• Safari602906 (8/5): Clean, Well-Located Hotel with Small Rooms - I stayed at Lotusama Hotel in Hanoi and had an overall pleasant experience. The staff were extremely sweet and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. The location is excellent, making it very convenient to explore the city, and the cleanliness was top-notch throughout the stay. That said, the room size was a major drawback. It’s fine for a solo traveler, but not suitable for a couple. Once we opened even one suitcase, there was barely any space left to move around. Additionally, the room only had a small grilled window, which made it feel a bit cramped. Verdict: Great service, location, and cleanliness — but be mindful of the room size if you’re traveling as a couple.

• 920sureshn (10/5): A gem in Old Quarter - We booked this hotel 3 months before arriving into Hanoi all the way from New Zealand. The hotel is centrally located in Old Quarter . We came across the friendliest staff in all our travels all over the globe. We arrived early and staff looked after our bags while we went for a wander. The room was available as soon as it was serviced and staff allowed earlier checkin. The room was nicely decorated and very clean with all the amenities . All our tour arrangements and ongoing trips were arranged by the hotel. A special thanks to Chloe who took care of all the tours and guided us to local attractions as. Chloe is just awesome.. Great breakfast included. This hotel should be rated as 5 star for location, friendly staff and amenities . Highly recommend.

Additionally, they were very considerate of our weird check in timings due to overnight trains and buses. Chloe was available 24x7 on whatsapp as well in case of any problems during our trip here.

The staff demonstrated excellent communication and thoughtfulness concerning our plans. They were very helpful in recommending local restaurants, attractions, and transportation options. The breakfast buffet was quite good and offered a delicious variety. The location is right in the center of Old Quarter, which is a huge convenience. We'll definitely stay again next time we visit Ha Noi. I wish the room would have a small desk with a chair. It's tough to incorporate working while traveling.

This one was true to the pictures and everything was clean for me. I forgot to take pictures to add of the facilities. My bad.. I enjoyed the wooden touches that gave it a natural feel but with modern additions to keep air condition inside the building.

I booked the room with balcony but the sound of crowd outside never bothering us while stay hêre. The location in middle Old Quarter so it's near to go everywhere. If i come to Hanoi again, I will stay here again for sure. No. Everything just great.

It’s in the middle of the quarters with loads of food options around. The rooms are cosy, the staff are helpful too! Breakfast was a bit salty to my liking but since there’s many food options around, not an issue. Be warned that because it’s within the quarters, it does get pretty noisy until late night when shops close. All in all, love this place, would come again!

Reception was 24/7 and nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was delightful with exceptional choice and quality. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and diligent especially Kenny in helping us plan tours in Sapa, Ha Giang and Halong Bay. And even helped us book a night train to Da Nang. • Pearson (10/5): Great room - The staff are incredibly friendly. The location is amazing right in the old quarter and steps away from great restaurants. The bed is very comfortable and the room is spacious. Room is noise cancelling we could not hear anything from outside or in the hallway. Our room had a window that faced another building. We did not mind considering it made the room more noise cancelling.
• toddmrogers (10/5): Hanoi Hotel delights. - I have never experienced a nicer group of hotel staff. They were all warm and engaging. I could just sit and talk to all of them. Even the manager, Thuc was cracking jokes about having to haul my bag around until check in, which he allowed me to have early. My favourite staff members were Juliet who had the prettiest smile, she was so lovely and so eager to assist with anything. Kenny was my go to man, he fixed my Netflix log in, he changed money for me, he even took me to the train station on the moped. I can't thank the hotel staff enough for making me feel really comfortable. The hotel is not very old so good modern facilities but built in the old quarter style. Its a very good location, easily accessible to all the old quarter land marks and dining options. Thanks again for making my stay in Hanoi, memorable. When I come back to Hanoi, I will look you guys up.

We booked the junior suite and had a lovely balcony view of the city. • Suanne (10/5): We highly recommend Lotusama Hanoi Hotel. - Lotusama was in an excellent location in the Old Quarter just a 10-15 minute walk from wherever we wanted to go. The room was very comfortable with a firm bed but not hard. Bathroom facilities were really good with an excellent rain head shower. Staff at Lotusama were outstanding- very helpful and very friendly. We had the most contact with Kenny, receptionist, and Thuc, manager. They were both easy to talk to, could answer any query and went out of their way to assist. Breakfast was delicious with a range of Vietnamese and western foods. Laundry service was prompt and reasonably priced. Cannot recommend highly enough. If we visit Hanoi again, we will definitely be staying at Lotusama. Nothing!

