Guest Reviews
- Noris (10/5): -
- Sara (5/5): Price is not appropriate for the amenities. - Its clean and comfortable. The pool is closed permanently and the price is way too high for the area. 50 miles away the super 8 is only $69. I stay there due to the location only.
- Gina (10/5): - Clean ,and Comfortable stay Wish they have more selections on their breakfast
- Greg (8/5): Worked great for us - Never had a room so close to front desk that was so quiet. Bed frame was loose and moved about, mattress was very comfortable and the pillows were very nice. Good hot water in the shower plenty of flow. No complaints
- Guest (8/5): -
- Shawn (6/5): -
- Shawn (7/5): -
- Isaiah (1/5): - The staff were not helpful. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. The TV remote did not work.
- Michele S (10/5): Nice, Clean, and Well Managed Place to Stay - The breakfast was adequate but could enjoy more choices. The location is close to the interstate and there was a Subway Sandwich shop just across the street. I had no problems with the property.
- Tristi (10/5): -
- Jereme (1/5): - Nothing. Had to switch rooms due to leeking toilet and no receipts were provided. And breakfast was a hit or miss there were days at 6am nothing was out and no one there.
- Jason (10/5): Excellent - Convenient and clean friendly N/a
- Kristi (2/5): -
- Timarie (7/5): -
- Alberto (10/5): You can tell that this place is being managed by a very caring team. - Great location. Very clean and comfortable.
- Michael (8/5): Room was clean and comfortable - Not enough choices for breakfast Better breakfast
- Richard (3/5): Unhappy - Nothing. The hotel is run down, poorly maintained. The pool was closed. We went to breakfast at 6pm. No one was in reception, the shutters were closed. Breakfast was none existent. So we had to leave with nothing. We were not happy. We had breakfast included but had to go without. Especially having a 7hr drive ahead of us. We will not recommend this hotel, it is not a good reflection o the company.
- Vanette (8/5): - Beds were comfortable. Room was spacious and quiet. No grab bars in bathtub area.
- Mike (6/5): - No choice since there is no option in town
- Mike (8/5): Very good -
- Kenneth (6/5): - It was the only place to stay for the location. The employees were not friendly or welcoming. I saw this place was more suitable for construction workers not a family setting. We had an employee walk into our room while renting, asking what room are we in and he was confused. I followed him out and asking for the manager.
- Shervin (10/5): - Nice location!
- dave (8/5): - Nice enough place but not worth over $114 a night. Loud and just run down. The pool and hot tub are full of old carpet and mattresses. Nice people and not alot of choices in the area. My advise is to stop earlier or drive another hour..
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - Fix the pool that has been in non-use/broken for years - or remove it. You should not be allowed to show it or advertise it.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. nothing
- Jesse (10/5): - Great hotel.
- Laura A (8/5): - It was so nice to walk in and see many renovations. The bed was super comfy. All in all a pretty good stay! You can tell they are improving and putting a lot of work into this hotel.
- Stephanie (10/5): They have remodeled since the last time I was there the beds were comfortable. - I thought they offered a great breakfast. Nothing it was all great.
- Michael (10/5): - We got in late, but the manager/staff was very helpful and accommodating. Got us a nice room. It was quiet, clean comfortable. Bathroom was nice and clean and just thankful for this place. We stayed a number of times. It works very well.
- Michael (6/5): Acceptable - Breakfast was weak but it is a budget hotel.
- joe (10/5): - The property was clean and very convenient to get to.
- Judy (10/5): - Comfortable and clean.
- Carol (8/5): - Check in was awkward because the two people behind the counter was talking to each other and ignoring me. Finally, the young man did acknowledge me and check me in. Pool was closed.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good -
- Touxai (10/5): Fast, convenient, and affordable stay - I did not eat breakfast but they do have coffee ready to use and snacks. N/a
- Charles (3/5): Poor -
- William (10/5): - Good service
- Kelly (1/5): Bad - I was double charged for my stay and when I called they stated it wasn’t true and they only charged me once. She was very dismissive and not helpful to my situation.
- Tangie (7/5): Got us thru in a pinch - It was quiet and it was available when we got kicked out of Dakota Magic due to a bomb threat There was nothing to do. Our room was literally right next to the front desk leaving us feeling like everything that we said could be heard by anyone in the lobby.
- Diane (8/5): Adequate visit! - Room was very clean The first room we were assigned to had a very noisy heater & we had to change rooms.
- Frieze (6/5): Pleasant - nice staff the heater was noisy like real noisy
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Very clean and quiet.
