• fred (10/5): wonderful stay - home from home . we had a lovely stay and staff were so friendly. didn't like the number of steps up to the hotel but there was a stair lift waiting for repair so it would have been okay. such a beautiful view and close to the port the ferry and places to eat and shop the steps

We can’t recommend this hotel enough Marina and Spiros are wonderful hosts and can’t do enough for you. We feel we have made friends for life and will definitely return here.

Beautiful family run hotel, they went over & beyond in the care shown to us. Very clean, pool bar lovely addition. Plenty of information, advice & help given on the island of IOS. Housekeeping every day, fresh towels & bed linen. 5 minute walk to bus, restaurant, supermarket & 10 minutes to beach. Highly recommend. Nothing

Marina and Spiros were the best hosts, we arrived without luggage and the help and attention we got were above and beyond. Our room was great, so clean and comfortable, the views from the balcony were fabulous from watching the busy port to the lovely sunsets. Highly recommended and i will be back again. Nothing

• Sebastian (10/5): If you are coming to Ios, stay here! - This was the best place I stayed in my travels around Greece. The location is perfect for any kind of traveller, whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday, an adventure or a party. The location is quiet but well situated near the main town and the port. Plus there is excellent and cheap transport to all of the best places in Ios nearby. Facilities are amazing and the rooms are spacious and clean. Mariana was so friendly and made me feel very welcome. Plus I really enjoyed the local delicacy she gave me when I checked out.

• Guest (10/5): We had an amazing stay at Poisedon hotel, we felt a home the moment we arrived and were welcomed like family by Mariana - The property was in an incredible location. Was within 5 mins from the port and our balcony had an incredible view that overlooked the port. The room was always clean when we came back and the hotel has a lovely pool which we used a lot with the hotel bar right beside it. The hotel was close to the local grocery store, loads of amazing restaurants and if you needed it car or bike rental services, and was within a 10 minute walk from Yialos beach. Honestly we were so happy with the room and the hotel and can’t say there was anything we didn’t like about the property.

Fin dal primo momento ci ha fatti sentire come a casa, prendendosi cura di noi con una gentilezza rara. Un giorno ci ha fatto trovare in camera dei biscotti preparati da lei, e al momento della partenza ci ha regalato dei dolcetti fatti con le sue mani, un gesto che ci ha commossi. Marina ci ha aiutati in tutto: dall’organizzazione dell’itinerario ai piccoli consigli per vivere l’isola al meglio. Parla anche italiano, cosa che ha reso tutto ancora più semplice e familiare. La stanza era bellissima e confortevole e la struttura dell’hotel è davvero incantevole. Ma ciò che rende questo posto unico è l’anima che Marina e la sua famiglia ci mettono a gestirlo nel migliore dei modi. Per noi non è stato solo un soggiorno, ma un ricordo prezioso che porteremo sempre nel cuore. Grazie ancora❤️

• Michael (10/5): Great Ios stay - Marina and Spiros were lovely, they made our stay extremely enjoyable going above and beyond to accommodate us. The rooms were also very clean, comfortable and the pool area was really nice too with a great bar. The port is a peaceful place with the hotel a stones throw away, the bus into town was just down the hill and no stress to get to. Definitely a place worth staying.

• Carlo Matto (9/5): - Più di tutto la gentilezza di Marina che parla ottimamente l' italiano e di tutto il suo staff, bellissimi gli spazi esterni in comune, compresa chiaramente l' area piscina con veduta sul porto di Ios, stanze essenziali e pulitissime. Arredamento un po retrò, ma Ios è un isola talmente bella che va vissuta dalla mattina alla sera, per cui la camera serve solo per andare il dormire quindi l' arredamento è un elemento trascurabile. A due passi dalla struttura che si trova in zona porto ci sono tutti i servizi essenziali, un ottimo forno e buoni ristoranti. Per raggiungere la struttura occorre fare una scalinata. Torneremo Nulla
• Danni (1/5): Terrible experience do not recommend - I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I’ve been coming to Ios for 5 years and this is the worst hotel experience I have had. The rooms are not clean there were stains on the sheets and ants in the bed when I woke up in the morning. I stayed here for one night even though I had booked 6 because I was so unhappy. I was refused a refund and while I was offered another room I was so unhappy I just wanted to leave. Upon letting them know about what had happened I was asked if I was unhappy because I was there alone which hurt my feelings even more. If you come to Ios, there are much better options for hotels

