Guest Reviews
- Neville (6/5): - Nice and quiet The owner threatened me I couldn't stay at one stage because he couldn't get HIS payment machine to work properly
- Anastasia (9/5): Very good, quiet, cool attractions around such as Tropical Fruit Worrld, Beer Shed. - Location, hosts, facility. Everything is good, just one suggestion: think about putting a few outdoor tiles in the grassed pool area, so when it rains heavily the guests could walk on the tiles rather than on the wet grass.
- Jeanette (10/5): The owners were wonderful and their property is heaven on earth. I highly recommend people stay here as much as they can - Everything was wonderful. Lots of places to walk around a lot of space. It was so relaxing and tranquil. My dog and I absolutely loved š„° it. Absolutely Nothing.
- George (8/5): -
- Chantelle (8/5): -

- Renata (10/5): Fantastic pet-friendly, relaxing place - Beautiful location, lots of space for pets to run safely, a lovely room with a super comfortable bed, a huge shower and bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful pool, garden, and walks around the property. Very nice and quiet area, Kingscliff was only 10 minutes away by car for a bit of town experience, but easy to get back to relax and enjoy the nature. Super nice and helpful hosts. The best pet-friendly accommodation we have ever been to. Nothing to mention.
- Susan (10/5): - Peaceful and relaxing Bed hard

- Sue (10/5): The owners were so friendly and accommodating. Made you feel at home. - The tranquility of the resort and surroundings. The pool was beautiful, overlooking the valley. Nothing, all was good. š
- Cheryl (9/5): -
- Lynny (10/5): Beautiful location, great accommodation and wonderful hosts š - Peaceful and relaxing setting, fully equipped with everything we needed for a mini break, have been before and would come again! Hosts were friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable holiday.
- Leon (10/5): - Relaxing and quiet NA
- Natashia (8/5): -

- Madsen (8/5): - Peaceful and quiet. View is spectacular
- Stephen (9/5): - Hosts were very helpful with our booking. The property is very well maintained and an excellent retreat location.
- Giulia (10/5): Beautiful nature stay - We spent two nights here with our dog Xena and truly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was comfortable, spotless, and welcoming. What we loved most were the beautiful surroundings, with lush greenery and trees all around, and of course the stunning view over the ocean
- Kyle (9/5): Our dogs were in Wonderland at this place and we definitely plan on returning at least once a year from now on. Awesome - It was manicured, clean and majestic Nothing
- Dan (10/5): Great stay - Love the facility and environment although I did not have a chance to walk around.
- JARIL (5/5): A caravan. - Tropical feel on property. Good if you want your dog to run off leash Concrete blocks to step into caravan. Very poor utensils and crockery. A bbq or stove top would be useful.
- Helen (8/5): - Beautiful tranquil place, with lovely rural views.
It was perfect to relax after wedding celebrations. All good.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Wish I could move my caravan there and stay. š¤£š¤£š¤£ - It was beautiful, peaceful and just what my dog and I needed.
My Ruby enjoyed playing with Rick every day and was free to roam around. There wasnāt anything to dislike.
- karen (10/5): Great pet friendly place to stay, relax and unwind and admire the beauty of the Tweed Coast - This is my 3rd stay there with family and my dog Darcy (Aussie Cattle Dog) Every time has been a little different but its a great place to escape the rest of the world for a moment and just be at peace in this fabulous rambling country landscape. Rick is non stop keeping the place looking its absolute best. Lovely tropical gardens surrounded by native trees and view that looks out to the Pacific Ocean that is just so peaceful and relaxing. Darcy is a frisbee freak and Rick was always happy to toss the frisbee whenever Darcy was out and about roaming freely around the property. The rooms are always clean and tidy and comfortable. Take your own supplies and just spend time away from the rest of the world. Less than 10 mins to Kingscliff where you can indulge at any one of a number of excellent cafes and restaurants before going for a walk on the beach. It not only has 3 motel style suites, there are 2 caravans that have been retro fitted for extra rooms. The resort is limited to adult guests which makes for a quiet time for those of us who have pets not kids. Sunsets and Sunrises are spectacular. Rick and Veronica live on site and are always happy to take care of any your needs, most of the time you don't even know they are there. Its not so much what I like about the place but its a place I love to stay.