- Chad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayle (6/5): Pleasant - Was clean Way too hot in the building. Barely any options for breakfast. The lady at the desk could barely look up from her phone to check me in by
- Hannah (8/5): Very good - This hotel was basic but very comfortable, quiet at night, very clean facilities, friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but perfectly adequate for the price. Overall we though this place was great value for money.
- Don (4/5): Not up to super eight standards !! - Pool is still on advertisement, but hasn't been available for over two years. No one told us it wasn't working. Tell your grandchildren there is no pool ! Not cool. Fix it or don't advertise it as available . First room they gave us had other people's stuff still in it. If we would have known the pool was not available we would have stayed across the street for less money
- Oleg (10/5): Exceptional - Clean and comfortable
- Teresa (6/5): - None
- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (8/5): - Convenient Location....
- WaupacaTraveller (8/5): Clean friendly interstate hotek - Was in Sisseton on business and stayed 2 nights. Decent hotel off I 29. Clean well equipped room with a good price point. Pool was not open. Staff helpful and accommodating. Good place to stay if just passing thru or for a visit to Sisseton.places to eat nearby as well as two supermarkets.
- Denise (10/5): - Requested ground floor room due to no elevator and we got one!
- Ramakrishna (4/5): - The bed sheets pillows have very bad odor. They have not been washed and/or properly cleaned to have fresh smell.
- Alice (6/5): - Room was nice but the air/heater unit runs all day/night even when it is turned to off. Phone in room did not work.
Rooms were average, mattress was like sleeping on a plank of wood.
Hotel run down and in need of updating from the 80’s. Pool shut down & by the looks of it has been a long time. Staff were friendly. Overall needs updated
- Nicole (6/5): - It appears that the pool is permanently closed - they should let people know that. The rooms appear to be recently redone (carpet, decor, etc.) but the mattresses are so hard and thin - a mattress topper would go a long way towards making them more comfortable.
- Leighza (7/5): Good - The attending personnel could not have been more indifferent. She gave the impression of being bothered by us, the guests.
Windows could be washed.
- Desiree (10/5): - The front desk moved up to a different room. Of which i was happy. The 1st room we had a smell. Slept awsome.
- Rolland (4/5): Disappointed - Easy access Desk staff, MIA most of the time, bath/ shower drains very slowly, soapy water to my ankles, bathroom fan not functioning well, tough to shower or put makeup on.
- Brady (8/5): - Liked the decor inside the Lobby, rooms were clean and modern. Area around hotel kind of sketch. Beds rather on the firm side. Overall good experience
- Steve (2/5): Please update - This Super 8 needs to be updated their rooms are ok but it could be better especially if it is like almost the only hotel in town!!!!!!!
- Esther (7/5): Great location! - The location and amenities were great! The staff were not very personable.
- Hartvig (4/5): - The room was clean, but the pool was closed and there was garbage and cigarette butts all over the ground at the enteran entrance. The ive maker did not work and nothing posted on the ice machine! No front desk help available. We were seriously debating on booking a different hotel! And we wish we would have. The conditions we’re vey unfavorable and we will not be staying there again!
- PathfinderMark (10/5): All Clean, Good Bed, Promised Breakfast - Sub-$90 room was a good deal. This is not Hilton but was exactly as promised and much better than others have reviewed (I suspect fake reviewers).
Bed was clean, made neatly. Shower was hot, soaps laid out, toilet clean, everything stocked.
Breakfast was continental plus waffles — exactly as advertised.
Would stay again.
(Now for those fake reviewers and for those who think they deserve a $200 experience for sub-90….get a grip. This hotel and its management are doing a great job.
- Tammy (4/5): - It was very smelly, could not understand the ones that work there. Very unfriendly. The coffee was awful! The food for breakfast was awful. We ended up driving to Watertown and rent a room there.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Our room smelled like someone had smoked a pack of cig in it. It was to be a non smoking room. The AC didn’t cool when you turned it on the smell of cig smoke was over powering. The fan in bathroom didnt work. Our bath towels looked like they wiped up the floor with them then folded and put back, they were dirty. There was garbage in the garbage can by tv. Would not waste you money or time keep going to next tow n.
- nadine (6/5): - Needs heavier blankets
- Brendene (10/5): - The rooms were clean but the pool was not open which is why I booked the hotel. The pool should be open in the summer when it is so hot.
- Morningstar (10/5): - Good people
- Caryn (5/5): Passable - The breakfast was fair. No fresh baked goods. The new updates looked nice. Not informed that the pool was not in use. Remodeling looked promising but bed frames, etc. cluttered the hallways.
