• Elina (10/5): - Clean, warm pool just outside the room. Being surrounded by monkey family, peacocks and other wildlife. Good pressure water in shower, immaculate rooms. Delicious food, great, accommodating host. Host helped us organize safari which was amazing.thank you! Highlight for us was calm peaceful sunset boat ride in local lake by gentleman who explained surroundings beautifully. Absolutely will be returning to this property very soon and highly recommend to others, particularly families with children.

• Marion (8/5): Wonderful place to experience Sri Lankan wildlife and safaris - very friendly staff and beautiful owner who could do eno - The location was prefect to be on a lake and so close to the national park. The boat ride on the river was beautiful as were birds and wildlife. Rooms was comfortable - pool was a great asset. Staff were exceptional. Some facilities are aging.
• Aditya (10/5): Incredible stay in a beautiful setting - Our stay at Tranquil Wild was incredible. The setting is stunning, right next to a peaceful lake where we could take long walks and spot so much wildlife. We saw birds, peacocks, buffaloes, iguanas and some friendly monkeys who gave us company when we were by the pool! The room was spacious and very comfortable for the three of us. AC worked perfectly, everything was smooth, possibly the bathroom could use a slight upgrade. Our daughter loved the upstairs baby beds in the family room. The pool right outside the room was a big win, we spent a lot of time there especially in this heat. The treehouse was amazing and all the little seating spots around the property are beautifully done, making it a great place to just sit, relax, and take in the views. Food was very good, both dinners were tasty (though slightly limited in variety), and breakfast was generous and very well managed. The staff were amazing, super warm, helpful, and always responsive. They also arranged our safari, which was seamless and really well done. The jeep was comfortable, everything was on time (including packed food), and we saw plenty of wildlife, including elephants, across Zones 5 and 6. They were also kind enough to give us a very generous late check-out, which really helped since we were traveling with a toddler. Just the typical Srilankan hospitality! Overall, a beautiful boutique stay that really brings out the best of the Yala experience. Don't think twice if you are visiting this part of the country. Nothing
• Philippa (8/5): Peaceful and calm - great location for the nearby Safaris - Very peaceful alongside a lake. The pool was welcome as it was very hot during our stay. Dinner was offered and very nice. It was necessary to pre- order for the kitchen. Anne the hotel owner was extremely helpful and on hand to help sort out safari trips etc. she is very personable and obviously passionate about her business. bed very comfortable and good bed linen. The property felt a little tired and in need of an update. Particularly our bathroom. Unfortunately it hadn’t been cleaned and previous occupants soap etc was still in the shower. I am sure this was just an oversight. It would be lovely if the hotel had a bar area as it would be a great place to relax after dinner. They do offer beer and a few soft drinks. They did offer to go and buy wine when asked.

• Robert (8/5): A very good base for a safari in the Northern part of Yala - This hotel was larger than others we stayed at – the room was enormous and looked out over the garden and pool. The evening meal was delicious and plentiful – second helpings offered if wanted! Nice touch to have a library of local birds and mammals of the region. They were very accommodating of our need to store the cases after official checkout so we could move on to our next accommodation after our day long safari in Yala 5 and 6 which they organised and for which they provided both breakfast and lunch, both of which were delicious and filling. There were some little points that might be improved – the check out was slow due to manual invoicing. The bathroom might have been a little brighter.
• Genevieve (10/5): Gorgeous spot with pool and YUM pineapple juice. - Absolutely loved our stay here!! The room wasn’t double story as pictured but was two conjoined rooms which was perfect for us as a group of 4! A lovely stay with the pool to chill out by when we weren’t off on a safari. All meals able to be eaten at the property and all delish!! Best pineapple juice of my life. Lots of peacocks, monkeys and buffalo’s able to be seen from the rooms - sadly also heard at night. The only fallback for me was no fresh towels/ make up of room during our stay.

