Guest Reviews
- sandracW2385LO (10/5): Great! - Nice place! Clean room & bathroom, comfy bed, hot shower; even the tp was coming off the roll correctly! 😂. The continental breakfast is not great, but not awful, either. The only drawback is the parking options - on the road or in an unattended lot a couple blocks away. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again.
- Jen (10/5): -
- Leah (8/5): -
- Susan (10/5): was find - It was good, thank you the cost per day and did not get any senior discount
- Progchick (4/5): It would be nice if there was a consistency throughout the rooms in the hotel and everything worked. - Breakfast was fine with a decent variety of offerings. The first room I was in Room 211 seemed like it was 1/2 done. There was no ice bucket, the tv didn't work, when I asked for a new remote it still didn't work, the door sign was bent and wouldn't stay on the door. They moved me to Room 214 at 1am. The road noise from the street sweeper was so loud I was awake at 5:30. Not the hotel's fault, but REALLY annoying when you are on vacation!
- Collazo (3/5): Only go if you need too, whalers inn was cheaper and cleaner - Location No microwave, the rooms was dirty, staff were not communicating, night staff nowhere to be seen, walls and curtains were dirty, fridge had old food in it, only saw housekeeping 1 time and we were there 5 days
- Danny (8/5): -
- 822chantec (6/5): Decent for a quick stay - Overall, the room quality is not great. There was only one towel in the bathroom upon check-in and there was hair in the shower before I used it. I only stayed one night. The room was quiet, which made for good sleep. Also, they offer a complimentary breakfast bar (breakfast sandwiches, bagels, yogurt, cereal, etc.).
Overall, it was okay, but less than what I expected given the price point.
- Robert (7/5): - The location was good as we were taking the ferry the next day. Breakfast was ok. Parking was a bit of a walk, but we were able to park in front of the hotel after 6pm that worked out very nicely. Staff was very good and attentive. Parking.
- Elizabeth (3/5): I did not feel safe. - The area. Homeless at the hotel and outside.
- Chintia (10/5): -
- Ilham (3/5): - Upon our arrival at the hotel around 10:20 pm-ish, we had discussed our intention to check out late, approximately 3 pm the following day, and agreed to pay an additional $50 per room. However, one of the rooms, where my parents are staying, was unexpectedly evicted. Despite my father having already informed the staff about my request for a late check-out and the payment made, they still charged me $100 ($50 for each room), which has left me deeply disappointed with their service. I was not present during this incident as I had visited the town for a job interview, and my wife informed me of it afterward. I had assumed that they would only charge $50 due to this, but unfortunately no, they still charged for two rooms.
- Richard (5/5): Barely average - Breakfast was Minimal Breakfast was Minimal
- Paige Enderle (she/her) (4/5): - This hotel has an excellent location for walking to food and attractions. There is free street side parking and it seemed safe. It wasn't clean, the staff were not helpful, but the manager did contact me and I feel satisfied with the outcome.
- Donald (8/5): Even with the negatives i wrote I would stay here again if ever in New Bedford. - The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The room was spacious clean. It's location for what and where we were going was great. Kitchen was closed so really no breakfast other than bagels, muffins or cereal etc. The parking lot was 2 blocks from the hotel. Our door lock was not the best.
- Miguel (8/5): - Bien situé, propre et pas trop achalandé. Les chambres sont petites un peu
- Moreno (7/5): - Sii El agua deben de estar más caliente.
- Korkut (4/5): - Konum. Sıcak su yoktu. Kahvaltı yetersizdi
- Dylan Tommy (3/5): -
- Soto (8/5): -
- Carlos (9/5): - bar area was nice rooms were nice wish they had a restaurant that was open
- Antonelli (9/5): -
- Diane (7/5): -
- Celeste (1/5): - In theory, the property has all of the bones to be a great stay It was very unclean and our first room smell like cigarette smoke the second room that they offered had a stained pull-out mattress and hadn’t been cleaned or checked prior to us being assigned the room. We couldn’t stay here as a result. Neither booking.com or the property have completed the tasks to issue a refund.
- Wilfred (9/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Erik (8/5): Still the best option... - Central location, breakfast offer (surprisingly) good. Real silverware, dishes - supporting sustainability!