The air conditioning cooled well but was loud and noisy.
- David (6/5): - We had to cancel due to weather.
- John (5/5): Passable - swimming pool didnt work
- Heather (6/5): - Ice machine was not working nor was the pool or exercise room.
- Belford (9/5): Superb -
- Teresa (8/5): Very good -
- Dodie (6/5): - The bed was very uncomfortable. They don't have a pool or workout room as it states on the website. Breakfast was very basic: cereal, toast, etc.
- Teresa (6/5): I already addressed it above. - Didn't have any breakfast, was not informed that they serve breakfast or the times available at the time of check in. Location was good. Beds were finally a lot softer that they had been previously. In room 114 the tub has a large crack in the bottom of the tub and I cut my foot on it, plus the area around the crack is soft and causes balance issues if you accidentally step on it which could be a hazard for individuals that have balance issues. I don't know where the water is going to when the water seeps through the crack. Also, there is black mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom which is hazardous to those individuals that have allergies or lung problems.
- Kyla (6/5): The hotel is good for short term stays. - Location is convenient. Room was clean The pool is closed every time I’ve been there. Blankets are super thin and the only thing for breakfast was oatmeal.
- charl0tte814 (8/5): A Great Place Along the Way - This was a nice hotel with wonderful staff and service. This hotel is in a critical location since there is not anything near by. Grateful for the location.
- Monica (5/5): Passable -
- Cindy (2/5): - Sheets smelled like big spray
- Bedard (3/5): Booking super 8 online is not easy and the quality of stay has gone downhill. - Breakfast wasn't ready at 6;00, half of staff couldn't speak English. No hot water for a shower.
Pooll and spa were closed. Sign said, "to help protect the health and safety of all guests, the pool and fitness center are closed today. The sign showed it had been closed awhile, and it seemed strange wording.
And your website and the front desk charged full price without letting me use my AARP discount.
Don't like your website either, by the way.

- Lewis (6/5): - This hotel is just a step above.A Mo the pool area was empty and it was full of furniture. The only good thing about it is that looks like it's been remodeled.New carpet in the hallway so forth. But it's a two story building and there's no elevator
- Arlin (8/5): - The accommodations were adequate. The area is quiet. It is an easy location to get to from the I-29 Interstate Highway.
- Kurtis (8/5): - The rear entrance/exit is blocked by a snow bank. It is quite unsafe.
- Samuel (4/5): - Couldn’t hardly find anyone, and when I did they weren’t very friendly. I cleaned up with room myself which was upsetting but I made due for a night. Bring your own towels if you plan on staying.
- Randall (8/5): Very good -
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Nice and comfy - Location No swimming pool being renovated
- Nakiah (2/5): - This place has bed bugs and tried telling us that we are wrong. There thought we found several. There was also guest complaint they also found bed bugs in their rooms also.
- Gerad (6/5): Thank you to the staff for providing good customer service. - The staff and service was very polite and helpful. We found a cockroach on the wall. We told the front desk and they help us right away.
- Lucinda (6/5): - The room was quiet and clean enough and there were plenty of towels, but there was not a single washcloth. There were only two cups for 2 paper people. The door did not lock properly.
- Tina (8/5): Very good - Room was smoke free and animal free. Breakfast was simple but good. Bed could have been more comfortable
- Aubrie (4/5): - For the price, nearly $120 total, for ONE night you'd think we would be staying in a much nicer hotel. The smell of the place (weed and earthy/musty odors), lack of amenities (pool and spa area have been shut down for months according to other reviews), the lack of breakfast selection, subpar mattress and pillows, thin blankets, terrible water pressure, etc. should really have been $70 maxium charged per night...
- Lori (10/5): - Very nice room! Larger than most. Great TV and programming. Nice breakfast.
- Tyler (2/5): - Pool is not operational, front desk personal is rude. Rooms are acceptable and as you would expect, 0/10 stars
- Tracy (4/5): Pool - Upon arrival we learned that the pool was u see construction. All the clerk could say was it was on the website. When I pulled the website up, he just shrugged his shoulders. Other guests were the the same way. Not aware of the pool situation.
- Barbara (10/5): - It was clean, quiet, and convenient stop on our trip
- Brian (8/5): Very clean, nice staff - Young Lady at check in very nice and pretty smile too. No waffles
- 184jimmye (8/5): Good experience - I was very leery of staying after reading the reviews but I had a great experience. It was clean, comfortable bed. I don't book a hotel based on the breakfast but evidently other folks do. I will say $115 for Sisseton SD is a bit much but I booked it through Wyndham and got points.
