• Amina (8/5): - The hotel itself was clean and the Food was really good. The only problem is the Location. Theres No Shuttle Service to the Beach. You Walk for about 20 minutes to get there. The Beach is very nice though. Other than that and a few Cafés Theres nothing around the area and you either need to Rent a car or depend on the busses which are always Late.
• Aslak (8/5): Vasia Royal Hotel - Vi bodde på Vasia Royal Hotel i 9 dager. Rommet var fint og rent. A/C var helt suveren. Selve hotellet virket også veldig rent. Bemanningen på hotellet var veldig trivelig. Bassengene ute kunne trengt en vask, da det begynte å bli en del grus og lort. Vi så ikke at de gjorde rent disse under oppholdet vårt på 9 dager. Frokosten på hotellet er enkel, men veldig god. Avstander til restauranter og butikker er veldig stor, så hvis man ikke ønsker å gå langt langs hovedveier så kan det være lurt å låne seg en bil.
• Maria da Gloria Martins (8/5): - Diese Unterkunft ist sauber, Personal sehr freundlich, nur die Büfett ist kleinen und das gleiche, die Lage ist bis weiter vor Geschäft und Restaurants, aber gibt eine Bus Haltestelle direkt von Hotel, Mann kann bis nächste Orte wo Restaurant und Supermarkt und paar geschafft ist, oder mit dem Bus bis Flughafen oder Bus direkt fahren,wo der Busbahnhof ist dort gibt sehr schöne Restaurants und Gaststätten und viele interessante Sachen, Mann muss Stück nach der Busbahnhof in der Richtunghinter der Mauer, das ist sehr schön die ist nicht der selbe Ort wo das Hotel ist! aber den Bus fährt dort, Heraklion, außerdem Man kann auch in anderen Richtung in anderen Strand fahren,vor Hotel zu Fuß ist im 20 Minute in die Strände, sehr sauber.

The food was amazing fresh and delicious . The staff is great too specially manager Antonis, receptionist Sofia ,and Eleftheria , Thanasis , Kostis head chef , Geraldine and Richele . Will definitely return back . It has beautiful location to the Heraklion city and beaches . Walk distance to Dinosaurs land and Aquarium
• Theresa (8/5): - Excellent staff !! They were super. Hotel quite basic - good value for money. It's not a resort. Hotel rooms could probably do with a bit more character, but its functional . Just make sure you rent a car, as there are no taxis and there is no food delivery around . Area is quite a let down . Cant compliment the staff enough though they are really super.