• Victoria (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at Tranquil Wild. The staff were really wonderful and helped us book our safari. We had a deli - Tranquil wild was in a beautiful location and the accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It was nice to have a pool as well. The rooms smelt lovely as they had cinnamon oil burning. My daughter was chased by the head of the monkeys that live in the property, which was very alarming for her. However if you are staying in a property that borders a national safari park/ jungle, then you need to expect that there will be local wild life. One if the staff was very kind and accompanied us back to our room.

• Evelyne (5/5): Décevant - Le safari était super, et le cadre est très agréable. De petits singes jouent dans le parc et les chiens de l'hôtel nous tiennent compagnie. L'emplacement est très isolé si bien que vous êtes obligé de prendre la pension complète. Les repas sont très moyens, aucune carte de boissons donc vous avez la surprise sur la note à la fin... les employés sont constamment au téléphone et s'empressent de vous débarrasser alors même que vous n'avez pas terminé votre plat. Les chambres sont moins jolies dans la réalité que sur les photos et des blattes remontent des canalisations. Globalement le prix est excessif par rapport aux prestations proposées.

• Ekaterina (10/5): Amazing staff, delicious food, and a memorable experience! - We had a fantastic stay here and it truly exceeded our expectations. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful—the owner of the property took good care of us and even assisted us in arranging a doctor visit, which we were so grateful for. The safari was great, and we loved that this side of the park is less crowded - we didn't see any traffic inside the park. The food was hands-down the tastiest we had in Sri Lanka, and the special Sri Lankan dinner and dinner by the bonfire were highlights. The rooms are comfortable, the pool is clean, and we loved the little extras like the treehouse for the kids and the board games. We were sad to leave this beautiful, peaceful place. Highly recommended!

• Marie Goosmann (8/5): Fantastisk sted, skøn pool og flot familieværelse. Fin safari - Fantastisk sted. Stort og lækkert familieværelse med fin plads til os alle 5 (2voksne og 3børn). Fin udsigt fra værelset mod pool og sø med mange dyr at kigge på! Varm modtagelse og venligt personale, som arrangerede en fin safari. I jeepen på safarien havde det været rart med sikkerhedsseler. Ikke noget stort problem, men lidt små portioner frugt til morgenmad og det tog lidt lang tid for at al morgenmaden og kaffen var klar.

• DMITRY (10/5): Прекрасный отель - оазис тишины и умиротворения рядом с национальными парками Яла и Удавалаве - Прекраснейший отель - оазис тишины, зелени и умиротворения рядом с национальными парками Яла и Удавалаве! Отелем управляет милая добродушная и отзывчивая Anne, в которую влюбились и мы, и наши детки с первого дня =) В самом отеле всего 6 комнат, что создаёт дополнительное уединение. Отель относительно молодой, открыт полноценно, на сколько я понял, в 2023 году - всё новое, чистота номеров и территории выше всяческих похвал, комаров ни в номере ни на территории отеля не заметили. Ну а главное, конечно, это добродушные люди Шри-Ланки и природа! С самых первых минут нас очень радушно встретила хозяйка отеля - прекрасная Anne, с ней всегда было очень приятно пообщаться на английском на разные темы за чашечкой крепкого черного чая или кофе. Вся её команда была очень участлива по любым нашим вопросам. Семейные 2-этажные номера безумно понравились нашим деткам (6 и 8 лет). Отель находится на берегу живописнейшего озера, на котором неожиданно для нас оказался целый райский заповедник дикой природы - несколько раз плавали семьёй на небольшой лодочке по этому озеру! Такого разнообразия птиц мы не встречали нигде - считай целый парк птиц в придачу к отелю! Также на территории отеля проживает много белок, буруднуков, павлинов и пару милых добрых собак. В один день отель навестила большая семья лангуров - повеселились вдоволь, попрыгали по заборам и деревьям, поели манго и убежали по своим обезьяним делам дальше. Завтраки были большие, очень вкусные и разнообразные, подаются на свежем воздухе. Ужин также брали в отеле - адекватный ценник и вкусные разнообразные опции по блюдам как для взрослых, так и для детей. В один из дней хозяева сделали на берегу озера большой костёр с приятной музыкой и шри-ланкийскими национальными блюдами для всех гостей гостиницы - очень неожиданно и приятно! Желаем процветания Anne в её прекрасном деле! Очень надеемся, что когда-нибудь получится вернуться в гости и остаться подольше в этом райском уголке Шри-Ланки!