Perfectly located for exploring Hanoi's Old Quarter, with lovely clean, comfortable rooms and a very nice fresh breakfast. The staff did everything possible to help me get the most from my trip, organising a SIM card, facilitating my changing dates and absences when I had overnight excursions elsewhere (even making me a breakfast box when I had a very early pickup). Everyone at Lotusama is so kind and friendly I was sad to say goodbye.

The service was great, it's like if you ask or request anything they would do everything that is within their means to help. Everyday our room was also cleaned. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the wonderful manager Mr Thuc and friendly staffs who attended to our every wish with warmth and efficiency. The artsy room we stayed in was beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was exceptionally clean, providing a comfortable and inviting atmosphere throughout our stay. What truly made our experience unforgettable was the hotel's thoughtful gesture during our wedding celebration in Hanoi. Upon learning of our special occasion, the hotel surprised us with a lovely cake and adorned our room with romantic touches like rose petals, adding an extra layer of magic to our day. We were overwhelmed with wishes from the staff, who even joined us in celebrating by sharing some beer together, adding a personal and memorable touch to our special day. One of the standout features of Lotusama Hotel is its multilingual staff, including the receptionist Ms Thanh Binh (Betty) who spoke German fluently. This added convenience made our communication effortless and enhanced our overall experience. Additionally, we took advantage of the hotel's tour offerings and booked the Ninh Binh tour from their catalogue, which turned out to be amazing and well worth it. Upon entering, we are greeted by a warm and inviting environment. The lobby, though small, is tastefully decorated with comfortable seating and wooden accents. The room was impeccably clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with any request. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near tourist attractions such as Train Street, the night market, and various eateries.
• 933dominich (10/5): Good stay in a brilliant hotel - Staying in the Lotusama hotel in Hanoi has to be one of the best decision made for our trip in Hanoi. The service is really 5 star standard for a boutique hotel. Kudos to kitchen team, Kaelyn, Betty and Thuc for the hospitality shown. The staff is knowledgeable and speak good English. They even add personal touches to their service. Eg: we left for Sapa at 630am and cannot make it for breakfast. The team prepare small bento meals for us to eat during our journey to Sapa to eat. Very thoughtful indeed. When we came back from Sapa 2 days later, they actually remember my daughter love for cheese and prepare a special cheesy omelette for her during breakfast. Breakfast spread nothing spectacular but the taste is good, especially pho special and Vietnam special ice coffee. Their recommendation on food is spot on and extremely yummy. Love the bun cha and desert recommended by Kaelyn and Betty’s recommendation for banh mi was good too. Overall I have been wowed by the team and will be back staying here when I’m back in Hanoi. Only 1 small issue that has nothing to do with the team, the roads can be quite noisy with the constant honking from cars passing by.

• Ian (8/5): Lovely hotel but perhaps avoid their travel services - Lovely, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Immaculately clean. Good breakfast selection and flavour. Room 401 (Junior Balcony Suite), where we stayed for our first visit, is quite squeezy and a little bit tired but very quiet with almost no street noise to be heard. Room 303 (Junior Balcony Suite), for our second visit, is bigger and a bit flasher but very noisy. We loved both rooms but preferred 303 as it felt just a little bit more comfortable and street noise doesn't bother us unduly. It would be nice to have one hot breakfast dish other than eggs suitable for vegetarians provided every morning. We booked a bus to Tam Coc through Lotusama. We knew we were paying well above the average price but assumed it would guarantee us a good quality service. That was not the case. The bus company they use was obviously very cheap (evidenced by the fact that we were the only non-Vietnamese passengers). The bus was worn and grotty. We waited in a shed for 40 minutes before it departed. The driver was downright dangerous, getting up to gobsmacking speeds and squeezing the bus between big trucks for no apparent reason. We're experienced SE Asian travellers and this guy was up there with the worst. Poor communication over payment (driver insisted we pay him although we'd already paid Lotusama) and a chaotic transfer from Ninh Binh to Tam Coc. By contrast, the return bus to Hanoi organised by Tam Coc Friendly Homestay at almost HALF the price Lotusama charged was a dream. Bang on time. Clean, modern bus. Friendly and careful driver. Straight through to Hanoi and directly to our hotel with no confusion or communication issues. We were disappointed that Lotusama charged us a lot of money (more than double the bus company's fare as confirmed by the driver) for a cheap, poor quality bus company without any regard for our comfort or safety. Based on our experience, we would not recommend using Lotusama's travel services.
• Minjae (5/5): At the center of Hanoi City - The location was good, the price was reasonable, and most of the staff were kind and were willing to help. The room was a bit small, but it wasn't a major issue. However, the balcony was not as clean as I had expected from the pictures and was even smaller. What bothered me the most was the manager (I'm not sure who he was) of the hotel. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, the manager was very aggressive. He was furious about my cancellation of the Ha Long Bay tour that the hotel had suggested. I had informed the hotel in advance that my parents were not satisfied with the tour's schedule (they couldn't swim, so they preferred an alternative tour with different activities). However, he accused me of lying. This was very disappointing, especially as it was my first day in Vietnam, and his attitude ruined my day. I genuinely felt sorry about the cancellation, but he should not have handled it that way. Apart from this issue, everything was great. The staff were very welcoming.

