Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): Comfortable, convenient location, beautiful property. - Overall a nice hotel, a bit pricey, convenient for what we were in town for. Nothing.
- W3866IQfc (8/5): We needed a room with mobility access. - 1) Easy access to highway & ample parking
2) Well-maintained rooms and common areas
3) Exterior windows providing natural light for indoor pool & hot tub
4) Satisfying breakfast & laundry room
- goblirsch (9/5): -
- John (9/5): Nice place, clean, quiet. Skip the coffee and drive 3 minutes to Scooter's instead. - Nice room, quiet. Coffee was really quite bad. As in worse-than-church-coffee bad.
- Casondra (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): It was a nice stay but the Friday worker was very not nice at all - Clean Nothing
- Nelson (8/5): -
- Rasmussen (10/5): Our stay was awesome. - The breakfast was great. Lot's of choices to pick from. The staff was very friendly. Our room was very comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay while we visited family in Windom. The only things we did not like were... The lights by our bed did not work and the usb port by our beds did not work either. was still able to plug my hearing aid charger in so I could charge my hearing aids.
- 661alysiad (10/5): Best Staff Hands Down!! - There are only two hotels in this town. AmericInn far surpasses the other in every way. The entire staff is amazing. They helped us navigate a new town and made us feel more welcome than I could have imagined. Trust me, spend the extra money and stay at AmericInn!
- Michele (10/5): Nice place to stay - Very nice place to stay. My room was very nice and clean
- Shawn (10/5): - Did the job, quiet and clean.
- Wayne (6/5): - The room was comfortable and clean. The hot tub did not work. The pool was freezing, and the bathtub faucet was extremely hard to turn in room 103. Both coffee flavorings were out during my stay after telling someone about it.
- Becky (4/5): - Sofa bed in king suite had no bedding had to call to front desk to get some and make the bed ourselves.
Also pool hours were listed 7am-11pm. But we were told the pool was closed until 1pm the next morning when the kids wanted to swim.
Breakfast was wonderfully good, hot and fresh.
- Glenn (9/5): Superb -
- Linda (8/5): - There was no seating in front of the building
- Noel (8/5): - very nice
- Chuck (8/5): - Nice simple place and helpful staff
- Connie (10/5): Exceptional -
- marysR2076GT (10/5): A great place to stay!!! - Our family has stayed here multiple times over the years and have been so impressed by this AmericInn. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the environment is clean and in great condition. The breakfasts are top notch as well. We look forward to visiting again! Thanks Elizabeth, Cameron (?sp), Jocelyn, GM Kathy and others for all your hard work!
- Daniela (10/5): - I stayed at this hotel due to a work trip. The location was very convenient, easy parking, friendly staff and super clean rooms! Love it!
- Austin (8/5): Very good -
- Jill (10/5): - Very clean
- Robin (7/5): Good enough to attend a funeral - Easy to find View of building
- Timothy (2/5): - We were given a room with no cold water, the toilet handle was broken. Had to take the lid off to flush, refrigerator was warm, and was charged again for the room. The front desk girl was very friendly and helpful in getting us another room, the next day but then I was charged again for that room. All money was credited back but wanted a refund for at least one night never heard back from the manager so I guess I’m not getting that.
- bryanm452 (10/5): Spotless and Quiet - Cleanest rooms and very friendly staff. The breakfast is solid and the coffee is darn good. Best bang for the buck. I went into the mechanical room where guests aren’t supposed to go…that was even spotless. Always book at the hotel. Great contractor rates!
- Elizabeth (10/5): Great place to atay - A great place to stay! Love the friendly staff and clean accommodation's.
- Darla (10/5): - My go to when coming to town
- Cruiser709037 (6/5): Sad to have to paid so much for so little - Needs improvement costumer service not at all helpful or responsive. The price was astronomically way to high for location and stand quality, mold in shower, told them I was there for a funeral they put me in the closest room to entry, main road and noisy neighbors at 6am. Charged $218 even though website said $126 then Charged $149. For 1 60yr old lady. I was scammed.
- Phyllis (10/5): - Nice room, excellent service, yummy breakfast, clean.
