outside terrace with brilliant views on a warm sunny 10c May morning was an excellent break.

Alle de utlandske turistene som satt å spiste i spisesalen med ytterjakke, caps og lue - utrivelig. Dette er et hotel og ikke et gatekjøkken. Reiselederne må gi de beskjed og gjerne sett opp en hyggelig plakat.

• Donald (7/5): beautiful view, garden and great walking path if you ask, very dated room. - the views and location are amazing. good dinner (we had alacarte) and decent breakfast. the staff were friendly. the main lounge area is nice cozy on one side, but very "corporate meeting" looking on the other side. tiny but friendly bar/coffee area. nice restaurant. Looked like a good buffet although we chose to order off the menu. our room was one of the biggest/nicest available, with a balcony, but was weirdly chopped up with TOO MUCH and very dated old furniture. It could really could use a refresh.
• Deats (6/5): Stalheim Hotel - Stalheim Hotel offers an absolutely stunning and dramatic location—truly one of the most beautiful settings we’ve experienced. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the property features incredible hikes with unforgettable views. It’s a unique and memorable place to stay, with scenery that really sets it apart. Because the hotel is very remote, you really need a car to get there. The rooms feel like they haven’t been updated since the hotel first opened, which may not appeal to everyone. The restaurant food wasn’t particularly tasty, yet the isolated surroundings mean you’ll likely end up eating there. Even the “beginner” hikes seemed inaccurately categorized and were more challenging than expected.

• TheLeongOhana (6/5): Unpleasant Bathrooms - Our bus from Gudvangen to Voss stopped by the Stalheim Hotel to give the riders an opportunity to take in the views and use the restrooms. This review only covers the amenities accessible by us. The restrooms here were pretty awful smelling inside. Significant improvements needed. The views from the back of the hotel down into the Nærøydalen valley would've been nicer on a clear day. One could just make out the old winding road below us. Too bad as others have posted some beautiful photos on a clear day. We did a quick walk through of the hotel and found the decor was of an older style with a mixture of antique statues, furnishings and other items. A gift shop also sold drinks and snacks so it was good opportunity to grab a quick snack before continuing on the bus to Voss.
• meghansA3057XG (10/5): Amazing - Comfortable and quiet accommodation After a long walk, we arrived at this hotel and enjoyed an excellent dinner. When we woke up, a generous breakfast awaited us, both sweet and savory. The only downside was the gloomy and vulgar nature of the waiters, one of them a young woman, who had no plates available for yogurt or food. Only when we saw the chef were we heartened by his kindness and affability, and he served us milk and hot water with a smile and warmth. Astonished, we asked what country he was from, and he replied Italy. Well, at this point, we can confirm that wherever Italy is, there is hospitality and kindness. Thank you, Roberto
• Nick (7/5): Pleasant overnight stay - The View is absolutely stunning! This is an old mountain hotel with rooms needing a refresh & for the price you are paying 70% for the view, so make sure you get a mountain side room.

W ogóle hotel usytuowany w przepięknej okolicy. Bardzo miła obsługa, zwłaszcza w restauracji, gdzie mieliśmy okazję zjeść przepyszną kolację. Brawo dla kucharzy. Równie pyszne śniadanie. W hotelu bogate zbiory starych mebli, zastawy stołowej, stojących zegarów i wiele innych wartych obejrzenia eksponatów. Dostępny parking.

• Mari (7/5): Et stusselig bygg med en fantastisk beliggenhet - Beliggenheten er suveren, og samlingen av gamle hus i bakken ved siden var fascinerende og veldig gøy å vise fram til våre skotske venner som besøkte Norge for første gang. I tillegg er jo utsikten upåklagelig! Personalet var blide og hjelpsomme, men det kunne virke som de ikke hadde så mye erfaring eller hadde fått så mye opplæring... Maten holder ikke den standarden man forventer av et sted som dette. Gravlaksen liknet ikke på noen gravlaks jeg har spist før. Og jeg har spist mye gravlaks.... grønnsakene var ikke delikate og dessertene var litt merkelige - så måltidene var rett og slett en stor skuffelse. Og bygget i seg selv er en stor trist boks uten særpreg - styggere går det vel ikke an å få det. Og inne er det et sammensurium av butikk og museum - kunne med fordel vært gjort om på layout og innredning. Potensialet for forbedring er stort.