• Pascal (8/5): A l’écart des grands sites touristiques. Parfait. - Hôtel idéal pour des famille ou des couples en quête de tranquillité. A 15/25 min des sites touristiques tel que Chersonisos et Malia, il est indispensable d’avoir un moyen de locomotion au risque de se contenter de Gourdes pas très alléchant. Les chambres sont très propres et le personnel est très à l’écoute. Le seul bémol que je mettrai est l’environnement qui n’est pas très jolie mais qui n’enlève en rien la qualité des services et des prestations. Enfin belle piscine et petit-déjeuner copieux, dommage qu’il n’y avait pas de spécialités locales.
• O6214XLnicolasw (8/5): good hotel in an uncrowded area - We stayed at this hotel for 7 days (for our honeymoon). we were looking for a hotel close to the sea and a little far from the hyper-touristy resorts... in this respect it is perfect (spacious room and very good bedding, great swimminpool). it is situated on a busy road, the nearest organised beach is about twenty minutes away on foot. We visited the heraklion region by opting for the intercity bus service...they stop right in front of the hotel :-) . Pleasant and attentive staff
• Nikkinacky (10/5): Lovely hotel - I recently stayed at vasia royal with my fiancé, sister & brother in law. We arrived at 1130pm which was later than expected after a delayed flight. We were desperate for a nice cold beer but was informed at check in that the bar closed at 11pm. There is a fridge selling cold beer & soft drinks in the mini shop in reception, we sat and enjoyed a couple of cans of beer at front of hotel. Hotel itself is spotless, clean towels in room everyday and bed sheets changed every two days. breakfast was delicious with loads of choice to cater for everyone ( it’s one of the nicest breakfast choices we’ve ever had while visiting many Greek islands) pool bar food was also lovely especially the burgers & pizza. The manager & staff were all so friendly and always greeted us with big smiles. They were all so very helpful. Pool area was amazing, it was spotless, comfortable sun loungers and lovely trees & plants, there were plenty of sun loungers and no fight for one, on several occasions we had the pool area to ourselves. Hotel also provides clean pool towels each day. There were a few downsides to our stay. I’m unsure if it was hotel or wrong advertisement from easy jet. We upgraded to a superior sea view room, pictures on easy jet showed a lovely sea view with nothing in front. In reality in front of the sea view was a main road ( very noisy constantly) lots of trees and derelict buildings covered in graffiti, because of this we felt the cost of upgrade didn’t warrant this Also easy jet advertised a free shuttle bus to hotels private beach.( I have mobility issues and this is one of the reasons we booked) we were informed by hotel they didn’t have a private beach and this was misadvertised.when I did visit the beach it cost me 30 euros return in a taxi. Also hotel is a little isolated especially for people with mobility issues. You definitely need a car, quad or bike. We hired a jeep for a few days to explore the island which was beautiful. We got a taxi most evening into gouves 15 euros each way and ate in some lovely tavernas. Only downside to it is everywhere is spread out so for people like myself with mobility issues it can be tough. I would definitely recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone but unfortunately I wouldn’t return due to it being so isolated ( with my mobility issues)
• K3627JVmichelleo (10/5): Fantastic Hotel Stay - We stayed at Vasia Royal for five nights and cannot recommend this hotel enough. Situated in a remote area, I suggest renting a car, quad, or scooter to reach the nearby town or village, which is about a 14-minute drive away. The rooms were spotless, cleaned daily, with water restocked and extra towels provided upon request. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until we left. We arrived late at night, after 11pm, when the hotel had already stopped serving food. When we asked if there were any local options, the staff went above and beyond by quickly arranging for food to be delivered to the hotel. It was a thoughtful gesture, especially since we were tired from traveling and just wanted a meal before heading to bed. The pool is a perfect size, and since the hotel is smaller, there were always sunbeds available, as well as easy access to the pool bar. The cocktails were excellent—especially the Strawberry Mojito, which was a 10/10! The food was delicious and made to order. Breakfast was included in our stay, offering a good variety of options. However, we tended to go down at the last minute, so we ended up with the leftovers, which weren’t great. Coming earlier would likely have made a difference. I highly recommend having some form of transportation when staying at this hotel. While there is a bus stop directly outside, the buses are often late, and you could end up waiting over 30 minutes or more for one to arrive. We personally loved the location, especially since we had a rented jeep. The area was peaceful and relaxing, with plenty of space by the pool. At the same time, a short drive took us right into the lively atmosphere of nightlife, restaurants, and pubs. The staff gave us fantastic meal recommendations as well. The Island restaurant in Grouves was amazing, set in the most scenic location. They also suggested Domes in Hersonissos, which was equally incredible, and highly recommend people to visit. Overall fantastic stay!

• kayseym2022 (8/5): Our stay at the Vasia Royal - Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Vasia Royal with my daughter. The hotel is spotless, very modern and well kept. Rooms are spacious and offer everything you could need for your stay. We had a small balcony, fridge and hot drinks facilities, a big shower and tv. The pool area is very pretty and clean, with lovely plants and trees all around. The hotel itself is a little out the way of much, to get any kind of nightlife, shops or entertainment you do need to catch the bus; which is right outside and runs pretty regular. The hotel doesn’t offer any entertainment and food choices were a little limited. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, any help you needed they were on hand. Sofia on reception particularly was a very friendly and always happy to see us and give a compliment or answer any questions were had. Overall this hotel is a good base if you are after a relaxing holiday without many kids or a base if you don’t mind getting out and exploring. The nearest beach is about a 5/10 minute walk, but the better beaches are into Gouves area which is about 5 mins on the bus. Also if you are staying in the area, 5 mins from the hotel is a rescue centre for street cats and dogs. We visited for the afternoon and it was a special experience, you can even walk the dogs along the beach and spend a little time with them. Defo recommend. We had a lovely stay and would come back again.
• James (10/5): - There were too many stray cats around the dining area, my wife is allergic to cats/ the Hotel management has not taken this into consideration. At any given time there are approximately 10 cats during breakfast. The management will have to managed this.
• Roy (8/5): Friendly hotel between heraklion and herssonisos. - The hotel is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very close to heraklion airport, and it is very easy to take a bus to the city or to the airport. There are no stores or restaurants nearby. It is in an isolated and quiet place. For some it is an advantage, for some it is a problem. The pool is very nice. Breakfast is nice and rich. Dinner is sometimes served as a buffet, and sometimes served as a menu a la carte, but the choice is poor. We enjoyed a lot, and we recommend this hotel because of its fair price, nice location and friendly staff.