For example, my friend was meeting me in the morning to go on a tour. She was staying in a different hotel. When she arrived, the staff at my hotel had breakfast ready for the both of us. That's just one example among many. The staff go above and beyond here. Other things: The wifi worked really well, the location was great, and it was very peaceful/quiet at night. I slept well. Also, I specifically picked this hotel, because it is near to X-men Gym. You can go to this gym for 50,000 VND (2 USD). Nothing.

They can even arrange a tour and airport transfer for a fee. I like the breakfast buffet selection. I stayed there for 3 days and I like the breakfast. They have different food everyday and they all tastes good. Its value for money. I had to switch rooms two times because the aircondition wasnt working. Third time is the charm but the manager made up for it by giving me complimentary late check out and they were apologetic so it all worked out. The property also prefers cash payment because if guests pay via credit card, the property gets 10% charge because of tax. They should make this clear in booking.com.

• Snellgrove (10/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel - The Lotusama is a small boutique hotel located in the Old Quarter within easy walking distance of many sights. We appreciated the friendly service, comfortable bed, good WIFI and Netflix, and very nice breakfast. The staff went above and beyond to coordinate transfers to and from the airport and to arrange a day trip to Halong Bay for us - the service exceeded our expectations! The only minor challenge we experienced is that the hotel preferred for us to pay in cash rather than by credit card due to the credit card transaction fee. We did not know about this in advance, so did not have enough cash on hand to make it work. The hotel was still gracious about accepting our credit card in the end, but we were a bit surprised about the request to pay in cash.

• Antonio (9/5): Superb - The staff is what really makes this hotel special. They were always very friendly and welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed and that I felt at home. The location is fantastic for exploring the old town. I liked the unique architecture and décor of the lounge and reception area. Breakfast had limited selection but was very good quality and taste. The superior and deluxe rooms do not come with a window even though from the photos it looks like there is one (technically there is a window but it's blocked by a wall). This makes the room feel claustrophobic, considering also their compact size. At this price I would have expected a bigger room and / or a proper window.

Bed was ok, pillows suck. - Out of all the places we stayed in Vietnam in 3 weeks, the staff here were the friendliest and most helpful. This is saying a lot because people were lovely everywhere. The room was quite tiny, we had a suite but there really wasn’t a chair or desk or sitting area. The bed wasn’t great, the pillows were awful. Big puffy and uncomfortable. The breakfast was fine but not great.

I’m glad we were given a free upgrade as I’d missed the fact that the room is booked didn’t have a window!! The pillows on the bed are the really uncomfortable! They are super over stuffed and hard which really gives you real crick in the neck! The staff did swap the pillows to smaller ones for us, but they were only smaller in width, but still over stuffed! The breakfast is okay - lots of choice (including some odd options like sushi) but not amazing.

• Christian (7/5): Just not what you hope it would be. - We stayed at Lotusama for two different occasions in a short period of time. The design is nice and the location is very central! Staff is friendly. In the first room we stayed, there was a problem with heating and cooling the room. It was basically 28 degrees inside the room and the AC system could not be turned off. We requested a staff member to help us with the system, then we left to get dinner, and only after we returned at around 11:00 PM someone was called to have a look. It could not be fixed, so we had to cool the room by opening the window and room door. The second stay, we were upgraded to a room on the street side of the building, whilst we specifically booked a room on the other side of the building. Eventually it turned out that those rooms were already rented out, and they HAD to put us in the ‘upgraded’ room. This of course would not be a problem since the room was nice, but the street noise is very very loud and would not warrant a good sleep. After some time, there was a room available at the back side after all. This was a nice room but had a pretty bad smell coming from the bathroom. Doesn’t seem to be good value for your money.

They were able to arrange trips for us a Hanoi food tour, Ha Long Bay, Ha Giang and Ninh Binh which were great quality and price with great services as the staff themselves have tried them. We got many tips on weather, things to buy and overall great service - not much to say. I’d recommend a higher up room and on the backside as Hanoi streets get loud
