• Rob (10/5): Aanrader voor wintersport met de lift voor de deur met ruime parkeerplaatst en heerlijk eten. - Zeer mooi hotel met heerlijk ontbijt en diner. Het hotel is echt ski in/ ski out echt een aanrader voor de wintersport. Eigelijk viel niks tegen alleen dat het in het hotel heel warm is maar het binnenzwembad zorgt voor de verkoeling met uitzicht op de piste.

The cleaning staff removed the old towels but did not replace new ones and we had to call again to get towels. The jacuzzi in the spa area has too hot water and was impossible to use.

Spraken goed Engels! Hygiene was perfect! Ski locks beneden waren perfect. Kortom onwijs fijn! Personeelstekort was te merken in snackbar en restaurant. Had liever een keer extra lopend buffet gehad met avondeten, maar dat is eigen voorkeur! Wij hadden een iets verouderde kamer als je kijkt naar prijs/kwaliteit verhouding!

• Theo (7/5): War völlig in Ordnung aufgrund der Lage. - Die Lage ist wirklich super. Der Skiverleih ist direkt mit dran, auch sehr gut. Die Sauna, sowie der Pool waren wirklich fantastisch. Kann ich nur empfehlen für einen Skiurlaub. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist für ein 4 Sterne Hotel wirklich sehr Mager. Das gleiche gilt auch für das Hotel Abendessen. Sehr durchwachsen und deutlich verbesserungswürdig. Ebenfalls hat mich gestört, dass das Personal kein Deutsch spricht in einem österreichischen Hotel.

We organized our own transfers (Bus 260 from Salzburg airport (2 hrs, 15 euros each), train IR723 back to Salzburg train station (1.5 hrs, free as you get a mobile travel pass in Salzburg for your stay)). Food excellent. Great international breakfast & high quality dinner. Impressed with the quality of service. Very friendly & efficient staff. Room was very continental, 2 soft pushed-together single beds and a bit basic, but clean as expected.
• Nomad48164087047 (10/5): Second stay just as perfect – feels like coming home to Zell am See, with staff who remember you! - This was our second stay at VAYA Zell am See, and once again it couldn’t have been better. As a family who comes back to Schmittenhöhe every year for snowboarding trips, consistency really matters to us – and VAYA delivered again. The staff are genuinely warm and attentive. Reception were always friendly and helpful, and in the restaurant we were looked after wonderfully by Marius, who even remembered us from last year – such a lovely personal touch that made us feel very welcome. Our Grand Deluxe room with a front-facing balcony was modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The beds were excellent after long days on the mountain, and the shower was fantastic – exactly what you need after riding Panorama and the Schmittenhöhe slopes. Having your own table reserved for the whole stay is also a brilliant idea and makes dinners very relaxed. The ski lockers are great, and the location is perfect – just metres from the three lifts that take you straight to Panorama or up to the top of Schmittenhöhe. For snowboarders like us, that convenience is priceless. The only small suggestion would be to consider adding a simple children’s buffet. Our daughter is sometimes a bit fussy, and with only one plated option per day for kids it was occasionally hard to find something she liked. A small buffet with basics would make an already fantastic stay even better for families. Overall, we loved our stay again and will happily return next season. Thank you to the whole team at VAYA Zell am See for making our trips so memorable.

• Václav (4/5): Felt like an overpriced, generic hotel, I didn't feel like I was in Austria. - The staff were always nice, everywhere was clean and proper, the view of the mountains and the ski slope was awesome. Modern styling is plain and un-Austrian. There was a completely empty white wall with just a tiny TV on it. I understand you're trying to save space, but even some wallpapering would help significantly. Parking in the hillside can get very slippery to the point where I'd actually be very worried to scratch a car next to me - if it wasn't explicitly paid it wouldn't feel as bad. The lounge bar doesn't serve any kind of snacks, the lady could at least have a soup there. If for any reason you get to the hotel early and get hungry, the wait for dinner can be really unpleasant. The water at the pool entrance needs more care, it happened there were glasses missing
• AndyCherryUK (10/5): Excellent hotel in great location with all that you could want as ski in / ski out. Not luxury but perfect for skiing. - The hotel is in an excellent location for the slopes, easy walk / ski to 2 main lifts and avoids the really busy lift in Zell am See itself (especially during half term). Unfortunately the ski in / ski out blue was closed when we were there but still a red and 2 blacks accessible. We went with a package that meant collecting ski gear from town (doh!) so make sure you get it from the collection actually in the hotel, where there are excellent ski lockers and easy access. Bus into town or to Kaprun included in ski pass but unfortunately does not run at night, so taxi required back to hotel if night out in town. That said, hotel bar is pretty cool albeit not as lively as Zell am See itself! Hotel pool is good though you get the usual crowd of kids post skiing - I did go in half term - and sauna / steam room welcome 16+ though daughter was shocked that some use it nude 😂 cleaning of room during our stay was not very good but restaurant for half board was great with good service. If you coach to Zell am See you will need a taxi up to the hotel as coaches not able to make it, though this was included in our package. It’s not too end but has everything you could want - deluxe room had double bed and double sofa bed which was actually excellent and as good as the main bed. Massage lady was also excellent for sports massage post skiing day (needs booking). We had lots of snow though were warned that the season in Zell am See (2000m) no longer lasts till Easter though Kaprun (3000m) does. Slopes are kind as they are wide and long. Kaprun lovely skiing with loads of snow but took 2 hours from hotel to slope as the queues were so long. Saturday coach back to Salzburg airport (with its separate terminal for Brits with nothing in it!) took 3 hours rather than 1.5, so be warned and factor in delays if going at busy times. Overall a fantastic week that exceeded expectations!