Free parking about two blocks away. My impression was that the hotel was understaffed. We were not told that rooms wouldn't be made up after first night.
Breakfast was without coffee one morning (between 8:00 and 8:30). Staff were surprised when I told her. "Nobody told me!"
Never got a bill for my stay (neither on paper or by email). Credit card was charged, of course.
- Karlotta (1/5): Not what was represented on line. - Parking was two blocks away from the hotel. The shower had dirty shoe prints in it. The available lighting in the room was insufficient.
We chose to leave this hotel and go somewhere else.
- Beriana (10/5): - Very clean and the location is perfect
- Christina (7/5): - Convenience to ferry, and parking The lack of outlets to charge phones. Also, the lamp between the beds could only be turned off by unplugging it, the knob on the lamp was broken off.
- Amanda (4/5): -
- james (6/5): - A re-furbished older building.
Good locale for central NB...courts, administrative offices.
Breakfast was standard, pre-packaged muffins, cold cereals, fresh fruits.
- Joanne (6/5): - Breakfast was not appealing at all.
This hotel could be great but it needs a deep clean
- Cathi (6/5): - Tv didn't work, when called down to desk she knew it didn't work and wasn't suppose to use that room. Offered to move us but we were already unpacked. Also parking was 2 blocks away
- Joe (8/5): -
- Wilson Rosher (5/5): Over all it was just ok. The room had a funny smell. - We liked we could walk places. Close to our wedding and friendly staff. The room had a funny smell to it. Also the water in the shower smelled funny like old pipes.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Great staff.
- LynElle (10/5): - .
- Gail (6/5): - Housekeeping never came to clean the room or empty trash or change towels for the five days there. Had to empty trash and leave near the housekeeping cart. Left dirty towels in the cart as well. Linen closet was on our floor and open so we selected the towels we needed on a daily basis.
- Ralph (6/5): - It is a very cute hotel, quaint rooms, has a very historic feel about it. On street parking has been very convenient in the times that I have stayed there.
The only challenge is at the check-in. It hasn’t been a very friendly staff. They seem tired and removed, because each day I’ve done it late at night. On my last day they had overbooked the hotel, even though I had prepaid for my room. The young man working the front desk was relatively new and seemed pretty overwhelmed. His answer was nothing I can do, but I can issue a refund. Midnight in New Bedford there wasn’t a whole lot of other options. I asked them to call a manager, and the manager essentially relayed the same message. I asked him to call the next higher person who essentially said give us the room because we were there in the next one with the reservation won’t have a room. I appreciate you getting the room, but didn’t feel very good about it. The whole process took almost an hour and at that hour at night. It wasn’t very enjoyable
- Kay (8/5): - Clean, smaller room with comfortable bed. Older hotel in downtown area, very quiet on weekend, except for some loud cars. A few cute restaurants, brewery and large arcade walkable.
- Kelly (8/5): - Staff at check in was friendly and helpful
- Michael (10/5): - Wonderful location with eady walking through out the historical district and waterfront. Plenty of dining opportunities.
Value for the stay was exceptional. Free parking for the hotel just a two block distance. Continental breakfast and lobby bar appreciated. ALL staff were happy and attentive. We will stay here again.
- Thu My (6/5): - It is average Hotel; room is small. Breakfast in terrible.
Only the location is closed to everything.
- Danny (10/5): -
- Philip (6/5): Noisy. Nice staff. - Great location. Nice helpful polite staff. Very noisy with traffic & street. Also could hear other rooms & loud people talking in corridor late night & early morning. Big gap at bottom of room door. Badly fitting windows, single panes, with loud street noise.
- Jolene (10/5): - The staff was excellent. We liked Eric the bartender he was so nice and really fun!!
- Frank (2/5): - Housekeeping, though requested daily, was very inconsistent with housekeeping staff not showing up for work. An internal hotel problem, affecting good customers.
- malek (10/5): - Very nice hotel and professional friendly staff
- monique (6/5): - unfortunately I didn't really like property
- Michael (8/5): - All around great place to stay
- Darlene (8/5): - Great location, offered free parking while we ferried to Nantucket for 4 days. Nice vibe Breakfast
- Daniel (6/5): Skip it - The parking lot is located blocks away -not very convenient, especially in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood. The floors in the room were dirty, as was one of the towels. Some of the furniture was worn. I would not recommend this hotel.
