- christine (7/5): - L'accueil d'Elsie
Le petit déjeuner Le manque de chauffage
Le fait que la maison se situe à 50 mètres de la highway alors qu'on avait choisi de s'écarter de la ville pour être au calme et que l'annonce précisait que la maison était au calme.
- Chelle B (9/5): - The host arrived to say hello, and explained the property set up, comfortable place.
Thank-you to the hosts for the lovely fresh breakfast available.
Would of like to stay longer. Beautiful rural setting Nothing
- CATHERINE (10/5): - It's a beautiful peaceful place. Not too far from dunedin. Very comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Wonderful friendly people.
- Steven (9/5): Fantastic - What a great little place. Owners where lovely and accommodating and accommodation was great
- Pitambar (9/5): Great accomodation - Wonderful no crowds and not far from city No any
- dc3bc56ec17d71b130ace2d687c52aae (10/5): - Love love love the house, the setting and decor.
Love love love love the hosts.
Kids loved loved loved the vending machine.
- Mark (10/5): Nice and good accomodation - So clean and affordable
- Jason (7/5): - Nice bed & breakfast experience. Generous portions of breakfast supplies provided. Host was very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was very unlevel, there are steps where we didn't expect and tripped a few times.
Cleanliness was OK, but there were some cobwebs right above the kitchen area.
Bathroom has no active ventilation and is rather small.
- Jill (10/5): -
- David (10/5): - Friendly staff copy stay
- John (9/5): - Friendly helpful plenty of food that we didn't expect Bed bit small
- Georg (9/5): beautiful house - A beautiful old house with several bedrooms, stylishly furnished and very well equipped. A very nice landlord who showed us everything. Breakfast was prepared, we made it ourselves in the morning. We felt very comfortable! The house was quite cold, but we were able to heat individual rooms.
- Kevin (8/5): - The location was perfect for us as we were driving back to Christchurch the next morning and this location gave us a head start after we had completed the Dunstan Roxburgh cycle trail. It is located off the main road and was quiet and secluded. The Chalet had all the facilities for an overnight stay but was also close to a nice restaraunt a small distance away. The living and main bedroom were up steep narrow stairs which took a bit of navagating and may not suit everybody but wasnt a problem for us.
- Debora (7/5): Great for the young and adventurous - It was good value for money and breakfast was great. Would be great for a group of young people needed a place to stay for the night. The stairs, my poor old knees struggled with them I did not take my small suitcase up there. It felt to narrow. If I were yiund it would not have been a problem.
- Huey Ee (10/5): Peaceful and memorable stay - We've got the whole house and it was really huge with more than enough bedrooms for us. It's located in a peaceful and quiet area. Elsie is really nice and friendly. My son even got to feed the sheeps there. And thanks to her recommendation - we had a great time in Agrodome. Everyone loves it so much. Nothing
- Helgi (9/5): -
- Jon (10/5): Perfect, very good value - Perfect, very good value for money, warm welcome, clean, spacious! Thank you, I recommend it! Upstairs, you should put up a little sign about the step. Even though we knew about it, we almost tripped several times. It's a small improvement that could be nice!
- Jaimee (8/5): Super host! -
- Larry (9/5): Wonderful comfortable country retreat house. - Lovely older house with plenty of character. Very clean and spacious. We met the lovely hosts on arrival who gave us a guided tour and a short history lesson about the house. A wonderful continental breakfast was supplied with bread, muffins, milk, juice, yoghurt, jams and fruit. Location was on the main highway. The rear of the house was occupied by students with a locked door marked private in between. Even so, they were quite noisy and it was awkward when they would walk past our windows to get to their lodgings. Couldn't located the remote control for the loungeroom air conditioner/heater.
Leckere selbstgemachte Marmelade, danke.
- Robert (7/5): Enttäuschend - Durchschnitt nicht comfortable.Durchgelegene Betten.Zum schlafen nicht geeignet. Betten.Wc ist sehr eng.Küchengeräte billing.
- Nathan (10/5): Even though short this was a lovely stay. The chalet was clean and comfortable and a delicious breakfast was provided - We were greeted on arrival which was a lovely personal touch N/A
- Miguel (10/5): -
- Carol (9/5): Quaint and quiet - Very quaint, peaceful setting. Andre and Elsie are so friendly.