• Happytriotravellers (10/5): Unplanned Stay exceptional service and staff - We had an unplanned stay for 17 days at Vasia Royal booked by our insurance company. My father was taken into hospital and had a double heart bypass during our initial holiday in Elounda and the Vasia Royal was booked as it was near to the hospital in Heraklion. We cannot fault the hotel, all of the staff made our stay special. Initially it was my mum and I who stayed and the staff made a special effort and showed us compassion and kindness on another level , everyday they made us laugh and took time to ask how my father was getting on showing genuine concern for both my mum and I and my father. The hotel is very clean, excellent bar menu especially Rose!!! And the Mojito cocktail. The food is great authentic Greek cooking very fresh. Thanasis picked us fresh flowers everyday for our table in the dining room which was a lovely thought! One night we decided to have a burger, it was great much better than McDonalds!! The pool area is fab, lots of space no rush for the sun beds and free clean pool towels daily. Area is nice a quiet, hotel well positioned to visit many local attractions including the aquarium, and Gouves and Heraklion city. The biggest of thank you’s to all the staff especially Antonis, the Manager and Sofia and the other lady on reception whose name began with an M. • Karianne (8/5): Utrolig hyggelige ansatte og service - Flyet vårt ble kansellert og jeg måtte selv booke hotell overnatting, fant dette hotellet som var i nærheten av flyplassen og så fresht ut. Kun 10-15 minutter å kjøre. Ble tatt imot sent på kvelden av hotell sjefen og resepsjonisten. Begge var utrolig hyggelige og imøtekommende. Rommet var stort og fint med en fin balkong. God og stor seng. Det var vann på rommet og kaffe fasiliteter. Frokosten var veldig bra, fikk servert kaffe og juice ved bordet. Veldig bra service. Dessverre rakk vi ikke teste pool og andre fasiliteter. Men det så veldig bra ut. Bor gjerne her igjen ved rett tilfelle.

The pool was clean, the bar had a various amount of drinks and cocktails to order and the food that was prepared by the kitchen was delicious. I would totaly suggest the hotel because the hospitality and the kindness is on another level. Also the hotel is near to heraklion, you can take the bus from the busstop just outside of the hotel, easy transport 😊. The staff made our holidays even better due too the kindness and the work ethic that they have.

• Misty020 (10/5): Nice Clean Hotel with Good Food and Lovely Staff - The Vasia Royal is situated in a fabulous place that can be used as a base for discovering the Island. There are regular bus routes or you can hire a car ( strongly recommend Travel Rentals Herssonissos) As for the hotel - it is very pleasant & clean. The food is lovely & gives you the opportunity to sample the local cuisine. The staff are very pleasant and obliging ( especially Soulla who served us for drinks) The rooms are regularly cleaned and stocked up with water & coffee. We asked for decaf & it was no problem. All-in-all a pleasant stay.

• Dina (10/5): - Staff was amazing and always there to make sure we were comfortable and had a great time the entire ten days we were there. View was beautiful and beds were very comfortable. I definitely recommend having a car to enjoy all the local restaurants and beaches.
• Tarik (6/5): Good but will not go back again! - Service is good, breakfast is good, and in general it's clean.. But before you go, this hotel does not have twin beds rooms only double bed. I was with my son and asked for twin, the answer was this hotel have only double rooms! The second thing is the shower , when you take shower the water filled all the bathroom because there is a glass on one side but it's open without anything on the other side! Also,you can hear everything in the corridor and the other room maybe because there is a connection door, but people in that room came after 1 am and was talking very loudly,we woke up and could not go back to sleep, this happens 2 nights! Simply I will not go again!
• davbe86 (8/5): Great service, nice hotel - Nice rooms, nice restaurant, good price. Very nice service. They even send my pillow that i forgot back to me. I am very happy with this hotel. I only have a few suggestions. Not that these are bad thing. But it would increase the stay even more without any real cost to the hotel. 1. Have a few more folders/info of things to do in the vicinity. There is a bit, but the more info the better for any guest. 2. The curtains in the rooms are the wrong way around. There is a light blocking curtain and a privacy curtain that lets light in but blocks the view. The light blocking one should be on the inside and the privacy on the window side. This way you can let light in but keep privacy. now they where the other way around so you would need to open both curtains and then close the privacy curtain again. 3. The shower drain is right under the shower head. But its is a drain type that is not excellent to stand on. But you can't shower not standing on it. This is no problem for the visitor You wont notice any discomfort . But it might need faster repair costs to keep it this way. 3 tips, jut to make it even better then it already is :)

But excellent AC and beds. Would buy again. Friendly staff. Pools are really nice and look premium. Also great sun beds and towels are provided.

