Guest Reviews
- Yohann (4/5): - Chambre pas très propre. Toilettes presque bouché! Est Acceuil pas terrible. Bref je suis déçu
- Marian (6/5): - Unable to have breakfast as not enough stock
Felt the customer service was lacking
Bonne literie
- Leonieruth (6/5): Good Budget Hotel - Used as a stopover on a longer journey. Easy to find from the A10 motorway and has private parking around the back. Check in and check-out were easy with the receptionists able to speak English. The rooms were basic, as expected for this type of hotel, and are a little dated but they were spotlessly clean. All were triple with a double bed and an adult bunk above. The beds were comfortable and afforded a good nights sleep after a long drive. Each room had an en-suite toilet and separate shower cubicle, both made of easy to clean moulded plastic. I have to say the shower was one of the best I’ve experienced in a budget hotel. Although there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms these are available from the vending machines in reception. The hotel does offer a light continental breakfast of a croissant and coffee for a few euros. There are several eateries to suit most budgets only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. This appears to be a popular hotel with several older couples and families staying there during our stay.
- Jorma (8/5): - Ihan kelpo halpa hotelli. Aamiainenkin kohtuullinen.
- Judicael (8/5): - Petit dej bien. Manque de viennoiseries.
- Alexis (10/5): - Good place to stop
- John (6/5): - It was ok as a one night stop over but hotel is tired and drainage smells in the bathroom.
- kimski44 (8/5): Tesla charging plus cheap & cheerful - Normally I’d give this hotel two or three stars - it’s very “tired” and is in urgent need of a complete refurb and update, it looks scruffy everywhere. It is also very very noisy with the window open, due to the hotel’s location practically next to the motorway. If the window is shut, it’s fine; the double glazing works well to exclude the noise.
BUT - all the staff that work here are so kind and friendly - from Reception staff, to waiting staff in the restaurant, to the chambermaids. Everyone was charming and welcoming. The room (twin - beds pushed together) was fine if a little cramped, with very comfortable beds (I might book “twin” next time instead of a “double” as didn’t feel every move of my husband for a change!!) and clean linen. Bathroom was small and old-looking, but again, everything worked and the shower was hot and reasonably powerful.
For the price, it is very good for an overnight stay. One of the biggest draws are the TESLA superchargers - there’s a bank of them here and so Tesla owners (and other EV owners linked to use Tesla chargers), on a budget will obviously choose here, for ease apart from anything else.
Evening meal - again the servers were super-friendly and helpful - you get a pate or terrine starter with salad, followed by roast chicken in a ceramic dish or a pasta dish for vegetarians; I don’t think there were any vegan options.
The breakfast was superb. We never get down particularly early - normally around. 09.00 - 09.30 - but there were plenty of choices for a full continental breakfast AND bacon & eggs for the British contingent that probably stay in this hotel regularly! They have one of those boil-your-own-egg devices as well. It was a good and well-stocked display of different breads, as well as the usual croissants, lots of cheeses and ham, different jams and different fresh yoghurts. To be recommended.
I WOULD actually stay at this hotel again, outside of the summer months (as the a/c was a bit old and I am not sure it could cope with very high temps). I don’t think there’s any way you could open the window to get cool air, due to the very loud noise coming from the motorway.
One last point, there is a great, very large field as part of the hotel which is ideal for a secure dog run about.
Bit tricky to find - I recommend you use Waze to find it more easily.
- Marion (10/5): - Very close to A10 for access. Restaurant right opposite hotel. Fast food options around. Nothing fancy but great value for money.
- Matthias (8/5): - Value for money, but with limited attractiveness.
- Maxim (2/5): Meh. - Nice right outside of the hotel entrance. No air conditioning. Staff is great and friendly, gave me a fan. Breakfast is terrible, don’t even bother, there’s a restaurant nearby.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't go there ! Awful dive - For 60 euros a night i was expecting a "Premier Inn" or at least a "Travelodge" level of room but this was awful. The room was tiny, the bed was dreadful and separate shower room and separate toilet were a real squeeze. I had booked a room to break the journey south then a week later another to again break the journey north. We didn't even show up on the return leg as the experience was so bad. I didn't even mind that the hotel refused to cancel and refund. It was worth 60 euros not to go there!
Ibis should be ashamed to have their name attached to these dives, NEVER AGAIN !!!
- Verified traveler (2/5): FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AVOID THIS PLACE ! - The smallest, hottest room I have ever stayed in. The bed was awful, the seperate toilet and shower were tiny. DON'T GO THERE !
- Jan (10/5): Good ! - I can’t recall his name but the young man on reception when we booked in was exceptionally professional, welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was good.
- Abdel Jalil (2/5): - Chambre sale, sdb salle, toilette salle
- R (4/5): - Poor quality breakfast at 08.45 bread finished, fruit from tins…. Not a good start
- Matthias (8/5): - Great value for money accommodation.
- G P (4/5): Adequate, but watch out! - Hotel was adequate for an overnight stay travelling South - arrived late at night and only needed a bed. We specifically chose this hotel because of the secure car park. We arrived at 11pm and took the last space in the car park which was not that big. Others arriving after us had to park outside. I'm also not sure the car park was locked - it was open when we arrived and still open when we left at 5am.