Nous avons été très bien accueillis ...On s'est tout de suite sentis "comme à la maison". Les adorables propriétaires ont pris le temps de nous expliquer avec une carte le meilleur d'Ios . Toujours très dévoués à notre confort ! Tout était parfait : les chambres très propres et confortables ,la piscine avec son bar est un vrai bonus . Quant à l'hôtel, au calme ,est proche de tout pour passer des excellentes vacances : l'arrivée des ferries ,supermarché, location de voiture quads..laverie ,restaurants locaux excellents et bus à prix modeste pour se rendre au village ou aux plages plus éloignées si besoin... sinon à pied la plage la plus proche est à 15 minutes et Le village à 25 minutes. Enfin nous avons même pu patienter en attendant notre ferry autour de la piscine et laisser nos bagages à la réception. Encore un grand MERCI🙏 à Marina et son mari et leur fils pour leur accueil et leur gentillesse 💝 Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel. Rien ...tout était super 😁😀

• Michael (9/5): The adage Location Location Location, amazing hospitality from Marina and her team, and great facilities that made my s - ⸻ I stayed at Hotel Poseidon in Ios recently, and honestly, it blew me away. From the second I arrived, Marina and the team were so friendly — they made me feel like I was staying with family. They were always happy to help, whether it was giving tips on the best beaches, helping with transport, or just saying hi with a big smile every morning. The location is perfect — super close to the port and with amazing views over the harbour. My room was bright, clean, and comfy, and I loved having a balcony to chill on with my morning coffee. The pool was definitely one of my favourite parts — it’s peaceful, spotless, and there are loads of loungers, which is ideal for relaxing after exploring the island. What really stood out for me was how welcoming everyone was and how good the value is. It’s such a comfortable, easy place to stay, and it made my trip to Ios so much better. If you’re looking for somewhere that’s friendly, well-located, and has everything you need, I can’t recommend Hotel Poseidon enough. I’ll 100% be back!

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear this wasn’t just a hotel – it was like the owners were extending their home for you. This is a truly family-run hotel in every sense of the word, and the warmth, kindness, and care from the owners is unlike anything I’ve experienced in all my years of travelling. They genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. We had booked our stay very last minute and arrived far earlier than check-in because of our ferry, yet they immediately went above and beyond to prepare our room early. Not only that, but they surprised us with beautiful flowers and homemade biscuits to celebrate our honeymoon – such thoughtful, personal touches that meant the world to us. The hotel itself is spotless – our room was bright, airy, and perfectly clean, with everything we needed. The location couldn’t be more convenient: right next to the port, surrounded by great restaurants, and only moments from the bus stop, making it so easy to get to Chora or explore the rest of the island. Halfway through our stay, I fell unwell, and their kindness reached a whole new level. They checked in on me, made sure I was comfortable, and did everything they could to help me feel better – small gestures that spoke volumes about the sort of people they are. Then, when bad weather meant our ferry off the island was cancelled, they instantly reassured us and let us stay another night, removing all the stress from what could have been a difficult situation. In a world where so many hotels feel impersonal, Hotel Poseidon is the most wonderful reminder of what hospitality should be – genuine, heartfelt, and full of care. We left feeling like we’d stayed with friends, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you’re visiting Ios, do yourself a favour and book here. Nothing - everything was perfect.

• Clément (10/5): - L’hotel Poséidon est extrêmement bien placé proche du port accessible à pied depuis ferry, et juste à côté de la station de bus pour rejoindre le centre-ville. Le soir au retour du centre-ville on peut descendre à pied. En même pas 10 minutes on est à l’hôtel. Parfait compromis entre tranquillité et emplacement. Une très belle plage est située à six minutes à pied de l’hôtel, l’eau est clair et il n’y a pas de rocher les prix sont abordables. C’est parfait pour se baigner. Il y a plusieurs très bons restaurants à proximité immédiate de l’hôtel 2-3 minutes à pied. Notamment le Enigma et le Itaka. Côté aménagement, l’hôtel possède une belle piscine avec un bar au bord de la piscine. Ce qui est parfait pour se rafraîchir. L’hôtel est tenu par Spyro et Marina qui ont été d’une très grande hospitalité. Au-delà de leur conseils très pertinents, ils ont su être arrangeant, compte tenu de nos contraintes horaires. En somme, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Je recommande fortement pour des couples ou entre amis.