• Rudolf Zeller (7/5): Schönes Hotel mit bestem Service, leider mit Einzelzimmer mit schlechter Ausstattung. - Außergewöhnlich schöne Lage. Sehr freundliches Personal. Leider kein schöner Blick. Ich habe vermisst: bessere Zimmerbeleuchtung, Fernseher, Trinkglas, sichereres Türschloss, Kleiderhaken, Wasser-/Teekocher. Im Bad fehlende:Heizung, Luftabzug, Haken für Hand-/Badetuch. Wegen dieser Mängel Preis zu hoch.
• Lila (10/5): Jesteśmy zauroczeni tym miejscem ,bardzo polecamy. - Zupełnie wyjątkowo ,cudownie położony hotel .Tuż przy hotelu znajduje się skansen-muzeum dla gości hotelowych.Na zboczu góry jest zamknięta stara królewska droga ,która prowadzi do dwóch pięknych wodospadów.W hotelu znajduje się wiele eksponatów,dzieł ukazujących historyczny obraz hotelu i okolicy.Widok z pokoju na dolinę i góry wprost ooszałamiający.Stylowe meble ,wygodne łóżko ,bardzo dobre śniadania.Blisko do Flam ,Gudvangen i Aurdal. Jedyny minus .Jest to miejsce ,oblegane przez turystów przyjeżdżających masowo autokarami tylko w celu sfotografowania pięknych widoków.

Сам интерьер напоминает музей — старинная мебель, картины, антиквариат создают атмосферу прошлых столетий. Номера конечно тоже староватые, но сюда приезжаешь с другой целью, насладиться природой. Хороший сервис. Практически все говорят по русский. Ужин шведский стол 30€ с человека. Выбор потрясающий, все было очень вкусно. Завтраки скудные

Территория тоже очень красивая, как отдельная достопримечательность. Очень хороший ужин (много красной рыбы, креветок, раков, разных видов мяса) устаревшие номера требующие реновации

• David (6/5): - Localizacion perfecta y vistas impresionantes. Estaba limpio. Desembarcan hordas de personal de los cruceros. Si no formas parte, veras que no tienes un trato especial. De las 10 hasta tarde por la tarde, aunque ponga hasta las 17h, tendrás autobus detrás de autobus para ir a ver la vista. Considerando el precio del hotel, esto es discriminatorio para el que paga una fortuna por hospedarse para disfrutar de las instalaciones privadas como huésped y tomarse el té viendo la vista: de repente te llega gente con pocos modales (y no de 10 en 10 como pone en la recepcion). Muy disappointing la verdad. El restaurante tiene calidad, aunque es caro. Esta enfocado a grupos de gente...con poca consideración la verdad. El personal simpático, pero muy desordenados en el restaurante. Tampoco me trajeron la leche con lactosa que solicité y confirmaron.
• DesignsbySu (8/5): Overall for the price, cleanliness and quiet natural spot, you cannot beat the price in Noway! - The rooms were simple and clean, that was what we were looking for as we were spending more time outdoors. The view was unexpected from the lobby living room. It was massive and stunning. The buffet during breakfast was included and has all you need. Location was quiet and close enough to the attractions. This is a massive hotel and sometimes the tourist bus comes in with many people. They disappear pretty quickly too so you never feel engulfed. The pillows were terribly flat and blanket not warm enough for me. I did ask for more blankets and an extra pillow and the receptionist was very kind to bring them up to my room.
• Ahmet (7/5): Stunning location, but bring your own pillow! - The hotel’s location is absolutely stunning! It’s about a 30-minute coach ride from Flåm, which can be inconvenient for activities there, but the views more than make up for it. Perched at the top of a valley with two waterfalls below, it really feels special. A big thank you to Emilija at the front desk - her service was excellent and she’s a real asset to the hotel. On the downside, the pillows are so flat you might as well use your rucksack. The hotel is dated, but that adds to its charm, and the location outweighs any rough edges. Coach groups can be a bit overwhelming, but that’s to be expected here. The biggest issue was breakfast - early guests left the buffet area in chaos, which the staff should manage better. Dinner (both buffet and à la carte) was good, but quite pricey.

• Siegfried (4/5): Tolle Aussicht bei schlechtem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis - Die Lage/Aussicht Das Hotel zehrt aus seiner Ursprungszeit, wohl aus den 60ern, und von seiner besonderen Lage. Im Zimmer waren deutliche Abnutzungs- Gebrauchsspuren vorhanden. Nicht nur, dass alles im überholten Old-Stile ist, angeschlagene Fliesen, aufgequollene Spanplattensblagen, quitschende Türen. ... . Die E-Anlage auf dem Zimmer war ohne Schutzkontakt. Dicke Rohre der Springleranlage vermitteln ein unwohles Gefühl. Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich. Dagegen das Personal beim Frühstück, speziell eine weibliche Servicekraft, sehr unfreundlich. Diese war barsch im Ton und hat die ganze Zeit kein Lächeln über die Lippen gebracht. Bei dem Zimmerpreis hätten wir Anderes erwartet.