Also, we were charged on check-in by the hotel even though we had pre-booked through Hotels.com and 6-weeks later I am still trying to get a refund!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Wont be returning - Cheap and cheerful. But very basic. Large stains on hallway carpets was our first impression! Children screaming running up and down corridors until 03:00. Slamming doors and was very noisy between 23:00-05:00.
- MANUEL (4/5): - Séjour catastrophique hôtel mal entretenu A éviter....
- Kgj (4/5): - We stayed there just for one night luckily.
There was no airco so very hot at the room. It wasnt clean at all.
- AlekseyGrig (6/5): Cleaner’s intrusion - We, a family of four, stayed in this hotel one night in July 2021. In general the hotel quality is average. In a morning we were awaked when a member of staff (probably a cleaner) opened a door in our room. We were shocked such an inappropriate action of the hotel staff.
- Luke (8/5): Good for a place to lay your head for the night - We use the Ibis Budget hotels as they are cheap and break up the journey to and from the south of France. You get what you pay for and for us, that was a place to sleep for the night. It was clean, friendly and had everything we needed for a nights stay. They are ways situated near fast food restaurants and a big supermarket too. We’ve used them for the past 20 years even when they were Etap hotels. I wouldn’t recommend for business trips, however, the free internet is good at the hotel!
- JonRankin (6/5): Very average - The area around the hotel is undergoing major road works (Oct 2019) and is thus chaotic. Not the hotels fault, it just doesn't help them. Check in was OK at 9-45pm, the room was small, the bed was clean and comfortable. The toilet did not flush well, just a small flow of water over a long time, the mirror was broken off the wall and just propped up for guest use, and the cleaning staff had left a big bundle of dirty bedlinen on the bunk bed (which I wasn't using). Not overly impressive. Tired and worn was my impression of the room.
- gicbd (6/5): Average for this price range - Like a lot of (IBIS) Budget hotels in France that were once ETAP Hotels, the Saran one is now tired and in urgent need of a refurbishment, and general spruce up. It was very poorly signposted (we do not have satnav) even once close to the hotel. The receptionists were fine. The room was adequate but the floor needed decen t clean and the "bunk" bed sheets looked as if they had not been changed (we were two so did not need to use it fortunately). But even for a budget price, there should be reasonable standards.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly receptionist, good for a stopover, room was clean
- vanessadl5 (8/5): super place for an overnight stay - We spent 1 night on our way back home. The 3 person rooms are superb! Ideal for a couple with a child or for a single mom/dad with 2 kids. The room was clean, only way too hot! We slept with an open window to have some fresh air (whilst the outside temperature was not that high - 24°C).
The breakfast was poor ... Only sweet spreads, I missed some cheese or ham (these items are also not expensive in purchase). But fresh bread, delicious juices.
Friendly staff as well, both at the reception, as the cleaning personnel as the kitchen aid at breakfast.
The parking is too small and too narrow and what I found a little disappointing, we booked for 3 persons, but the bunk bed was not covered. After a long driving trip this is a bit too much to still do .. But we slept well and got a good night rest. And the kids enjoyed their games on the good WiFi connection!
- Bryan (8/5): Almost perfect - We were given a warm welcome and a friendly and helpful service throughout. The room allocated was comfortable except for the fact that the WC although clean carried.a bad odour. When mentioned we were told that this would be dealt with which it was. All in all apart from this incident we were happy with our one night stay. Perhaps an aerosol would fix the problem?
- johnpF378AY (6/5): All the basics and good value - Old fashioned double plus overhead bunk-bed. Major problem with these configurations is that one will inevitably knock one's head against the side of the overhead bunk-bed -painful!
Other issue was the presence of a very bright exterior outside flood-light above the only window, so excessively bright spillage from this flood light came into the room below the fully pulled down window blind.
- Peter (8/5): - Used for an overnight stop en route to the south of Francr
- jdlac (4/5): Deception - Not what I expected and remembered of Ibis Budget in other cities!
The room was freezing upon our arrival, the decoration needed to be seriously refreshed, the amenities as well.
The receptionist was very nice and polite.
- Carol (6/5): Adequate stay - Really do not like the sink in the main part of the room and two separate cubicles for shower and toilet. Bed rather uncomfortable and towels very thin
- confit (6/5): ok - this ibis budget hotel was found by chance after failing to find other accommodation ,it is well hidden with the choice of two entrances one from the a6 upto a barrier which will open if drive slowly up to it or to the rear via an industrial estate
- Happywanderer1999 (6/5): A place to rest your head - We stayed here en route to the Dordogne after catching ear;y morning Le Shuttle ideal stop off point. We had not booked just turned up they had a tripple room vaccant . Room was very basic the shower room/toilet was small. The hotel is tired, parking is cramped but as just a stop over it will do. Had to make up the bunk bed for our daughter which was a pain
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic but excellent value for money - Good location for a stop off from the South. Rooms do not have air conditioning though so can be a bit stuffy in warm weather. Parking is limited but secure. Continental breakfast is fairly basic but decent value for money. Bed is comfortable and room is clean.