- Annalisa (9/5): Superb - Huge thank you to the staff who helped us with a room change request. They went above and beyond and we appreciate it so much.
- Stephani (10/5): - Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel is well maintained and parking is great.
- Joe (10/5): So comfortable and restful - So very, nice clean
The people at the front desk are always so helpful! I have enjoyed staying here. I look for wyndhams now
- WICTM (10/5): Very comfortable, safe haven for the night - My son and I got caught driving at night from Minneapolis to Sioux Falls in a wicked snowstorm. The AmericInn in Windom was the most welcome sight when I couldn’t bare to drive any more in the weather conditions. Check-in was a breeze & friendly. Took and bed were comfortable. The hotel was very clean. Breakfast was delightful and the woman managing it was so on top of everything. Our quick stay at this hotel was out of necessity but I would 100% stay by choice in the future. And I highly recommend it.
- Reid (6/5): - Thought I booked a king suite but was given 2 queen beds.
- Randall (10/5): - A nice, clean stop when visiting Windom or just passing through. You’ll get a nice, spacious room with a comfortable bed and be taken good care of.
- Audberto (10/5): - Clean, nice people
- ruthjS8906SX (10/5): Small town hospitality - Small town hospitality at its best. Very friendly that actually cared for your stay to be pleasant. Manager is reflected in very well trained staff, not just in checking you in but making you feel welcomed. Rooms were clean and pool was clean and fresh. The breakfast was fresh and the coffee hot!
- Daniel (10/5): - Nice hotel.
- Mark (6/5): - I will stay again
- Lisa (8/5): - Too close to highway and lots of traffic noise all night! Pork stockyards were just down the highway and was very stinky! Issue with blowing fuses in living area. The fixed it though. Staff was very friendly and helpful. You need non slip strips or matt in the tub as it was very slippery when wet.
- David (4/5): - I was very disappointed in this amiricinn, all other americinns i have stayed at were in far better condition and the staff were much better, not Windom
- Frank (8/5): - No
- 798troyb (8/5): Clean, modern, friendly staff, quiet. - For a small town this is a nice hotel, rooms were clean, modern, good choice of programming on TV. The owning breakfast buffet was a nice touch and offered a nice variety for this size hotel. It was also nice and quiet, I heard no loud noises in the hall or neighboring rooms. It was a bummer the pool area was not functioning. All in all a great stay and we would stay here again when visiting family in Southern MN.
- Bruce (8/5): - It was nice for the area.
- billymR4412XQ (2/5): NO SLEEP till Brookyn - The hotel is next to a dive bar, The Phat Pheasant. The only reason why we are here is to get some sleep, but from midnight to 2AM there was nothing but noise and screaming. Looked out the window to see a crowd of drunken kids fighting, laughing and rolling on the ground from the bar in between the hotel lot and the empty place adjacent. Called the police but they said they were already on the scene. Turns out the police were on the other side of the bar. Eventually they ended it, but I found out it happens every weekend. Kids were even running into the hotel who don’t stay here. Not worth $200 or even $20 for the aggravation.
- Roxanna (10/5): - Breakfast was good, rooms were clean. We did have a problem with the smoke detector beeping at us about 4:00 am, when I called down the person who answered was kind of like ‘uh, try unplugging it?’ which wasn’t super helpful. There was a button to reset it I eventually found, but kind of a middle of the night annoyance.
- Larissa (8/5): Very good - it's simple has all what is needed
- Lynn (8/5): - Nice accommodation. A few more options for breakfast would be nice, but generally good stuff.
- Rici (8/5): - Good option in the town, upkeep could be better
- Michael (10/5): Great place to stay in southwest MN - 4 years ago we came down for our granddaughters 3rd birthday party. We loved the place. We came down this weekend for a funeral, 4 years later and it was just like new! Great staff and very clean! Thank you for keeping the hotel up to par and one of the best in Southwest Mn.
- Lee (7/5): I might stay again but will definitely have to find a different breakfast!! - The rooms were clean and cool when we first walked in! It was a late check-in and cool was what we needed… The beds were hard…I know they can’t get beds that match everyone’s needs but my husband’s back hurt after the second night because of the hard bed. We also were not impressed with the breakfast! When I got down there, the eggs were Warm but not hot…the breakfast meat was cold and the waffle maker didn’t work!! I also want to point out that every time we came and left during our stay…there was Never anyone at the front desk! And we had to wait a few minutes for someone to show up so we could check out!