- Matthieu (9/5): -
- Peter (10/5): Seldom you see a place that you feel like you at home.and this place is almost the same as my own home - It was very cozy and comfortable Nothing it was quite the property we are after. So quiet and peaceful.
- Kelvyn (8/5): Great value rustic and very quiet. Good location and great for a quiet getaway - Rustic very cool Upstairs living area with small bathroom and toilet
- yichen (10/5): -
- Liam Lin (10/5): -
- Miguel (10/5): Perfect spot . - Family friendly, the swimming pool is one of the things that our kids love the most. Quiet at night and good vibes on the day. Every time that we have to go to Christchurch our first option is to stay in Tasman holiday park the location is perfect everything is close by from the supermarket to the cinema and everything in between. The office/shop and swimming pool close by 9. And that the visitors don't follow the rules on the swimming pool.
- Nubia (8/5): Nice and confortable Chalet - The chalet is nice and confortable and the owners are really friendly. Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): Friendly personable hosts, great spacious facilities, beautiful garden, fresh eggs... brilliant. - Easy, friendly. Perfect location for us - we wanted to be just north of Dunedin for Silverpeaks Reserve and to get to Palmerston on our two mornings. Nope. Nothing. All good.
- Dagmara (9/5): -
- LE (10/5): - 热情的房东夫妇,可爱的小动物。有提供足够的早餐。他们很用心的打理房子。可惜我们只待了一晚,将来有机会真该多留几天体验。
- Sun (10/5): -
- Gemma (8/5): Great stay and friendly host .. - Old style charm Lack of pots and pans for a family of 6 and the parking
- Inga (9/5): Home for the holidays - Incredibly nice hosts, we loved chatting with them, the kids loved playing with their grandson, feeding the sheep and the chicken. For us this was more than about BnB it was a little home for the time!
The chalet was spacious enough for the five of us, we loved making ourselves some breakfast with the yummy ingredients supplied but spend the day out and about exploring the many attractions of the area.
- Ilse (8/5): - Comfortable and very spacious accommodation in the countryside.
- Robert (9/5): - It was clean, quiet and comfortable, everything I needed for a 3 night stay. The hosts were very pleasant, offered good suggestions about the area, and were quickly responsive to my needs. Highly recommended. The uneven floor was initially a concern, but I would certainly stay here again.
- Dawei (8/5): -
- Hilary (10/5): Although we were there only 2 nights . We had a lovely time close to Dunedin to be able to explore and we saw an albat - Out of town, short drive to a beautiful beach
Owner was friendly and hospitable
- Rodrigo (10/5): Excellent Chalet - The place is excellent, the food amazing and the hosts are wonderful. Excellent attention from them, they were always helpful!
- Prince Jose (10/5): -
- Justine Ana (10/5): A beautiful get away just on the outskirts of Dunedin, hosts are very warm and generous . - The house was very spacious - setting was well thought of - child & family friendly, nicely carpeted:) Approx 15 - 20 mins drive to the city. The continental breakfast was very generous - x3 cereals including granola to choose from, English muffins, bread for toast, yoghurt, whole milk, juice with generous supply of teas, coffee, plunger coffee, jar of cookies and bunch of fruit, as well as fresh eggs to purchase if you wanted. The crockery and cutlery was very nice.
The bedrooms were spacious, very solid and warm, with a heat pump in the main rooms if needed. The beds were very comfortable. The lounge was peaceful- open plan, with a heat pump, large TV, games, books and toys, connected to the kitchen and dining room. Thank you Elsie for popping over and chatting, appreciated your warmth and generosity, really made our stay memorable:) nothing
- Nadine (5/5): 5 beds but all in one room. - The host was nice, we could look at their hens/chickens. We had Continental breakfast. It was cold, the beds were all in one big room, there was no dining table.
- Sebastian (10/5): - Everything awesome. Lovely hosts, thanks Elsie and Andre, it was a beautiful experience for my family.
- Andrew (6/5): Great little B&B - Great little B&B just off the main highway. Cosy room, with a lot of character. Nice fruit and food for breakfast Little bit hard to find, as the name didn't match the signs. There was also a water pump that was quite loud quite early in the morning, disturbing our sleep, it went for quite a long time (at least an hour)
- DAWATAGE JAYATHU (9/5): - Family run property. Nice and cozy. Generous to provide breakfast items. Not complaint, but it would have been great if they could fit a Heater to the Attic Floor. Such would have been handy especially for colder nights
- warne (9/5): - Quite, clean, the views. nothing was to much trouble from the hosts. Would stay here again in heart beat. Kitchen was a little small but we coped fine.