• Abhinaba (10/5): Iconic hotel in Stalheim. Perfect place to break your Oslo to Bergen Norway in a Nutshell journey and rest for a night. - Iconic hotel in Stalheim, with stunning views. We stayed one night to break our Oslo to Bergen Norway in a Nutshell trip, and it was a great decision. There are several hiking trails nearby with views of waterfalls. The a la carte menu for dinner was quite limited.
• NATASHA (10/5): Charming with spectacular views. - Charming, old fashioned, and full of character. The view was spectacular and it was very peaceful when the coaches left. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Complementary tea and coffee for guests in the lounge, which you can take outside to enjoy the view and fresh air. Well worth getting a room looking over the gorge. We slept with the curtains open to soak it all in. Really lovely buffet dinner and breakfast. So glad we stopped off for a night on our Norway in a nutshell tour - otherwise it would have just been a 15minute stop. Nothing! But we did avoid downstairs and outside when the coaches arrived (but they were quickly gone again).
• Fatih (8/5): - In terms of location, it is close to Flåm and is a nice hotel nestled among the mountains. It has a scenic and pleasant lobby seating area and a restaurant. There are walking trails around it. The rooms are old and in need of renovation.
• 851musical (2/5): Great view, but hotel not very good - Best thing is the splendid view overlooking the valley, simply amazing. However the negative aspects were quite bad. This hotel is really dated and is in desperate need of a refurb, absolutely old. Food wasn't brilliant, and wasn't restocked quick enough considering the amount of people they had crammed in there. All the tables were set for communal dining. It was really awful having to sit with people you don't know. The tables were also too close together making it difficult to get in and out. Staff seemed fed up and surly in the restaurant. Wouldn't stay here again.

• Danai (6/5): Amazing location and view, with interesting history throughout the years. - The location is astounding. Full stop. The facility is tired and has seen better days. The room has a heavy smell, because of humidity. Window shades not great. Breakfast was so and so with many things missing (eg orange juice). The staff was there, but indifferent. Crazily expensive for what it offers.

• Betty (10/5): Fabulous Location and ambience - This was the highlight of our trip- I’d go back here in a heartbeat anytime!! Lovely!! I would have liked the bistro to be open later - and one morning on our stay a tourist was screaming outside our window. I was sort of shocked that the terrace is open even at 6am to people and also that this lady had no common sense and was so loud.

• Andreas (5/5): Zehrt vom Glanz früherer Tage , aber immerhin toller Ausblick ins Tal - -Ein absolut wunderbarer Ausblick von der Terrasse ins Tal , tolle Lage des Hauses -Freundliches und bemühtes Personal -Kostenloser Kaffee für Hotelgäste -Kostenlose Parkplätze -Grundsätzlich keine Einzelzimmer mit Talblick verfügbar -Doppelzimmer zur Einzelnutzung extrem teuer -Sehr kleine äußerst spartanische Zimmer -Teilweise äußert dünne Personaldecke (eine einzige Mitarbeiterin im Frühstücksraum, die angesichts des Ansturms auf das Buffet leider auf völlig verlorenem Posten stand) . Eindecken , Abräumen, Tischtücher wechseln, „Betreuung“ des Buffets , ggf. den Boden reinigen Plätze zuweisen……das kann eine Person nicht alleine schaffen und das merkte man dem Frühstücksraum auch deutlich sn. -Unbefriedigendes Preis.Leistungsverhältnis -Selbstverständlichkeiten wie beispielsweise eine Toilettenbürste waren nicht auf dem Zimmer -Es wäre mal Zeit für eine grundlegende Renovierung
• Nora (5/5): Ausflug für die Aussicht lohnt sich, Übernachtung nicht - Nur die Lage und die Lobby im alten Teil des Hotels Hellhörig - man hört das Schnarchen im Nachbarzimmer und alle Badgeräusche von dort; kaputte Fliesen im Bad, einfachstes Mobiliar, alles sehr abgenutzt.

• Lou (8/5): - L'emplacement de l'hôtel est exceptionnel, une vue à couper le souffle. Le personnel est très agréable et serviable. L'hôtel est vieillissant et les équipements aussi. Le prix du restaurant le soir est trop excessif.
• Fabrizio (4/5): - The position and the view This is a very old and basic hotel, but really very expensive. We stayed 2 nights, we left the room the second day very early because we had to visit the area and, when we came back, the room was not done by the housekeeper. They did not understand how it happened. Breakfast is very basic, almost nothing sweet to eat except jam (2 types only) and Nutella like chocolate cream. Everything is old and needs to be renewed