Personnel très accueillant, le bémol je dirais la nourriture, c’est vraiment pas digne d’un 4 étoile même pas d’un 1 étoile, ça fait vraiment cantine idem pour le petit déjeuner, toutes les boissons sont payantes, du coup si vous avez pris un forfait petit déjeuner et dîner inclus ça sera sans boisson, pour le petit dej que le café noir inclus, le reste payant.

L’utilizzo del purtroppo è necessario perché l’Hotel avrebbe delle enormi potenzialità, ma le cose che non funzionano sono veramente troppe. 1) Prima di raccontare il disservizio che abbiamo avuto la sfortuna di imbatterci , necessita una premessa: “le receptionist sono troppo seriose (sembrano sempre arrabbiate) e veramente maleducate, soprattutto la seconda che abbiamo avuto a che fare, la quale non ha voluto nemmeno dirci il suo nome”. Disservizio: il giorno prima della partenza abbiamo chiesto alla receptionist di turno se fosse possibile stamparci le carte di imbarco, ci ha risposto di si, bastava portare il file da stampare in una flash drive; durante la giornata siamo andati per ben due volte dalla stessa receptionist per farcele stampare, ma entrambi le volte ci ha detto di ritornare, perché era troppo occupata .La sera stessa ritorniamo alla reception e troviamo una receptionist diversa, la quale ci dice di NO, adducendo mille scuse, fra le più disparate e fantasiose, nonostante gli avessimo detto che la sua collega ci aveva detto di si. Ovviamente abbiamo dovuto correre a destra e a manca per riuscire a trovare un posto che ce le stampasse; avessero detto no subito, non avremmo dovuto impazzire la mattina della partenza! Ho
• Daniela (8/5): - Struttura molto bella e pulita, personale gentile e sempre disponibile.Unico lato negativo: la sera intorno all'hotel non c'è nulla (locali..per vita notturna in generale), quindi per forza si deve prendere la macchina o i mezzi pubblici( fermate a due passi dalla struttura) per uscire e fare anche solo una passeggiata. Bellissima la sala comune dove i vari ospiti si possono rilassare.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - Das Dinner war entgegen mancher Bewertungen richtig gut und abwechslungsreich. Dagegen hat uns das vielgepriesene Frühstück eher mittelmäßig begeistert. Baulich muss das Hotel mit leicht geschlossenen Augen bewertet werden, weil, z.B. manche Treppenstufen ungleich Höhe hatten, Geländer so montiert waren, dass bei Benutzung des Handlaufes Gefahr des Einklemmens bestand wegen zu geringen Abständen zur Wand/bzw. zur Treppe. Platten um den Pool herum lose und mit Höhenunterschieden. An 2 Tagen war zur Morgentoilette erst verzögert Wasser verfügbar. Das Badezimmer im Superiorzimmer eher sehr klein. Allerdings ist die ebenerdige Dusche sehr angenehm zu benutzen. Leider läuft sehr schnell Wasser über die zu niedrige Schwelle. Der Service in der Küche, beim Servieren selbst und bei der Reinigung, kann durchweg mit sehr zufriedenstellend bewertet werden. Nur der Lärm im Speiseraum war weniger angenehm. Zusammengefasst betrachtet scheinen die 4 Sterne für die Zimmer und den baulichen Zustand nicht gerechtfertigt. Oder wir haben falsche Zimmer gebucht. Ansonsten möchten wir die Leistungen, insbesondere der Küche hervorheben. Hier war Freude sichtlich. Was bei manchen Servierkräften eher schwach ausgeprägt war.

Pool was nice, but there are tiles around the outside so you will slip either into the stone recess or back into the pool. Cats freely wander into the dining room. Room was comfortable but could hear the traffic and the incoming planes.

Eine Goldkette beim Frühstück verloren und eigentlich schon abgeschrieben 😲als ich zur Reception ging drückte man mir einen Briefumschlag in die Hsnd mit der Kette . Fühlte mich überwältigend Gut. Einmal , es war sehr Heiss ca 34 Crad, gab es einen Stromausfall, paar Stunden im ganzen Hotel kein Strom und Wasser , das kann mal vorkommen Und wird akzeptiert.

• Verified traveler (10/5): Ottimo - L'hotel era curato bene e pulito. Il buffet del ristorante era ottimo con una ricca varietà di carne e verdure. Nelle vicinanze non c'era il paese da passeggiare, ma davanti all'hotel ci sono le fermate dell'autobus per raggiungere le principali località turistiche, quali Hersonissos, Malia ed Heraklion. Lo consiglio a tutti.