- Maria C R (10/5): Charming vintage chalet. Well maintained. - Charming vintage chalet. Well maintained.
- Betty (9/5): Value for money, lovely breakfast provisions and great hosts. - The space and size of the accomodation Nothing
- Husni (10/5): Unique and awesome for family farmhouse stay - Comfortable stay and value for money. Friendliest of Elsie and Andre makes all of us feel at home. Will definitely make it as place to go on our next visit to the South Island. None
- Sharron (9/5): A peaceful cottage retreat - We were warmly welcomed on arrival by the owners; the unit has lots of bedrooms and space (and nooks and crannies for children to explore). It is easy to find - 15 minutes outside of Dunedin or 10 minutes to Warrington/Karitane. Only one shower - which could be a problem if you had a house full of guests.
- Lulu (10/5): -
- BO (10/5): -
- Ana (10/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): A good stay - Very quiet space. Well equipped. Well met when we arrived. Was quite a cramped space.
- Firdaus (10/5): - The host is very friendly. The very welcoming. Prepared some welcoming foodies and lots of fruits. Never find anywhere like it. The room is so warm. Electric blanket each bed. The view like home Some of the hallway is so cold, especially the tile one. Only bit far from dunedin
- Southland Kindergarten association (9/5): A cute quirky wee delight! - This was one of the cutest places we have stayed! It sleeps 6 but the beds are spread out so everyone feels like they have their own sleeping space. The breakfast was plentiful, loved the homemade jam, biscuits with afternoon tea. Very private. Some others have commented on road noise but you have to strain your ears pretty hard to hear any traffic! It did take a little while to heat up with the heat pump but once there it was fine overnight. Very good value for what we paid. Nothing! Maybe the stairs are a tad steep but they can’t really be changed. Fine if going slowly.
- Diane (9/5): Great place to stay in the countryside just a short drive to Dunedin - very friendly host, comfortable bed and good cooking options for a short stay Would have liked a dining table but not a big deal
- Peter (10/5): - Excellent location, we used it as a stop over on a longer journey.
The Chalet was clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was plentiful.
A hidden gem, although there was only two of us, it was set up for a family.
It was quiet and peaceful and we will definitely book again. Nothing to dislike.
- Darkrai246 (9/5): A choice fresh stay near Dunedin - The host was very helpful and friendly. There were fresh eggs selling by the host from the farm that can be added to the breakfast. The kitchen had lots of equipment for you to make good meals. There was only one heating a/c near to the door or entrance area, so the overall temperature can't be warmed up easily, The road to the B&B was a little bit unclear in the evening, especially when it was raining at the same time, we passed the point at first and turned back.
- Pauls (10/5): - Friendly owners beautiful location
- Tomomasa (10/5): -
- Kai Li (10/5): ten out of ten best near Dunedin - the best view and place to stay near Dunedin~ morning sunshine breakfast and very cozy fully equipments have everything you need in this very nice chalet ! travel in July and was freezing cold that night and the chalet not fully insulated despite has a heater .. but there are electric blankets in the bunk beds and extra blanket for other beds ~ definitely a very nice place in the other seasons
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Ashlee (10/5): -
- Tamara (10/5): Exceptional - This is the second time we have stayed here and it was good as tbe first time woukd definitely recommend, and hopefully get back up to stay again on holiday. Wonderful host
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Becky (10/5): - House was beautiful, clean, spacious. Hosts were clear in their communications, very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was a treat! House warmed up nicely with fire and heatpumps and cosy electric blankets. Feeding the chickens and sheep in the morning was a highlight for the kids. Very close to SH but very quiet, didn't notice any road noise at all
- Alichia (10/5): Exceptional - Such a cozy little spot and the host was very friendly and the eggs where a nice touch
- Nathan (10/5): - Awesome place and location. Very comfortable beds! .
- Jing (10/5): 非常有爱 - 设施特别齐全,主人很热情,是很温馨的民宿。值得来住! 都挺好的。
- Chae (2/5): Lack of heating. - A pretty English country house. Lack of heating in kitchen / lounge / dining area. Fire insufficient. Too cold to have breakfast.