• nhaughney (10/5): Stylish hotel with ski in ski out options - A lovely modern hotel, great views and large rooms. Staff very helpful and half board option was very good. Great service at dinner and bar is stylish, with excellent service. Halfway up the slopes, ski school, hire and shop all available outside your door. Boot room worked well, and we skied daily from black or red run to the door.

• RadLyzuje (10/5): Exeptional service and genuine care - Our stay at Hotel Vaya Zell am See was truly enjoyable – beautiful surroundings, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts and dinners, and a very professional team. What made our stay truly exceptional was the remarkable kindness and human approach of the receptionist, who is also the hotel manager. Late in the evening, we urgently needed veterinary care, and she immediately helped us find an available emergency service and provided all necessary contacts. Her support during that stressful moment meant a great deal to us. Such empathy and personal dedication are rare. We sincerely appreciate her help and highly recommend Hotel Vaya Zell am See – not only for its quality, but especially for the people who make it special.

Cleanliness was an issue - insects were found in the room and bathroom, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category. The bathroom appears old and worn, and the room itself feels tired and uncomfortable rather than cozy. The only positive aspect of my stay was the food: breakfasts and dinners were good. Apart from that, there is nothing positive to mention. I would not choose this hotel again.

Cleaning was poor, and based on my experience it does not deserve more than a 3-star rating. I also had to wait three days before I was able to access the safe deposit box in my room.

• David (3/5): Tired hotel, rude staff, dont eat the chicken. - Hotel is located right next to ski lift. ski rental below hotel, beds were comfy. Food was bad. From the portion sizes, in the main meal you would be lucky to get 40g of protein. Roast beef was literally 1 slice, 2cm wide by 12 cm long and 5mm thick (approx). Staff in restaurant were awful. On 1st night ordered just tap water with dinner. On 2nd night when waitress asked what we would like to drink I replied "just water again like last night please" When the bill arrived with breakfast the next day, I saw we'd been "upsold" to a premium water. When I queried it the waitress said it was not possible to remember what people ordered so the gave us the expensive water, therefore I had to pay extra as she could not remember and could not be bothered to ask. I refused to pay the extra resulting in a literal shouting match with the restaurant manager over 2 euro. Quite literally unbelievable. Also got food poisoning from the chicken dinner, 45 minutes after the dinner was on the toilet with diarrhea for most of the night and the next day, the couple on the next table also mentioned issues with the chicken the next day. Room was tired, bathroom especially dated bathroom with pegs missing from walls in bathroom for towels, simply filled in not replaced. Pool / Spa. Pool was cold, even though there was a sign saying the temp was 29.5C (I've never seen this before I guess the sign is there as people constantly complaining of it being cold). It was soo cold my 12 year old son did not want to use the pool. Spa was a steam room which could fit exactly 2 people and a sauna that could fit 8. The wood in the sauna was rotten and another guest nearly fell on the sauna when he stood on the sauna and the wood collapsed. Not child friendly, there were zero games, like checkers, or similar board games in the hotel. Also larger party groups with lots of drunk guests.

Mitten im Grünen, Sehr gutes Frühstück, Parkplatz zubuchen und kostenpflichtig( keine andere Parkmöglichkeit), kleiner Wellnessbereich Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen: Teppichboden mit Brandflecken, Glastisch mit Macken, Schimmel in Dusche und nicht zu wenig, Waschbecken mit Macken, Fernseher defekt, Sauna und Pool zu klein für die vielen Leute, innen nur 4 Liegen

• Przemysław (10/5): Udany i pełen wrażeń urlop, choć pogoda chwilami próbowała pokrzyżować plany. - Bardzo przyjemny hotel w spokojnej okolicy, a jednocześnie blisko centrum. Pokój czysty, przytulny i ładnie urządzony. Śniadania smaczne, obsługa miła i pomocna. Na miejscu dostępna strefa wellness i bar. Dużym plusem była karta umożliwiająca korzystanie z komunikacji miejskiej i niektórych atrakcji bez dodatkowych opłat. Pogoda się nie do końca udała.

• Paulius (10/5): Definitely worth it, super hotel - Just came back from our trip. We stayed in this hotel 6 nights (family with two kids and dog). I can tell that it really exceeded our expectations. This hotel has everything you need for skiing: ski locker (heated), you go out and ski lift is 50 meters from you. SPA area, I read that it is too small and etc, but it is regular size, pool was quite emplty, sauna, turkish sauna, jakuzzy was always aviable. Food: breakfast was wery good. You can get eggs, sousages, pancakes, fruits, juices and etc. Dinner was so good. Everyday you can pick from buffet or from meny and it is so delicious. Bars and other places in hotel where you can just sit , relax and enjoy. I can say that this is very good option if you want to have good time and quality. Staff is also very friendly. Special thanks to Tania;) The only thing if you drive not 4x4 car might be a bit difficult to get up there when it is ice.

Skikeller ist vorhanden und gleich mit Skiladen verbunden - für Skiservice sehr gut. Das Abendessen war recht gut. Nach einer Woche ist das Buffet sicherlich langweilig. Der Wellnessbereich ist mit Hallenbad und Sauna zwar vorhanden; aber mittelprächtig. Die Sauna ist klein und gut versteckt; Ruhrzone nicht vorhanden. Das internationale Publikum macht das Saunieren zum Schluß noch ganz kaputt. Die Heizung in den Zimmern kannte nur die Funktion maximal an. Also Fenster immer angekippt oder ganz auf - beim Schlafen suboptimal. Das internationale Personal hat sich bemüht …

• Heather (10/5): One to return to. - Fantastic location next to the slopes and 3 lifts. Staff were excellent, especially the lady running the bar who makes very good Aperols and Cocktails. Beds were a bit saggy. Whole hotel was very hot.