- Frederick (6/5): It was a cheaper option in New Bedford vs other hotels and everything was fine, but it feels cheaper - Bed was comfortable Everything was pretty basic, this is more of a lower cost hotel than a premium type hotel. As example, the morning breakfast is pretty basic.
- kathleencO4484NL (6/5): Customer service nonexistent! - I checked in at 4:00 pm and none of my 3 booked rooms were ready. The woman at the desk was annoyed that I was upset. When I tried to explain that my group was part of a wedding party, and needed to change for our evening event. I was told by the woman at the desk, “so does everyone else “. I found her rude and condescending.
This employee needs to learn empathy.
- Carmen Lydia (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here! The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Our room was spacious with lots of natural light, which we loved.
The bar attendant was great too- very friendly and fun to chat with.
Breakfast was simple but convenient: danishes, oatmeal packets, bagels, premade sandwiches, and boiled eggs in the fridge. There’s a toaster and microwave if you want to warm things up. Just a heads-up, don’t expect the usual hotel spread with waffles, pancakes, or scrambled eggs. :)
The location was awesome- restaurants are just a short walk away. Parking was easy too, with the hotel’s lot just a block over, and we felt safe walking back and forth.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!
- Dale (6/5): Adequate - Room was clean
- Zupei (10/5): -
- FRANK (8/5): - Nice property .
Tough loading in front .
Good breakfast and fair price .
- Theresa (4/5): - False advertising that you would see the Harbor from the window. We saw solar panels instead.Your frontdesk people are kind and efficient. Steve is especially keen to our needs. Thank him again for us. We will be visiting New Bedford again but will find another Hotel.Maybe one with a harbor view!!
- Scott (6/5): - Clean but dated rooms. Small bathroom. No soap for toiletries. Nice lobby bar (with music)
- Wilfred (8/5): -
- King Jorde (8/5): Perfect for a night or two. - Cool place with friendly, helpful staff. Centrally located. Walk to all. The breakfast arrangement is lackluster and unappealing. Microwaving the refrigerated breakfast items in the lobby was not my favorite. The Coffee station and fruit were just fine.
- Jeremy (6/5): - Trash left in the room. HVAC made a high pitched whining noise all morning.
Staff was friendly and timely.
- Jovanna (4/5): - Stayed here for one night, pictures online looked nice however our room was dirty. The bathroom and shower felt dingy. There was hair on the shower walls, the bathroom sink was dirty. In the room the floors were dirty. Also- what king size bed doesn’t have king size pillows???
- Chinelle (10/5): - Restaurants were good
- Chinelle (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay there
- margaret (4/5): - Comfortable beds and very clean room The furniture was newish and looked cheap. There was a used coffee pod in the coffee maker. No instructions on how to use it. There was smoking in the hall which seeped into our room. Voices also heard from the hall. Worst of all we got an unsolicited 4 am wake up call.
- Dr Isis (10/5): - Clean cuzy and family friendly
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient to ferry. Kitchen & bar closed most of our stay. Morning breakfast was lacking, no hot items unless you microwave a bad breakfast sandwich.
- LTanya (8/5): - Nice and quiet also clean for a short stay and reasonable
- Susan (9/5): Comfortable and convenient. - Location in downtown New Bedford and short walk from harbor
- Nanette (10/5): - Great staff
- Olga (5/5): Only recommend if you need a room before Nantucket ferry - close to ferry Neighborhood is extremely run down. People begging for money outside of hotel. Does not appear safe to walk around.
Feels like ghost town - everything was closed
- Robert (3/5): - Everything outdated and old. Missing electrical wallplates ,
Sheets that had holes and blood stains on side of fitted sheets.
Rugs from 1970s with huge stains everywhere. Front desk girl was going to take money off bill but couldnt since it was through bookings.com
Thats ridiculous
This property is seedy and needs massive redo. Could have gone a few miles away to a Hilton and i made a big mistake. $400.00 PER NIGHTIS TERRIBLE. SHOULD BE DUE SOME FORM OF REFUND. AREA SURROUNDING HOTEL IS HOMELESS LAYING IN DOORWAYS EVERYWHERE.
