• Caroline (10/5): Wonderful traditional hotel-comfortable, friendly and great food-on-site parking an added bonus. - Wonderful traditional hotel full of character. Crisp white linens, heavy old pieces of furniture and actual keys to the rooms rather than beepy cards-hope it never changes! Breakfast was superb and we also enjoyed a couple of excellent everning meals in the dining room. Friendly and informal-staff were attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Much appreciated! It was perfect and we'd definitely go back-nothing we didn't like!

The building is well maintained, the room was well appointed and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was delicious and it was centrally located. I have no complaints. I would stay again.

• Susan (7/5): - Very clean. Able to park on street outside. Located on square so downtown shops and restaurants close by. Ate dinner one night at restaurant in hotel and dinner, service was excellent. On check in clerk insisted I didn’t order a twin for two sons and tried to give us a double. Had to pull out my email to prove it. Rooms so very small which is understandable with age of hotel. But tiny bathroom was an issue since no countertop to put toiletries or toothbrush. Only towel rack was in shower so clean towels became damp. Disappointed in breakfast- limited menu and buffet table was short on rolls, croissant,etc both mornings.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant did a superlative job. Would definitely stay here again

Note: no elevator but not a problem for us; staff available to carry luggage and wide stairs which are easily manageable for most people.

• Suzanne (10/5): We had such a lovely stay, we felt the true spirit of Irish hospitality. - The hotel was very conveniently located in the center of town, easy walk to dining, shops and grocery store. Parking was available both on the street and the car park just steps away from the hotel. The facilities were beautiful, with a very inviting lobby where there was a fire every evening and plenty of comfortable seating to spend some time relaxing after a day of sightseeing. It also has one of the best restaurants in Clifden on site. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were so helpful, even preparing some food to take away for our early departure. The staff was exceptional. That we could not have stayed longer.

Quiet and comfortable, with helpful and kind staff, I highly recommend this hotel as a home base for your stay in Connemara.

• Adrienne (10/5): Brilliant Find. FOYLES HOTEL - Location, comfort,food, staff, management. Not a new flashy hotel, a hotel that has stood for over 200 years. A pleasure to stay here, wish we had found it earlier, we will return, and I know that they will remember us. That's what's special about Foyles. Great location for exploring places, Claddaghduff, Omey Island, Kylemore Abbey and gardens, Connemara National Park, Letterfrak, and so much more. You will need at least 3 nights and Foyles Hotel is great value. Visit it, you won't regret it. Coming home

Breakfast was excellent-food well cooked and presented and hot and service spot on. Special mention for music in mullarkeys bar- absolutely brilliant, never disappoints.