Hotellet ligger ved havnen, kun få minutter fra restauranter og supermarked. Vores værelse lå på øverste etage, og udsigten over både Chora og havnen var helt fantastisk. Vi vil helt klart anbefale Poseidon Hotel! Ingenting

As soon as I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the lovely staff, who were always smiling and attentive. My heart goes out to Marina, who made my stay even more special with her kindness and professionalism. She's just incredible! The hotel's impeccable cleanliness is extremely appreciated. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The location is ideal, making it easy to enjoy the surrounding area, while at the same time offering a peaceful atmosphere. Every morning, waking up to such a beautiful landscape is pure bliss. The pool is also a real asset: spacious, clean and a great place to cool off or relax in the sun. Everything was absolutely perfect, from the service to the ambiance to the facilities. Hotel Poseidon is an address I can wholeheartedly recommend for an unforgettable vacation in Greece. • Tracey (10/5): Perfect place to explore Ios. - The Posiden Hotel was a perfect place to stay. It is right next to the ferry port. The bus into the chora is very close as well. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great recommendations for hotels and things to do while we were there. The swim up bar was a great treat on a very hot day. We were lucky enough to receive homemade cakes and biscuits.

She even went out of her way to drop us backed cakes and biscuits. This port is a great location if you’re getting the ferry. Not wheelchair/disabilty friendly. If you want to go into the main part where all shops are it’s about a 30ish minute walk or you’ll have to get a bike. Shower was small

• Clive (9/5): Perfect traditional quiet Island Stay - This place is spotless, new Towels and bedding everyday, room had quiet a/c comfy bed, and plenty of hot water from the shower, pool was warm and clean and the swim up bar manned from 10 am every day. Hotel is close to port area, but quiet, close to bars, bakery and restaurants, nearest beach 200 , There is a climb up some steps to the Hotel but this is an Island and IOS is hilly, its proximity to the centre outweighs having to walk anpy distance home
• M (8/5): - El hotel se encuentra cerca del puerto, desde el que se llega rápidamente caminando y subiendo unas escaleras. Al centro de la isla se puede llegar en bus en 5 min o caminando en 20 min. A las playas más típicas también se llega con facilidad mediante un autobús que sale desde el puerto. El personal del hotel fue muy amable indicándonos cómo movernos por la isla y recomendándonos sitios para comer. Además, uno de los días nos dejaron un desayuno en la habitación.

• Thosman (9/5): Family Run Jewel in the Port of Ios - Hotel is located at the Port visible from when you leave the Ferry so no need for transport. On arrival our host Marianna was very friendly and welcoming, it is a family run hotel where the staff could do no more for you. When we arrived a couple were arriving at the same time and they come back to this place every year for a week. The Pool was glorious and the poolside bar with bar stools in the pool were a lovely touch. We didn't use the games room which is beside the pool and there are plenty of restaurants and bars around the port catering for many different cuisines. The local bus service every twenty minutes went to the the main town of Ios and another beach the far side of the island. (€2 a trip) The steps were about the only negative but to be fair the property does state that on the site. It does have a disabled stair lift and staff helped with carrying bags around the hotel including from the bottom steps. The bathroom was small and maybe converting it to a full wet room might be a better solution.

We had a terrace with a beautiful view of the port of Ios. The equipment is functional and the room was very clean. The staff was very attentive to us, we appreciated the little pastries before our departure. We will definitely stay there again if we return to the island of Ios.

The hotel is accessible by a long set of stairs at the street level (which I liked) so certain people may find it difficult to climb.

• Martino (10/5): È stato il posto perfetto per passare una settimana divertente e rilassante. Molto di piú di un semplice Hotel grazie a - L’hotel è molto bello, situato vicinissimo al porto e all’arrivo dei traghetti. Nonostante questo è molto silenzioso. Lo staff è stato fantastico. La titolare Marina è gentilissima e mi ha fatto sentire a casa dal primo momento, anche perchè parla Italiano perfettamente. Mi ha dato ottimi consigli e ha reso il mio viaggio a Ios perfetto! La piscina è molto bella e ha un bar ad affaccio perfetto per un aperitivo o una colazione piacevole. Tornerò sicuramente al Poseidon Hotel ogni volta che sarò a Ios! Grazie!
• Bascougnano (10/5): Ravie de mon séjour à l'hotel Poséidon. Je le conseillerai assurément! - Hotel à l'ambiance familiale. Tout le personnel est aimable, toujours soucieux de notre bien-être. Cet hotel à l'architecture typique des Cyclades est très bien situé, juste au dessus du port. Et il a , de plus, une piscine! Aucune remarque négative.
• SARAH (10/5): Hôtel idéalement placé - J’ai passé un excellent séjour au Poseidon. Cet hôtel est idéalement placé pour visiter Ios facilement tout en profitant du calme du petit port. Les chambres, au style grec, sont très propres et lumineuses. Enfin, les hôtes sont adorables et toujours prêts à rendre service.
• Helene (9/5): Une bonne adresse pour profiter d’Ios. - Très bien placé, proche du port, des restaurants et aussi des bus pour aller à Chora. Et calme. Une très belle vue et une équipe sympa. Le grand escalier d’accès.! Mais cela fait du sport !