• Alysson (10/5): A relaxed stay in a beautiful setting. - We spent two nights at Tranquil Wild and had a wonderful stay. Anne’s communication before and during our visit was excellent, and she helped organise a safari that was absolutely perfect. We were lucky enough to spot the elusive leopard right at the end! Highly recommend the 5:30 pm boat tour at Tranquil as well.

• James (7/5): A good choice for safari adventures. - We stayed here because we wanted a half day safari which the hotel organised. All good. Room was fine. Nothing super special but clean and comfortable. WiFi was great. Location: there’s nothing around. No restaurants for example, so be aware you’ll be eating in the hotel. Monkeys on the property were a touch vicious unlike all the others we encountered. Just be aware of this if you’ve got kids or don’t like them.

• Alexander (9/5): - Wir sind sehr nett empfangen worden. Wir hatten eine Hütte mit Blick auf den See. Alles war sauber& es gab genug Ablagemöglichkeiten. Die Dusche war mit Trennwand und es gab genug warmes Wasser. Der Pool sauber und es gab Auflagen auf den Liegen.Wir haben über das Hotel eine Safari gebucht und wurden pünktlich um 5 Uhr abgeholt und die Safari war erfolgreich, wir habe viele Elefanten, Krokodile und einen Leopard gesehen. Das Resort liegt etwas außerhalb, so bietet es sich an dort zu essen. Das Essen war lecker, Ein Abend konnte man von der Karte bestellen, ein Abend gab es Reis und Curry und Hoppers. Wir haben auf die Safari eine Frühstücksbox mitbekommen. Wurden davor auch gefragt. Es war bloß wenig drin, der versprochene Kaffee hat auch gefehlt. Nicht zu vergleichen mit Dem echt tollen Frühstück am nächsten Tag. Wir waren Um 10 Uhr von der Safari zurück und hätten lieber da gefrühstückt. Der Guide der Safari hatte eine tolle Kamera dabei und hat uns Fotos versprochen, leider haben wir die nicht bekommen. Aber das ist eine Kleinigkeit, uns hat der Aufenthalt gut gefallen und wir können die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall empfehlen
• Danielle (10/5): A Perfect Base for Safari and Relaxation - Our stay was wonderful. A truly peaceful location and an ideal base for safaris in Yala Blocks 5 and 6. The garden, filled with birds, monkeys, and squirrels, is fantastic, as are the swimming pool and the treehouse—perfect places to relax and unwind. On top of that, the food is exceptionally delicious. The service from the entire staff is excellent, with special mention to the ladies at the reception and in the restaurant: incredibly kind, professional, and helpful. Highly recommended!

• domen (10/5): Really highly recommend. - The whole place is amazing. The rooms are big, well equipped. The staff is super kind and helpful. They arrange for us safari trip. The park around the facility is nice and wild at the same time. Mango trees, green parrots, peacocks,…just few meters away is a pond with beautiful flora and fauna. We take also a trip with boat across the pond. The guy who was managing the boat is one big heart. Although he doesn’t speak English a lot, we learned a lot for him.