- Michael (8/5): - The staff was very helpful and courteous.
- Clark (7/5): Was good - The quietness of the room and hotel alot of the staff was great. Kat woods did great. There was one day that the breakfast wasn't done and cold. Did get a girl at the desk that wasn't very helpful or very approachable.
- Frances (8/5): Very good - Key didn't work and one night we had people trying to get into our room. Apparently, there was a mixup at the desk
- Cecilia (8/5): Very good - Everything was great. Clean rooms, great breakfast, great customer service 👍 I wasn't notified that the pool was unavailable due to chemical imbalance. We originally booked for 2 days but had to cancel the 2nd night to book somewhere else.
- Curious64043176630 (2/5): Overpriced and you don't get what you pay for - The stay was shoddy, payed 569$ for two nights without getting any service that would meet even 400$, got lied to when we booked the place saying it was around 120 a night then it magically increased. If you want to waste money like this, your ass is a better way to spend your money. Shower was clogged when we got there and the water just went up draining slowly probably because somebody shaved their pubes in the shower and it was never cleaned. Breakfast was mediocre if you pay what they advertise but shot when you pay what you actually pay. At 500 for 2 nights I would've expected people to carry our bags for us because that pricing is outrageous for everything else you get... or don't get I guess. Stay here if you want to shave your pubes and get price gouged
- Brian (6/5): No worth the price. - Not worth the price of $160 a night at best this is a $100 hotel. Breakfast was poor bad artificial egg dry out sausage and the waffle make didn't work or they just didn't want to clean it.
- Darla (10/5): - Nice little hotel but the only nice place in town.
- Julie (8/5): - Would have rated excellent, except for the pungent order of marijuana in the lobby and hallways. Not sure where it was coming from, but very unpleasant to smell.
- Larry (2/5): - This was booked in a place that you cannot reach due to flooding.
- Jon (6/5): - Very expensive for a small town. Breakfast was ok.
- Knaack (9/5): Clean and friendly stay. - Friendly staff, clean facility. It was great for the price.
- james (4/5): - Had to nuke the ‘hot’ breakfast items. Went across the road to buy hand soap as the hotel was out of bars of hand soap.
- Christina (8/5): - Really liked that the pool was open until midnight. That was nice. For those who stay up a little bit later. Would have loved to see like a picnic table or something outside. It was such a beautiful area
- LeAnn (6/5): Average hotel, good for a quick stay, not special - While the room was clean and ready for me upon check in I was disappointed in the overall condition of the room and hotel.
Being not far from the area, about 90 minutes, but in Windom for the weekend at a horse show I opted to stay overnight for the weekend rather than drive back and forth.
I know that this hotel is only a few years old. My expectations were that the hotel would be in much better condition than it is with cracking/peeling tub caulk, what appeared to be a broken tub drain, uncomfortable bed (low quality), unresponsive TV controls, and inconsistent toiletries.
Given that I try to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area for work I was surprised that the rate in Windom was as high or higher than what I pay for a similar rated hotel in the southern twin cities suburbs.
The elevator carpet could use a good vacuuming and cleaning.
The breakfast was plentiful and ready to go early in the morning which I appreciated given my early schedule.
Overall, I'd probably stay there again because there are very limited hotel options in Windom and not in the actual room much but still disappointed in cost for quality.
- 491jeffo (6/5): Overpriced for what you get. - Staff was friendly.
Breakfast was well stocked but the sausage tasted like it had been microwaved 10 too many times.
Pool was always out of towels.
Rooms were not the cleanest.
Parking was free and there were enough spots.
The biggest issue is the price, it is the only hotel in town with a pool so for 2 nights it was about 358 dollars. I don't mind paying more for good hotels but this one did not live up to the price.
Overall if you have to stay in Windom than this is the hotel to choose but if you do not have to be in Windom I would recommend looking elsewhere.
- Robert (8/5): - Bathroom has mold in shower area & floor looked like it wasn’t scrubbed, otherwise it was good.