• Dominique (10/5): - Excellent accueil. La chambre est vaste et dispose de tout le confort moderne. Le personnel est à l'écoute. Petits déjeuners à la hauteur des autres prestations de l'établissement. Seul bémol, des places de parking limitées dans l'enceinte de l'hôtel, mais possibilité de se garer dans la rue sans problèmes. A recommander pour un séjour à Héraklion, moins cher, moins bruyant et plus confortable que bien des concurrents situés en ville.

• Kate (10/5): - Close to beach and great parking with wide, spacious location away from the congestion of Heraklion but very near the airport! The food was amazing!! Get the half-board and enjoy 5 star breakfast and dinner buffets. Immaculate and comfy beds. Will stay here again!
• Verified traveler (8/5): Un hôtel récent offrant un service mitigé - L'établissement a été entièrement rénové en Juin 2018 donc il est très propre : le mobilier est récent et les salles de bain très modernes. Nous avons passé 11 jours dans l'établissement et avons particulièrement apprécié le comfort des chambres et l'amabilité du personnel de ménage ainsi que le personnel de l'accueil : toujours souriants et très à l'écoute pour répondre à vos demandes et vous recommander les meilleurs endroits dans les environs! Ce n'est pas le cas pour le personnel du restaurant qui ne vous adresse même pas un bonjour et affiche son mécontentement à longueur de journée : La serveuse se trompe dans ma commande de boissons et quand je lui fait savoir que ce n'est pas ce que j'ai demandé : elle me répond " la prochaine fois vous aurez ce que vous avez demandé, maintenant, signez ici!", aucune excuse, aucun geste commercial pour remédier à son erreur de commande qu'elle m'avait d'ailleurs fait répéter 2 fois! Bref l'amabilité n'est pas de rigueur au restaurant et absolument pas digne d'un service 4 étoiles. Le restaurant est correct mais ne vaut pas non plus celui d'un hôtel 4 étoiles : je pense qu'il y a des efforts à faire à ce niveau là également. Sinon l'hôtel nous a accueilli avec une bouteille de vin ainsi qu'un panier de fruits dans la chambre et le personnel nous a offert un petit cadeau la veille de notre départ : de très gentilles petites attentions que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

• Elizabeth (8/5): Hard to find. Modern place with friendly staff. - The hotel itself was great. Clean, spacious (for Greece), and modern. It had a great pool and a miderately sized restaurant. They also had a “living room” on the main floor where guests could socialize and use free WiFi ( note WiFi in your room is an extra charge). Our stay came with breakfast included and they had good variety for their buffet. It was a great value. The room was spacious and cute. There was free fruit as a welcome. There is a light outside of the rooms (as part of the hotel’s facade) which is on all night long. You have to use the black out curtains if you want it blocked off. A little annoying if you would like to wake up to natural light and not have to use the curtains. Otherwise, the room is modern and comfortable. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious. Note, the hotel can be tricky to find based on the address (since i think it’s only been there for 3 months). Google maps kept bringing us to the beach side even though it’s about 5 minutes from there. Luckily, the restaurant that maps kept directing us to had a friendly server who said this happens frequently and gave us directions. It would be nice to have the address updated. Only other issue is parking. Their lot is small and can’t really fit that many cars. You can park on the street, however this may be an issue when they continue to get more guests. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and professional. Would stay again.
• fiona (10/5): Beautiful modern hotel - Very modern, beautiful Scandi styling in both bedrooms and communal areas. The location isn't great as there is very little to do nearby but it is on the main road with a great bus service so really easy to get all across the island. Although on main road no traffic noise. Lovely pool and never any problems getting sun beds. Fabulous reception staff, bar staff and cleaning staff. Some of the restaurant staff could have been a little friendlier but were overall very efficient and the restaurant manager was fantastic. The hotel has sun beds on the small beach nearby (approx 10-15 mins walk) but it's not a very attractive and you have to pay a charge for them which given the quality and standards of the hotel was a little surprising. Lots of beautiful beaches nearby and easily reached by bus. Expedia site says rooms have free wifi which is not the case. It's only free in communal areas but when we told the hotel that we had booked expecting free wifi in the rooms they immediately honored that with no fuss which was indicative of the overall excellent customer service. Some very minor improvements could be made that would cost the hotel very little but would improve the guest experience and are usually included in hotels of this standard e.g. Free wifi in bedroom, free safe, a shelf in the bathroom(we improvised and used the luggage stand) coffee and tea replenished in room, self serve coffee, tea, water and soft drinks in the restaurant. Nothing big but the small things matter.