- Gary (10/5): - Beautiful scenery, Clean ,comfortable and owners were great . Nothing
- Jegar (10/5): Exceptional - This place is fantastic
- Alyce (10/5): Beautiful views, peaceful location and perfect for pets - Had an amazing stay, loved that itās pet friendly and off leash. Beautiful property to walk around and explore.
- Kylie (10/5): The room was very clean and tidy, the views are wonderful, the owners were very helpful and friendly - The owners were really friendly and very helpful.
- Patricia (9/5): Wonderful for humans and pets! - I needed a holiday but I worried about my dog. The owners were exceptionally kind and gracious. My dog loved it, walking around the property, sunbathing and barking at birds. I finally could relax. The room had a common wall which was thin- I could hear the guests next door and vice versa. The only negativeā¦.
- Linda (7/5): The Dogs had a ball - It is a beautiful place Nothing
- Jo (8/5): Very good - Lovely property and perfect for the dog.
- Roberta (10/5): It was a perfect stay for a relaxing weekend and the property is also close to Fruit World and only a 15 - 20 min drive - It is a beautiful large and tranquil property with plenty of space to relax but there are also amenities such as a pool, sauna and a BBQ. The units are spacious and very clean. Nothing to mention here. It was great.
- Curtis (7/5): Enjoyable property but van accommodation will not suit most people. - Beautiful setting and views and walkable. Well kept. Overall a peaceful, secluded week which, overall I enjoyed. Bed was comfortable. Owners were not good communicators. No instructions verbal or written on use of the facility and no communication during my stay. The TV was virtually unusable and wifi was only available if you sat in your car close to the source. Bathroom Inc. toilet was detached but grass was pleasant to walk on and it was well lit. Cooking facility was very old, outside and modest but worked okay. Lighting inside van was too dark for my eyesight but probably would be okay for others.
- Deonie (8/5): Very comfortable & so nice to be able to have our doggies with us. - Beautiful quiet location in a farm setting, lush green grass & lovely mountain views. We liked everything
- Brad (8/5): Very good - We loved the privacy and the quietness. Our dogs enjoyed the open space to have a run and play! Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful and we were very comfortable. We wished we could have stayed longer!! Hopefully next time!
- Chris (9/5): Great escape for those who have camped or caravanned. - Loved the beauty and tranquillity. The thoughtful touches that invited you to sit in and walk the gardens , enjoying the spectacular views. Loved the swing bench under a giant tree.
The accommodation was an old but nicely renovated caravan which was placed in a lovely spot that afforded us lgreat views. A nice sized enclosure was perfect for our spoodle (who could not come but will next time).
The ensuite was a short, well lit, walk. A short drive to Murwillumbah or Tweed Heads and an even shorter drive to Kingscliff.
All in all, a most relaxing time.
While there were a couple of magnificent luxury units next to the beautiful pool we chose the more rustic option. Nothing to dislike .
- Simon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samia (10/5): Exceptional - What an amazing spot! So peaceful and relaxing.
- Helen (9/5): A Tranquil Retreat Close to Home - We come to Tropical Coast Retreat every year as a friend group, with our dogs, and it never disappoints. The units are well appointed with everything you need for a short stay. The units are clean and in excellent repair. The hosts Rick & Veronica are always available to help, if needed, and are very friendly and accommodating. The pool is the absolute best! Nothing to not like.
- Salvatore (9/5): Superb -
- Michel (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning grounds and tranquillity
- MachƩl (10/5): Breathtaking tranquillity! - What a wonderful surprise, from the time we drove up to the house. We were met by Rick. So friendly and helpful. He showed us to our cottage and then around the place. Wow, breathtaking!! We were surrounded by beautiful landscapes and piece and quiet, perfect for the soul. I have NO complains!
- Kama (7/5): Read the fine print for the extra charges - The location is fantastic. Rick was friendly and great with our dogs. Walking around with the animals and the views were amazing. Being out in the piece and quiet......
Lots of little things have been thought of like a mozzie coil and lighter, paper towel, toiletries, welcome book with lots of local information and even a massage mat on the chair. That our room was connected to another and we could hear them and the dogs could hear and smell the dogs on the other side.
So much space but the rooms are on top of each other.
That for 2 days Rick was on the ride-on mower destroying the piece we had come to enjoy.