EVEN NEXT TO FRONT ENTRANCE TO HOTEL. TRAVEL MONTHLY AND IM SORRY TO SAY THIS WAS JUST BEYOND WORDS.
- Julie (10/5): - The hotel is unique—not a cookie cutter, generic kind of set up. That said, while our room was clean and comfortable, it was jammed so tightly with furniture in a too small space that it was difficult to get around the bed. There was not enough room for our suitcases to not be in the way.
- 347rickh (10/5): Great option for downtown New Bedford - The hotel is beautiful with well maintained, clean rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. The free parking is a few blocks away but on street parking is free on the weekends. We’ll definitely be returning here next time we’re in New Bedford.
- Simona (8/5): - Colazione
- Susannah (8/5): - Location Didn't like that the rate doubled from Wednesday to Thursday. I was unpleasantly surprised. I expect the weekend rate to start on Friday.
- Michael (10/5): - Nice place
- Pamela (10/5): - History...save old buildings
- Nancy (7/5): Overall, this is always a good. I’ve been coming back for years. - Location was great. The staff were friendly. The lobby area is spacious and inviting, with comfortable couches and chairs near to but set aside from the breakfast (in the morning) and bar (in the evening) tables. The room was too dark for reading so I had to rearrange the lamps. A reading lamp beside the bed would help. The breakfast was of a grab-and go style. I guess a lot of places are doing that now, but I miss the days when this hotel had hot meal options.
- Kenneth (4/5): - Not a fan of having to search for parking.
- Stephen (9/5): Comfortable, convenient New Bedford stay - Super-friendly and helpful staff, clean, comfortable, perfect central location walking distance from ferry to islands -- just right for a visit to New Bedford.
- Alexis (7/5): -
- James (10/5): Awesome Spot - The stay was great for my family and I. But my name is James not Justin.
- syreeta (6/5): - So the stay was convenient. I will say it was within walking distance to the ferry, dining options around and a whale museum. Nice little historic area. Safety-wise there were some homeless but people didn’t bother you as much. My room wasn’t cleaned properly, but again it was doable as I tend to wipe things down anyway. There were stains on the curtains and used shower gel still in the shower. The bed was ultra soft but not too bad. The staff was okay. Neyla was very friendly and knowledgeable about area. The other staff was not as friendly or warm. But they did their job nonetheless. The breakfast was continental style but there was a little bakery a block away, where you can get fresh baked goods. I would say the hotel has the location going for them. Being within walking distance to most of what you may need and a ferry ride away from Martha’s Vineyard.
- Renee (9/5): Overall, our stay was great at this hotel. - Location was excellent for us. Staff and overall comfort was great. Breakfast left a little to be desired. Not everything was available at any given time eventhough it was within the alloted hours. The pre made sandwiches were not good.
- James (10/5): - My family had a great time while we were kn town for the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. The location was convenient for us to get to the Ferry, parking, grab dinner. We will definitely stay here again.
- P5103JBjenb (6/5): It's OK, could be amazing - It's so cute and clean- if they tweaked a few things it would be perfect! Although all staff were nice they were just sitting around talking to each other. Upon check in we were not told about the free breakfast (which i already knew about and also will review here). There was no information about their bar/ restaurant, which actually looked very fun to hang out at, but no menus anywhere, even the website doesn't have a menu! Great walkability to most things. NOT on the harbor as one might think. Ok, so breakfast. I love a free breakfast, but honestly do not bank on this one! It was coffee, bagels, a few yogurts, and a moldy apple. Would i stay here again? Maybe. If there was not a cheaper option close by.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Hotel - Great location. Very small room but good for one night. Staff was very helpful & accomadating.
- Jasmin (2/5): - Stranded 10 day. Wrongfully cancelled without my knowledge upon arriving.
- Monicka (8/5): - Location and mgmt team was wonderful. One point of notice was the dresser appeared too big for room and made it tough to get to one side of the bed.
- Catherine (6/5): - Disappointed with housekeeping and linens & towels were subpar. Internet access was fine.
- Katharine (6/5): - Rooms were scuffed and not taken care of, paid extra for a harbor view and had a view of a dirty rooftop
- Jeffrey (10/5): Exceptional -