- Matthew (10/5): - Property is clean, updated and well kept! Breakfast was good with both hot and cold item options.
- Julie (7/5): Based on cleanliness of the facility, we would stay here again if in the area. - Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Only one ice machine for the entire hotel was not working. Breakfast did not look overly appetizing, so we did not eat there. Coffee was weak.
- Trish (10/5): - Place was great. The only downfall is is the water is very hard to turn on in the shower.
- Robbins (8/5): Very good -
- V3812MMmichelles (10/5): Awesome place - This hotel has once again exceeded our expectations. Talk about service! The grandson wanted ice cream and the manager went out of her way to make sure he got it! Excellent stay, thank you!
- Arun (10/5): - Nice room
- Angela (4/5): - Facet in shower was nearly impossible to turn on.
Food served for breakfast was cold.
- Norman (6/5): - Pillows sucked
- Ken (10/5): - Close to my business with good restaurants.
- melissajX2272JH (8/5): Stay at Americinn in Windom - Excellent staff, rooms are your typical hotel rooms. Nice that it has a bar if a person would want a drink and its by the pool. Quite hotel so that was also nice. Breakfast food was your typical free breakfast.
- Cooper (7/5): Good -
- Robert (10/5): - Wish the whirlpool worked
- Michelle (10/5): - This was an amazing hotel. The staff is awesome and the room was clean and quiet. Anytime we needed something they were able to help. I am thankful because it was a very hard week for us and this hotel made it a little better.
- Russ (9/5): Superb - Quiet building, good breakfast
- Emily (8/5): Very good - Very clean and comfortable and quiet The room keys do not work for the pool. Someone has to let you into the pool every time you want to use it
- Ashley (10/5): Exceptional -
- mike (10/5): - Great
- Fatuma (10/5): Exceptional - Good
- Dennis (10/5): - Very friendly, very clean, will definitely stay here in the future
- Daniel (10/5): - our favorite spot to stay when we are in the area. Awesome staff
- Dustyne (10/5): Excellent stay! - Wonderful stay from check-in to check-out. Great service and breakfast! Clean room as well.
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - The bar and pool were open till midnight
- Hoa (10/5): - Nice
- Hollie (10/5): - Highly recommend! Very friendly staff, beautiful property, and clean and comfortable rooms.
- Nelson (9/5): Superb -
- Joe (8/5): Amazing Hot Tub Suite - I surprised my girlfriend with the hot tub suite. It was amazing. The room was very clean, big TV, pleanty of towels, and the shower was wonderful. The only thing that sucked was the pool was closed due to some "chemical imbalance". I was really looking forward to go swimming. But overall the stay was awesome!!
- Haley (5/5): $200 for a night is way too expensive - Good location $200 for a night and the bed was the crappiest quality. Pillows kinda sucked too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nicest place to stay in Windom - We have stayed in Windom several times over the past 20 yrs and the first time staying at AmericInn. It is the nicest motel in Windom, by far that we have ever stayed at.
- Lois (8/5): Medium Our checkin person was wonderful give her a raise! - We couldnt find the hot water for the instant oatmeal and it would have been great to have gluten free options. Answe we couldnt find hot water for instant oatmeal and there were no gluten free bed options or bagels
- Veronica (9/5): Superb -
- Terry (9/5): We enjoyed our stay at AmericInn by Wyndham Windom and will definitely stay there again! - We appreciated the convenience of having a hotel in the small town of Windom, MN. It was nice that breakfast was offered at the hotel. Having several pillows on the bed and several towels in the bathroom was nice! The tub could use some grip strips to prevent slipping. The soft water and soap caused unsafe balance while showering. It would have been helpful to have another grab bar on the bath wall as well. It would be an update to have USB plug-ins on the bed-side lamps to charge phones. I happened to bring an adapter along, but other hotels are more up-to-date on this amenity.
- jdavis249 (4/5): Slip and Fall - The tubs have no slip resistance at all. Employees told me that they have seen this problem many times before. Recommend that if you stay here that you bring something to put down on the tub or you run this risk of injury.
- Frank (8/5): - Need to have a sidewalk going around the back so people can walk to the nearby restaurant.