- Siddharth (8/5): Peaceful days, fresh air, and a slower rhythm that soothes the soul — countryside home living offers a comforting escape - Perfect country side living to stay safe and to have a good day with your family and loved ones.
Owners were kind and friendly people with lots of kindness to take our kids for cattle feeding and compassion for their guests. House was very cold.
- Mosavi (5/5): Odd place - Kind of quirky, different. Freezing cold, no place to sit except the beds or hard chairs, steep and narrow stairs down to the toilet or shower in the dark.
Won’t be on my list of favourite stays.
- Ben (9/5): Great place to stay! - Andre and Elsie were great and warm hosts
Loved the little farm they had
Loved the little garden
The room and beds was comfortable
Great breakfast selection
Loved the cookies too
Clean bathrooms
Hot water Wifi Abit weak but good enough to post stories albeit Abit slow
Upper deck rooms Abit cold as complained by my family living above
- Ruey (8/5): Very good -
- Randyb (9/5): Superb - The house was nice. Host was there to meet us. We didn't stayed longer.
- Robert (10/5): Tranquility - I enjoyed the tranquility of being outside the city limits 🏙️. It was a peaceful escape from the usual hustle and bustle. Yet, it was conveniently close enough for a quick trip back when needed. Perfect balance of serenity and accessibility! It can be a wee bit tight at the top of the driveway if there are a few quests in the other part of the house.
- Antonio (10/5): I will definitely keep going when I’m in Dunedin it’s such a nice place - It was the best place in Dunedin
And we have enjoyed every minute
And thanks to Arden for everything
- Monishita (9/5): A comfortable and family-friendly B&B with plenty of beds, kids' toys, and charming farm animals—highly recommen - We had a very comfortable stay at this B&B. There were plenty of beds, making it a great option for families or groups. The property is well-equipped for children, with lots of toys to keep them entertained and happy. A special highlight was the farm animals on-site—my son absolutely loved them! Overall, it's a lovely place to stay and I’d definitely recommend it.
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place.
- Jane (10/5): Never to Forget - Warm engaging hosts that genuinely cared about our experience and stay. They went way above and beyond and displayed the true Kiwi spirit. Wonderful supply of Breakfast foods, including home made jams. Everything glows with a labour of love, this made our stay just perfect. Thank you.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (9/5): Unique B&B with atmosphere and views - will be your favourite stay ! - A unique property, the kids favourite - like being at Hobbiton but the spaces were triangles rather than circles. Bunk beds downstairs, a queen and 2 more singles upstairs, filled with nooks and crannies and split levels.
A proper old fashioned bed and breakfast, the hosts recommended a place for dinner and it was one of the best meals of our trip. Added value was being able to see the chickens and grab some fresh eggs.
Lovely hosts and great views of the local countryside. These are not dislikes - more to be aware of:
- Turning off the main road was a bit tricky as it aligns with the start of an overtaking lane and doesn't have big signage to identify it. Easy once you have been in and out a few times but tricky if its dark or wet or you have just arrived - recommend arriving during the day for maximum visibility and safety.
- Stairs in our apartment were steep so be careful going up and down and with kids not familiar with stairs.
- Frith (9/5): Superb - Lovely hosts very friendly and welcoming
- Xiangyi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tawhai (8/5): Wonderful charming house - Location, size character and charm. Comfort very clean. Owners very friendly and welcoming. It’s was quite cold in the main living areas and not much wood supplied. Upstairs was very warm and cosy . Kitchen a bit inadequate for a large family to cook on but a bbq was provided.
- Ben (9/5): Relaxing stay just outside Dunedin with the best hosts - The hosts - Andre and Elsie - were exceptional and so friendly and we were welcomed to enjoy their property with them. The Chalet was comfortable and quirky, with plenty of room for a group and families with bunk beds, single beds and a double bed. The breakfast provisions were well appreciated and added a homely touch. We liked the charm of the Chalet, especially after busy days out, and getting to return to peaceful countryside just out of Dunedin (which was only 12 mins away mostly on a highway). There’s not much we didn’t like. We enjoyed everything but recommend to be careful up and down the internal stairs.
- Panunee (9/5): Very happy - Host very good a+++
- Mavis (6/5): No - Lovely comfortable bed & pillows. Friendly hosts . Pretty setting . Cold living area & shower . Requested a heater which was provided. Bit musty & dark .