• Gisela (9/5): - Wir verlebten drei wunderschöne Tage im Tranquil Wild und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Abgelegen an einem großen Stausee liegt die Unterkunft auf einem weitläufigen Gelände mit vielen großen schattigen Bäumen. Für uns war sie Ausgangspunkt für beeindruckende Ausflüge, man kann hier jedoch auch den Tag einfach an dem schönen gepflegten Pool verbringen und die Natur beobachten. Im Garten leben viele Tiere, wir sahen Warane, Affen, Palmenhörnchen, Pfauen, Malabarhornvögel und viele andere. Die Gastfreundschaft von Anne und allen anderen Mitarbeitenden ist großartig, jeder ist hilfsbereit, freundlich und versucht den Aufenthalt der Gäste einzigartig zu machen. Wir hatten ein großes Problem mit unserem Rückreisevisum über Indien, Anne hat nichts unversucht gelassen, uns bei der Lösung zu unterstützen. Lieben Dank noch einmal dafür! Das Frühstück ist super lecker und sehr reichhaltig, hier blieben keine Wünsche offen. Zusätzlich gibt es Mittagessen und Abendessen auf Vorbestellung direkt vor Ort. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sehr sauber und bieten einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf den großen Garten und den See. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt für eine Safari in den ruhigen Teil des Yala National Parks (Block 5 & 6) genutzt, der vom Tranquil Wild nur wenige Minuten entfernt liegt. Ein weiteres Highlight war unsere abendliche Bootsfahrt über den See, wo wir den Sonnenuntergang vom Wasser aus bewundern konnten. Alle Ausflüge sind über die Unterkunft zu buchen, lassen Sie sich das nicht entgehen!

Możesz u nich załatwić Safari i transporty. Dla mnie średnio wygodne łóżko za twarde i skrzypiące i niestety nie wyspałam się. Ale to jedna jednorodność

We were met by the owner Anne and staff who gave us the warmest welcome. They are so genuinely friendly and kind, nothing is too much trouble. Our lakeside room was big, absolutely spotless, well appointed and had such a comfortable bed!. We stayed two nights, very quiet and secluded, enjoyed watching the water buffalo or monkeys from our patio. The hotel food was delicious, plentiful and service was excellent We used this hotel as a base for a 1/2 day Yala park Safari. Anne recommended and organised this with Dr Weli as our expert guide, who was superb. Staff had even got up at 430am to prepare a takeaway breakfast for us! .This place has a really relaxing atmosphere and lives up to its Tranquil Wild name. Highly recommended Thankyou very much! All good.

• Hannah (10/5): Special Hotel at Yala - what a special location right next to Yala Nationalpark. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had a BBQ in the evening with bon fire, that they offer. It was very nice and clean. Staff was also very friendly.

Loved the dogs and monkeys in the garden and the pool was a welcome cool down! We loved it. Yes some of the food / drink prices are higher than in some other parts of SL but given the location and somewhat remoteness this is entirely reasonable in our opinion
• Sharad (10/5): Exceptional - The manager Anne was extremely polite and helpful throughout. Made us feel like we're right at home with family. The hospitality was simply amazing. The rooms were tidy and the pool was clean. They allowed us to stay a few hours over the check out time and provided us with a late breakfast as well since we had our morning safari. The food was excellent and they modified the dishes to match our taste. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff, ***especially Anne (owner) and Amal, were exceptional,they arranged a safari to Yala Block 6 (just 10 mins away!) where we spotted elephants and leopards. The **food was a highlight**: authentic Sri Lankan curries and Western options, all served in an open-air dining area. Don’t miss the **sunset boat ride on the lake**—pure magic! Clean, spacious rooms and a serene pool sealed our perfect stay. We’ll be back!"

Excellent food in the restaurant. Staff were very helpful and the manager Anne was extremely pleasant and professional and helped arrange safari and cooking lesson. The hotel is remote, but as long as you are aware of this before you book, which we were, it is not a problem.

Spacious and comfortable room. Amal’s services on safari were fantastic - great explanations of the animals and provided us with some amazing digital photos post tour free of charge. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, and would book a safari with Amal for sure.

