• Margaux (10/5): Casa rural où on se sent dans un musée - Casa rural qui ressemble à un musée. Calme absolu, nous étions seules dans la casa. Charme fou. Cuisine super équipée. Terrasse très agréable autour de la piscine avec chouette vue. Douche chaude bien assez longue. Je ne sais quoi dire.

Sehr simpel und rustikal, Zimmer sehr dunkel, warmes Wasser in der Dusche geht nur für 8 Minuten, dann muss man 15 Miniten warten bis es wieder warm wird, Dusche ist äußerst klein und es ist praktisch unmöglich nicht mit dem Duschvorhang ständig in Berührung zu kommen. Besitzer war nicht besonders freundlich.

• Monica (1/5): Beware: you may end up moved to a bad motel miles away instead... - Beware of getting sent to a horrible motel, in a town miles away, instead of staying here. Despite sending us a message an hour before we arrived, the hotel deliberately failed to mention that there was a problem with the room (we suspect that they'd overbooked), and we wouldn't be able to stay. Staff only speak Spanish - not usually an issue, unless they're shipping you off to another hotel, and you don't really know what's going on. Very poor that they didn't tell us in advance, and give us time to translate, assess, and have the option to cancel. The other hotel/motel was grim, and nothing like what we booked. Casa Rural Vera De La Hoya refused any kind of refund. All we saw of the hotel we booked was the awful road leading up to it.
• Peter (8/5): Charming old property with lots of character - Beautiful old property with sunny balcony and views. Had to cancel our original accommodations due to flight delay, so found this at the last minute and was close to airport for a 1:00 AM arrival. Wish we had time to enjoy the pool and scenery. A little hard to find the first time. Have to drive down a steep cobblestone drive, but easy after that.

Flexible and kind staff. Small room, ca. 10 qm room +ca. 10 qm bathroom+corridor instead of the advertised 30 qm. Thin walls among the neighbouring rooms, Only a few liters of hot water in the shower.

• Bernardo (8/5): Quiet getaway, amazing view, charming cottage - The view was amazing. Kitchen was handy and decently equipped. Access to different hiking routes. Located in a historical property. Owner is very friendly and supportive, gives you a lot of information on how to explore the area. The antique construction style is charming. Very quiet, great for escaping the other too touristic spots. Internet access was really annoying. The router would get stuck during the day. I'd have to roam around the property to find signal, given mobile data only reached 3G. The owner tried to help, but a real solution would be to equip the property with decent routers. Shouldn't cost a lot and would bring comfort for the guests to access internet from anywhere (including your own room). If this is fixed, I'd happily come back. Shower curtain could work better to avoid spilling. Shower water would go cold after a while.

• Sam (9/5): Superb - Beautiful place and area. Rooms were gorgeous, beds very comfortable. Lack of other English people. Close to nice villages and walks. Lack of an oven in the kitchen. No air con could be an issue in the hight of summer but not an issue at my time of year. The walls are a little thin.
• Nina (9/5): Superb - The house has a beautiful style and flair. It’s lovely renovated with the old stonewalls. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is coffee and tea in the morning. The terrace, garden and view is beautiful and it’s very quiet and peaceful. There is also a hikingtrail next to the house which lead up to a little peak and you get a great view! There are also enough parking spaces and the road is good. You need a car to get there and around, but you get a peaceful and quite housing in exchange;)

But a Great base to explore the island and has the advantage of self catering.- lovely kitchen, dining area and terrace with an excellent view. walks/runs on the doorstep. Mind that tenerife has varieties in elevation which can affect the weather patterns you will experience. However we found it was always possible to find the sun and Casa rural vera de la hoya is in a well balanced location

Well equipped commounal kitchen with several tables. Note: The address of no. 11 is not on the same roadside as other houses with uneven numbers, but on the opposite side down a narrow stone path just before no. 13 (when coming from the coast)
• Martin (8/5): Very good - Silent and its nice If you will do some hiking. Its wery clean and the wash lady was very good in the Job by cleaning every day It will be nice If there was some sharing wc when the was lady work on our room. (This is not bog thing)
• Zuzana (10/5): A beautiful place with a lot to offer - Casa Vera de la Hoya is a one-of-a-kind place. It reminded us of albergues for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, but with perfectly clean kitchen :) It is a true sanctuary for people seeking peace, beautiful localities, and friendly atmosphere. There is a shared kitchen with good equipment, a dining room, a large place to sit and chill around the swimming pool, and a big private parking. We only stayed there for two nights because of the proximity to Pico Viejo, but we would definitely like to spend some more time there just to relax and enjoy the place. The cost is quite high, considering we had a room without Wi-Fi and with a boiler too small for two people. Other than that, I can only think of negligible details. For example, neither of the trash bins in the kitchen were labelled, so neither of the guests actually knew what to put in which, making the sorting a bit pointless. It would be nice to see a bin for bio waste in a rural place like this.