There were many wasps and wasp nests around, including on our room which was a great concern to us as my partner is allergic.
Really DID NOT like the fact that if you wanted to turn the bubbles on in the spa or use the sauna it would cost you an extra $20 each!
- Tamika_aus (10/5): Perfect perfect perfect! - We loved how peaceful it was. It was blissfully quiet. We loved the pool and dam especially! It was neat, quiet and all you need! We especially appreciated being able to bring our pets! Rick maintains the property immaculately. You can see just how much effort he puts into cutting the grass! The location is perfect, you are so close to so many surf spots, the gold coast and cafes yet you feel like you're in the middle of the country. Nothing, it was perfect
- Amanda (10/5): Highly recommend - Lovely property to stay at, Peaceful location, clean facilities and nice swimming pool with a stunning view N/A
- Margaret (8/5): Beautiful and peaceful - Beautiful grounds and very peaceful. Very difficult to access amenities on wet, sloping grass and rain. The internet was unreliable.
- Bruce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bromhead (8/5): Very good - The tranquillity The rain
- Michelle (9/5): Relaxing, beautiful getaway that I highly recommend. - Beautiful, serene and private location. Gorgeous green views and large acreage that my pooch could run around on. Very relaxing getaway. Pool temperature was perfect. The tv antenna kept losing reception, but it didnāt bother us too much as we didnāt go there to watch tv; however unable to watch the Boxing Day test match! The pool was full of leaves but it didnāt really bother us and we still swam in it!
- Donna (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (8/5): comfortable, peaceful private - Surroundings, views and ambience of the site The outdoor seating and table could be better stabilised or area leveled but only a minor issue
- Debra (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely time!
- Colin (10/5): Peaceful location. Everything catered for. - Private and great facilities Nothing. As all lovely
- David (8/5): Great place to relax, have a brake, stok up on fresh produce, if youāre travelling - Great location with nice sea breeze, the fresh fruit and vegetables are amazing, and beautiful fresh water, eco friendly and lots of room for dogs to have a run,
- Catherine (9/5): Perfect relaxation and more relaxation - Tropical Costal Retreat is the perfect getaway for serious R and R. My precious hound and I loved it. Nothing
- Richard (8/5): Pleasant rural location. - Great location. The shower rose had painful jets of water coming out of it.
- Cheryl (7/5): excellent time, we would defiantly return in the future. - The accommodation was on acreage but still near enough to Kingscliff for the restaurants and beach. The fact that there were only 3 units was great, it made it very private. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. We were able to take two dogs which was great. The pool was clean and inviting. the folder with information on the area and attractions had things dating back to 2004 (-: could be updated.
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (10/5): A great place to rest and reset, and we got to bring our dogs who went for runs on the golf course ⤠-
- Danielle (9/5): Great spot for a quick, cheap holiday for adults wanting some quiet time. - Good location, nice and quiet. Nice temperature in the pool. Room to cook meals and do washing. About 20 minutes drive to either kingscliff or cabarita beaches. Staff are on site and absolutely lovely. Great views walking around the property, cows and horses can be seen from the perimeter. Roads travelling up here from the highway are pretty rudimentary. Not a good location for foreign tourists or people unfamiliar with the Tweed coast/ northern rivers.
- Suzanne (10/5): An excellent retreat for the ultimate get away experience - The location, seclusion, tranquillity and accessibility to a well maintained natural environment is beyond comparison. This property along with the hospitality and dedication of the owners is without question one of the best retreats you could wish for. Especially for relaxation and rejuvenation. Surrounded by beauty one would have to dig deeply to find any negatives about this property.
- Michael (5/5): OK stay. Lovely location. Very old basic accommodation. - The beautiful rural setting and extensive grounds. The caravan was as old as it gets. Had most facilities, but very cramped and the private bathroom was 30 meters away down a poorly lit grassy slope which when raining in the night was somewhat precarious and wet.
The Booking.com description is somewhat misleading giving a far more luxurious feel to the accommodation. No pictures of the caravan. Lots of pictures of dogs??? The proprietors did give us the option of cancelling but once there it would have been a hassle to find an alternative. Once used to the accommodation level the setting made it an overall OK stay.