• Teresa (9/5): Perfect little hotel for a safari at Yala and many other purposes - Tranquil Wild is a lovely hotel very close to the entrance to Block 6 of Yala National Park. It is thus in a perfect location for people wanting to do a safari. We are very grateful Anne arranged the safari for us, it was a truly extraordinary experience☺️ Anne and her staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms were super clean and tidy and the food lovely. We enjoyed the best Sri Lankan breakfast at Tranquil wild of our whole Sri Lanka trip.
• Stuart (8/5): Good hotel, ideal for Yala safari with an overall nice room and pool.🏊‍♂️ - We had two rooms separate from the main block which gave an added sense of privacy. Hotel staff were always friendly and helpful. Hotel pool was a nice size and importantly it was clean without cloudy water, not always the case in Sri Lanka. I think the food and drink prices are on the high side.

• Calvin (10/5): Great location set in a safari park - Fantastic location for sightseeing in the safari park. Was amazed at how easy the place was to find in a non-tourist area. Rooms were great with plenty of space and the team went above and beyond to help. Easily accessible for families with beds separated over two floors but viewable so that parents can keep an eye on their kids. Able to do safari trips directly from the hotel and knowledgeable guides. We were lucky enough to see a number of elephants and other animals. Would highly recommend as a stopping point if touring the central and south coast of the island. Nothing at all

• Emily (8/5): Tranquil as the name suggests! - Really friendly, helpful staff! The room was very well equipped (A/C, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, hairdryer, dental kits etc etc). The whole environment was very peaceful, beautiful view of the lagoon, it was lovely having a boat ride (1500LKR/pp) and watching the water buffalo! A number of games in communal area. Food was good, not outstanding but nice☺️ Absolutely loved our safari with Amal! We did the full day to block 5&6. It was great going to a part of the national park that is less trodden and we were super lucky to see a leopard, sloth bear and cub and much much more. Highly recommend this if you go. He also took some fantastic photos that he sends to you afterwards - he is an asset to the hotel and we wish him all the best!! Block 5 - leopards, no elephants Block 6 - elephants, no leopards Anne is very responsive, accommodating, kind and keen to make your stay as good as possible, which is very sweet❤️ Please note these negatives are purely constructive and to explain why we did not give it 10/10, we still loved our stay here!☺️ I think overall we found the hotel quite expensive compared to other places we have stayed in Sri Lanka and generally the grounds, rooms and communal areas felt tired and lack some ‘finishing touches’ that make it extra special. On a similar note, the cost of food alongside the cost of the room means you could easily spend £60 per day on food on top of your £75/ night room which is quite steep. I believe breakfast should be included in this room rate as standard. Luckily we had a tuktuk so could travel easily, I would bear this in mind if you do not have your own transport. Please note service charge of 10% is added also. Saying this, there are not a huge number of hotels and guesthouses in this area and so they have filled a niche🐆

For example providing birthday cake and supplies. Staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The facilities were a little tired but we appreciate the difficulty in running and maintaining a rural destination.

Trainee manager poor at customer engagement, spent a lot of time at reception desk on phone/computer. No wine, beer only. Things picked up when owner Anna was around

• Ines (7/5): Good - Very tranquil little place just in between Block 6 Yala en Uduwale national park. Great location if you want to visit both parcs. We did three safari tours - one to block 5, one to block 6 and one to Uduwale. We loved the trip to Uduwale and Block 6 Yala - both nice nature, elephants and lots of birds. The trip to Block 5 was rather exhausting - long ride, very bumpy road and about 4 hours driving in a circle with not much animal sights - no Leopards found and Block 5 also does not have elephants. So would not recommend that. Driver and safari guide were really great though!! Pool area was nice for refreshing after the safari rides. Staff is very friendly and tries to help you with everything, also very nice with the kids. Everything is quite simple, which was fine for us, but could use some renovation here and there. Food was okay for snacks and dinner (had better food during our trip), breakfast was unfortunately not good at all.
