• Shireen (2/5): Not a place to stay if I have kids..drive is far..from cape town...just like and olden times home... - The place needs a facelift,..booked a family room ,had to pay extra for my kids..🤔 Their was no hot tub...not child friendly... always had to be quiet.🙃 didn't feel the ...nice..we got bitten by mosquito whole night..or bugs...sorry
• DennisAH (9/5): Herzliche Unterkunft in Montagu - Sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Sehr familiäre und angenehm persönliche Atmosphäre. Hervorragendes frisch zubereitetes Frühstück. Sehr bequeme Betten. Wir haben dort sehr gut geschlafen und uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

Sterk verouderde badkamer met een douchegordijn over het bad, geen douchecabine en een raam met een rottend houten kozijn. Zeer luid blaffende honden in voor en naar het pand

• Gaby (10/5): - Wir wurden von der Gastgeberin herzlich empfangen, und fühlten uns sofort wohl. Der kleine Garten mit dem Pool läd zum verweilen ein. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber, das Bett bequem. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Die Dusche funktionierte wunderbar. Am Morgen wurden wir mit eimen schmackhaften Frühstück verwöhnt. Danke wir kommen gerne wieder.

• F Neil (10/5): We appreciated that the owner had been called away but didn’t cancel on us and arranged a very nice lady to let us in an - It had character and was in an excellent location especially for walking to lots of eateries. The room was a great size and the pool area was lovely Pool was a bit of a challenge to get in and out of but being in our 70’s was understandable.
• Claudia (10/5): Lovely place in Montagu, great hostess, restaurants in walking distance. - A beautiful historical house lovingly furnished and with a swimming pool. We were there with our son and his family who stayed in the family room. After dinner and after the children had gone to bed we sat in the lovely garden. Nadja gave us wine glasses and ice cubes. There is even a guest fridge in the kitchen. The next morning she spoiled us with a magnificent platter of fruit together with muesli, granola and yogurt followed by fried eggs, bacon and toast. We had the best time there and can highly recommend!

• Suzanne (10/5): Excellent! Anyone looking for a perfect stay in Monitgu or to break your journey then this is the place to stay. Our sta - The property was very South African! It was lovely. The host recommended so many places to eat after finding out what we liked. The breakfast was fresh and plentiful with more if you wanted it. Everything was clean and fresh and nothing was too much trouble. Plenty of hot water and clean towels and bedding. The fact that we only booked one night! We will be coming back to the property and next time we will be staying for at least 3 nights to enjoy both Montigu and the accommodation. One nights stay is not enough to enjoy everything on offer.

Sharing kitchen with owner who interferes always day and night. No space for our groceries, were under the table, Only fridge and freezer that was available for us no cupboards. No air fresheners in bathrooms cats in house. One of our friends was insulted by owner because she made mistake by putting braai/meat holder on table, she said, "are you mad you are going to burn my wood" that took me off totally shame. I felt like leaving very same time but unfortunately it was our second night had nowhere to go.

• Samantha (8/5): Beautiful stay for a group wanting to have fun. - Beautiful old vintage house. Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms . The entertainment area was a bonus. Breakfast was filling. 7 mins drive to Avalon Springs which was a big plus. If you're allergic to cats then reconsider booking this property. My son is allergic and we had to nubilise him a couple of times.

The house is one of the old Montagu houses and has been wonderfully fitted out with lovely touches everywhere. It is very comfortable and has all the modern conveniences but retains a wonderful historic air. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast adapted to what we wanted and with plenty of fresh fruit and well cooked eggs. Delicious preserves. Very easy booking and great dining advice from the host.

• Bram (1/5): How we keep it honest - Unfortunately we never arrived because all roads where closed cause the intense rain and accidents. They asked if we still wanna come that day cause people in that area where stocked so they needed places to stay, not possible to go there cause roads closed cause the rain. That date they had double paid room cause we did not show up. We never complained but if you are decent in this situation you can contact us and do a proposal how to solve this. For that reason i feel very..... And never will go back there.