- Karley (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (7/5): Good -
- Nicole (10/5): Amazing property - very relaxing, totally dog friendly and the scenery was stunning. - Fabulous property ... amazing gardens and scenery. I was in the first caravan which had a lovely enclosed shady yard with gazebo +chairs / table. Total privacy. The caravan is vintage but has everything you need and the bed was very comfy. Loved that the dogs (2 x dachshunds) could be contained in the small yard (very handy when you went to the bathroom which is about 10m away). The bathroom was very clean with shower, WC , handbasin, and towels. I saw inside the cabins when I arrived (as Veronica gave me a tour of the property and the other guests hadn't come yet). The cabins are modern with fenced in patios for the dogs but to be honest, the caravan had much more privacy and the enclosed yard with grass was perfect. So I would book the caravan again over a cabin (even with the walk to the bathroom!). The swimming pool was lovely. But my most favourite like of the property is that you could take the dogs off leash and walk around everywhere. The dogs just loved it. The owners Rick and Veronica were very helpful and are obviously dog people. I never knew the Tweed Hinterland was so stunning and will definately be back for a return visit. Nothing. Absolutely nothing - I wish I could've stayed longer than 2 nights.
- Margaret (8/5): Very good -
- Eugene (10/5): A beautiful retreat to enjoy with your dog. - Beautiful location with great landscaping and spectacular views. The lawn was in great condition and perfect for the dog to run around on. Each room had a secure fence/enclosure for the dogs. Dogs are free to roam off leash, the grounds are well maintained and fenced to ensure their safety.
- Whitmore (10/5): Exceptional - This place is a eye opener I would go back for sure lovely views beautiful property lovely owners 100%guarantee ā¤ļøš
- Philip (8/5): Very good -
- Bruce (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. - The shower and toilet were modern and spotlessly clean.
It was pleasant to awaken to the sound of birds, instead of the roar of passing traffic. No complaints at all!
- Anel (10/5): Want to get away with your furbabies and enjoy nature with epic views? Boom, this is it! - The views are to die for!!! Rick was an amazing host! Perfect blend of make you feel welcome and let you be. The bed was so comfy... but not too soft, I didn't want to leave. Everything was catered for, even things you didn't think of before arriving. We stayed in one of the caravans and absolutely loved it! I didn't bring my dog with but will definitely next time. We only stayed 2 nights but feel longer is necessary to really enjoy it. The exclusive bathroom was exceptionally clean and well stocked. Nothing!
- Ed (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Host was great .location fabulious .would book an appartment next time however - Stayed in caravan .only caravan available Caravan . They have excellent appartments but they were booked
- Sherree (10/5): Conveniently located near Plantation House where we attended a function. - A clean well maintained unit in an idyllic location. Very accommodating hosts. The weather.
- Brad (8/5): Very good -
- Eva (9/5): We had a very lovely stay - the location was exceptional, the facilities impeccable. We enjoyed staying there.
- Karen (9/5): Tranquil getaway - The location is awesome the dog friendly atmosphere helped me relax. Its not far from cafes and the beach but it was just fab to stay put. We celebrated a couple of birthdays so it was nice to make lunch there. I made sure I checked first as a courtesy. Also let the owners know if you plan to use the heated spa as you will need to pay extra. Its quiet and the countryside is quite lovely. The hosts are lovely you hardly see them but they live on site and are very obliging if you need something. Will go back again sometime. Absolutely nothing. Felt very much at home
- Kylie (10/5): WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!! Super friendly hosts - we loved everything about our stay and would recommend if you have a puppy, go for it!! Our dog LOVED it. Only a small thing, the couch was not comfortable & with nowhere else to sit inside and cold out at night, a tiny thing.
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb -
- Patterson (9/5): Superb - Owners were helpful and cheerful, the grounds were delightful and well kept, the peace and quiet refreshing even the bird calls were a constant treat. All in all a great place to stay
- Jeanne (10/5): Paradise on Earth. - The place is magic, peaceful, pet friendly and I mean pet friendly, the owner Rick loves dogs.
Even without a pet I would recommend.
The units are well equipped, the bed comfy.
I have re-booked a stay for one week next November.
Rick is very helpful, i got myself into a pickle with my car and his help was very forthcoming. No drama or judgement.
10 out of 10 for everything.
. Absolutely nothing.
